ratbagcatbag · 27/11/2012 13:26

Jacqueline if I were you I'd just pop and get everything checked out with baby, I was told any trauma to bump was always worth a visit and a car crash definitely fits that category.

PorkusEnormous · 27/11/2012 15:53

Hello can I join you lovely ladies?

I'm due April 12th (was the 13th by my dates but was one day out according to my 12 week scan!), had my 20 week scan yesterday.

The technician tipped the bed at an almost 90 degree angle backwards to try and get baby to move, I was clinging on to the edge of the bed for dear life as all the blood rushed to my head! Still couldn't see the sex of the baby too well, but the technician said she was 75% sure it's a girl (what I'm hoping for, is that bad!?). I already have a 4 year old DD but would just love another girl Shock and so would DD. Having said that a boy would still be a lovely surprise.
I have an anterior low lying placenta (abutting os) so get another scan at 34 weeks to make sure its moved out of the way.

Is anyone else injecting Clexane? I had a DVT in my last pregnancy (which I think was mainly down to me being the laziest slug ever, the most exercise I would do is walk from the car to the front door..bad times!).

Jaqueline sorry to hear about your crash hope you have recovered from the shock :(, make sure you get yourself checked out to be sure.

Cadmum you sound so brave and grounded, so sorry and can't imagine what you have been through twice now. Rachel is a beautiful name.

Mama have been lurking for a few days, admiring your strength and keeping fingers crossed for you and your baby boy.

somewherebecomingrain · 27/11/2012 15:58

cadmum I'm in awe too. You sound like a superb mum and person.

mama good luck you are both such fighters.

jacqueline good luck with your scan, so sorry about the crash.

Did someone say 'crap i'm over halfway through' as if to indicate they are enjoying pregnancy so much they don't want it to end? Was it missmuffet? Can you tell me your secret cause I can't wait for it to be over. I'm over half way through and am very buoyed up by that thought as I can't take the moods, the tiredness, the heaviness, the WAITING. But it would be nice to be enjoying it!

xx

Mama1980 · 27/11/2012 16:53

jacqueline what a shock! How are you? Did you get checked out? I hope you are ok x

jj247 · 27/11/2012 18:12

Hi porkus, welcome :)

I'm injecting Fragmin as i have a blood clotting disorder but the risk increases with pregnancy, its the one thing I definitely will be looking forward to NOT having to do linked with this pregnancy! I've also taken to wearing compression tights which has really helped the swelling restless feeling in my legs (plus they are supposed to reduce the likelihood of varicose veins!)

jacqueline hope your whiplash gets better and you get your lovely car sorted v soon x

steph2412 · 27/11/2012 18:20

caliope · 27/11/2012 18:58

Hi all,

Had my scan too today. Lots of us today, aren't there? A very wriggly baby but they got all the measurements needed and all looks well. We had the sex written down on a card and have given it to a cake maker so we'll find out what we're having on Sunday and we cut into the cake at our baby gender party! Can't wait!

Glad to hear all the good news and in such admiration of all the ladies that are going through tougher times xx

20+5

toobreathless · 27/11/2012 19:30

Loads more scans, have just been through and totted up.

11 girls
14 boys
12 surprises, but we get to find out Caliope's on Sunday!

Cadmum lovely to see you back here, Rachel is included in the above stats. Hoping your four children are bringing you lots of love and comfort at this time. Continuing to think of you all.

SilentMammoth · 27/11/2012 19:38

Cadmum, my condolences to you. I'm so sorry.

Mama, how are you doing?

EmpressMatilda · 27/11/2012 20:27

mama Thanks for the reassurance. I only ate a small amount (I got halfway through the salad before I thought 'this doesn't taste like feta'....) so fingers crossed it will be OK. I just keep worrying about everything because that's the person I am! Wishing you all the best. You have so much more to put up with than pesky goat's cheese salad!

Great to hear about more good scans. Keep them coming! Welcome to the newbies as well. I hope you find this group as helpful as I have. Many useful tips and much reassurance have come my way since joining.

I am one of the people with an anterior placenta. I do feel my baby move most days but not always. We saw movement from the outside for the first time a few days ago but that hasn't happened since. So I can still feel but I suspect there's a lot of movement going on in there that I don't feel.

Caught up with some friends at the weekend. One is 12 weeks pg with DC2, she announced, and another is 7 weeks pg with dc1 which she announced at the weekend as well. So we had some great pregnancy chats! It feels like everyone is suddenly having babies. Then again, I am 33 so I think it's just an age thing.

Lots of vexing things (commuting by train, stress at work, headaches, very sore breasts, and many many more) but I think my 'I'm having a baby' excitement just overrules it all at the moment. Knowing how lucky I am that it's all going well is sobering, and even when I had heartburn and tummy twinges earlier I just thought "that's because I'm pregnant and I'M GOING TO HAVE A BABY!"

Hopefully this optimism can get me through the rest of the winter! Wink

ratbagcatbag · 27/11/2012 20:47

Hmmmm. I've felt baby occasionally but not that much and definitely not massive movements, they've not said anything about placenta being anterior so don't know why. Figured because I'm on the larger side but shouldi be worried, I'm 22+2.

Missmuffet28 · 27/11/2012 21:12

Congrats to all the scans today and well done to toobreathless for keeping up with all the stats!!

somewhere yes that was me I don't think it's the fact I'm really enjoying it although scans and wriggling make it slightly more bearable! I think it's the fact I'm a wimp and I fear the whole labour/birth thing haha!!

I'm still unfortunately working hard its really taking its toll on my feet they are throbbing tonight but its less than a month until Xmas and this is argos' extremely busy period as I'm sure you all know so us poor understaffed stores really are running around like headless chickens trying to please our customers and please don't take offence but customers aren't easily pleased this time of year! muffet does her shopping online now to not be one of those Xmas shoppers!

I'm just up feeling so sick! Stomach is killing and - TMI - but I've got diarrhoea :-(

It's either some red meat (i am quite sensitive to it but can usually manage small amounts) I had yesterday or I've got a bug. Will see how I am today and go from there xxxx

tattooedapril87 · 28/11/2012 07:41

hope you're feeling better trish

edinfirst · 28/11/2012 07:48

Good luck today enjay and anyone else with scans today. trish hope you are feeling better soon.

I am a bit worried as I think I might be starting to get SPD. Have had sore hips for ages but that just felt like part of being pregnant. Have now got stabbing pains in the front of my pelvis and a horrible ache underneath it-just awful. Have docs appointment on Fri and gonna fight to get a physio referral but worried that 21 weeks seems awfully early to develop something that's likely to get worse. I think at least one of you lovely ladies mentioned this before (hope it is not too bad for you at this stage!) so wondered if there are any tips (or sympathy).

Hope you all have a lovely day (20+6)

edinfirst · 28/11/2012 07:49

Sorry, cross post, good luck tattooed too!

bunnygirl80 · 28/11/2012 08:34

edin my SPD flared up by about 9 weeks, although it hasn't actually got worse so far. Some days are worse than others, mainly if I do a lot of walking around. The main advice is to try and keep your legs parallel, so always sit with both feet planted on the ground rather than legs crossed, and keep your legs together! Definitely worth seeing a physio, I got some exercises to do, and they can give you a very sexy girdle to wear to give your pelvis some support.

trish hope you feel better soon

It's the last day of our holiday in the UK today, so I'm readying myself for another 24hr journey with a 2yr old. Can't wait to see the sunshine again, I'd forgotten how dark and cold winter gets here

Giddypants · 28/11/2012 08:50

Morning everyone, and welcome all newbys

jhyde hope you are ok, it's one of my fears having a car accident

mama good to hear the wee boy is hanging in there, thinking of you and keeping everything crossed.

We are the house of germs here, DS has a bug and can't keep anything down and I have diarrhoea, oh well at least it has solved the constipation problem, silver linings and all that!

Is anyone doing kick counts yet, I know it's early, but wondered if anyone knew the rule, is it 10 kicks before 6pm?
I'm only really getting kicks on my right side, but as I have a left lateral placenta, it makes sense. DH felt his first one last night, we've seen the kicks for about a week or two, but it was nice for him to feel one. Smile

Trishstar · 28/11/2012 09:16

Thanks ladies xx think its more likely a bug as OH's niece is ill and pooing and she kept kissing me yesterday xxxx

Still feeling crappy and from tomorrow got 4 very busy days at work ahead of me!!!

My little boy is keeping me smiling tho and now I he's a he I've been talking to him even more!!! Lol xxxx

Can't wait for proper kicks xxx

angeltattoo · 28/11/2012 11:29

Hi everyone,

Am on phone so will have a proper catch up later, but I had my scan today, baby measuring perfect!

I have an anterior placenta, which I suspected, which is a relief.

And...you can add another GIRL the list! I was expecting it to be a boy, i am delighted and a little shocked Grin

Good luck to any others today, i know I had some san date buddies.
