Visiting family in Derbyshire today. Walked all morning on the moors and then had a Sunday roast. Feel energetic, healthy and un-pregnant. It's actually starting to worry me. I feel so different. I hope it's ok in there.

EmpressMatilda · 09/09/2012 15:47

Glad I am not the only one losing symptoms. We all deserve a break!

ratbagcatbag · 09/09/2012 16:40

Agree to DH being an angel. Doing all the housework and cooking etc and now packed me off to
Bed for a couple of hours as I feel knackered whilst he does all the ironing. :) he's a star but all this not doing housework is making me frisky so he's defo getting some benefits :)

kellestar · 09/09/2012 18:11

I feel rotten today. Nausea at it's worst, still no actual puking, but feel so manky. Went for a walk in the woods this morning with DH's bro and family, I came over pasty and we came home. DH packed me off to bed with some water and dry toast, but struggled to wake me for lunch. I have felt a bit woo since, dizzy and exhausted. EnvyConfused

DH was BBQing a steak for tea and it was making me heave. Have eaten a couple of bites of steak. It seems to be staying put, so far. Booking in tomorrow, will chat with MW as I don't know how I will cope with energetic DD next week when DH is back to work.

10+4 and thought symptoms would be fading by now and not increasing.

I had an overactive thyroid last PG, managed by a lovely specialist. Levels steadied at 20 weeks and stopped medication. DD was fine. I am having bloods tomorrow to recheck levels. Have been fine since birth, DD also.

Welcome new person! I have only told DH and a close friend. Waiting for scan in 9 days before making it public.

Worried it's twins seeing as I feel twice as ill as last time.Grin also wondering if it will be a boy as feel so rough compared to DD

wishfulthinking1 · 09/09/2012 18:25

Hi all
ratbag I don't think I've ever felt less frisky! But then again, DH isn't doing much housework! He's great really though, I may whinge about him a lot from time to time, but he's wonderful- so excited to be married and starting a family together!

Has home visit with midwife today- dh agrees that it now seems more official! She thinks I'll hear about scan date sometime this week. I really just want to get it over with- I'm so nervous about it!- but mw was so lovely- very reassuring- kept going on about how low risk we were and that there's no reason for anything to go wrong this time.

I know there are a few teachers on the thread- when are you planning on telling colleagues/ children / parents? My head already knows, but I thought I'd like to keep it all on the down-low for as long as possible, ideally until after 20 weeks just in case, and just to keep private things private for a while. However mw said that as I'm so slim (I'm really not- average size 12 with a bloat!) she thinks I'll be hard pushed to hide bump until 20 weeks. I think I'd rather tell people than have them 'is she? Isn't she?' whispering behind my back- would love to know what you're all planning on doing!

Still not much in the way of nausea- but the tiredness!!!! Oh my!!!!
X

Exactly 10 weeks today!

steph2412 · 09/09/2012 19:33

Hi all i thought my symptoms were easing off but today the ms is back worse than ever hardly got off the sofa today and feel shattered.i really cant wait until my scan x

EssexWelsh · 09/09/2012 19:43

Evening all, same here, felt 'almost' normal the last 2 days, been very busy at Paralympics yesterday and cooking lunch for 9 today, but apart from being super tired now, no sickness. Snap whinging to DP that worried feeling ok now, as much as symptoms were rough they were strangely reassuring-he just said typical woman never happy-which is so very true Wink

Just sat down to watch closing ceremony, hope to see the fireworks from my bedroom later Grin

birdbrain17 · 09/09/2012 19:55

just got off the phone from my mum she was absolutely thrilled, it's the first on my side of the family, it makes me nervous though talking to her (and my in-laws) because me and dh haven't really been planning ahead, we're excited but waiting till the 12 week scan to think ahead but my mum was busy saying so when you going to stop working?good job i didn't get rid of your old baby stuff etc etc does it make anyone else nervous when people talk like that before 12 weeks?!

Very Envy of all those lovely sounding midwives you ladies have.

I am now 10+1, not yet booked with no scan date. The first available appt is at almost 14 weeks & I have been told to book a private nuchal scan if I want it as the scan will be 1-2 weeks after that. My midwife might be able to book me this Thursday after 11am but cannot be more specific, I have 15 patients booked which would need cancelling.

I have been stewing all weekend & have got the number of the head honcho midwife who I'm going to ring tomorrow. I believe she has the authority to book me a scan without being 'booked' by a midwife first. I might complain about my midwife too who was obstructive & unprofessional, will see how I'm feeling.

Oh & got shunted from behind yesterday at a roundabout.

Sorry for such a me, me, me post. Just feeling very stressed and Sad

PinkFondantFancy · 09/09/2012 20:55

toobreathless are you anywhere near London? The fetal medicine centre were fab when I had my 12 week scan there when I had my DD. they take bloods first and give you the combined results there and then. I had to go private too because they forgot to book me a 12 week scan and I only got booked at 11 weeks.... Sorry to hear about your accident, are you ok?

I have MW booking appt tomorrow. Am feeling a bit sorry for myself - headachy, nauseous, faint. 9+4

EssexWelsh · 09/09/2012 22:23

toobreathless too right you should feel sorry for yourself, sounds hideous what you have been through, stand your ground, for you and other mums to be, not fair a person in work gets away with that once but I bet you are not the only one!

Look after yourself and treat yourself tonight/tomo, something that isn't part of a balanced diet Grin

usernamegoeshere · 09/09/2012 23:04

toobreathless no wonder you feel sorry yourself! I would too, I hope you get some joy from the head midwife.

toobreathless · 10/09/2012 00:29

Thank you ladies.

pink I'm in north Yorkshire, we moved here from Hampshire 3 weeks ago.

Car bump was an accident, we were stationary at roundabout & were hit at 15 mph, other driver was very apologetic, just one of those things. Luckily I had just dropped DD off at my parents for the night (I was on a hen do) so she wasn't in the car.

Night, night all. Sleep well!

bunnygirl80 · 10/09/2012 02:37

Had a bit of time to kill today as had the morning off work, so instead of doing something useful like cleaning the house, I've created a separate stats thread for us Grin

It's here. Hopefully I've got it pretty much right, but feel free to add/change whatever I've managed to get wrong.

Giddypants · 10/09/2012 07:36

Morning ladies my has also eased to manageable nausea, I'm defiantly feeling movement, not kicks but more like LO is doing somersaults!
I'm so very tired, I got moved to help out in A&E resus yesterday, and was flying around like a mad thing. Really enjoyed it though it's been a while since I worked in A&E
Thank god I have a week off to recover!
Is anyone else getting back pains, I was pushing DS around a lake the other day, about 2 miles, when I got home I ceased up, if I stood for too long my leg went numb! I had it with DS but much much later in the pregnancy, will get it checked out when I see the mw on Friday for my booking in appt.

You poor thing toobreathless what an ordeal and one which you could do without at this time!

Teapig · 10/09/2012 07:43

Thanks for the stats thread bunny.

Glad to hear a lot of people's sickness is easing. I'm still paranoid that I haven't had any symptoms but I have a scan on Thursday so will get some news then.

Toobreathless, sorry to hear you're having such trouble with the MW. I would definitely take it further, it's not right for you and potentially other ladies to have to put up with that.

somewherebecomingrain · 10/09/2012 09:29

Hi may I join? This discussion is very relevant to me. I am 9+4 with DC2. It's all gone well so far despite the usual anxiety. I had a scan at 8+6 and there was a heartbeat and a good size, so i know i'm in with a chance.

have had horrendous nausea but now it's easing, and i'm worried. Relieved to a) be able to blurt that out here and b) see that many are going through similar.

just cannot wait for my 11+1 scan (as it is for some reason). I am worried that's a bit early and they won't be able to do the nuchal though. Have a private scan booked for the week after as belt and braces so will get my nuchal one way or another.

nibblet · 10/09/2012 09:35

Hello everyone!

I am new to mums net, but have been reading in the background for a few weeks. I got my scan last thursday, i am now 8 weeks and one day!
Its my first bubba me and DH are VERY excited

I didnt get any sickness till last week, but now its constant and the only thing that makes me feel better is drinking pints and pints of milk!

Oh and sleep, tons of sleep, in the past week ive been asleep more than awake i swear. I start work again on saturday and i am dreading it. I am sure my boss will catch me napping in the studio. ( i am a family photographer)

Anyway... a little question. I am a great sleeper, like dont wake up for anything, but last night i found my self up and HUNGRY. So hungry i had to go eat hob nobs and drink milk at 5am. Is this normal? should i start to prepare midnight snacks in advance?

aufaniae · 10/09/2012 09:39

Welcome somewhere, and congratulations Grin

Your scan at 11 weeks should be fine. The leaflet on the combined test I got from the mw says the combined test is "best performed at 11 weeks but anytime between 10 and 13 completed weeks is acceptable".

Mines at 13 + 3 and I'm about to call them to ask if I can get it changed to the 11th week.

If you do get a raised risk result (as I did last time) and choose to go for further testing, you will be able to get a CVS (usually offered earlier, I think it's 11-13 weeks) or and Amnio (usually done around 16 weeks). The CVS has a smaller chance of miscarriage so I reckon the earlier your scan, the better chance you have of having a CVS if needs be.

aufaniae · 10/09/2012 11:12

Managed to get my scan changed to October 2nd, exactly 12 weeks. (They wouldn't do earlier unless my midwife asks them to).

Took 3 attempts to get through to the switchboard at the hospital though. The first one rang so long my mobile decided to hang up for me (hate it when it does that!)

The second time someone answered and hung up on me! Angry

Not great.

aufaniae · 10/09/2012 11:14

Congratulations nibblet! Thanks and welcome :)

I've ever experienced waking up hungry with pregnancy, but I am currently waking up every night desperate for a wee in the small hours. That didn't happen till towards the end last time!

kellestar · 10/09/2012 11:53

Welcome niblett. I keep a stash ofbiscuits in my bedside drawer for early morning munchies. To DH's disgust I put them on the side so that they are soft for the munchies. For some reason it doesn't make me feel so ill.

I am still green and DD is entertaining herself so I'm curled up on the sofa. MiL is popping over later to play while I go up for my booking in appt. She thinks I'm finally seeing the doctor about why I'm not up to scratch.Wink

JaquelineHyde · 10/09/2012 11:53

aufanie my scan is on the 4th which is 1 day before my 12week deadline Grin I suspect our paths are going to be crossing at some time very soon as we are so close in dates Grin

We should be exchanging and completing in the next 10 days HURRAH!! (I say we but actually my DB and DSIL are actually buying the house and we are living there as his tenants) so fingers crossed we will be in by the end of the month. Then these bloddy children can go back to school Grin Grin Grin I can't believe they have been out of school since June 28th!!!!!!!!

Off to my booking in appointment now, exciting times!

8+3

somewherebecomingrain · 10/09/2012 11:57

aufaniae thanks for welcome and great advice. Very pleased - as long as they will do it at 11+1 i don't mind as i've got another a week later.
And yes CVS would be my preference if the results aren't great as i would want to know as soon as poss.

well done for getting yours changed and good good luck.

i am also relieved now as have managed to put to bed some work worries i have and also it looks like Sept i don't have much work on (i'm a freelancer).
That means i can devote September to worrying about my PG! and fulfilling my food cravings.

also my MS came back this am - it's just ebbing, it's not gone. so feel better without worrying.
