angeltattoo congrats on your healthy little girl!

Seems a lot of us have an anterior placenta xxxx

milktraylady · 28/11/2012 16:08

I had a 1 hr lie down at work today in the first aid room. Came in late & left early due to extreme tiredness. Anyone else also knackered? Feeling a bit pathetic Sad

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 28/11/2012 16:21

Yes milktray, I am! I work 12 hour shifts and they're really wearing me down. I'm living for my days off and just so tired! Sometimes I want to cry at work because its so busy and I feel so tired. Fortunately I'm off today and tomorrow :) done very little today but planning to shop tomorrow!

enjay0811 · 28/11/2012 17:15

Hi all, the scan was brilliant, so detailed n had sum really good views of little toes, lips and hands! Unfortunately the cord was between the legs so cldnt tell the sex! The sonographer said she had a 'hunch' it was a girl but cldnt/wldnt tell us if she was more than 50% certain. So a surprise for us! Think Dh was hoping for a boy as we have 2dd's. They also booked me in for another scan at 34 wks cos I have a low lying placenta tht is completely covering the cervix. They said 99% of the time it moves up but wld hate to have a c section! Jst glad baby is fine n my thoughts r still with those who r not having such a straight forward time x

Glad urs went well tattooed although I suspect u'll b seeing ur little bundles before me! Lovely finding out at Xmas with oh. Love the idea of the cake too whoeva is doin tht! :-)

Mama1980 · 28/11/2012 17:27

Congratulations to all Those who had scans today. We're still here, babe has a strong heartbeat no more signs of distress yet. Having a good day today i feel human just about and im almost daring to hope......

kellestar · 28/11/2012 17:44

cadmum Such sad news, Rachel is a beautiful name.

I'm getting all excited as my scan is tomorrow :) eep!

Though I'm over the bone tired exhaustion of this cold, I've still not gained my sense of smell or taste. I spent hours making a chicken, mushroom and sweetcorn risotto, only to have DH come through the door and announce that dinner is burned. It taste's and smells burned but doesn't look it. He's not willing to risk it, so he's just gone off to get Chinese. Though I really fancied bloody risotto.

SilentMammoth · 28/11/2012 18:40

Kellestar I lost my sense of taste and smell in my last pregnancy 18 months ago. It's not come back properly Sad Any idea what triggered yours?

Mama glad you're OK. Keep us posted.

Cadmum, you're in everyone's thoughts.

toobreathless · 28/11/2012 18:46

Thanks missmuffet and jj247 for your welcomes :). jj I remember the lovely compression tights, and I was pregnant during a (rare) hot summer, it was lush and I wasn't irritated at all by having to wear them (not). I keep forgetting to inject, very naughty. My brain seems to have disappeared along with my energy. Slapped wrist, must do better.

Mama great to hear your boy is doing well :)

Congratulations to angeltattoo , steph , enjay and caliope on your healthy scan results - the cake idea is fab how lovely!

enjay it's frustrating to not be able to know the sex isn't it? Happened with my last pregnancy and this one isn't 100%. I've got a low lying placenta and another scan at 34 weeks too, hopefully we will find out wether we're really having girls or wether we have boys who are just good at hiding their bits...

JaquelineHyde · 28/11/2012 20:22

Evening ladies, loving all the scan news a week tomorrow until mine Hurrah!!

I have whiplash and my car will be in the garage for at least a week. Ho hum!

Good news though, today I got my quad test results back and I am negative risk for downs syndrome with a 1 in 19,000 risk at term Grin That's one massive worry lifted.

Edin my SPD flared up in the first trimester as well and is bloody painful now, I'm waiting for my physio appointment to come through but apart from the exercises and support belt there isn't much they can to help. I can't manage a full supermarket shop anymore as it has just become too uncomfortable, DH has to help me step into the bath/shower and has begun helping me turn over in bed at night as I just can't do it on my own. It will all be worth it in the end though.

19+6 (Half way through tomorrow, although ds was premature so if that happens again I'm well over half way there Grin )

angeltattoo · 28/11/2012 20:56

Yay enjay, glad your scan was okay, hopefully the placenta moves (most do, I think)

Great news mama you are an inspiration

Excellent work on the stats toobreathless

good luck for tomorrow jacqueline

My DH and I now have to decide on a girls name! And I can start shopping...Only thing is my mum has been shopping like crazy and I have no idea what she already has...

Just had a small amount of spotting, but I am hoping it may have been the poking and prodding of baby and that it doesn't get any worse.

angeltattoo · 28/11/2012 20:57

Make that a week tomorrow jacqueline whoops! Blush

Teapig · 29/11/2012 08:08

Congratulations on all the great scan news! I have mine today, very nervous.

Welcome porkus! So glad you're hanging on in there mama and staying strong, you are an inspiration. You must be very close to 24 weeks now.

I have a terrible cold which has completely knocked me out. Does anyone know what you can take for a cold? I was hoping to stick it out but the coughing, sneezing and headache have taken their toll so I'm wondering whether there is anything I can take. Hopefully the scan will go well and that will make me feel much better.

Hope you have a good flight back bunny, I'm s tad jealous that you're heading back to glorious weather.

20+1

Teapig · 29/11/2012 08:11

Ooh by way, do you need to provide a urine sample at the 20 week scan? I wasn't expecting it at the 12 week scan and I was there for ages drinking water so will drink lots before I go if they need a sample at this one.

Trishstar · 29/11/2012 08:27

Teapig I took a sample cos of them asking at 12 week but didn't need it the other day at 20w scan xx

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 29/11/2012 08:39

I'd take one tea! Re the cold - paracetamol mostly! I believe you can use Vicks. You can't have cold and flu relief stuff but you can have hot lemon with honey which is full of vitamin c which should help.

PorkusEnormous · 29/11/2012 09:27

teapig, I had my scan on Monday and they didn't want any urine. Hope your cold gets better soon :) good luck with the scan!

PorkusEnormous · 29/11/2012 09:40

20+6!

birdbrain17 · 29/11/2012 10:19

teapig I didn't get asked for a sample at the 20 week scan. About your cold I went into boots (it might have been superdrug I have pregnancy brain really badly so not sure) because I wanted liquid paracetamol (tablets are making me gag) and they gave me a pharmacy own version on lem sip. It's paracetamol and lots of vitamins combined in a little sachet that you add to hot water, it doesn't have any decongestants as they're not allowed in pregnancy and the pharmacist said it was perfectly safe! It doesn't taste great I added loads of sugar to it but it did the job. feel better Thanks

Teapig · 29/11/2012 10:58

Thanks for the sample advice ladies. And thanks faith and birdbrain for the cold advice, I'm going to get to Boots asap.

usernamegoeshere · 29/11/2012 13:02

Been away for a few days just catching up!

Cadmum I was so sorry to read your news, Rachel is a lovely name & you seem so brave.

Congratulations on all the scans! & great work Toobreathless in keeping track, the statistics look remarkably average.

Cadmum · 29/11/2012 13:26

Thanks again for your support. I am braver online than in real life...

I very much appreciated having Rachel added to the girl list. I have a lump in my throat and years in my eyes as I type this.

You are a lovely lot in the nest of vipers that is MN.

Cadmum · 29/11/2012 13:28

TEARS in my eyes! iPhone blunder.

enjay0811 · 29/11/2012 13:57

Thanks angel I hope placenta moves too, sounds quite common n only a small chance it will cause any probs. May explain the bleed I had a few wks bk too Hmm

porkus I'm more frustrated not knowing the sex, we have pink everything atm so wanted to know if we cld get sum blue stuff in! Oh well, this lo will b in white, lemon n green for a while otherwise. Love the unisex bright stuff tht a few of u posted recently too.

Anyone gettin braxton hicks yet? I stupidly decided to walk up 3 flights of stairs in work 2day n had 1 for bout 5 mins, uncomfortable!

Good luck to all those yet to have scans , didn't need a sample btw (can't scroll bk for name who asked sorry!) and my thoughts r with Cadmum and fingers crossed for mama

kellestar · 29/11/2012 14:07

Back from my scan, was really thorough, lovely sonographer that talked about everything. It's a surprise to the sex, as we wanted. A little wriggler, this one is spot on for sizes, not small like DD.

Also have a low lying placenta, rescanning at 32 weeks. Though it's only partial, mostly it's posterior.

DD is off with the in laws for the afternoon, means me and DH can have a cuppa and some cake.
