enjay0811 · 28/08/2012 20:21

Wow, tht is a lot of babies due next April!

How many are fifty shades babies I wonder?! Hmm

enjay0811 · 28/08/2012 20:26

steph I noticed this is your dc3 - mine too. Did u get bloating with your other 2? I look bout 12 wks and am only 6+5, my clothes are tight and everything! Trying to keep it quiet in these early weeks is going to be hard Confused

CamelKnees · 28/08/2012 20:44

That list is indeed crazy long - I've never been on a MN antenatal thread before, is it normal to have THIS many babies due?

I was part of a bit of a BFPathon with DD (on another site) and someone came up with the theory that there were lots more babies due as we'd had a very sunny spell in the conception month, and so we were all full of vitamin D from a lot of sun and a bit more relaxed for the same reason. Not sure there's any truth in any of that though!

aufaniae · 28/08/2012 20:59

Went to my new docs yesterday (yes, they're open on bank holiday. That's a new one on me!)

They're referring me to the midwife team, but I wanted to know if I should take low-dose aspirin. I had to last time as I had a notch on an artery in my womb, and it was effecting the blood supply to the baby. The doc asked if it was on my womb or the placenta. I think it was the womb but couldn't be sure, so he said to wait till my notes came through.

Does anyone know how long notes usually take to come through? I'm wondering if I should just call my old docs.

DS came out a bouncing ball of health, and I didn't start taking the aspirin till much later than this last time. But still if the baby needs me to take it I'd rather start sooner than later.

aufaniae · 28/08/2012 21:02

CamelKnees I was on a mumsnet antenatal thread 4 years ago and the list wasn't nearly that long. That was my introduction to mumsnet actually!

But I think mumsnet has grown loads in 4 years so I have no idea if there's anything special about April.

If you look at the lost there are many more at the beginning of the month, so I reckon we've got a few more to join who probably don't even know they're upduffed yet :)

steph2412 · 28/08/2012 21:04

Hi enjay im 7weeks so just a bit further than u im also trying to keep it quiet due to havin a mc in june.i felt like over the weekend mu tummy has just popped out and i look about 12 weeks already which never happened with my other 2!

LoobyLou33 · 28/08/2012 21:15

Hello new shiny thread! and welcome new April mums-to-be!
Lovely to hear news of some good scans..congrats magictorch. I haven't had an early one - I don't think everyone here has.

fondant, leluella, angel jessie and others, looks like we're in the all-day-nausea club. Hope you all have a better day tomorrow. I just wish it would wear off by the evening. I actually had to nibble a rich tea at about 2am last night. Biscuit

Some other tips I have read elsewhere... DRINK plenty, dehydration doesn't help but keeping fluids does help.

Anti-sea-sickness wrist bands - I've ordered some from Amazon, fx it helps!
Anyone else tried?

Sleep/rest - not easy with work of course but just get as much rest as you can, it does help and conversely lack of rest makes it worse.

Eat whatever you fancy - don't worry too much about weight - when the nausea wears off you'll feel like eating healthily again. Dried fruit is a good option too.

I ate about 3 packs of crisps a DAY with DC1 for 2-3 months and hardly put on any flab, admittedly I have a fast metabolism so perhaps I was lucky. Confused

JaquelineHyde · 28/08/2012 21:25

For DH and I it was the typical once you stop thinking about it it happens thing.

We had been trying for a few months with no success at all, doing everything we could think of to get that bfp. Then after another bfn we decided to stop trying and wait until I had completed the first year of my masters. So we stopped all the tricks of the trade and barely had sex (getting over the exhaustion of the last few months Grin ) I was just waiting for my period to arrive so I could have the implant out back in and BAM a bfp Grin Grin Grin

No 50 shades tat here just good old sods law!

aufaniae · 28/08/2012 21:34

jaqueline how are the pains? I guess it's probably nothing, but even so I'd make a fuss in your shoes, to put my mind at rest if nothing else.

EmpressMatilda · 28/08/2012 21:58

No 50 shades tat here either! Jaqueline - totally understand, similar story here. We were trying for much of last year and nothing happened. Then planned wedding for June, took precautions so I could fit into my dress, stopped precautions once wedding was done, thinking 'what will be will be' and then within 6 weeks we got pregnant! Didn't expect it yet but still very pleased though Grin

aufaniae · 28/08/2012 22:12

No 50 shades here either.

But my god it's popular! We were house hunting until very recently and it was on pretty much every bedtime table. I had no idea how popular it was!

EssexWelsh · 28/08/2012 22:14

Marking my spot. I'm a non stop eating machine at the moment, only way to feel normal!

JaquelineHyde · 28/08/2012 22:57

Pains are back to dull deep ache, which I'm perfectly happy with. No sharp stabbing pain in the left since lunch time which is great.

If the aching is really bad over night again and I get little to no sleep I will ring the Dr's tomorrow. If it just stays like this I shall hold out. No blood so I haven't gone into panic overdrive.

enjay0811 · 28/08/2012 23:02

Maybe its the not trying tht has caused this baby boom then! We were on hols in the canary's last mth and almost every woman around the pool had a fifty shades book, not exaggerating! Shock

Sending all the luck tht this bean decides to stick steph. These first few weeks are worrying enough but can only imagine how anxious you're feeling.

How come I felt like a zombie in work today but now seem to be full of energy at night?!

bunnygirl80 · 28/08/2012 23:11

Yay for good scans pont and magictorch

I'm finding white bread, ready salted crisps, and mentos are controlling my nausea. I'm worst in the morning and evening, but generally ok at lunchtime, so I'm making lunch my main meal at the moment. I've also totally gone off sweet stuff which is very unlike me. Poor DH bought me a big box of chocs to cheer me up and its still sitting there unopened a week later

Flosshilde · 28/08/2012 23:12

Marking place after loooong day at work. Will catch up tomorrow.

aufaniae · 28/08/2012 23:28

Bedtime table?!!! I mean bedroom table!

aufaniae · 28/08/2012 23:32

bunnygirl I seem to have gone off cheese tonight, which is most unlike me.

If that one lasts I'll lose stones!

Not that I'm planning on dieting during pregnancy (or ever it would seem. ) but I am a bit worried about my weight.

I had a huge belly long before my BFP. People often ask me if I'm pregnant or offer me seats on trains! I will gladly start accepting them now. (Usually I say thank you, that's really nice of you but I'm just fat!)

I was going to speak to the doc about being overweight during pregnancy but he really rushed me. I'll bring it up another time.

spidermanspiderman · 28/08/2012 23:49

Hello everyone! Tired, tired tired here and everything I eat disagrees with me. I also find I can crave something for one meal and then later the idea of ever eating that food again makes me feel sick!

Feeling awful guilt about it being school holidays and I have no energy. I am struggling to do something each day.

Missmuffet28 · 29/08/2012 10:07

Hi all, hope you don't mind me butting in but, I think just writing it down helps with the stress of it all!!
I think I'm pregnant and due on the 23rd April ( had to use a calculator from an app as mn one wasn't working from my phone)
Why is it nowadays no healthcare professional wants to see you untill you are around 10weeks?
I just want my pregnancy confirmed and told everything seems to be ok, weeing on a stick is one thing but I still would prefer someone with letters before or after their name to confirm it lol!!!
Approx 2 weeks ago before I knew I was pregnant I had sex with the dh at one point it hurt for a split second an immediately after I bled slightly a bright red mucusy kind of bleed about a wet wipes worth but then nothing, so since I found out I am expecting which was last thurs I have thought about nothing other than this bleed!!!!
I haven't slept hardly in a week :(
I am seeing someone tomorrow for an appt because I'm so stressed out about it but I have no idea what to expect at this appt
I seem to have all day sickness and my boobs are a bit sore is this still a good sign??? I'm experiencing funny pains in my lower abdomen like when Im sat on the loo and I turn to wipe or I turn in bed I think these seem to be what people describe as stretching pains so are these normal too at this stage?
I have gone from drinking a pot o coffee a day and being a smoker to none on both accounts per day for the last week because the smell of both is just repulsive :( I don't know how my dh is still alive!!!
Just hope everything is ok then I can start enjoying it and actually start discussing it with dh who seems over the moon but doesn't understand why I don't want to talk about it :(
By the way we both already have 1 each mine is ds10 and his dd5 sorry if appear like a first timer but 10 years seems like a lifetime ago and everything seems to be different this time round :(

angeltattoo · 29/08/2012 10:31

Hi everyone

I look like this today EnvyEnvyEnvy

Started vomitting last night and haven't stopped since, i can't even keep sips of fluid down Sad

I'm wondering if this is MS or a bug? Any ideas?

I have popped all the blood vessels around and in my eyes too, I have a wedding on Saturday (flying Friday) and i don't want ti feel like this EnvySad

aufaniae · 29/08/2012 10:37

angel if you're worried it might be a bug, no harm in getting it checked out.
That certainly doesn't sound like fun Sad I hope you feel better soon.

aufaniae · 29/08/2012 10:41

Missmuffet28 congratulations Grin

IIRC the tests at home are just as reliable as the doctor's tests. A BFP is a BFP, whether from a homestick or a doc.

I'm getting funny pains too when I move sometimes, I didn't have them last time.
