Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

To sparkle, forgetmenots and everyone else who's worrying, I feel in the same boat too.

After a flurry of activity and some more definite jabs seem to have had a quiet few days. That said, bump seems to be growing exponentially so perhaps baby has just made more space?

suzyrut, hope everything's ok, sure it's a good sign that baby's active.

curlyclaz13 · 17/01/2013 13:26

Scan was fine today, baby was asleep and not moving much same as at twelve weeks ! we now know we are having a boy.

Olimoss · 17/01/2013 13:37

Yay on the scan news, v pleasing. Boys ahoy...

AmIGoingMad · 17/01/2013 13:41

Congratulations on scan and finding out you're having a boy! Smile

suzyrut · 17/01/2013 14:19

Curly congrats on all the scan news and having a boy.We should start updating that stats thread with the sex maybe?

Had mine today too, everything looked fine, don't have placenta previa which is where they were thinking the bleeding came from and saw the doctor who said all I can do now is come back again when it happens and they'll keep checking the heartbeat and my cervix...I'm starting to have nightmares about speculums.

I'm bucking the trend and despite being certain I was having a boy it is in fact a girl! Let the great name debate commence. Shopping is a go on Saturday and have just started a spreadsheet which I am trying to make look like work!

Hope everyone's feeling ok today xxx

forgetmenots · 17/01/2013 14:34

Awww Suzy and curly, congrats on the scans! A boy and a girl! Lovely :)
Now we guessers all need to know your symptoms so we can play along!

Lexilexi, I've got the bigger bump too so you might have it! Felt a few wriggles this morning but it has been so quiet, not used to it!

Sunbeam18 · 17/01/2013 15:09

Oh my God, I just got measured for a bra in Bravissimo and my boobs have gone up to 36G!! Where on earth will they end up if this size at 18 weeks...

Olimoss · 17/01/2013 15:21

How many boys and girls to date?

Two boys (me and Curly)
One girl (Suzy)

I'm sure there's another girl lurking somewhere...

I totally went off sweet things for the first 4 months, which I have heard is an old wives' tale for boys.

suzyrut · 17/01/2013 15:32

forgetmenots I think the only thing I can say for definite is that I have craved healthier things when pregnant with a girl so its been oranges/orange lollies and celery this time (in fact all I could eat was fruit for a few weeks with both dd1 and this one). It was chocolate all the way with ds! xxx

SunnyL · 17/01/2013 15:46

Ooh like the discussions about symptoms etc and sex of babs. I'm definately not going to find out but am already getting all the old wives tales about what it could be.

Slow heart beat = boy (as they are lazy beggars)
Bump out to the front = boy
All round thickening with less pronounced bump = girl

With regards to the sweet stuff I have been chocolate mad since I became pregnant. Normally I'm a savoury person and buy chocolate once in a blue moon. Apparently my sister was the same with her 2 boys. Who knows??

AmIGoingMad · 17/01/2013 16:27

Congratulations Suzy! A little girl!Smile

redwellybluewelly · 17/01/2013 16:33

Its a whole 6 days until we find out and I'm getting all a bit twitchy!

So far except for feeling 10x more sick and 10x more in pain I'm exactly the same as DC1 (a girl). Craved fish, oranges (the reamisn of 2 are on my desk now) and generally off sweet things except for french fancies which are the food of the gods

princesschick · 17/01/2013 16:37

Just waving hi and to say congrats to all those who've had scans. Lovely news! Does this mean everyone's out buying their first pink or blue things? I'll be doing white wriggler suits and neutral stuff because I want to find out at the end. I'm always working out surprises people try and do for me, so it will be nice to be surprised for once. Let's hope the sonographer doesn't let us down or baby doesn't present him / herself too fully next week Grin

Was a bit worried yesterday as the usually very busy baby was completely silent. Not a single move. Not during yoga or when I was trying to go to sleep or after a fruit juice, not even with a prod from me and Dh. However, he's back on form today and has been having a rave in there. Much happier now :) We reckon it was a growth snooze day. Weird as my bump was flat yesterday, so reckon he might have been lying right up inside me, whereas we think we've identified his bum up in corners of my tummy this last week (or another very hard lump that moves around Confused)

Second pregnancy yoga sesh last night was fab. Would highly recommend. Only 6 days to my 20 week scan. Nervous but mostly very excited.

Also writing the job description for my job today and will be advertising for a replacement me next week. We're a small company of 15 and I want to come back part time for a while after maternity leave so I'm going to be moved into a different area of the business when I return, which is totally fine with me. Employer is being very flexible and lovely... and so he should be given that he's baby's DGD Wink

ella0 · 17/01/2013 16:59

Congrats to all those who've had scans :) .

I found out early that I was having a girl, and that's been confirmed at the 20 week scan Grin .

I'd already bought a bit of pink (couldn't resist the sales), but we're going to start decorating the nursery now, and I'll buy some more pink!

My midwife wouldn't listen to the heartbeat at the 16 week check, but she did when I saw her at 20 weeks.

We have a doppler anyway, which has been very reassuring for a worrier like me.

I have my MAT B1 now, so it all feels official!

Dillydollydaydream · 17/01/2013 18:16

We're all getting there now :)
My movements have been quite muffled but that may be due to an anterior placenta.
Scan today, all fine thank goodness so can relax a bit. The sonographer thinks this baby is a girl but I'm not confident enought to splash out on loads of pink.

MrsBri · 17/01/2013 18:20

Yay! Congrats on scans and finding out sexes :-)

We are moving house on 16th Feb as we've been told we can have the house we went for subject to our landlord's reference, which will be fine. Very exciting!

forgetmenots · 17/01/2013 18:27

Congrats mrsbri! You can get nesting now :)

AlohaMama · 17/01/2013 18:41

Congrats on all the scans, and on the house MrsBri. With ds we didn't know where we were going to be living until a few weeks before he was born. We were buying a house, but there were complications with the sale and it may have all fell through. We were renting a small flat, and everything we brought for baby was in boxes. In the end, we moved in a few days he was born. I was longing to get things organised and decorated. Glad you can finally know where you'll be and nest!

As for the boy/girl debate. With ds I didn't have particular cravings, was less sick than this time. Quite a sticky-outy bump. Lots of people said it was a boy but I can't remember their reasons now. Ob said she'd thought it was a boy, but that was just cos he was so big.

massagegirl · 17/01/2013 19:02

Great news all those who have had happy scans!!! I still am undecided whether to find out or not. Have noticed my bump increase and decrease at different parts of day. Still a little wriggler in there but have posterior placenta so don't panic those not feeling flutters yet!

AmIGoingMad · 17/01/2013 19:40

Congratulations dillydolly on scan and mrs bri on your upcoming move!Smile

Not got chance to post properly at the moment but am trying to keep up to date with news!

RueDeWakening · 17/01/2013 22:03

I was wondering why you lot had dropped off my Threads I'm On - turns out it's because you started a new thread and I never even noticed :o

Hello to the newcomers (ie anyone in the last month or so!) too.

I've got my 20 week scan on Monday, antenatal appt on Tuesday, and fetal heart scan on Friday next week. Busy busy busy! Other than that, all is fine. No bump to show for being over 20 weeks already, but feeling lots of kicks. DD wants to call the baby Peter or Matilda (she's been reading Secret Seven & Matilda...), DS wants the baby to a) be a girl and b) have the same name as him :o

Also, prams - we had a Silver Cross 3D, which is now falling apart. Budget limited, what should I look at? Don't mind 2nd hand so long as it's in decent nick though. Haven't got much time to browse baby shops, am in the middle of potty training DS so am tied to the house!

MoottonBun · 17/01/2013 23:10

I've been trying to catch up with you lot - thread's moving so fast!

My 20 week scan is coming up next week too, still unsure about finding out the sex, but it seems the norm nowadays for a lot of people. Anyone find out and wish they hadn't? Anyone been told (in a previous pg) which turned out to be wrong? Decisions!

Re the hairy thing, I am going to go against the grain and say I've had two boys and noticed slower hair growth in certain areas (shall I embarrass myself and say where?) but this time round, it's growing normally - so I will be very curious to find out if it means anything. I used the opposite logic that the boys must have been taking all the testosterone for themselves and depriving me of any Confused

What sort of exercise are people doing, any special pregnant lady activities? I tried pregnancy yoga last week (never did it with previous pgs) but not sure if I'll go back, not sure if it's for me. Looking out for ideas though of other similar things if anyone has recommendations.

AlohaMama · 17/01/2013 23:44

Exercise, what's that? Um, I run around after a toddler, does that count? Keep meaning to look in the cupboards and find a yoga DVD I'm sure I have, or buy a new one. That's about it. Last time I just swam a lot, but I'm not sure we can afford the membership fees this time. We go to the beach now and then (yes we live somewhere warm) but the only exercise I get there is making sandcastles and playing with ds.

AlohaMama · 17/01/2013 23:44

Step 1 completed- yoga dvd sitting on the tv cabinet. Step 2 - actually get it out of the box and play it!

MrsBri · 18/01/2013 07:11

Step 1 is very important, Aloha. Without it, step 2 can't be achieved. Once you've built up to it!

I've started going to aquanatal, which I really enjoy. It's only 45 minutes a week, but at least I feel like I'm doing something to keep fit ish!

I've decided this thread has the wrong name...shit night's sleep followed by Exorcist-style vomiting while brushing my teeth this morning. There's a definite link between tiredness and sickness for me. Hmmm, I'm sure one day it'll stop!
