So sorry catch and lola, know your pain, you are right, these threads are amazing, feel very sad for you, like friends, I used other dealing with mc threads on here, which are also really helpful and 3 months later I'm back here with a fx sticker bean, so best of luck!

Missmuffet28 · 05/09/2012 18:12

Sorry for those who have had bad news xxx

This may seem like a silly question but...Can anyone clarify if you feel better after actually being sick?
I have been feeling sick pretty much 24/7 for the last 3 or so weeks and it's making me feel so very low miserable and fed up I feel like I'm constantly trying really hard to not empty my stomach everywhere everytime I move!!
I am trying every remedy that has ever been suggested and nothing is working :(
I just look forward to being able to eat a meal and enjoy it instead of forcing it in, so if it means I have to lose a bit of dignity and all the neighbours know I'm chucking my guts in toilet so I can feel better for just a measly few hours then so be it!!!

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 05/09/2012 18:32

Missmuffet28 - I have been feeling sick sine about 5 weekS but without the actual vomiting too, it's so draining isn't it. Actually threw up for the first time last Thursday morning, but put that down to not eating my tea the previous night.
I woke up this morning feeling awful, needing to be sick but knowing that it wouldn't happen. I have a 45 min drive to work in the mornings so I sat myself on the edge if the bath this morning willing it to happen, just to have some relief. After a while, I did actually throw up, and you know what, it did make me feel a whole lot better, I was able to get to work and enjoy a cup of tea once I got there. Once I began eating for the day, that kept the sickness at bay!

So sorry to hear your sad news Lola, my thoughts are with you. Take care and I'm sure you will be back on the antinatal boards soon but having been there I know that's little comfort now. Sending you big hugs xx

Missmuffet28 · 05/09/2012 19:03

Yeh it really is draining especially as you still gotta find the energy to do your 'normal' stuff too well next time I feel my mouth watering like mad I'm just gonna go up to bathroom and give it a go I know that as soon as I put my head near that toilet bowl it's not gonna take much for it to happen!!! I'm only about 7 weeks I'm trying not to count to be honest I'm just holding out for my dating scan incase I have it really wrong lol silly I know but just my way I guess :)

I do already have a ds 10 but being 10 it was so long ago and I just don't really remember being pregnant let alone the gory details but I definately don't remember feeling this bad so much of the time!!

timetomoveon · 05/09/2012 19:09

missmuffet I've found that being sick makes me feel better for about 2 minutes and then I start feeling sick again :(

Lola & CatchAs so sorry to hear your sad news. Wishing you both a gentle & peaceful recovery.

Rather superficial rant alert:

I made my booking in appt with the midwife yesterday (just moved 200 miles or would have done so earlier) the next available appt makes me almost 13 weeks.
So I rang antenatal appts who sort out the scans to try & book one directly which I was told I couldn't do & to ring midwife to see if they have an earlier appt. They also weren't able to reserve me a scan slot as it's against policy. The midwife says me might be able to fit me Thurs afternoon but can't give a time & won't know until the day. I'm a doctor & have a full clinic booked that afternoon & really don't want to cancel all of them! If she could give me a slot I could rearrange a few. Her response was oh well, if I want the triple test & no scans available then I will have to pay privately. It has to be done by 14 weeks 1 day.

I'm pretty annoyed to be honest. Going to see if the midwifes at work can book me in with them. If not I'll be complaining to the Superintendent of midwives & taking things from there.

I know in the scheme of things it's not the end of the world but aaarrrrgggh!

Sorry to hear so many people are struggling with sickness, I find eating something before getting up - just a cereal bar or something helps. But, I have a fairly mild case.

alwayshopeful13 · 05/09/2012 19:41

Lola and Catch - sending you both all possible hugs. Trust that all will be well in time xxxx

HaveALittleFaith · 05/09/2012 19:43

missmuffet I find sometimes being sick means it pass, sometimes eating something helps it settle, especially sucking on sweets.

enjay0811 · 05/09/2012 19:43

Oh catch and lola I'm so sorry to hear your sad news. If its any consolation catch 2 close friends have had ectopics, 1 has gone on to have 3 children in 6 yrs (2 completely unplanned with just 1 tube) and the other had a little girl 3 wks ago less than a yr afta.

Good luck for the future both, sending you big hugs x

Dandelion75 · 05/09/2012 19:50

So sorry to hear your news catch and lola. Take care of yourselves, and hope to see you around here again some time soon xx

EmpressMatilda · 05/09/2012 19:51

What a day of sad news Sad. This pregnancy thing can be so upsetting and beset with disappointments. Hope all works out for you both in future. I'm sure it will.

I have nothing new to report. Same old, same old. But maybe no news is good news. Seems like ages until my scan.

9+0 (I think, that's the first time I've tried to work it out).

CamelKnees · 05/09/2012 19:52

Gutted to hear your news catch and lola Sad

highlandbird · 05/09/2012 20:11

catch and lola so sad to hear your news :(

not much to report here, trying to deal with tantrumming toddler and severe lethargy, but not too sick so can't complain. First scan next tuesday (they do them early here for some reason, will be 9 weeks then).

EssexWelsh · 05/09/2012 20:18

ifatfirst and missmuffet I'm have 24/7 nausea mixed with almost daily spectacular throwing up! Throwing up makes me feel better for oh about 30 seconds, eating the same. It's exhausting, I'm soooo hopeful it stops at 12 weeks, well I'm hoping it ends at 10 if I'm being honest Grin

Is anyone else on this thread from north west london and going to the royal free? I found I got a booking in appointment almost straight away at 6+5 and were very easy about changing appointment dates when I needed just wondering if I was lucky as it sounds like a few of you have had difficulty getting appointments...

sorry forgot to say at the beginning of the post lola saw your post really upset for you, hope you recover quickly, keep well and we can't wait to hear good news from you and catch keep us updated!

wishfulthinking1 · 05/09/2012 20:51

Hi all,
Didn't feel right clumping this with my sympathies post earlier on so decided to leave it for a couple of hours.

I got 'booked in' earlier today- only a short appointment and midwife is going to do a home visit on Sunday- no idea they were going to do that! She seemed really friendly- took my bloods and gave me something to wee in, to return to drs over next couple of days. She also filled in my scan request form, so should hear about that next week I guess.

I've been worrying that I've not had any sickness to speak of, wishing and wishing that it would come, just for reassurance! But reading of your tales of woe I think I'll happily stick to my vom-free ways!!

I am, however, getting more and more tired- perhaps it's being back at work after 6 weeks holiday! Anyway, it's ten to nine so im off to bed- hardcore!!! Night all x

Giddypants · 05/09/2012 21:02

lola and catch so so sorry to hear your sad news take care of yourselves xxx

enjay0811 · 05/09/2012 21:49

Hi all, just wanted to say hi after catching up on recent posts.

I've been okish, gone from forcing myself to eat, to eating like a bloody pig today! If I constantly eat, stops the nausea Grin

Boobs have become a bit tender but oh my god, the bloating! Sat at the dining table earlier, Dh said earlier, 'is that your belly? You're gonna be huge!' Hmmm, thanks for that Hmm def showing earlier with dc3, I look bout 16 wks Shock

7+2 I think (7+6 by LMP but 32 day cycle)

PinkFondantFancy · 05/09/2012 21:54

Lola and catch I'm so sorry to hear your sad news :( when you're ready to talk, the MC boards are so supportive and friendly. X

imakestuff · 05/09/2012 22:09

Hi there - I'm new to the group. I'm due on 15th April. Doesn't feel real yet!

enjay0811 · 05/09/2012 22:37

Hi imakestuff welcome and congrats! Is this dc1? Make yourself at home and join in the gossip Smile

bunnygirl80 · 06/09/2012 02:20

Sorry to hear your news catch and lola

toobreathless that's a pretty poor attitude from your midwives, they can't just tell you to pay for a test that's available on the nhs just because they can't fit you in. I'd definitely be taking it further. Im also having problems fitting in my obstetrician appointments around my own patients, had my booking in on Monday and she likes to book all appointments up till 36wks then. We managed to get a grand total of one of those appointments on the week it's meant to be!

I seem to be over the worst of my sickness. I spent the end of last week throwing up every day and hardly able to function. This week I just having very occasional episodes of mild nausea. I was told sickness peaks at 9 weeks, so I'm hoping that's me done with this particular symptom. Caught sight if myself side on in a full length mirror yesterday and I think I'm showing already. Didn't have even a hint of a bump till 20wks with DS
