New thread is here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/1579909-November-2012-arrivals-are-now-underway

Sophia inductions aren't supported by the latest research if you've had a previous section but your hospital's policy may be different. I had a section with DS1 but was put on the syntocin drip with DS2 because they were worried I wasn't going to have him fast enough Hmm. It took four and a half hours in the end so it wasn't a spectacularly long labour. This article about VBAC is quite interesting: www.caesarean.org.uk/articles/VBACOnWhoseTerms.html

By the way there is also a post-natal thread here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/postnatal_clubs/1579907-November-2012-babies-are-here-at-last for the any baby talk by our new mummies.

Take care Evil get some rest and I hope you have a great day tomorrow and the chance to meet your new addition before you next go to bed xxxxxxx

kirrinIsland · 04/10/2012 23:00

Good luck evil - try and get some rest.

detective I'm not surprised you're fuming, it sounds awful - like they are working against you. Must be doubly frustrating when you work in the field and know the score :(

Evil Wow very excited for you.

I had a fab nights sleep last night, thank fuck for that. I needed it after the night before. I was supposed to see my midwife on weds to talk through everything that happened with my last birth - but she was dealing with a birth so couldnt see me, we have re-aranged for Monday (I also have to have my aniti d injection). I'm trying to get my head straight and decide what I want to ask her about!!

Iheartpasties · 05/10/2012 00:47

and its fucking boiling hot here today - I cant cope with it!! It was 27 degrees at 8.30 this morning.

ShellyBobbs · 05/10/2012 06:06

Before I go back and catch up over the last couple of days, I'm so FUCKED OFF with this FUCKING whooping cough and my FUCKING surgery. I've now been up all night getting angrier and angrier about it. I'll not bore you with the details, needless to say the fucktard staff are still denying all knowledge although every other practice in the area is now giving out the jabs. I've updated in the relevant thread about it.

Bastards!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 05/10/2012 06:26

Oh look we've nearly finished.......

Sophiathesnowfairy · 05/10/2012 06:32

DS has started waking up at 6:00 and instead of chilling for a bit in his cot like he used to he cries till I get him up. What to do?

The first few times he did it we brought him into our bed but I have stopped that. Strangely it seemed to coincide with the mornings getting darker, I'm wondering about one of those clocks?

I know it's not super early but I used to get up before him, dressed, hair and makeup (i have toshower in the evening no time in the am unless DH is on Duty) then get him. I felt In control of my day then. No longer. And, yes, I know it will just get worse so maybe I should just go with it Grin

FatimaLovesBread · 05/10/2012 06:33

Shelly my practice are also being shit with the WC ad flu jab Sad

Will update later, too tired at the moment. Slept ok but had a few BH and now got tummy ache

ShellyBobbs · 05/10/2012 06:49

Ohhhhh Evil, good luck, you just about managed to squeeze labour into this thread Grin

Detective bastard 'colleagues', what a right load of bollocks, all you want to do is have a baby at home!

I saw my midwife yesterday and was ranting on about the WC vac that much that I totally forgot to rebook an appointment and to discuss my homebirth....fuck!

ShellyBobbs · 05/10/2012 06:50

Right, I'm starting to email the press about my shitty bolloxing crap GP surgery, starting with my local rag!

horseylady · 05/10/2012 07:16

Detective sorry to hear they're being gits?!

Evil good luck!!!!!

Passmethecrisps · 05/10/2012 07:22

Maybe he's a bit scared of the dark sophia? Or bored because he can't look at things? Maybe a wee light would help. I have no proper advice though havig only a cat waking me up currently

Passmethecrisps · 05/10/2012 07:23

Last day at work. Crikey mikey.

ValiumQueen · 05/10/2012 07:25

Hopefully labour has started for you evil and you are pretty much full term, so no worries about a premmie. Hope the UTI is clearing. Perhaps that helped bring things on?

Not impressed by your surgery shelly

Hope you feel better soon pasties

DD2 slept until 7! Unheard of!

ValiumQueen · 05/10/2012 07:26

Hope last day is lovely pass

Dixiebell · 05/10/2012 08:01

How old is DS sophia? Mine (2 yesterday) goes through phases of a few days to a week of waking early, then goes back to usual. It's been 5 or 5.30 this week since Sun, but this morning was 6.30. Anything after 6 is ok for us tho! However, maybe a permanent change of routine, it is disruptive when you're used to a routine, isn't it? DS is much better these days at letting me get dressed etc while he plays. Although often resort to watching Peppa on the computer! Also have to say at 5am yesterday it occurred to me that clocks are changing soon anyway and maybe that'd sort out his sleeping :)

ValiumQueen · 05/10/2012 08:02

sophia I think it is probably just a new phase for your boy. Mine are good sleepers for a while, then will not settle, then get up early. I have a gro clock, and has not helped with either, but others swear by them.

MissMummy1 · 05/10/2012 08:11

How exciting evil - do keep us updated!!

Ordered our cot mattress with my dad last night. Can't remember the make but it's a pocket sprung temp control one. Also got a whole load of baby stuff down from his loft that we'd stuck up there and forgotten about when we moved. So we now have a baby bath, loads of knitted cardis and jumpers and a FAB selection of books (inc. my beloved roald dahl treasury I had as a kid). Now on the lookout for a bookcase for juniors room as the wee built in one is overflowing and we have 2 boxes full of children's books!

DesperateHousewife21 · 05/10/2012 08:18

evil when my waters went with ds they told me to come in straight away because of risk of infection. Maybe give them a ring again and see what they say (unless you're there having the baby already!)

Ds slept til 7:40 this morning!! Although he was rubbish during the night so still don't feel rested (two toilet trips)

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 05/10/2012 08:23

I've hada bad night sleep wise. Up to pee a million times, in pain anytime I moved and DD was up coughing and spluttering. Has had a cough since Wed but sounds much worse today so I've got her GP appt this morning.

Can't believe evil will probably have her baby today!! Wow!!

horseylady · 05/10/2012 08:24

One week left :) joint leaving do tonight!! The lady who wasn't nice to me last week is no longer coming!! Which I think sums her up!!

Still full from the curry last night but attempted to eat breakfast as I know I'll go dizzy later!!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 05/10/2012 08:35

Ooh evil we want an update!

Thanks everyone for you thoughts about DS. Its nice to know other resort tithe tv babysitter as well, not just me!

ValiumQueen · 05/10/2012 08:44

MM I would be in no hurry to get a bookcase, unless for aesthetic purposes, as junior is a long way off treating them well. First they chew, then they rip.rip, then they draw in them. Even the board books I would pack away for a while. The cloth books are lovely for small ones.

Hope little one is ok izzy
