Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
miarosemum · 17/09/2012 11:29

hi aufanie, I have a new partner too and was wondering why she put this on my notes...I asked her and she said that pre-eclampsia is determined by the man, and that even if I did not have pre-eclampsia last time, this pregnancy is treated as a first time one as far as pre-eclampsia is concerned! so there you go!

bad, bad cold here and generally fee like sh**, even dd off school with hacking cough, and scan on wednesday morning, excited but so nervous about it as well. with dd who is 5, I did'nt really google a lot or go on baby website so no nerves at all expecting the worst but this time round dr goggle is a nightmare and keep imagining the worst!

aufaniae · 17/09/2012 11:37

Oh, that's interesting miarosemum thanks :)

Giddypants I'm very Envy you can have a look at your baby when you like! I expect many of us would find that an irresistible temptation, I know I would!

miarosemum · 17/09/2012 11:44

10+3 keep forgetting!

photochick · 17/09/2012 11:46

So good to read up on how everyone is doing - makes me feel a bit less alone. DH has only been home 11 days in the last month due to ill health in his family. Really selfish of me but just wish I could spend some quality time with him right now.
Have almost constant nausea and am very tired. Struggling to eat anything that isn't chips / crisps / cheese / bread. This is not like me at all! Forcing down the odd piece of fruit but most of it ending up in the bin.
Can't complain too much though beacuse as far as we know everything is healthy and going ok, so my thoughts are with those of you facing more challenging pregnancies.
8+3

aufaniae · 17/09/2012 12:05

Hope you feel better soon miarosemum

trying2bpos · 17/09/2012 13:42

Oh aufaniae that is really irritating! It did make me smile a bit though, sorry Blush. I mean of all the things to get wrong and if she didn't know where Estonia was why on earth didn't she ask you. Airhead! She wasn't pregnant as well was she? The hepatitis will get sorted when your test results come back from the hospital and you can just change the rest yourself in your handheld notes if you like, I mean my mw wanted me to fill all that stuff in before I went in to see her! Just check it's not on the computer next time you see her.

I just had a massive what I think was a palpitation it felt like my heart beating out of my chest never had that happen before not pleasant but didn't last long. Hope it's a one off, my bp was pretty low last week at the booking appt.

somewherebecomingrain · 17/09/2012 13:57

aufaniae that's rubbish. i remember my MW getting all sorts of sensitive and personal details wrong on the form first time round. it's really, really annoying.

I am not sick. right now, at 1.57pm on Monday 17 Sept, I am not sick. Happiness is the absence of morning sickness, quite frankly.
xx

Giddypants · 17/09/2012 14:19

Believe me I'm finding it hard to resist having a peek every now and then, if I get caught I could get into trouble! Depending on who catches me!

trying2bpos · 17/09/2012 14:37

mama That's great that you got to spend some time with the children and got to go outside, it must have really cheered you up. Scary thought having to think about your delivery plans now! Glad baby doing well though, must be a relief.
Any idea when you'll be going home?

Graze box just arrived and had to do my very best not to eat it ALL in one go! I did have a nibble of each thing just to try though and they're all very yummy! Hope you're right about them being healthy! Got to be better than the usual grab bag of crisps?

Weird weird dreams too! Fortunately no baby ones as yet!

kellestar · 17/09/2012 16:02

:( Envy just puked over DD just after I'd strapped her into the car seat. Filled the damn thing up, puked down the side of the car, made a dash for the front door, got the key in, puked down door, got the door open and puked over the kitchen floor. Yuk! That's the first time I've puked. Just feel really rough. And I had to clean it all up and then shower me and DD. Envy 11+5 today. Scan tomorrow.

mama glad to hear you had some time with your DC's.

aufaiae can't believe they mucked your notes up like that. It's quite a big mistake to make. You can call the GP and ask to speak to the MW manager to ask that your records are amended. As there will be a digital record that will need amending too.

very sensitive to smells and can't go near my family's dogs as the smell just makes me retch.

Mama1980 · 17/09/2012 16:09

No sign of going home I'm afraid I'm still on a drip. After my 12 week scan they want to do a cervical stitch so not until after then I guess. Another couple of weeks maybe I don't know. Neo dr was lovely and very sweet telling me lots of positive stories but j can't help feeling like I'm about to be dragged back into my worst nightmare having to watch my baby fight so hard but-and trying to stay positive here- its better than the alternative.

Mama1980 · 17/09/2012 16:09

On kellestar I hope you are feeling better?

HaveALittleFaith · 17/09/2012 16:25

Oh dear kellestar!

Sorry to hear you're still in hospital but I hope once you've had the 12 week scan you can go!

Well I've had a fun afternoon in A&E not with sudden onset back/high abdo pain. Final diagnosis is ascending uti, had antibiotics and now home. Probably explains why I've been feeling quite so crap! They scanned my kidney to check for kidney stones (I've had ongoing kidney/urinary tract problems) and looked for the baby at the same time but my bladder wasn't full enough! :( ah well, not long til my 12 week scan I hope.

BonaDea · 17/09/2012 16:51

Hugs to you Mama1980 - we're all thinking of you and your LO.

12 week scan tomorrow. Like I've said before, I'm excited and nervous in almost equal measure. Everytime I get excited a little niggling doubt creeps in that something will be wrong.

Still completely symptomless except my jeans won't button.

somewherebecomingrain · 17/09/2012 17:18

mama1980 i didnt realise you are in hosp. your story puts many things in perspective. it must be tough being in hospital with not many ways to pass the time. i pray you have a smoother time than you are anticipating, and can come out of hosp soon.

kellestar poor, poor, poor you. shouldn't you be in bed?

havealittlefaith poor you too. hope it's all cleared up really soon.

i have relatively little to complain about. I had terrible MS yesterday and then today it was great - until i napped. obviously lucky, as a freelancer, to be able to nap. but every time i nap i wake up feeling sick.

i am now trying sea sickness bands - i think they're helping a bit.

my nuchal scan is on friday - it's starting to sit in my chest iykwim

wishfulthinking1 · 17/09/2012 18:07

Hi all-
Feeling really unwell- tummy ache- wouldn't describe it as a cramp- more a constant pain, it's a bit lower than my belly button in my left side. I can push it, and that doesn't make it worse- if it was ectopic I'd be in agony wouldnt I? Do you think I should worry? To be honest, it feels like trapped wind .....

DH came home and told me to ring mw- I did- she said take some paracetamol, rub my tummy, have a bath and a rest. She said that assuming i wasn't doubled over in pain then not to worry.

So there we go!
Ive got a bit of school work to do, then I'm going to have a bath and watch last nights Downton abbey!

Check in later
X

JaquelineHyde · 17/09/2012 18:29

Afternoon ladies

Mama so glad that things are still ok with you, being in hospital for all that time must be so boring. Please try not to worry about what the future may hold, lets get you sorted out and resting at home first.

aufaniae what a bloody mess they have made of your notes! Although dh has also been classified as a new partner despite us having been together for years, so I think that's normal.

kellestar you poor thing, try and get some rest and some kind of food down you.

I went to buy a few new bits today for going to uni later this week as all my old clothes look trampy and I am bloody miserable Sad despite having lost 5lb since finding out I was pg I have gone up a whole 2 dress sizes! How is this possible!

I am large anyway normally a size 24-26 (In the last year I have dropped from a size 34+) but now I am back up to a 28-30 Shock Sad and I just look very, very fat. No cute baby bump here and people will just think I'm fat for most of the pg but ho hum at least I will know the truth.

Mama1980 · 17/09/2012 18:33

Oh heavens your lovely words have made me cry. It means a lot to have this support it helps me feel not quite so alone.

JessieEssex · 17/09/2012 19:04

wishful I had that the other day - 'twas trapped wind. But at the time it was really worrying and I was nearly in tears thinking of what it could be. Relief came after a few hours...

BonaDea good luck for your scan tomorrow - I have mine on Wednesday and I'm starting to get nervous/excited but I'm trying not to think about it as I know that if I do, I won't sleep tomorrow night!

mama you have so many people thinking of you and willing you and the little one on. Hope it can help in some small way!

JessieEssex · 17/09/2012 19:04

Whoops 11+5

Teapig · 17/09/2012 19:09

Thinking of you Mama so glad to hear the LO is doing well. Hopefully you'll be resting at home before long.

Aufaniae I can't believe how much your MW got wrong. That must be very frustrating but how lucky you checked your notes and can get them changed.

kellestar that sounds awful! Hope you feel better v soon. Hoping you feel better soon too wishful. I have no experience but from what I've read you'd be in very serious pain if it was ectoptic so it's probably just growing pains.

Good luck with your scans somewhere and bona, I have everything crossed for you.

A long day at work so fish and chips for dinner. Well fish is healthy right?

toobreathless · 17/09/2012 19:14

Sorry to hear everyone else seems to be having a bad day. We had a lovely if tiring day doing a bit of shopping in Harrogate & having lunch in La Tasca. I am on leave this week in preparation for being a maid of honour at the weekend. I'm doing the wedding flowers, i did a city & guilds in floristry for my own wedding & occasionally do friends.

Bump is pretty noticeable in bridesmaid dress, i'll pop a piccie on my profile for you ladies to comment on. Bride doesn't know, but 12 week scan is tomorrow & if (fingers crossed!) all is ok I might tell her on Thursday. Ideally will tell in a few weeks, but people guessing at the wedding would be a disaster!

Mama1980 one day at a time. You are in the right place & baby seems so strong to have done so well this far.

JH I suspect you will look pregnant earlier than you think. Well done you for loosing the weight over the last year. It's not easy is it? I think the general public are so terrified of offending anyone that any slightly larger lady who might have a bump that they assume she doesn't.

Hugs to everyone not feeling well.

somewherebecomingrain · 17/09/2012 19:18

good luck toobreathless and bonadea ! xx

toobreathless · 17/09/2012 19:20

Apologies. Can't upload picture from damn iPhone!

kellestar · 17/09/2012 19:37

mama MiL had to have each of her babies stitched in [3 boys] as she also had cervical weakness and was bleeding in her pregnancies. She went on to have natural deliveries, induced early but all healthy babies. Wasn't your last DC an early delivery? It can be so hard being stuck on bed rest [spent the last 8 weeks of last pg on bed rest with SPD] and it was dull as fk, got through it with ER boxsets [the delight of George Clooney as Doug Ross still makes me happy clap] have you a laptop in with you, or is it the ipad?
