Cheers for your optimism pear :)

Sorry to hear about your back, frus (and the general feelings of unrest). Have you tried a hot water bottle or heating pad? I guess I don't know how you all feel about chiropractors over there (aren't they called "physios"? Can't remember....) but oh man, I am in love with mine! I see her the same weeks that I see the midwife and I feel like I new woman when she is done putting everything back in place. I have horribly lose hip and sacral joints that are very painful in pregnancy, so seeing her helps so much!

peardrop2 · 16/11/2012 06:16

Happy Friday ladies! Another day in the world of pregnancy :-)

Mrs & Frus could you two be referred to a physio via your GP? Not the quickest option but certainly the cheapest.

MrsBri · 16/11/2012 06:33

My alarm clock chose to go off 10 minutes' late today! Luckily DH has assisted and I'm now back on course :-)

But feeling queasy...fast starts aren't helpful!

MrsBri · 16/11/2012 07:11

Oh, and pregnant ladies can't have physio either. My pregnant clients are told they have to wait til after the birth to have treatment.

Not sure about chiro, but you can't get that on the NHS.

I just cope with mine. With a bit of moaning to Bri, ha ha!

Jojoba1986 · 16/11/2012 07:30

You can get specific massages for pregnancy... Never had one myself, just noticed a hotel that did them & it amused me! Might be helpful!

LibrarianAli · 16/11/2012 08:26

My local hospital offers Aromatherapy massage and Reflexology for pregnant women. It's £20 per hour which is cheaper than usual I think.

I got my scan appointment through - 11th Dec! Feels like such a long time away, I'll be 15 weeks by then. I'm a little annoyed as I've been in the system since 10th October. Anyway, it'll be a lovely Christmas present!

FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 16/11/2012 08:39

ali have you opted out of the nuchel scan? I thought 15 was too late for that?

OP posts:
MrsBri · 16/11/2012 08:40

Ooh...I'm on 11th too, Ali. But I'll be 12+3.

15 is late, isn't it?

peardrop2 · 16/11/2012 08:44

I think you can find out the sex at 15 weeks not gender obsessed at all £20 sounds like a good price!

LibrarianAli · 16/11/2012 08:58

Ahh, I have opted out of the nuchal test, maybe that's why there isn't such a rush.
Pregnancy seems to be more about waiting than anything else!

peardrop2 · 16/11/2012 09:01

Ah ok, that make sense if you opted out. It is the longest waiting game!

Blending · 16/11/2012 09:28

Morning ladies.

Another grumpy achy person here. I've got a sore throat and aching all over. I was in bed early again last night before I'm a Celeb, but my toddler had other ideas. She has a sore throat too and kept waking up.

Little Madam, I gave her a bottle of water, and she is more than capable of drinking it herself, but she woke hourly crying , and thrust the bottle at me when I went in the room, insisting I gave it to her.

DH went in until 12, (but I still woke up) then I took over, but I'm feeling pretty crappy today.

Stuck her in front of ceebeebies with poridge at the moment.

Do I feel guilty using the TV as a baby sitter for a 23mo? Not in the slightest!

My tummy is huge and suddenly I cant get comfy in bed.

Off to make some honey and lemon, and take a paracetamol aka home made lemsip!

kittykatskumkwat · 16/11/2012 09:58

I feel your pain blending, my dd has had a sore throat/cold and been teething the past 2 nights, dh with his operated arm is in the spare room oblivious and I hear every whimper every few hours, had to get up for an hour at 1 to administer calpol and get a bottle of water then up at 6 for work Sad
She's quite good really considering but it's hard!
Sorry to hear of all the aches and pains, I'm worried because I don't really have them but can't wait to feel "normal" again that'll be another 7 months thenWink

Jojoba1986 · 16/11/2012 10:08

My DS was awake & upset a lot in the night too! Not sure if it's a cold or teething but he slept for about 20 mins, woke up crying & then sang in his cot for 4-5 hours before settling for an hour. He then woke up & we had his sad little 'I'm in pain' cry for the next few hours! He had some calpol & is asleep now but cries in his sleep every 30 mins or so! It's heartbreaking listening to it & not going in to him but I know he'll only wake up properly if I do & he's so tired! Sad

for everyone looking after a sick DC!

kittykatskumkwat · 16/11/2012 11:03

Oh Jojo that's sounds like mine, I think it's the teeth because of the pain cry, she had 3 little blood patches in her cot yesterday where the big ones must be comming through, feel so sorry for her but you can't do anything, I think the same as you, unless I know she's awake and not going to sleep I dont go in as it makes her worse
< hugs for all the babies Sad>

Blending · 16/11/2012 14:10

DD co-operated and had a 2 hour nap, so I threw together some home-made chicken soup.

We just had a steaming bowlful each and I'm feeling all earth-mother like and smug Grin.

The fact we are not even dressed and she is now back infront of the TV doesn't come into it . Nor does the fact I've bribed her with a cornetto so I can do other stuff in peace MNBlush

DH has had this cold for a couple of days and when he rang to see how we are, I said he deserves a medal for not really complaining, he said "I'm not pregnant with twins and doing battle with a toddler!" Bless him, he can be a pain in the arse, but occasionally he says the right thing that means he has noticed!

bringonthetrumpets · 16/11/2012 14:45

Sad So sorry to hear about all the poorly and teething little ones! My are complete maniacs this morning! They won't hold still long enough for me to even give them a quick hug.

Jojoba1986 · 16/11/2012 15:24

We're cold-y over here! Lots of snotty sneezes! DS seems to have perked up but my head is foggy & I just feel a bit yuck! I need homemade chicken soup too! Sad

FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 16/11/2012 15:28

I'll have some homemade chicken soup too please. Smile

Lorelei353 · 16/11/2012 17:07

I don't have scold but the soup sounds lovely!

I took today off work just to hang out by myself and chill. Went to Debenhams to get some new bras and came away with some lovely, comfy and supportive bras - in a 34F! I was 32E before I got pregnant but still, that's pretty big! Still I recommend their bras.

FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 16/11/2012 17:56

I got mine from debinhams too lorelei their padded underwired t-shirt bras are so comfy.

OP posts:
Lorelei353 · 16/11/2012 18:10

I got two-pack of soft, lacy ones. I figured I didn't need more padding!

FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 16/11/2012 18:44

Good point lorelei I work with teenagers, need padded on cold days, not good otherwise.

OP posts:
Lorelei353 · 16/11/2012 18:59

Ha ha frus. I understand Grin

FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 16/11/2012 20:40

I'm glad you do lorelei it could have come out sounding extremely wrong.
