Welcome aboard, for the trip that will take us into the 2nd trimester and beyond, Make yourself comfy as we head towards maternity clothes, new bras, blooming, bumps, scans, and fading ms. Full of chatting, moaning tmi and mutual support.

Hi ladies

Yeah I'm ok thanks, dealing with it all, trying to fight the new levels of exhaustion but looking forward to popping back on at some point with some of my own good news, hopefully before you all pop!

merrygiant · 18/11/2012 14:23

Hi Thunder! Lovely to hear from you. I've only just seen your PM, thank you. It was really odd to see the wriggler move from facing one direction to the face completely the other way, doing a huge buck in the middle! Can't yet feel any of it, not sure if I'm looking forward to that bit - it must be so peculiar.

I for one certainly don't mind you popping by to say hello. Last pregnancy, I was on a babycentre forum, and hung about lurking for a while afterwards. But eventually it felt OK to leave it behind, as it were. Whatever's right for you I guess, but you're welcome aboard anytime!

What a beautiful wintry day it is, just been in the garden watching OH rake leaves, realising that there is shitloads a bit of tidying to do before it gets really cold. Maybe I'll leave that for the week after next, which I have annual leave for Grin

I had to buy some of that Lansinoh nipple cream today, as last night my poor right nipple got trashed. I have eczema but have never known an itch like this! Still, if they can tough it up through this now, then a baby hanging off them in a few months will be a walk in the park Wink

Here's a few snuggly blankets to brighten and warm up the bus, have we all got mittens and hats at the ready or shall I lay those on too? Frus it sounds like you have them, but not always on your person?!

FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 18/11/2012 14:33

I only wear gloves when dog walking. But you've just reminded me that I need to find their gloves.

Hi thund! You absolutely must come back & tell us the moment you have good news! Take your phone with you when you next poas so we can be the first ones to know! Grin

Jojoba1986 · 18/11/2012 18:22

Ridiculous hormones. DS just returned from his overnight stay with my parents & I feel like crying because he wasn't bothered that we weren't there! I wasn't expecting anything else because he's such an easy going child & I know that according to attachment theory it's a good thing if they're not bothered but I would have liked a little more enthusiasm to see us, not just an eagerness to get on with playing with the toys he hasn't seen for 24 hours! Hmm Sad

peardrop2 · 18/11/2012 18:23

Evening ladies!

Thunder lovely to hear from you! And yes please do pop in when you want and share your happy news with us soon :-)

Sorry to hear a few of you have had blurrr weekends but I'm sure all the rubbish symptoms will disappear soon FX!!

merry lovely news about your scan. So nice to see them move about isn't it! Even though mine wasn't so willing to move takes after us both there!

Hope you enjoyed your lamb stew mrsb :-)

13+5

Thundercatsarego · 18/11/2012 19:48

Hi there girls, thanks for the welcomes.

Yep I will definitely let you know as soon as I have any good news.

I'm not lurking here, just keeping an eye on you all to make sure you're all ok.

Take care and look after yourselves x

FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 18/11/2012 21:50

Evening pear, jojo everyone else Grin

jojo it's your hormones, I'd pay someone to take my 4yo overnight how old is your DS? Has he reached the clingy stage yet? It is good that he is comfortable with being left and knowing that you will return.

I have succeeded in seriously reducing my ironing pile, painted my nails, and am currently watching im a celebrity woo get my exciting life.

My cramps have developed into quite obvious round ligament pain. So I'm happy. Unfortunately I'm sure it comes before bumpage growth. Eek.

Hey ladies! It's been a really busy weekend. Finally having a few minutes to just sit down and put my feet up for a bit. DH's birthday was yesterday so he got a lay-in, breakfast, fancy lunch and dinner whilst I had the boys (which was exhausting on it's own, on top of pregnancy). Today was much more exciting! Squeeeee! Just got home from a breech birth seminar with JANE EVANS! She was absolutely lovely to listen to, had some wonderful stories about births she's been to and just normalised breech birth in a way that I feel so much more comfortable if I run into one. Saw a lot of birth videos and kept thinking "oh shite, I'm gonna have to do that again." She's kind of like the British Ina May Gaskin.

Jojoba1986 · 19/11/2012 06:23

Hoobs first question today: 'What do mums & dads do?'

I've not heard of Jane Evans, will definitely be investigating her. I'm a big fan of anyone who suggests it's possible to have a natural breech birth!

Frus DS is 13 months & so far hasn't had a clingy stage at all! He's a v independent child. He used to cry to be put down as a newborn! I was looking forward to being the only one who could stop the world ending but I'm beginning to think he's never going to let me! Sad Hopefully the next one will be a bit more affectionate!

MrsBri · 19/11/2012 07:08

Morning all!

How is everyone? I did bugger all this weekend which was nice. Slept like shit though, so still exhausted! Bit better sleep last night, but think I was too tired not to.

Work day = increase in MS though. Nice, not! At least I get a lie in on Wednesday as I'm having my flu jab just before 9, so don't have to get up until 7.45. Lovely stuff. :-)

Quite crampy the last 24 hours. Shows things are growing, I suppose. My boobs appear to have stopped for the time being, however. Thank god!

FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 19/11/2012 08:41

Jojo You've for a while before he goes clingy, I think it's about 2 when it hits. although dd2 hasn't hit that developmental stage yet

mrs increased ms on workdays is not good.

12 weeks today.

peardrop2 · 19/11/2012 10:23

frus yay for 12 weeks!! Very nearly scan time :-)

I'm feeling better then last Monday but I'd still love to be at home instead :-/

Librarina · 19/11/2012 11:37

Hello! It's me, Ali but with a slightly new name.

And Hello Thunder, it's nice to meet you (I lurked on the previous threads so you are familiar to me even if I am new to you)

I have good news regarding my scan (which was going to be on 11th Dec), my lovely Midwife has found me one on the 29th Nov which is 13+2 by my reckoning, and, more importantly, is Only Next Week... YAY!

My new work diary for 2013 has arrived and as I'm transferring info across I keep realising things I won't be around to do because I'll be on Mat Leave... which is weird and exciting.

Hope you're all feeling well. My boobs were ridiculous this morning, I thought all that was supposed to calm down in the 2nd Tri but they're as big and hot as ever, I'm still tired and WHERE'S MY GLOW!!

Blending · 19/11/2012 11:56

Jojo, my DD is an independant thing and hates being cuddled and picked up, but when she hit 18 months she started to get all affectionate with snuggles and kisses. Now she hates to miss out, and when she sees DH and me hugging she runs over arms outstretched to join in. She also realised if she shouts "NEED a cuggle!" she'll get picked up from her high chair/cot/etc! (then wriggles away to get on the floor!)

Thanks for dropping in Thunder, Its good to know your doing ok x

As for everyone else , it sounds like a busy weekend all round.

Getting over this silly cold, and neither of us had any energy so had a chippy tea on a Sunday! The height of lazyness! All three of us went to bed before 8, but then I snuck down to watch the end of X-Factor- OH BOY! Glad I did as it was all over facebook this morning, and it wouldnt have been the same shock value (By the way I'm a scouser and NOBODY I know has voted for Mr Baloney, we are all ashamed that the cheesy-wotsit coloured one is representing Liverpool Grin)

Anyway back on topic, I am now in my maternity jeans! OK they are the ones I thought were useless last time as I grew out of them too quickly, but they are soooo comfy! I wouldn't have gone out and bought them, but I was getting fed up with the elastic band through the button hole trick, and as they were in the loft already...'tis a slippery slope towards floatty smocks and such like!

Lorelei353 · 19/11/2012 12:39

So I had my booking-in appointment with my midwife this morning. Really lovely women (and lovely student) and nice clinic too. Got my green book and all my info and gave loads of blood.

Thunder So nice to hear from you! Pop in as often as you'd like to say hi.

However - MASSIVE TMI ALERT - I've just got into work and gone to the toilet and there was quite a bit of cervical mucus/discharge. It was kind of yellowy/green, and possibly a bit brown. Is this normal? I did have sex yesterday which was the first time in weeks (just not been feeling up to it) so could it be related to that? I don't want to over-react and call midwife, so thought I'd gather thoughts here first. I'm 11 + 1 now.

Jojoba1986 · 19/11/2012 13:04

It's perfectly normal for there to be more/different cm after sex. As long as it's not bright red blood it should be fine! I'm sure the midwife would be more than happy to reassure you if you need it though! Smile

Blending, it's nice to know we might still be in with a chance to have a few cuddles from DS! Everyone told me he'd go through a clingy phase at about 8 months so I thought we'd missed it!

Lorelei353 · 19/11/2012 14:32

Thanks Jojo.

I don't have any cramping and it wasn't bloody. It was egg white in consistency but just yellow/green and brown so looked quite odd. And a big glob came out too. I think as long as I don't get any more I'll leave it, but if I do I'll ring my midwife.

Typical that this happens an hour after I've left my appointment!

Librarina · 19/11/2012 14:48

While we're on TMI - we too DTD last night for the first time in ages... it was lovely!

Lorelei353 · 19/11/2012 14:57

I hear you Librarina (like the new name by the way). I've been missing that closeness of late.

bringonthetrumpets · 19/11/2012 15:04

Well at least some of us are enjoying it.....I feel completely turned off by DH at the moment and want nothing of it! He just seems hairy, sweaty, smelly to me. No thanks. I feel bad...but I can't help it!

MrsBri · 19/11/2012 15:13

Ah, trumpets, I'm with you.

DH smells and tastes different and I'm finding it really hard to deal with :-(

I've not had sex since we found out and don't want to either! Poor DH.

Lorelei353 · 19/11/2012 15:19

That's how I've been feeling up until now. Haven't wanted anything to do with him. Am taking return to form as a sign of the end of my first trimester symptoms. Nausea's also massively improved. Fatigue still an issue..zzzzzzzzz

bringonthetrumpets · 19/11/2012 16:06

Thanks Bri and Lor. The nausea is gone, now it's just a general aversion to the poor chap. Hmm. Even snuggles and kisses are feeling too much when I just want to sleep!
