Thanks everybody. I am so happy! Welcome Pink! I know how you feel about the early stage. I swear, they say pregnancy is only 9 months but those first twelve weeks feel like a decade!

photochick · 28/08/2012 12:55

Hi everyone. Been away for a week so just popping in to catch up. Very sorry to hear about blondecat and Mrs Twinks.

Pontouf so glad its all ok for you.

Finding these early weeks quite stressful. OH is very excited but I am more cautious. Still can't quite believe it!! Doctors appointment on Friday though so hoping to feel a bit more informed and happier after that, otherwise its going to be a long 9 months 12 weeks of worry!! Will just have to try hard not to cry through the whole appointment like I did with the nurse!

What's everyone eating to try and eat the nausea into submission? I've had some success with vege pizza and coke today. I shudder to think how much weight I'm going to put on but sugar and carbs are the only things that work for me at the mo!

BonaDea · 28/08/2012 14:04

pontouf that is fantastic news, so pleased for you.

I had my booking appointment this weekend which was pretty uneventful. Also have my date for my 12 weeks scan on 18th September. Very exciting!

pink, today I've been eating ritz crackers and rich tea biscuits (alongside a normal daily diet!) I find that avoiding an empty stomach really helps, so just keep topping myself up as the day goes on. Unbelievably I've only put on about 2 pounds since bfp, but I think my weight will rocket soon...

angeltattoo · 28/08/2012 14:43

Pontouf, that is wonderful news, so happy for you - enjoy the wedding!

I am eating nuts today, just had a white bread cheese sandwich.

At the weekend it was mini cheddars and lucozade for the nausea.

I find if i leave it too long, I then feel too sick to eat Envy yogurt has also helped, it slips down easily when I don't feel like eating.

Hate the nausea, and I have a UTI too so off to the drs this afternoon Sad

timetomoveon · 28/08/2012 15:14

pontouf - great news about your scan :)

I had a scan today - saw heartbeat and everything looks good according to the obgyn. My edd has changed to April 8, so I'm updating the list.

Congratulations Pontouf on your good news, it must be such a relief.

Really fed up with feeling rotten..I thought I was getting off lightly with the symptoms but for over a week now have been chronically tired and so nauseous all through the day most days...kind of wish I could just be sick! Food is also very difficult, the thought of most things makes my stomach turn and I seem only to be able to eat bananas, grapes and very plain sandwiches if I'm feeling brave. Feeling like this at work sucks!

Bring on 12 weeks for everyone..can't come soon enough!

JaquelineHyde · 28/08/2012 16:04

Afternoon ladies, fantastic news Pontouf!

I feel really crap, exhausted and slightly sick but less sick than I did last week which is a good sign.

I am still getting fairly painful cramping, so much so that it kept me up most of the night on Sunday night and every now and then I get a sharp pain down my left hand side but because it's not continuous pain and there is no blood I'm not rushing off to the Dr. Do you think I am doing the right thing?

I cannot believe that I start my Masters in a few weeks, I'm bloody terrified and hoping that this tiredness will wear off just in time for me to start. My brain has gone to mush as it is so exhaustion isn't going to help matters Grin

Oh and my hair is as greasy as anything, by dinner time it looks like I have smoothered it in chip fat and my skin has exploded in spots.....I am so attractive right now!

Fantastic news pontouf Smile I've been thinking about you all day. I bled almost everyday when I was pregnant with my ds so I totally get how relieved you must be. Drs for me went as well as to be expected. I have another scan next week.

FactOfTheMatter · 28/08/2012 17:32

lovely news, pontouf

magictorch · 28/08/2012 18:11

Hello everyone - just thought I'd check in and let you all know I had my early scan at our fertility clinic today!

It was so amazing I burst into tears!

After 7 long years, finally seeing a heartbeat and little arms and legs was just the most, amazing, amazing feeling. I don't think I've ever felt happier Grin Grin Grin

The nurse said 8 weeks was a big hurdle to get over, so am thrilled and am officially discharged into the care of my GP now...

...speaking of whom, I've been trying to call but they only accept calls between 9am and 11am. At all other times you get a message saying the surgery is closed and you can't leave a message. What use is that to man, beast or excited pregnant lady, especially when work dictates you can't always get to a phone at those specific times!!! Utter lunacy. Angry

Sorry to hear the sad news from some of us ladies and fx for those who are worried too x

enjay0811 · 28/08/2012 18:54

Fantastic news to all those who've seen healthy little heart beats on the early scans! Can't wait for Thurs for me... after feelin like I've had a 2 day hangova today now feel like I could eat a scaby horse!

JaquelineHyde · 28/08/2012 19:01

Am I the only person on here that hasn't had an early scan?

Still in pain, still not sure if I should make a fuss of not.

NotShortImFunSized · 28/08/2012 19:17

Will catch up with rest of thread late once dc's are in bed. Just wanted to say Jaqueline if you're still in pain ring gp or midwife tomorrow, tonight if its really bad, and explain how painful it is. If you're worried don't be afraid to exaggerate slightly either!! They will more than likely scan you to check what is going on. Hope you're ok x

steph2412 · 28/08/2012 19:24

Hi everyone i am 7 weeks now been getting a few cramps really want an early scan after previous mc but the doctors are having none of it!i have my booking app next week but am worried sick already and the 12week scan seems miles away x

enjay0811 · 28/08/2012 19:35

jaqueline if your having bad pains and Dr won't send u for an early scan, just go to a&e if ur really worried, tht's wot my Dr advised! Had spotting on and off since last wk but have to wait a week for scan at EPAU. I'm tryin to stay positive though, had same thing with dc1 and all was fine and I'm def suffering from early pregnancy symptoms so taking it as a good sign.

Can someone add me to the list too pls? Can't copy and paste on this fone!

6+5 dc3 edd 19th April

Thanks x

MarianneAu · 28/08/2012 19:37

Can I be included?
Edd is 13th April formy first baby, eeeek!
It's been a tough year losing my father in law on Christmas day last year and him missing our january wedding, various other traumas have been and gone and now we are expecting :)

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 28/08/2012 19:42

Wow, can't believe we're on part two already!

pontouf - so glad everything is OK, what a relief!

I have finally got my date for my early scan, next Monday!! By which point I should be about 9 & 1/2 weeks, so not really that early. I should be grateful though, it's better than nothing, and my GP has been an absolute star, even telling the EPU little white lies to ensure that they would see me.

Hello. I am totally new to this (MN and being pregnant) but have just spent ages sitting here reading through all your messages and following all the ups and downs you're having. I no longer want to lurk in the background so can I join in please!

I am 33, first pregnancy, I tend to be wavering between totally paranoid and worrying that everything I eat will kill my baby, to being totally of the 'I'm sure it's all fine' school. I'm trying to find that balance in the middle!

I am also very worried that I am putting weight on fast. Sore boobs and nausea are not conducive to going to the gym and when I don't feel sick I feel ravenously hungry. I've already eaten fish and chips twice in two weeks when I normally eat that sort of thing about once a year! Sigh.

Anyhow... EDD is 10th April. Already had a scan last week as they were worried about my spotting. 'Baby' was fine, had a heartbeat, and spotting stopped. So, sigh of relief.
