Mornin all, I'm feelin soo sick today and a bit sorry for myself Sad up until now I've just had mild nausea which I've managed to keep at bay by eating but got up this morning with a stinking cold (kindly shared by Dh!) And feel so very sick. Tryin not to actually throw up but if I go anywhere near the bathroom I no I will! Can anyone recommend stuff tht's safe to take besides paracetemol? Would usually b chucking sudofed down my neck by now!

Hope everyone else is feelin ok today Smile

enjay0811 · 08/09/2012 09:28

Oh and 7+6

kellestar · 08/09/2012 09:49

enjay olbas oil to help with tge congestion. A good steam over a bowl of hot water with a drop of olbas, a towel over your head will help tge congestion before bed. But that's about it. I found the snot was what was making me gag and almost puke. I had lots of colds last time.

aufaniae · 08/09/2012 09:51
Shock

I think I just felt the baby move.

That's not possible this early on is it? I didn't feel it till about 18 weeks last time.

I'm imagining it / it's wind, surely?!!

enjay0811 · 08/09/2012 10:03

Thanks Kellestar will give it a go along with the kids vaporub I think! Usually get probs with sinus' which make me sick anyway so on top of ms, praying tht I don't end up feeling like death! Suppose to b goin to a family party tonight aswell and pretend I'm enjoying it while watching everyone get drunk and single handedly running round after dd's.....oh, think I shld stop moaning and depressing u all now. Dh just called me a miserable git too Sad

JaquelineHyde · 08/09/2012 14:09

Oh enjay you poor thing. Ignore DH for now he obviously has no idea how bloody miserable you are feeling. Just make sure that you make him pay for it at a later date Grin Can you not pull out of the party?

aufaniae it was wind Grin My mum did say that she felt one of hers move at around 8-9 weeks but that was her 9th baby!

We are doing a BBQ this afternoon and the smell is making me feel sick but I don't want to tell DH as he is looking forward to it so much and is really proud of himself for organising it all and being all manly with it Grin

Hi, may I join!? I'm a bit sceptical about this whole baby growing business but its slowly starting to sink in that there might be something in there. Am currently 8+4, the worst of my symptoms seem to have passed, except my boobs hurting a lot and I developed a weird aversion to tea, Am still drinking it unfortunately since if I start turning it down that would be like putting a giant flashing pregnancy beacon on my head.

This would be my first, except that I had a miscarriage when I was 16 at 10 weeks, so I'm a bit disbelieving that this one would actually stay around & trying to not get attached to the idea.

Was unexpected for me, was on pill but took antibiotics for a chest infection. The antibiotics finished the day before I began new cycle so I thought fresh cycle wouldn't be affected by antibiotics, apparently I was wrong.

wishfulthinking1 · 08/09/2012 19:57

Hi user- welcome to the thread.

Not sure what's wrong with me today- just feeling a bit bleurgh- dh and i had words this mornings, it's all sorted now, but it's just left me feeling a bit flat. It's probably more to do with being back at work, than anything else, feel very self-pitying which is ridiculous- I'm having a baby fgs, I'm so bloody lucky!!

I have been feeling a bit sicky today- a bit nauseous- just a bit bleurgh- do
you know what I mean? I've had not sickness yet, thought I'd got away with it!

Anyway, does anyone have anything exciting to tell me to pull me out of my 'I feel a bit grim, I've got loads of work to do but no motivation, I'm home alone on a Saturday night and really want a cider' slump!?!?

Xxxx

EssexWelsh · 08/09/2012 20:11

Just sending you girls big love from the Olympic Park inbetween events PLUS haven't felt too sick all day Grin

bunnygirl80 · 08/09/2012 22:07

enjay I've got a horrible cold too. I've been using DS's vaporub on my chest and back at night and it seems to be helping. Blocked nose actually seems to be helping with the daytime nausea because I can't smell all the things that normally set me off. Every cloud has a silver lining Grin

aufaniae I think it's probably wind you felt! I did start to feel DS at 13 weeks last time, and proper full on kicks by 16weeks. Had an anterior placenta too, which is meant to block out alot of movements so he must have been having a right old wriggle around in there

aufaniae · 08/09/2012 23:22

Thanks for the reality check jaqueline and bunnygirl! Grin
It did really feel like a baby movement, I was Shock ... but no repeat performance since.
I agree it was most probably wind! Looking forward to feeling the baby for real :)

wishfulthinking are you still up? Hope your Saturday improved! Not sure if I have anything exciting to share though boring old sod that I am these days

enjay hope you're feeling better.

essexwelsh please wave to Hackney for me (my hometown) while you're up there! Hope you had a great time.

Welcome username and congratulations Grin Grin

enjay0811 · 09/09/2012 00:22

Hi all tht are still up. Jst catching up on today's threads and seems I wasn't the only one feelin bit shitty today! Hope ur all feelin a little brighter after a good nights sleep anyway. jst home from the family party and it wasn't all tht bad actually. Dd who is 3 slept thru most of it so gave me a bit of a break as I didn't have to worry bout her falling in SIL's pond and picking up alcoholic drinks sat round! Dd who is 5 was well behaved Smile Dh has stayed on and will get a taxi home later, still no sympathy from him but seemed bit of a doting/proud father to be tonight, which was nice Grin. I'll just have to remind him tht his hangova tomorrow is pretty much how I feel constantly atm!

Thanks for the cold tips/understanding bunny aufaniae and jacqueline and welcome username. Off to bed with my tissues, vapourub and olbas oil. Had a busy day and doesn't take much to wipe me out these days!

Morning all! Illnesses coming thick and fast. My boy was out last night with his friends - and staying out as cannot handle his drink! So he wouldn't wake me up. Instead, after falling asleep at 10 I woke up at 2 with terrible wind and a sore stomach. This was following by vomiting and diarrhoea for an hour or so. I managed to get back to sleep / but still have a pain on the right side of my tummy. This is my first baby - do you think just a bug? Panicking :( x

Pontouf · 09/09/2012 08:09

Morning all, not been on for ages so thought I'd come and say hi. Had my booking in appointment with the midwife on Thursday, which was great.

My midwife is completely lovely and behaved like she remembered me from last time (DS is 22 months) but it may just be from looking at my notes before I went in! She says I'll be consultant led because I had a ELCS last time (DS was breech) but said that there's no reason not to try for a VBAC which is what I really want. Got my scan date for 21st September - so excited, even though I've already had 3 scans! Feeling quietly more confident about the pregnancy since getting past the 10 weeks point for some reason. Think it's because that's when I had my first mc. Never had a pg go wrong this far along so fx we're ok.

Still having the all day nause and am being sick at least once every morning. Had it till 20 weeks with DS but it doesn't seem as bad this time round. I was signed off work for nearly a month with HG last time but have managed to drag myself in every day thus far.

Slightly worried about one thing though. I had a few blood tests at the beginning of my pg because I was feeling so exhausted. I'd been putting it down to being pg and working full time and having a toddler but I also went veggie a few months before BFP and wondered if that might have caused me to be a bit anaemic - coupled with the pregnancy. Anyway my GP sent me for tests to check for anaemia but also to check my thyroid. I haven't had the results back yet - meant to ask at MW appt but forgot. Then yesterday I got a letter saying I needed to get repeat blood tests for my thyroid - Thyroid function test plus free t3 and 4. I don't know what this means but I'm worried if my thyroid's not working will it affect the baby? Anyone got any idea?

Sorry for the epic post. Hope everyone else is having a good Sunday.

Pontouf · 09/09/2012 08:12

10+5 by the way Smile

HaveALittleFaith · 09/09/2012 09:04

Morning all.

katy keep a close eye on that. Take some paracetamol but if the pain gets bad/unmanageable with OTC painkillers get thee to an emergency unit.

pontouf it might be your bloods are slightly out of range and they want to retest to see how they are the second time. Don't google, just discuss it with your doctor when you get the results back. Thyroid can affect baby's development but it's very treatable.

I am tired but I went out last night (with my Dad and his friends! DH went away for the weekend) to a concert and then live screening of Last night of the proms. It was great fun! I collapsed into bed afterwards but I haven't enjoyed myself so much in ages so I'm glad I went!

Dandelion75 · 09/09/2012 09:43

Morning!

Katy - that sounds like a bit of a nightmare. I agree with Faith - if it stays the same I'd get some professional advice. Maybe give NHS Direct a call?

Pontouf - Your repeat blood tests is probably nothing to worry and in my experience blood tests often need to be repeated even though nothing is detected. Think the NHS just like taking blood! If there is any imbalance of your thyroid at least it's better to know now, and it's apparently easy to treat.

Anyone around the 9-10 weeks mark losing their symptoms? I lost the boob soreness about 3 or 4 days ago, no queasiness this weekend and stayed awake until 11pm the last 2 nights. Still starving though and only want carbs and cheese. Extensive consultation with Dr Google Grin this morning seems to suggest lots of people lose symptoms around 9 to 10 as hormones level out and the placenta gets established but hasn't stopped me worrying it could be a sign of mc. Think I'm probably just still suffering from the post-IVF ultra anxiety....!

Does anyone know if the MW will listen for a heartbeat at the booking in appointment? I've got my appointment finally this week and will be 10+3 - can I ask them to listen? Just think it would make me feel better.

Enjoy your Sunday in the sun - might be the last we see of it for a while Wink

angeltattoo · 09/09/2012 09:57

Hi everyone,

Sickness may be easing off here too; on one hand I thin great, on the other I worry about loss of symptoms!

Anyone else?

ratbagcatbag · 09/09/2012 10:04

Morning all, lots of symptoms easing off for me too, boobs stopped aching a couple of weeks ago, I don't feel as sick but my appetite is still very much little ad often and sweet stuff alllllllll the way.
Exhaustion still here though, I'm doing tons of sleeping :)
Figuring I'm fine and PUPO in full force here, all my family and the dogs neighbours best friends cousin now know I'm pregnant. A few people have even posted on fb.

10+6. Scan date should be here soon.

bunnygirl80 · 09/09/2012 10:21

dandelion I don't think they will listen for a heartbeat this early tbh. It could be difficult/impossible to find so there's a high chance you'd just end up going out of your mind with worry. No harm in asking them though Smile. I'm 10+1 now and my symptoms have eased off over the last week or so. I remember the same happening with DS so I think it's pretty normal.

I'm still full of cold and miserable. Woke up feeling a bit better this morning, so spent the first half of the day running around with DS. It caught up with me this afternoon though, and I'm pretty much ready for my bed and it's not even 7:30pm!

birdbrain17 · 09/09/2012 12:01

Morning all, so happy to here that a lot of you are feeling better but I'm sending sympathy to all who aren't. I also started to feel a little better about 8/9 weeks (apart from absolute exhaustion) but I do still keep on getting off days, like today every time I stand up it makes me feel sick and dizzy and I had so much I wanted to do today Sad hopefully when dh gets back from work (he's a shop assistant so works sunday mornings) I'll get him to make me some toast and then I'll feel better.
Does anyone else agree with me that dh is being an angel at putting up with all random moods and requests and not complaining when I don't cook proper supper because I feel sick!I feel so lucky that he's being so supportive he didn't even want us to try for a baby yet...we only got married 7 months ago
10+4
p.s I saw there was someone new on here, sorry don't remember your name but welcome Smile
happy sunday everyone!

imakestuff · 09/09/2012 12:03

Just heading home after hen night for SiL. Hiding the fact I'm not drinking proved impossible as I was with a bunch of 25 year olds doing shots! SiL asked if I had news and I just said no. I'm not ready to tell yet. Is anyone else telling this early? I'm 9 weeks today.

usernamegoeshere · 09/09/2012 12:18

Thank you for the welcomes! I have only told my OH & a friend. Don't know when I will tell others, am quite scared of doing it, probably will wait as long as possible.

enjay0811 · 09/09/2012 15:01

Omg, I feel exhausted today! Started off so well too, took the dd's out on their bikes to the shop (only 5mins walk but took an hour with girls in tow Smile) and made the mistake of dozing after lunch. Ready to call it a day and go to bed although its only 3pm! Only felt bit sick wen I was hungry earlier this mornin so can't complain too much. Anyone else really thirty or is it jst me?!

Got booking in appt Thurs so looking forward to tht.

I feel so different from other 2 pregnancies. Do u reckon there's any truth in it being opposite sex cos of different feel/cravings?
