Hello all. Congratulations on the positive scans Bona and Floss! My disadvantage of being in this group is being due right at the end of the month. I haven't even got my scan date yet!

I'm happy to be at home chilling on the sofa today. The lactulose is working a little too well and I'm glad I'm not at work! Confused Might be the antibiotics too. I'd better eat some probiotics!

ratbagcatbag · 18/09/2012 13:55

It will be here before you know it faith :) mine seems to have shot round.

somewherebecomingrain · 18/09/2012 14:25

bona and floss brilliant! you must be so pleased.

ratbag alarmed to hear that you're having disabling MS at 12+1. i'm 10+5 and i really think it's easing off. I seriously recommend the travel sickness armbands too - today i had my usual early PG nap (the luck of the work-at-home freelancer) and usually i wake up sicker than ever. but today, with the armbands, woke up feeling fine.

God i hope it dont come back. it's a menace. sorry for all those still suffering.

lovely all this good news. also pleased to hear they give you the nuchal measurement on the spot - i've got lunch with a good old friend on sunday and want to tell her, but won't get the bloods till monday.

toobreathless · 18/09/2012 14:29

Another positive scan here :) what a good day all round!!

Feels great to be past that 12 week scan mark.

Due date now 5.04.2012.

NT was 1.2, which combined with my age of 28 means I think I will be low risk.

Radiographer was lovely, took ages, showed us baby top to toe. Did however get a 'between the legs shot' & I think it might be a boy. I'm a doctor so fairly use to looking at ultrasounds. Probably being ridiculous though!!

toobreathless · 18/09/2012 14:29

Oops 11 + 4

Mama1980 · 18/09/2012 14:38

Congrats everyone who's had scans. So exciting Smile I had another scan this morning babe looking good and my due date has been confirmed as 1st of April (there was confusion) so I'm 12 weeks!

toobreathless · 18/09/2012 14:42

Yay Mama :)

Mama1980 · 18/09/2012 14:47

Thanks toobreathless. Smile are you going to find out at a later scan if it's a boy/girl? I've had so many scans I keep trying to work it out Grin my gut feeling is girl but only because it feels so different to my pregnancy with ds but everything else is probably skewing my instincts.

toobreathless · 18/09/2012 15:02

Yes we will find out. Did for DD & didn't regret it at all. My instinct was girl too as pregnancy identical to one with DD but now not as sure.

They gave me a 20 week scan date of 13.11.2012, which seems quite close!

Flosshilde · 18/09/2012 15:05

Thank you everyone and great news Bona, toobreathless and mama.

I was really nervous going in, but the sonographer turned the screen round almost immediately so I knew it was OK. It does feel like a milestone passed.

I have announced it on FB (though no scan pic) so the news is well and truly out. Have emailed scan pic to family. Just need to tell my staff at work tomorrow, I think they will be pleased for me but will naturally worry about cover, we are on a recruitment freeze at the moment.

I have also treated myself to 8, yes 8, Cheesestrings. They were fantastic.

I still have MS, was as sick as a dog on Sunday. I bumped into someone I knew at antenatal and she said she was still feeling poorly on and off at 20 weeks...

BonaDea · 18/09/2012 15:30

Incidentally, they just said to me the NT was "fine and within range". I had to actually ask what it was before they gave me the actual measureme, so just be warned you might need to do that too.

CamelKnees · 18/09/2012 15:37

I'm loving all this lovely scan news. It's really put a smile on my face! Gutted I'm at the end of the month though - the next 2 weeks are going to drag!!

alwayshopeful13 · 18/09/2012 16:22

So lovely to hear all the fab scan news, Bona, toobreathless and mama (hope I'm not forgetting anyone?! Thread has been busy today).

My own bit of impromptu and tentatively positive news....had a small bit of bleeding this morning (none since), got in a big old panic obv, went to EPU and had a scan this afternoon - all is fine, saw legs and arms (kicking/waving madly) and strong hb. No sign of any reason for bleed, so sonographer asked whether there was any chance it was from "lower down" the passage, e.g. cut in you-know-where area (sorry if tmi). Then dawned on me that I did feel a bit tender in that region this morning, so she reckons that was probably it. I felt a little sheepish to say the least.

Still 2 and a bit weeks to go to 12-week scan but definitely a bit more relaxed now. Booking appt Thurs so looking forward to that too.

Happy Tuesday to all x

BonaDea · 18/09/2012 16:37

alwayshopeful - scary morning, but lovely result. Glad that all seemed well when you saw it this afternoon! Isn't it amazing how much movement there is although we can't actually feel any of it yet!?

Good luck to all the lovely ladies with their scans still to come...

alwayshopeful13 · 18/09/2012 16:40

Bonadea - totally know what you mean! It looks so life like, kicking away, and yet is about 3cm long and I can't feel a thing. The miracle of nature I suppose.

Hope you're relaxing after your own positive scan experience!

alwayshopeful13 · 18/09/2012 16:40

Sorry didn't bold tag bonadea in last post.

somewherebecomingrain · 18/09/2012 16:58

lovely alwayshopeful i got an early scan in the same way at 9 weeks - isn't it the greatest
x

angeltattoo · 18/09/2012 18:15

Great to hear all your scan news!!!

I have my booking in on 24th, and got a scan date for 26th, however, DH cannot make scan, I made the appt for 1st Oct, he cannot make that date either...literally the only two days he cannot do!

So scan is now on 4th Oct...waiting over a week so he doesn't miss it, that is love!

Morning sickness a plenty here still, still being sick each morning but I do feel slightly better for the rest of the day, so am still hoping it will ease off soon...

wishfulthinking1 · 18/09/2012 18:18

Fab news on all the scans today- next Thursday seems aaaaaages away!

A little girl in school today called out, 'are you having a baby?' I could have kissed her! But naturally, just smiled and said "no, no, Mrs S probably just had too much cake at break time!" and had to roll my eyes at T.A in a , 'way to go to make me feel like a fatty' way. But I just wanted to scream, "yes, yes I am!"

Put a massive smile on my face!

Anyway, congratulations again on all the wonderful scan news- fingers crossed for the rest of us!

toobreathless · 18/09/2012 18:34

Flosshilde can I ask why no scan picture on fb? Been thinking if putting mine on in a few weeks, not sure if it's insensitive though? Saying that none of my friends (that I know about) are having infertility problems, recent miscarriages etc

What do you ladies think?

magictorch · 18/09/2012 19:25

Hello Ladies,

Haven't been on in ages as so busy with work, but it's so lovely to read about all the positive scans.

I have my first midwife/booking in appointment tomorrow, but no sign of a scan date yet. Seems like it's different for many of us? I'll mention it to her tomorrow as I'm dying to see the baby and as I'm already 11+2, I expect the 12 week scan will be late.

It's my first baby and I'm nearly 37, so I'm hoping they can do all the tests they're meant to if the scan is late. Trying not to worry about it, just impatient I guess and the doc won't talk to me about pregnancy. I haven't even got a name or number for the midwife yet. Is this unusual?

Can totally relate to those of you on a carb fest. Crumpets, spaghetti hoops and garlic bread are my new foodie loves!

Hoping all those with MS feel better soon x

11+2

HaveALittleFaith · 18/09/2012 19:31

Our plan is to announce on Facebook, not sure if we'll put the picture up. My reasoning is that I'm very protective of bump and I'm not sure I want the first photo of it ever (inside my uterus!) as property of Facebook. Afaik, they still own the rights to all photos. What we do intend to do is out a little blurb about how we know that while many people will be happy, it wasn't an easy 'win' and took us a log time to conceive. Just because we know the hardship of FB announcements when TTC for a long time. There's one friend I will tell before we announce it publicly because her baby was born still born in July and I feel it's only fair to give her warning and time to hide me on Facebook if she wants to.

kellestar · 18/09/2012 19:32

Scan went well, HB found and baby is showing at 9 weeks rather than 11+5, so have to go back for another scan in 3 weeks. Got a really blurry picture that looks like a baked bean covered in fluff. Was exciting and DH is chuffed as it looks like it'll be due on his birthday, but won't have an actual date until next scan. Just means the Nausea isn't going away anytime soon.

LoobyLou33 · 18/09/2012 19:41

Great news about all the recent scans. It is amazing seeing those wiggly limbs! mama it must be tough being in hospital on a drip, I admire your positive outlook.

I'm 9+5 but don't even have a date for booking appt yet, I called today and they said the midwife will ring me after 10 weeks (I did have a register appt with practice nurse so am in the system). Also no scan date, but hopefully it will be on time and not say 14 weeks!

Had a terrible night's sleep, maybe got only 3 hours, and so MS has been worse today, was actually sick this morning and then struggled to know when to start eating again, since I usuallly graze all day long. Hopefully an early night will sort me out! I did have sickness bands but have misplaced them...not sure they made a big difference to me but I think it's worth everyone trying as they're so cheap and seem to work for some ppl.

Flosshilde · 18/09/2012 19:52

I didn't put the scan pic up mainly because DH preferred me not to and as I wasn't unduly bothered about it, I didn't. I actually went on to post the news to see a scan pic and announcement from one of my friends, who I didn't know was pregnant.
