I'm either trimming or veeting. Only because I used to work with one of the community midwives Grin and knowing my luck, she'll be the one who comes out when I'm in labour!

Anyway, i'll deal with it on tuesday, and inspect what needs fixing!

I do have a good veet twice a year usually, and trim in between, but after having my pubes pulled this afternoon, I definitely don't want a repeat of that.... I forgot to mention that bit, didn't I?!

LittleLolly · 11/10/2012 17:51

I usually wax every 4-6 weeks. Went from 20 to 35 weeks with nothing and then she had a forest to deal with, oops. Booked in again at 39 weeks. He will probably come the day before! I usually have a Brazilian but just having a 'neaten around the edges' as cant face the pain!

I'm fairly sure the midwives and doctors could not care less about our fanjo hair... Maybe they would raise their eyebrows at a vajazzle though! Haha

ValiumQueen · 11/10/2012 17:54

I am sure they get a lot of pregnant ladies getting waxes. I am sure a lot of ladies only have it done when pg, as at other times they can manage to keep things tidy themselves.

MissMummy1 · 11/10/2012 17:55

I'm debating booking a wax about 38 weeks. Going to get my hair and toenails done that week so might as well spoil (if you can call it that?!) myself!

horseylady · 11/10/2012 17:56

Oh ok perhaps I'll book in then? Shaved it last night so will need to go end of next week then?!

It's very traumatic all of this!!

TheDetective · 11/10/2012 17:58

I can't remember noticing what the picture frame looks like Grin.

Except one time.

But we won't go there!

But it really doesn't matter! It is only for my benefit I am sorting the jungle out!

Titsalinabumsquash · 11/10/2012 18:02

We used to get a lot of pregnant ladies booking in for a leg/bikini wax and a pedicure at about 38 weeks. I am a wave a razor in the general area type of lady myself although I'd get shot in the salon if I said that but in my defence, I have sensitive skin beyond anything you can imagine so waxing is a no no for me.
I'm sure midwives don't carry around a spread sheet or hold a "lady garden of the week" awards ceremony so I'm not too bothered about a bit of untidiness down there. Grin

Cacacaz · 11/10/2012 18:03

I have been a lazy git today, still sitting in my pjs, didn't get up until after 11am! In saying that I have defrosted the freezer, so that is one more job ticked off my to do list and there is now plenty room for me to stock up with food. Tomorrow I am planning on cleaning the windows inside.

Our pram arrived yesterday, I couldn't wait for Dh to come home from work so built it and pushed it around the house for a good half hour I absolutely love it.

Donna Darcey is a gorgeous name

Gt I, glad you are able to get home for a few days before your induction

VQ take it easy for the time being

Passmethecrisps · 11/10/2012 18:06

My poor midwife will be lucky if I have trimmed toenails!

I have never had a wax other than my eyebrows. I will shave my legs as normal. I never touch fanjo hair - never have.

My goodness what a lazy day! I had a nap earlier for about 40 minutes then fell asleep again watching ghost busters. I do feel a bit better now. DH is now cooking tea which I said I would make. Mind you I think I might take over in a minute.

Got my hospital bag packed today. I needed to use the free boots bag for baby things as there isn't enough room in the one I have. For a person who is hoping to be home within hours I am certainly taking plenty.

ValiumQueen · 11/10/2012 18:07

'spread sheet'

I am not taking it easy. I am carrying on as usual. My toilets are so clean you could eat a dominos off them.

Cacacaz · 11/10/2012 18:07

Oh almost forgot, I get my vagine waxed but the therapist that does mine uses hot wax rather than strips there is no way anyone would get near me with strip wax, its far too painful seriously ladies hot wax is the way forward!

ValiumQueen · 11/10/2012 18:08

They will probably call me Rapunzel on the post natal ward.

ValiumQueen · 11/10/2012 18:09

'vagine' is that the French spelling or something?

StuntNun · 11/10/2012 18:13

I must be really weird as my pubic area is entirely 'au naturel'. I tried Veet on my legs once but it didn't do anything at all apart from make my skin a bit red so I never used it again. I fear pain too much for a wax of any part of my body. My leg hair has been growing so slowly that one shave a week is keeping my pins in order; oxters (or armpits if you're a sassenach) are done daily. I'm not a very hairy person generally so I tend to leave my eyebrows alone as well. Oh well the midwife will just have to put up with it. I'm sure try see all sorts with piercings, tattoos, the works.

I have had an awful time with the kids today. The little bastards angels got 'lost' in the toy aisle of Tescos and I was wandering around the shop in increasing pelvic pain (damn trolley) looking and calling for them. I had to get them paged by customer services in the end. Anyway after a case of the screaming heeby jeebies I am in bed trying to relax while DH makes his famous 'call to the Chinese takeaway' for dinner. Can barbecue spare ribs cure all ills? And why oh why did I think it would be a good idea to have another little horror angel? Seriously my DS1 is nine going in four, he can be a right handful. DS2 is an adorable well-behaved little darling (most of the time).

Sorry about the whingey post. It was a rough day today between the kids, Braxton Hicks and the ol' pelvis. Chinese takeaway and a bath might do the trick. Wish I could have a bottle glass of wine as well.

Passmethecrisps · 11/10/2012 18:16

Well, VQ you and me both. I'm certainly not starting beauty treatments now when I have never had them.

I might get my eyebrows waxed but that will be it. I feel very slutty in comparison to all you chic ladies! Having said that I was wondering bout packing a mascara as I am rarely seen without it.

I am actually due a hair cut the same week of my due date. I don't know wether to move it forward or back. Maybe an appointment a couple of weeks after the baby is born would make me feel nice.

TheDetective · 11/10/2012 18:17

To be honest, midwives are just grateful that you've had a wash. At some point in the last year Grin

horseylady · 11/10/2012 18:18

Oh maybe I'll just leave it then? I do feel quite traumatised at the thought of being waxed. My legs hurt enough!!

Stunt sorry you've had a bad day :( hopefully BBQ ribs will help!!!

Right need to get ready for last nct class.

Oh I spoke to the chef, said sorry for losing my temper (which I am) he was fine. It's very wet here today!!

Passmethecrisps · 11/10/2012 18:22

Sounds rubbish stunt. Spare ribs should surely go some way to helping. I would also be having a wee wine as well. What chat have you given your eldest? Is there a reason for the misbehaviour - sorry if you have mentioned already. Either way, I hope you can chill this evening.

georgee · 11/10/2012 18:29

Another au naturel one here. Might use some nail scissors to get rid of the worst (that's the stuff you could comb!) at the front (if I can pull it outwards and get a pair of scissors behind it) but then again I might not. Five days ago my hair 'product' ran out. I've half-heartedly tried to get some more but TBH I'm quite liking the unstructured look (I'm talking about my head hair now BTW!). Although DH came from work the other day and called me 'Shaun Ryder'. Hm.

Limpit80 · 11/10/2012 18:32

Oh my gosh! Another new thread! I cant keep up! Congrats to those who have their little ones already - so exciting!

I cant imagine anything worse than getting waxed at the moment, I cant even see my lady parts, so the hair is probably ridiculously long. Will defo dust off the bikini trimmers before the big day!

Have had a really disappointing day. OH and I took the afternoon off work to attend an NHS antenatal class and it was so terrible, Im not going back for the next 2 sessions as its a complete waste of time. The midwife was rude and uninterested and didnt even smile for the first half an hour. She arrived late, didnt apologise, sat there in silence for 5 mins and then said 'should I get started or wait for more people to turn up? (there were 2 couples and 1 lady by herself). I said 'how many more are we waiting for?' and she said: 'I dont know'! When she finally got started, she basically read through the session notes and after half an hour (the session was supposed to be 2)said, 'well have we covered everything or is there anything else you want to know?' ! The whole session was terrible, she spent most of it sighing with her face in her hands and asking vague questions to the room without actually addressing anyone. TBH the whole thing has put me off having the baby in that hospital. Was perfectly happy to before.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 11/10/2012 18:32

tits don't be giving detective ideas for running lad garden of the week comps!

DesperateHousewife21 · 11/10/2012 18:34

Yes def opt for hot wax it's much less painful, also give it a trim with nail scissors before you go, short hair is a lot less painful to be ripped out than long hair!

I'll go at 37ish weeks as ds came early I don't want to take any chances, ill prob be late now and still have too much growth!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 11/10/2012 18:35

Obviously I meant lady.

kissyfur · 11/10/2012 18:36

Evening ladies,

Sounds like its been an eventful day!? How you feeling vq?

I've been to the day unit today as baby wasn't moving at all this morning, typically started moving as soon as I got in the car to the hospital, but they monitored baby for 45 mins and everything was fine, did give me abit of a scare tho! Also at 34+3 I'm measuring 37, think this baby is going to be a whopper!

Don't think I could handle the pain of a bikini wax whilst pg! Do need to do something about my lady garden tho as its starting to resemble a jungle! Can't see past the bump tho unfortunately.

Bluetinkerbell · 11/10/2012 18:36

I've got permission from little who lost little Daisy back in June, to share the good news that she's expecting a sibling for Daisy in June next year. :)
