Catbag lol at 'generally quite like him'! On Friday just after my DH had got home from work I wandered into the kitchen and said, I'm really tired I think I'll have a cup of coffee. I didn't realise but DH had just made a cup of coffee and put milk in it and he didn't say anything, just handed it to me and went back to the filter machine to make himself another cup. I was completely gobsmacked and said, I think that's the nicest thing you've ever done for me. (He really likes his coffee and is completely addicted.) It's funny how one day they're infuriating you and the next they're all lovely again.

I just had a fight with the freezer. It was a close call but I think I won Hmm and it has been defrosted. We only have a tiny freezer so there's no bulk cooking going on here. I think I'll have to get a Tupperware box or something to put expressed milk into or it'll end up jammed between ice lollies and frozen onion rings!

shelly now that should go on a T-shirt! Grin

MM he is probably beginning to worry, about you, baby , and how he will cope, but men can have odd ways of showing it. I hope you get an apology in the form of a bag.

Passmethecrisps · 10/10/2012 11:03

I am still in bed and just ignored the doorbell because I was reading your posts. I think I win 'laziest mare in the world' award. I will get up now!

YellowWellies · 10/10/2012 11:16

Hahahahaha Shelly that mice comment should indeed be put on comedy preggo clothing.

MM1 I think the changing bag is a must :)

Horsey I'm looking at slings too today - I quite fancy a mei tai given I'm very cack handed and unlikely to cope with a wrap sling. Anyone had one before? There are some nice ones on Ebay for about £20, don't want to spend £80 on a babyhawk one. Thoughts on mei tais ladies?

Iheartpasties · 10/10/2012 11:17

mm yes, maybe he is stressing out about the baby arriving, but he should not take it out on you!! I'm sure most men do stress out and dont say anything.

Iheartpasties · 10/10/2012 11:20

www.hugabub.com/

this is the sling I have treated myself to this time around, I will have to watch a dvd to learn how to wrap it though!!

We also love the Ergo - store.ergobaby.com/ and we love it! not so much for a newborn though.

Bluetinkerbell · 10/10/2012 11:26

Hmmm I did not just eat 2 Belgian chocolate eclairs all by myself... Whoopsie :)

DH still in bed, he's got a cold bless him, got him some Lemsip at the pharmacy. Now I'm chilling out on the sofa.

YellowWellies · 10/10/2012 11:36

Your secrets safe with me tink; equally, I've not just eaten 3 kitkats....

horseylady · 10/10/2012 11:37

Moby wrap I think? Or the Kari me. Having just read loads on little possums.

Passmethecrisps · 10/10/2012 11:43

I have been given an Ellaroo wrap sling. I need to practice though.

Am now up. Apologies to ladies with children - I truly am a lazy moose.

I would wear a t-shirt with that on.

Passmethecrisps · 10/10/2012 11:45

tink you did not eat two 'all by yourself. You had one and 3/4 and baby had the other 1/4. And I bet both of you thought it was delicious!

YellowWellies · 10/10/2012 11:47

I've been given a mobysling from my sister couldn't tell you where I've put it eeeek but want something a bit less faffy too for those moments when my brain entirely deserts me so think I'm going to for a mei tai too. Only £20 on ebay so we shall see...

NervousAt20 · 10/10/2012 11:47

MM I think the pink lining changing bag is a must use his credit card Grin

I had the worst night last night that I've had in a long time, think I got about 4 hours all in all Sad lazy day today includes: chocolate, blanket, dog and kindle

kissyfur · 10/10/2012 11:54

I got a Close Parent wrap sling when I had DD but I never used it as it completely squashed my boobs which isn't good when breastfeeding (led to blocked ducts for me! Owww)

Think I might get a Baby Bjorn one this time around

WaitingForMe · 10/10/2012 11:57

Had my first NCT meeting last night. It finished at 10pm! I'm dead today.

Iheartpasties · 10/10/2012 11:59

I will say with wraps and carriers you just never know if they will work until you try them, some babies hate them and some seem to hard to work out!! I used to like to have mine with me - because when a new born is crying in the pram its great to get them out and carry them hands free!?

DesperateHousewife21 · 10/10/2012 12:01

I've finally bought a 'changing bag' in quotes because its from Asos and not actually made to be a changing bag but is still v v nice. Originally £55 down to 38 then a further 10% off made it 34 so a bargain too!

kirrinIsland · 10/10/2012 12:08

I have a mai tei and an ergo. Both are great - highly recommended. The Mai tei is great for newborns - I didn't use a buggy til DD was about 4 months old. Then when they get bit heavier the ergo is fab - many a time I've done a 4 hour train journey with 3 changes including the underground with my trusty ergo and DD happy as you like!

I am very jealous of bum explosions - still nothing going on here, and I think I'd feel a whole lot better if I could goM

ShellyBobbs · 10/10/2012 12:23

I signed up the other day for the MN bookclub and can't believe that they actually sent me a book! It closed hours after I applied so I thought, 'no chance!'.

Wahoo, guess I'm crashing on the settee reading until school finishes (then off to music club and then gymnastics after that after dashing home in-between to put tea on).

Oh, I've also discovered on having a bath that I have some lumps that look like small boils round the entrance of my fanjo! Any ideas what these monstrosities could be? Envy

horseylady · 10/10/2012 12:23

That one looks good yw. How come they're so much cheaper on eBay?

Think I might get a moby one too.....

ShellyBobbs · 10/10/2012 12:30

Gahhh, seems like it's just cysts. I'm sure someone will mention it when they are shining lights and staring up there in a few weeks. Doesn't hurt so I'll leave it until the midwife is having a poke around.

SwissArmyWife · 10/10/2012 12:41

Hello ladies, have been reading as usual but not had the time/memory to post!

A little late but congratulations to evil , thechick and donna on the arrivals of your lo's!!

Also good luck to GT for Sunday, and VQ you aren't far off your section are you? Exciting stuff!

And catbag , probably not what you want to hear but you should be proud your twins are still hanging in there! Although I do hope they arrive soon :)

On the subject of slings, I have a much loved Moby wrap, however I lent it to DP's sister and am very annoyed that I have been asking for it back since I was about three months pg and she keeps holding off, only to reveal she is planning on giving it to me as a gift when I have the baby Angry
I paid for it, used it with my first, and want it back! -tantrum-

Anyway, all is ok with me, 36 weeks on Friday and having wc jab tomorrow.
I do however feel like a pea on a drum most of the time and hope the next month goes quickly. Grin

applepieinthesky · 10/10/2012 12:43

Shelly I didn't know mn have got a book club. I joined the ivillage one and they sent me a book this week. Was actually really good and I've been engrossed in it all week.

Called Tesco Direct about the dishwasher. Our phone number on the Tesco account was our old number so when placing the order when it asks for a delivery phone number I made sure I put the new one in carefully. But Tesco gave Indesit our old number so they've been trying to contact us for nearly 2 weeks to arrange delivery and haven't been able to get through to us Hmm Apparently it's now coming on Friday but DP is only here til 12 and it's my last day at work so I won't be here either. So then it will be another week before we get it. Bloody Tesco.

Off sick today with upset stomach. Came downstairs to find the dog has destroyed one of our sofas. We needed new sofas anyway but it's not the point. DP said if he damages any of the baby's things when he arrives then we will have to get him rehomed as the baby is far more important than the dog. I know he's right but I've spent all morning in floods of tears and have only just stopped.

Brockle · 10/10/2012 12:53

Hmm positive and not so positive consultant appointment. A resounding no to a water birth as with DS1 I had a PPH (I was fine with DS2 - not anaemic) - a big boo to that. Then she had a feel and baby is breach. I am only 34 plus 1 but it explains how breathless and crap I have been feeling. Plenty of time to move but still seriously peed off. She did however say that I could have an induction at term or just after due to DS2 being a bit of a porker so seeing her at 39 weeks for a check on position and sweep if he has turned.

Anyone know the best way to move a baby without it being mega painful due to PGP?

ShellyBobbs · 10/10/2012 13:03

Apple If you click on topics it's just there, I think I'll trot over to ivillage now :)

Brockle No good advise I'm afraid, pregnancy is a bummer!

Swiss Does she really mean she's lost it/given it away and now has to spend that money on a new one for you so she won't be spending any more? Just ask her straight, where the f* is my sling? How are things with you and DP recently, was only thinking of you this morning and wondering how you were both getting on?
