Happy Saturday Ladies!
Whoever mentioned oven chips - oh my gosh I am crazy for them at the moment, in fact I'm just going to sort out another tray full, mmm! Although Jacqueline a cheese scone would also go down a treat, that might be a baking job for tomorrow!

I have pretty much no symptoms, other than nausea when I'm hungry (about every 2hrs!!) no sickness, no sore boobs, and my belly is looking flatter than it has the last few weeks, occasional twinges. I'm still a polka dot face, but then that's probably a too many chips symptom!
I hope baby is ok in there - I can't help worrying as I feel so normal Confused

I hope everyOne is enjoying the lovely weather, I'm making the most of it sat on the sofa snoozing and watching tv...oops!

Hello fact my due date twin (until they scan me and change their minds!). I have a feeling I'll be late and it'll be born in May actually.

Today I went to my neephew's birthday party (he's just turned 3). Last year was so tough. Seeing all those kids running round (it was at soft play) made me so sad. This year I was excited (and shattered and nauseated!).

I will love DH forever - yesterday I realised after defrosting the freezer on Thursday I forgot to turn it back on. The smell of rotten meat was making me retch so he cleaned it out instead :) phew!

MrsSimkins · 15/09/2012 19:02

Hi ladies,

likecandy i'm feeling exactly the same! I seem to have hardly any symptoms at all and am terrified that there'll be nothing there at the scan! Only a week and a half to wait tho (think i'l be 13 weeks by then!)

Whoever said there cat seems to know, DH thought I was mad when i said that but our cat who normally stays nearby but not cuddled up with us has been following me everywhere and snuggling up to my belly at every opportunity.

With the appraisal thing if it was me I would definitely mention it as i'd feel dishonest talking about my future without mentioning something so huge.

I saw a medium last night (not on pupose it was at girls night and she was there so thought i'd have quick reading) she was lovely and told me my energy seemed low but that was probably because i have a little one to which i said no, she gave me a knowing smile and yes you do! She talked about my wedding describing my dress perfectly and even described my grandma ('in spirit')'s favourite photo! At the end she asked if i wondered why she hadn't told me what i was having. I said i assumed she didnt know, she said 'No, i just knew you don't want to know' which is true. It was pretty amazing.

Anyway i'm off to eat (again!)

Have a good weekend ladies xxx

alwayshopeful13 · 15/09/2012 19:05

Evening ladies, my usual Saturday apologies for my radio silence over the past few days - I seem to spend Mon-Fri aching for the hecticness of work combined with relentless nausea/tiredness to deliver me mercifully to the weekend so I can recover.

The past week has been pretty hard tbh - just exhausted and nausea still causing dietary havoc (living on innocent smoothies and toast with butter and honey.....not exactly a balanced diet). Big day at work on Thursday left me utterly shattered - made it in yesterday for 09.45 (v late start for me) and was being practically escorted out of the building at 15.30 by my v lovely boss, when it was clear I was not really "of the world" and was almost falling asleep on my keyboard. Tucked up in bed yesterday at 17.00, and only woke long enough to have another slice of toast, wash my face, brush my teeth, and then back to bed for the night. Similar story today - managed to get out to potter a bit this morning, but back home asleep on couch at 15.30 and only just woke up. 9 weeks yesterday so really hoping it starts to ease soon, fx.

My most massive hats off to anyone who does early pg/morning sickness with other children in tow.....I am seriously in awe :-)

Sorry for long moan-y post. Glad to hear everyone's booking appts and scans are going well. Hope all you ladies with uni/studying manoeuvering to sort aren't worrying about it too much and being met with support and flexibility from the powers that be....it's what you deserve!

Wow mresimkins I would love a reading, but then I wouldn't if you know what I mean, she sounded really good, I've had a few friends say they have had readings from complete charlatans!

I was really bad and had a KFC boneless bucket! I haven't had KFC for about 10 years but was passing and just really fancied it, regret it a bit now though lol oh well back to the healthyish eating tomorrow.

MrsSimkins · 15/09/2012 20:15

Quick question ladies, whos had a drink so far??? I'm really fancying a crabbies thats sitting in my fridge. But not sure whether to risk it or not? Has anyone else been having the occasional drink?
x

HaveALittleFaith · 15/09/2012 20:27

I can't drink regardless! I was waiting for an op to relieve a blockage in my urinary tract and it hurts like buggary when I drink (stressing my kidney!) so there's no temptation for me. If I could, I'd probably have the occasional one. Just check how many units are in the Crabbies, you might have to share it with your OH!

I'm still eating crap, I'm just eating what my body wants and trying to get a bit of fruit and veg in me!

LoobyLou33 · 15/09/2012 20:29

I had a drink or two early on, before I'd got a definite positive, but not since as I haven't felt like it. Last pregnancy I had the odd drink, perhaps about one small glass of wine a fortnight.

Sooo bizarre about the cats + dogs! That's really cool!

fact snd faith DS1's due date was April 26th! In fact he was born on May 5th (and even then, recluctanctly!) Prob a good job he was a bit late, otherwise he may end up sharing a birthday with this little bean!

HaveALittleFaith · 15/09/2012 20:32

It'll be really interesting to see when our babies are actually born!

Actually the thought of trying to drink makes me feel very Envy bleurgh so I'll stick to juice!

wishfulthinking1 · 15/09/2012 20:39

mrssimpkins- I was out for dinner with dh last night and had a small glass of white wine. Mw did home visit and she said 1-2 units a week was fine, and it was actually dh's suggestion for me to have a drink last night. It lasted me 3 hours and was had with a amazing 3 course meal. Bloody delicious it was! We dont go out for dinner all that often- it was a very special evening. Can't imagine I'll have another drink for a few weeks, but I don't feel bad about my small Chardonnay!

For what it's worth, I know my sil's husband was really against her drinking at all during her pregnancy, so she didn't when he was around. If my dh was dead against it then I wouldn't- i don't want a drink so badly to do something that might upset him or cause him to worry. I was a bit concerned that I'd 'get a taste' for it, but I didn't at all- my one small glass was just perfect x

Ive got a cold today though, generally feeling a bit rotten, nervous about the scan etc and I have a stack of work to do tomorrow. Arse cakes.

toobreathless · 15/09/2012 20:40

My lovely Antenatal group from 2011:

Due 12th April, born 23rd April (induced) - my DD
Due 16th April, born 3rd May (induced)
Due 22nd April, born 17th April.
Due 5th May, born 21st May (induced)
Due 26th May, born 5th May (induced 37 weeks for various problems)

All first babies.

alwayshopeful13 · 15/09/2012 20:52

Goodness toobreathless looking at those stats from your 2011 antenatal group it's amazing how many were induced. I didn't realise that going past due date meant strong likelihood of needing to be induced. From friends' stories about being induced (generally pretty traumatic), I'm really hoping to avoid that. But I guess we're at the mercy of how long the little one wants to stay inside :-)

On the drinking thing, I've not had a drink since getting bfp. Thought I'd really miss it but actually with how I'm feeling the idea of alcohol is just...eeeew feeling sick! But I reckon if when (PUPO!) I get past 12 weeks and hopefully feel better I'll have the occasional glass of my favourite tipple, unless mw says it's not a good idea for any reason obv. DH is v chilled about it-reckons it's best to try and maintain a relaxed attitude to the whole pg thing (even if that's pretty hard at the moment!).

HaveALittleFaith · 15/09/2012 20:55

My sister was induced with our nephew too, he was so late he missed out on the expected school year! She didn't have an easy time, I agree always I'd rather avoid it if possible!

alwayshopeful13 · 15/09/2012 21:08

Agree havealittlefaith. I know I might be a bit naïve, rose-tinted glasses etc, but I like to think I could let mother nature rule the day and have dc show up when he/she is good and ready! But realise the medical profession might not always see it that way, for understandable reasons

HaveALittleFaith · 15/09/2012 21:12

My sister wanted to have the baby already but he was quite happy where he was (can't get him to stand still now!) b she didn't have an easy time if it and ended up having an emergency c-section. Not what you dream of really!

ratbagcatbag · 15/09/2012 22:44

I'm sorry for a bit of a me post. But, I'm fed up, I'm hoping after scan it will feel more real, but at the moment I'm fed up of just feeling I'll, tired, sick and grumpy. :( grrrrrrr

toobreathless · 15/09/2012 22:51

Stats for our small group of five don't look great but despite four inductions only one went on to C Section so that's not too bad.

ratcatbag think I'm feeling exactly the same as you! Scan Tuesday & THE FEAR is really kicking in I'm over thinking everything, feeling sick, not feeling sick, tired or not. Just aaarrgh! Tonight I have actually been sick (first time ever in pregnancy) & have some vague tummy pains & I am terrified! I usually the most rational of people believe it or not.

Hope everyone else is having a good weekend?

bunnygirl80 · 15/09/2012 23:27

Maybe you just had a group of babies that were very cosy where they were toobreathless Grin.

In an example of the complete opposite, of the 8 of us in my mother's group, although several were overdue, nobody was induced. There was one elcs as baby was breach, and there were only two of us (thankfully one of those two was me!) who didn't end up with either an emcs or an instrumental delivery. So our babies were obviously a punctual bunch, but with a tendency to get themselves stuck!

FactOfTheMatter · 16/09/2012 07:39

DD1 was 10 days late (but she popped out fairly easily!) - so I'm half-expecting this one to be a May baby now! I'm happy to accept the earlier date now though because it'll make the time feel like it's going a bit faster! When you get to the end, everything can feel like it's grinding to a halt and you'll be pregnant and huge forever!

HaveALittleFaith · 16/09/2012 08:47

Eurgh I had horrible dreams. Dreamt I was bleeding and wasn't sure if it was middle or back (iyawim) and I also missed my next midwife appointment. Had to try to ring to rearrange it. I was very relieved when I woke up and realised it was Sunday!

I am still struggling to get past 12 weeks seeing the baby wriggling on the scan (I ruddy well hope!) so I'm not dwelling too much on the giving birth part just yet!

8+2

wishfulthinking1 · 16/09/2012 09:36

havealittlefaith - I had a dream that i was bleeding the night before last- was horrid. The night before I had my mc I had a dream about a dead baby- it was all messed up. Obviously, it's not a scary omen, it's just something that I thought might happen, as I was having spotting, and it just manifested itself into a bad dream. And I'm bound to be worried this time- its only natural.

I'm the same about the scan- just so so scared about it- dh admitted he was nervous too. Really wish I'd paid for an early scan around 8 weeks or so, at least then I'd know there was something there! As it is, I've just had a positive pregnancy test and no periods- nothing really in the way of symptoms- it could all be a figment of my imagination!!! Obviously, it won't be, I just worry. Only 11 days until the scan now- fingers crossed.
X

HaveALittleFaith · 16/09/2012 09:47

I think it's just my anxieties comfort in my dreams. I'm quite forgetful anyway and since being pregnant I'm so tired! We told the midwife we're just anxious because it took so long for me to get pregnant. We don't have much spare cash so we never really thought about an early scan....now I wish we had but hopefully not too long to go! I've got annual leave booked for week 11/12 so hopefully it'll be during that time.

itsaruddygame · 16/09/2012 09:53

I am another with weird dreams with the odd nightmare about things going wrong thrown in! Having said that I have pretty weird dreams normally so it is to be expected : )

I am 11 weeks today and have my scan on Friday so am getting excited and nervous in equal measure. I had an early scan at 6 weeks due to spotting so at least I know already I did not make this all up!

I feel a bit less nauseous this weekend but still permanently knackered ... Feel like I have been drugged! Total respect to those feeling like this and running around after little ones!

Enjoy Sunday all Smile

alwayshopeful13 · 16/09/2012 10:13

Also weird dreams here - one where the baby showed up, all fine, but we were at the hospital not having sorted buggy, baby clothes, carseat etc. So while getting stitched up I was frantically writing lists for DH and my mum to get everything sorted before I could go home. Trying not to overanalyse the "healthy baby showed up" bit, and attributing stressy dreams to the fact that I'm tired and anxious, plus vaguely mystified as to how I'm going to survive work/life etc if I don't start to feel more human soon.

Foolishly looked at another MN thread this morn about worst pregnancy symptoms.....did NOT make me feel more positive about things improving soon. Be warned ladies, don't read it when you're feeling in any way fragile :-)

Hope you all enjoy happy, restful Sundays. I'm back in my usual place on the sofa with duvet and supply of utterly ineffective anti-sickness remedies.

wishfulthinking1 · 16/09/2012 12:12

itsaruddygame - I'm exactly 11 weeks today too! Good luck for your scan on Friday- mine isnt until next thursday- the days until the scan are going to draaaaaaaaaaag!

I feel pretty rotten this morning- think I have a cold- only a mild one and I'm sure if I was at work I'd be feeling fine, but because I can sit at home and do nothing, it's not helping! Do you know what I mean? I got up at 10, watched two re-run episodes of Downton Abbey very excited about new series starting tonight and now am considering getting dressed and making a start on my bloody coursework that I have have have to do today! Argh!!! Lethargy breeds lethargy!!
