Sorry to hear that Brockle. On the turning baby, if you look up "optimum position" on Google you will find lots about scrubbing floor and generally being on all fours good for getting babies to move. Personally being a fan of all things alternative, I would look into acupuncture or reflexology as these have some success and definately worth a try. Im having both next week! Wink HTH

horseylady · 10/10/2012 13:08

Brockle look at acupuncture to move the baby. More successful than manual tries.

Apple - seems a bit harsh when he's still just a pup? They do destroy things!! ESP when bored!! Just don't leave him in an area where he can destroy something important or alone with the baby and his things. I came downstairs the other day to find a load of paper shredded. It was in the paper bin, she emptied it and shredded the contents. Shes also eating the smelly dried flower stuff as well. The dogs will find it difficult to adjust to the new person as well. Just give him time to grow up a bit.

Mine live in the utility room when were not around. Otherwise they destroy everything!!

Brockle · 10/10/2012 13:09

Tell me about it..they do say 3rd babies are the awkward ones. I have started a thread asking for suggestions.

Congrats on the pool detective and the response from the supervisor, sounds like you are getting somewhere.

So swiss she is giving you back something you already own as a gift? Thisis a genius idea. I am going to start wrapping up anything anyone has lent me and give them back as christmas presents.

ShellyBobbs · 10/10/2012 13:13

I knew I had something else to say. I tried putting some of that lavender essential oil on my pillow last night, yuk! It didn't do anything and my youngest said our bedroom now smells like nana's Grin, so I mixed some with baby oil, lobbed it in the bath today and then all over me when I got out (safe to use, I checked first). Phewwww, I'm bloody knackered now.

These are the essential oils that may cause contractions

'Oils to be avoided include cinnamon, clove, rosemary and clary sage, all of which can cause contractions.'

So of course these wouldn't be advised once we got to say...........38 weeks at all tut tut.

ShellyBobbs · 10/10/2012 13:14

(comedy wink Wink)

ShellyBobbs · 10/10/2012 13:17

Brockle I've also read about acupuncture being vastly successful over manual types of torture manouvre, it's a very high success rate.

Passmethecrisps · 10/10/2012 13:19

swiss that is so mean! You have it to her so she can't give it back 'as a gift'.

apple I hope that doggy calms down. It must be such a worry.

shelly bumpy fanjos, swollen fanjos, leaky fanjos - there is no end to the fanjo problems.

brockle I read about cleaning floors on your hands and knees as well. Or watching telly in the same position. Good luck!

I just did a massive load of Christmas and birthday shopping. Three cheers for the Internet! I have bought for all my family and friends. Just DH's side to get organised now. Almost all my friends and family have birthdays in October, November and December.

NervousAt20 · 10/10/2012 13:27

If baby is breech and your offered I think it's called an ECG? I could be very wrong but basically they try to make the baby turn can you refuse that or do you have to have it done?

NervousAt20 · 10/10/2012 13:27

passme you are organized! Points for that lol

ValiumQueen · 10/10/2012 13:29

I have a wrap sling and also a little version for DD but never got on with it. May try it again as could prove useful with DD2 around.

Just waiting for DH to finish with a client before I drive him to his next one. He has agreed to take the bus after today as I am hurting being in the car. I am ok driving but he wants to drive to get the practice in. It also means I am only home on my own for a couple of hours maximum. For three days a week which is not enough time to rest or nest.

applepieinthesky · 10/10/2012 13:33

I know horsey. He's only just a year old. I think we just gave him too much freedom too soon. We have been leaving him out of the crate all day and all night and had no problems whatsoever until last night. Overnight is a long time for a pup to be left to his own devices so back to crating at night time now.

Ohhhh, we'll be on the new one by tonight I reckon Wink

applepieinthesky · 10/10/2012 13:40

Nervous you can refuse. They cannot force anything on you.

horseylady · 10/10/2012 13:43

Seriously apple - big dog ate our kitchen!! Thankfully it was being ripped out!! I would never ever leave either of my two in the house for more than 30minutes!! They would have to go in their room. Which is a good size, but apart from two door frames there's little for them to chew!! They have loads of toys but I think in the house they search for us and that in turns means things get torn.

That's what I've been told anyway I all honesty not sure I believe it as I've never in my life gone into the bin, but I see why the theory comes from!! My smell is there from throwing stuff out!

GTbaby · 10/10/2012 13:44

My tens machine came today. Eeekkk. N my soft carry cot, to use with push chair n Moses basket. My teddy is testing it out for us ATM Grin.

kissyfur · 10/10/2012 14:03

Is your sister being serious swiss?! If so she is taking the p! I'd have words. Am Angry for you

SwissArmyWife · 10/10/2012 14:18

Shelly I was wondering that myself, as it's always been "oh yes of course you can have it back, I will bring it over/oh but it's in my loft/my mum's loft" and now it's "well I'm making you a nappy cake and am going to include it in that" Hmm I didn't even ask for a nappy cake, just my bloody sling!
And thank you for asking, DP and I are doing very well now, we've worked through a lot and are in a good place. :)

Oh and as for the oils, it's as the song goes isn't it? "parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme" all of these can bring on labour, apparently! Have to keep that in mind if I become over due...

SwissArmyWife · 10/10/2012 14:21

kissy yes it is infuriating, me and DP have asked for it back a hundred times and have been given a hundred excuses. I'll have to borrow something of hers and give it back for Xmas Grin

ShellyBobbs · 10/10/2012 14:24

Oh yes, on the first day of 38 weeks I'll be sat in a bath of my own little 'herb' soup, it will be red hot and I will be eating pineapples whilst tweaking my nipples as I bounce Grin. (Will I bollocks)

ShellyBobbs · 10/10/2012 14:25

I have had a poo today, but I feel as though I must have an enormous arse explosion soon. I simply must Grin!

SwissArmyWife · 10/10/2012 14:30

I reckon the old reverse psychology is the way to go. "Goodness me, I just looovee being so heavily pregnant, I could wait forever until I give birth.. oh dear, my waters have just broken, what a shame!"

capedcrusader25 · 10/10/2012 14:49

Mine is breech too brockle - I'm 35 tomorrow. She's been breech for weeks and weeks and has never made any attempt to move from her current position so midwife thinks she'll stay this way. Got to go back a week monday and if she still is go for the scan at hospital and book a c-section. They don't do vaginal breech births at my hospital. Decided against the ECV to have her turned. I second everyone else's suggestions, look at the Spinning Babies webiste too. Hope everyone is doing ok today :)

Passmethecrisps · 10/10/2012 14:55

Good idea swiss.

Ok . . . . I don't ever want to actually see my baby - I'm quite happy with it squishing my organs.

I completely don't miss being able to tie my shoe laces.

I didn't even really like wine anyway

MissMummy1 · 10/10/2012 15:11

Absolutely furious. DH's mythical "landrover friend" surprisingly doesn't want to buy the stupid piece of crap clogging up my driveway anymore. Why am I not surprised? I am being perfectly reasonable sticking the fecking thing on gumtree aren't I?!? And if noone buys it by the weekend, I'd be perfectly within my rights to have the scrapman collect it?

I hate the fact I am in such a shit mood. And he's oblivious that it's him who's caused it. I swear it is taking all my willpower not to leave the bastard right now. Angry

Hormonal and sleep deprived much? Sorry for ranting.. Blush
