Mama glad to hear you are doing well. & sorry to those having bad days today.

Am not feeling too bad today, not sleeping great & quite uncomfortable with the heat since our heating is back on auto & killing me! but otherwise a decent day! Have scan on Oct 3rd, will be 12+1 then, feels so far away, I am sure I am the only one not to have had early scan by now.

EssexWelsh · 17/09/2012 20:08

Just caught up from over the weekend.

bunnygirl glad not just me having the week off ms then it kicking back in this weekend Angry

In good news, found hospital to see if they could move scan as couldn't attend Oct 1st-lie!! They moved me to 27th Oct-woo hoo! Just those few days earlier is a lifetime as you all know!

Can't wait for everyone to start posting their scan experiences!

Mama1980 · 17/09/2012 20:17

Thanks again everyone
Kellestar : yes I had my ds at 26 weeks following a car crash, he weighed less than a pound but now is 4 and you would never believe he was so tiny. There's a pic of him lying on me both hooked up to about 30 machines and monitors and he doesn't believe that that's us, he thinks i was playing doctors Grin thanks for telling about your mil I've just got all fingers crossed. The aim is to make it to 30 weeks if we can but the anomaly scan at 20 ish will be huge in determining that. I mostly just have the iPad, laptop is needed at home by dd. love George clooney Wink

Jo1984uk · 17/09/2012 20:25

Evening all,

Been a long time since I have managed to post, have had lots going on.. Moved back with my parents for a bit so am commuting from Southampton to London everyday...

Toobreathless, I was bridesmaid for my friend on Saturday.. The dress was so tight I couldn't believe it!

Can't believe I am 12 weeks tomorrow. Good luck to everyone having their scan this week and hang in there mama, it will all be more than worth it.

Glad to hear i'm not the only one struggling with food, I seem to be eating so many crisps lately and anything with cheese.. Cheesestrings, dairylea dippers, cheese on toast and the list goes on. Do not want to weigh myself for a while lol.

Will not be having my scan until next monday, can't wait. I then go away to Mexico Tuesday for a couple of weeks so will be 15 weeks when I come back. Dread to think how much I will weigh after all those all inclusive buffets. Ah well, I have a good excuse to indulge, especially as I won't be drinking!

CamelKnees · 17/09/2012 20:52

Evening all!

mama will be keeping everything crossed for another good couple of weeks. It sounds like they're doing a lovely job of looking after you. Can also recommend Grey's Anatomy if you're after a box set binge while you're stuck in there. I think they're all on iTunes if you've only got the iPad.

kellestar oh I so feel for you. It's grim enough having to clean a car seat of sick when you're feeling well but to have to do it when suffering with MS definitely deserves a medal. Feet up kiddo.

JH well done on losing such an amazing amount of weight. That really is incredible.

somewhere jo and bona good luck for the scans!

username I've not had an early scan either.

Not much going on here. MS continues with a vengeance. Have been holed up with DD today as she's not been well. Poor lamb is totally full of a stinking cold. Have been snuggling with her all day whilst also thinking "please don't let me catch this". Bad mummy.

Have also made what feels like a monumental decision today.......I am getting my bloody awful hair dyed this week...dum dum dummmmmmmm. It is beyond a mess and as if it's not bad enough to feel fat, tired and sick all the time it's a step too far to have shit hair everyday. Feel better having just decided. It's a wee bit pathetic what passes for excitement these days!

JaquelineHyde · 18/09/2012 00:03

username I've not had a scan either and mine is booked for the day after you - October 4th so we can count down together Smile

My best friend let me know today that she has just suffered a miscarrige and I feel bloody terrible for her Sad

Starting to pack the house tomorrow as we are moving next week so I really need to get a shuffle on as I have Uni now as well...Life is about to get very busy!

ratbagcatbag · 18/09/2012 07:22

Just checking in, still fed up of feeling icky, but scan is thurs so looking forward absurd terrified of that. Feel a bit weird to be honest, still feel quesy and nothing is tempting me, so surviving on a couple of bowls of weetabix and not much else, I've even lost a pound!!! But trousers are really tight and my zip is heading south everytime I sit down at work.

edinfirst · 18/09/2012 07:51

JH and username my first scan is 4 Oct too, can I join in on the countdown/trying not to think about it too much.

Sorry to hear about your friend JH - does she know you are pg?

Mama1980 · 18/09/2012 08:27

Morning everyone
Sorry to hear about your friend Jacqueline does she know your pregnant?
Good luck to everyone who has scans -so exciting and nerve wracking!
More rest for me today and seeing the dr later, gonna be scanned yet again as the bleeding isn't stopping.

somewherebecomingrain · 18/09/2012 08:54

jh sorry about your friend - i've had that, it's tough. Most people who miscarry go on to have a baby with no problem, so hopefully it'll have a happy ending.

kellestar i've gotta come back to it - that's the worst MS story i think i've heard - you are very courageous.

yes mama and everyone box sets are perfect for that combo of boredom and anxiety that is pregnancy.

We're currently watching The Shield. I remember last time we watched Cracker - that was a bit mad as it's a bit real, set in the UK etc - but The Shield is great cause it's in a parallel universe - LA - that is totally unreal to me.

praying for a good MS day - i think the seasickness armbands are helping - i would say try them.

xx

alwayshopeful13 · 18/09/2012 08:56

Good luck to everyone having scans this week-great to hear the group is gradually moving closer that milestone! Mama hope you're doing ok in there...sounds like you're in great hands and you and the LO are being well looked after. Know that we're all thinking about you, and sending good wishes health-wise and for passing the time without too much frustration. My best boxset recommendation is House-totally loving it atm (though realise the medical theme might not entirely float your boat given your location) xx

Oops - 9+4

enjay0811 · 18/09/2012 09:09

Hey all, jst checking in. Been lurking for a while now instead of posting to try and stop the worrying, seems the more I'm reading bout problems that u lovely ladies are having, the more I think tht sumthin is goin to go wrong with me. I've been so lucky with dd's in both pregnancies, seems the odds could go against me? Prob sounds stupid I know but I've got my fx for all those who r having a tough time atm, the support on here is huge for you. Jst want to get tht 12 wk scan out the way to stop stressing!

And after tht very depressing post this early in the mornin, I'd btr get on with sum work, after sumthin else to eat to keep the MS at bay. Feel this colour Envy most of the time!

enjay0811 · 18/09/2012 09:10

Damn, 9+2!

MumofWombat · 18/09/2012 09:29

Hey everyone, we've had my parents visiting us so I haven't been on in a while. I'm not feeling so sick now but tired, headachy, grumpy yes!
Like lots on here I'm only wanting to eat carbs, the the ideal being a chip butty! The thought of cooked vegetables (unless covered in cheese sauce!) just turns my stomach but I can eat fruit and I'm looking forward to it warming up so I can start fancying salads again.
On the 2nd Oct we've got a cardiology appt for DS, so we can talk to them about getting this bub tested once it's born. And then it's our scan in the afternoon.... I'm looking forward to it and nervous all at the same time. I had someone (who knows I'm expecting) tell me about a horrid/scary tale about a relative of theirs (you know one of those stories most people avoid telling pregnant people as they don't want to worry them....) and let's just say it certainly hasn't reduced my anxiety. And my first antenatal apt is on the 11th Oct.
Is anyone else sleeping badly? I seem to already be struggling to find a comfortable position. Goodness knows what it will be like at 30 weeks...

usernamegoeshere · 18/09/2012 10:49

aw yey JH & Edin I really thought I was far behind everyone with scans, will be nice to have some company that week!

CamelKnees · 18/09/2012 11:15

Morning all

JH - that's really sad about your friend.

I had my booking in appointment this morning. MW was lovely but am annoyed about my 12 week scan.

Apparently the hospital had booked me in for tomorrow - unbeknownst to me, no letter or anything (when I'll only be 9+2, go figure) so we had to rearrange it today. She wanted me to be booked in for 11 Oct (when I'll be 12+3) but the scan unit is closed that day for training (!) so the next available date is 18th Oct.

I am categorically not waiting until I'm 13+3 for my scan and then another week for the results. Feels like my friends scary story all over again. I'm going to phone the private hospital now and see if I can get an appointment for that week before. At least then I can get the results that day. Hmph

Flosshilde · 18/09/2012 11:47

Hello ladies. I have been lurking mostly but thought I'd pop on to say that I had my 12 week scan today. They saw one baby (thankfully - I was terrified it might be twins!) with heartbeat, 4 limbs - all looks fine for this stage as far as they can see. I didn't have the nuchal fold test as we would continue with a Downs pregnancy so not waiting for any results. They redated me at 12+1 so my due date is now 1 April, much to the amusement of my family.

They sorted out 16 week consultant apptand 20 week scan whilst I was there, which is reassuring.

Just need to start telling people now...

CamelKnees · 18/09/2012 11:55

Congrats floss how exciting to be past that first big milestone!

I have just phoned the private hospital here and have in the space of 2 minutes booked 12 week screening for when I'll be 11+4. Results available within the hour. Feel much better now.

Cadmum · 18/09/2012 12:07

Great news floss!

Well done for taking the initiative, camel! Way back in 2003, my paperwork went missing and my scan date finally came through at 16 1/2 weeks. Sometimes the system does not work well.

BonaDea · 18/09/2012 12:48

Morning all! Just back from my 12 week scan. Slightly revised due date of 3 April.

Baby was all present and correct and apparently really jiggly this morning. We had legs kicking (sometimes both at once like s/he was doing swimming kicks), arms waving all over the shop and generally bobbling around. Was really amazing to see. There was a trainee doctor in with the sonographer, so I think we got longer than usual as the sonographer showed the doctor everyhting she was doing, pointing out how to do the measurements etc. Amazing!

The NT came back well within normal range at 1.5mm. Blood tests due back this week, but so far, everything looks tickety boo.

It is a lovely feeling to be 'out' now! Have spent the morning texting! Only remaining hurdle is telling my boss - I've only been with the company a year and only got married in early July, so think it will be a bit earlier than they were expecting. She'll be lovely about it, but I still feel a bit sheepish!

Looking forward to reading about everyone else's scans...

BonaDea · 18/09/2012 13:11

username nom nom nom that sounds delicious

floss - yay! contgrats to you too - was so busy writing about my own scan that I didn't see the stuff about yours.

CamelKnees · 18/09/2012 13:16

Congrats bona ! How exciting to be 'out' !

ratbagcatbag · 18/09/2012 13:22

yey, congrats on the positive scans, can't believe mine is 2 days away, eek.

I'm now at home after horredous sickness this morning, I spent all morning running to the loo and feeling ill, my lovely managers have told me to come home, so I'm now MNetting on the sofa snuggled in PJ's!!
