Blimey - you lot move fast! Anyway Hockeymum - good luck for tomorrow, really hope everything goes well for you.

Alicats - really sorry to hear about your loss - you must be in absolute pieces Sad

Lovecloud - also getting the leaky problem and have resorted to liners. This happened last time around too but much later on - but given how low this baby's head is currently, I'm not surprised I'm suffering so early!!

Just a quick note from me - one week of client work left and then a few days back in the office doing housekeeping bits and pieces and then I'm off. Now nearly 35 weeks and time is just flying by which is a bit worrying. Had a nightmare Easter weekend trying to potty train dd very unsuccessfully, so I've handed the reins over to her nursery this week to see what happens - I'm thinking peer pressure, given that about 8 other children are also potty training right now - might be the encouragement that she needs. Apart from that, everything is OK - bump hasn;t really grown over the last 2 weeks but the head is very low already....probably why I'm feeling so much more uncomfortable this time around.

Hope everyone else is OK. Lovely to catch up with all the news.....

Just wanted to say to Hockeymum good luck for tomorrow and to everyone else it is so good to have this list – it makes me feel so much better about things that I really don’t feel able to talk to anyone but DH about …Lovecloud and Cori I’ve been wearing panty liners for a couple months now. Runtus I had a bikini wax last weekend for exactly the same reason and I’ve cooked 40 home-made freezer/microwave dinners so that’s 20 nights DH and I don’t have to worry. Thanks for everything guys and love to all of you who have had a rough ride. I’m sure it’ll be worth it!

littlemisspiggy · 20/04/2006 12:50

Hockeymum, Good Luck for tomorrow!!!!

Runtus, PMSL at "Wild woman of Borneo"! I don't think I could brave a wax and the thought of having to lie flat on my back with my bump all exposed. Am contemplating a procedure involving a mirror, a pair of scissors or hair removal cream.

louismummy · 20/04/2006 13:07

i've got my wax booked for the 4/5/06 and toes.... hopefully in time for the nice weather. and only 2 days before due date!!!

louismummy · 20/04/2006 13:08

toes painted!

Seashells · 20/04/2006 13:54

Good luck for tomorrow Hockeymum! Wow, how fast has that come around!? I'll be thinking of you all day.

I was put on iron tablets quite a while ago, I hate them with a passion, they make me so sick. And after all that, my iron level has actually dropped I found out yesterday, despite me forcing them down, and eating a diet higher in iron. The midwife said it is probably due to a well working placenta, as the baby is estimated at around 9lb, much bigger than my last 2, so has had a good blood supply, which has drained me.

I have decided to try and make the most of these last few weeks, maybe days, and just enjoy being pregnant as much as is possible, instead of wishing it away, as I expect this will be my last pregnancy.

Seashells · 20/04/2006 14:01

Oh and good on those of you daring a bikini wax Grin I let dp have a go at trimming me up down below the other day, he assures me it is all neat and tidy now, but until I get the mirror out, I dread to think what he's done, I saw the mess he made of mowing our lawn on sunday!

HandbagAddiction · 20/04/2006 14:15

Grin and Shock at Seashells DH lawnmowing skills!!!

tortoiseshell · 20/04/2006 14:19

Good luck for tomorrow hockeymum! Hope it goes ok, and Envy at getting to meet your little one!

I'm due on Sunday, so technically only a few days left, but I KNOW I'll be late! My mw is on holiday till Saturday, so any time after that will be fine with me. I THINK I'm all ready for the birth - have got towels etc stacked up in our bedroom, but feeling a little daunted at the prospect of having 3 , especially when I know that dh just can't really take more than a day or so off work - am dreading the school run, and fitting feeding round the schedules of ds and dd.

Am not feeling TOO bad for being nearly 40 weeks - still managing to sleep ok, though I'm waking up lots and lots, but not lying awake iyswim. I will be glad when it's out though!

evilstepmom · 20/04/2006 14:24

alicats - so sorry for your loss. thinking of you.
hockeymum - best of luck!

everyone else - iron tablets suck - they made me so sick! but that floradix business isnt too bad. baby kicking and punching like a cat in a bag -just like the rest of you I'm just countin the days now!!2 weeks to go!!

runtus · 20/04/2006 15:01

40 dinners - god you beat me and then some! And there was me feeling all proud for having done about 10 Blush. I'll be donning that apron with gusto next week now..........

Glad I'm not the only one mad enough to go through the waxing ordeal, got me thinking about a pedicure as well now though. Might treat myself to one I think.

hockeymum · 20/04/2006 15:21

I wasnt brave enough to go for a wax. I got dh busy with the razor last night and it looks so odd to be so bald! (sorry tmi)!

I've got to go in for 7.30am tomorrow so at least that's early enough not to get too many nerves! the operation could be any time before 6pm! Hopefully the first up, but I think that's wishful thinking. I'll get dh to post in the evening on here to say what happened and I'll do a proper birth story on monday when they let me out!

Well done those of you who have prepared so many meals, I'm just going to look hungrily at my visitors till they cook me something Smile

Thanks for all the good luck wishes, makes me Smile

runtus · 20/04/2006 16:09

Good luck and look forward to readin your story on Monday!

squidgeymiller · 20/04/2006 18:14

Good luck Hockeymum - can't believe it's tomorrow already that you get to meet your little man!!

I had a leg + bikini wax a week or so ago but was a waste of time - the stupid woman missed HUGE sections on my legs cos I couldn't get into all the required positions and only took the slightest bits of the edges of my bikini line. Coz I couldn't see what had been done til I got home it was too late to complain (and I was also pretty embarrassed - 1st time waxer!). Anyway, had to resort to scissors, a razor and a mirror Blush but def looking neater and happy enough not to bother with anything else!

Louismummy - v impressed at having painted your toenails - had to beg DH to cut mine for me the other week!

As for the dinners - I have lots of easy dinners in the cupboards but shamefully not home made - we'll be living on frozen pizzas and pastas (tortelloni etc) and beans on toast for a while!

Pulled a muscle at the bottom of my bump while trying to turn over last night, which makes moving even more difficult - deep joy!

lovecloud · 20/04/2006 19:34

Squidgeymiller - I had that same problem last time when pregnant with dd so this time I explained that to the beautician and told her I wanted it done properly, luckily being pregnant actually makes me more flexible so I get into all positions with no embarassment :)

I lie on my side and lift my leg up as high as possible to tackle that undercarriage and then I even hold my bum cheeks tight one at a time... all those hormones drive my hair growth wild and there is no way i will live with it so I feel sorry for the poor girl doing it but I always give her a big tip and so we have a little deal. It works out better for her rather than charging me more and losing it to the shop she gets more in her pocket.

I say dont be shy about it if your paying for it then you want it done Grin

lovecloud · 20/04/2006 22:01

Cant believe I forgot to say

"Good luck Alicats!!!!!!!!!"

We are all so envious that you will be holding your little one tomorrow.

Look forward to hearing all about it.

Take care and have a good nights sleep

x

lovecloud · 20/04/2006 22:02

Pregnant brains...

I mean

"Good luck Hockeymum"

momamia · 21/04/2006 08:47

Hi Everyone,

Here's an update from me.

I had to go into hospital yesterday as i had reduced movements, stomach cramps and sickness.
As soon as they put me on the monitor she didn't stop moving (thank god) it was such a relief.

They advised me to stop taking the iron tablets and just increase the iron in my diet.
They did another blood test to check my levels, i will get my results next friday when i go for my last hospital check to find out for definate whether i can have a VB or whether it will have to be a section.
At the moment things are looking good, when the midwife checked the baby's position yesterday, she was 2/5 engaged and she was no longer back to back. Yippee!!!!

Hows everybody else feeling?

:)

supersonic · 21/04/2006 09:58

Hi everyone have 5 minutes to catch up with how everyone is going and wanted to say to Alicats how so very sorry I am to hear about your sad loss and I hope you can stay strong !
Hockeymum good luck for today (although I know you will not be reading this)
Hope everyone is feeling well with not long to go now (2wks 2days due date) I have to admit I dont feel to bad but I suppose that could all change! I am now starting to wash and iron all neutral baby clothes and sheets and am about to pack my hospital bag - it alls seems a little bit real now but I still cant imagine myself at home with another baby - it feels really strange.

I was wondering if aynone could help[ with a perhaps silly question can you breast feed without demand feeding? I ask because with my DD1 I b/f on demand (and it seemed she was permanently attached) for about 1year a 4 months after that I managed to reduce it because I was at work and the feed was more habit and sucking this time I want obe able to spend time with DD so cannot give allt his time to baby but am concerned youcant b/.f without demand feeding also read it is not rec. that you breast and bottle feed anyone any tips or experiences.

Imafairy · 21/04/2006 10:34

supersonic - can't really help you on the b-feeding (I gave up after 2 weeks) but my friends definitely breast and bottle fed (expressed milk) successfully from about 6 weeks on, so hopefully someone can give you move info.

Thinking that Hockeymum is going to have her baby today is a bit scary - makes it all real!!!!
Wonder how soon we'll hear???

fenny1 · 21/04/2006 11:10

Our thread is definitely going to get more exciting from now on Grin
There may be babies popping out all over the place, well not literally.....
I am booked for a 'wax everything' session next week, then the week after I am going to have some nice stuff done, pedicure, facial etc. The benefits of this being my first is that I only have me to look after and I am trying to make the most of it.
I thought I was doing well keeping up with Runtus, now I have to cook more!!!
Who knows? Hockeymum may have her baby boy in cuddles already Wink
DP gone for surfing lesson with his teenager daughter, let's hope he floats!

bubbles28 · 21/04/2006 12:14

Good Morning all.
Alicats. I was so sorry to read about your Mum, I do hope you are getting lots of support and love from those around you.
It certainly is all becoming very real now..... little baby clothes are in the wash as I'm typing.
Have had a bit of a worry last couple of days as am almost 36 wks and baby is breech.... head positioned nice and tight under my ribs..... not the most comfortable i've ever been!!!!We went to the hospital yesterday as they would like to try to turn him/her so have booked us in for May 2nd, as i'm small they seem to think he won't turn on his own and is actually quite comfy. I am a little anxious about it, i'm most concerned about bump being upset, but i suppose they know what they're doing.
i have also booked myself in for some nice treatments.... haircut, aromatherapy massage and reflexology (recommended by NCT Antenatal Teacher).... also want to get toes and nails tidied up..... but is it absolutely necessary to be waxed????Blush
How exciting that one of our 'May Babies' mat be born by now!!!! Smile
On a post birth train of thought has anyone tried or intending to try to establish aroutine using Gina Ford/Baby Whisperer or any other 'methods'????
Hope you're all well.

cori · 21/04/2006 12:39

I feel I ve got everything done now. Cotton nappies arrived today, as did my nursing chair.
Crib is set up, all DS baby clothes are washed. Decorating etc finished. etc. I will book myself in for eyebrows and eyelashes next week.
I am due on the fourth of May, but have some Acupuncture booked for 2t6th ( which will hopefully start things off.

Not intending on using any methods as such. My main goal will be to establish successful breast feeding whilst trying to entetain and meet the needs of a four year old.

Seashells · 21/04/2006 14:12

Has anyone else got swollen feet, mine are like elephants feet, the midwife has seen them and checked all is ok, but my socks don't fit now, and I hate it!

After a mad nesting spree, I have now found that I am so bored, the house is immaculate, I'm searching around for stupid little things to do, as if I can't possibly bring a baby home to a house where there is even one speck of dust!

Well, I've just been informed by dp that if I go into labour tomorrow, I will have to go on my own as he is watching the liverpool match Shock Grin I know he doesn't mean it.

I wonder how hockeymum is doing! Smile Hope you are all feeling ok.

lovecloud · 21/04/2006 15:08

Bored bored bored

I want my baby... NOW!

Had some great sex last night to help soften up the cervix Grin

I wish I could just relax and enjoy these last two weeks but I am soooooooo impatient.

What if I go over???
