Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Hi all, just a quick note to say that I had the private scan and all was well. Saw a very strong heartbeat and wiggly arms and legs!! Can't describe the relief I feel - it's like I've been holding my breath for two months and I can finally relax (a bit!) The sonographer did see a big cyst on one of my ovaries that he said will need to be monitored but that in the vast majority of cases they disappear on their own accord.

Dates were spot on so still 9+6

alwayshopeful13 · 04/09/2012 22:15

Totally behind on the past couple of days' news due to feeling utterly exhausted and sick pretty much constantly (feel asleep on train home and almost missed my stop!).

But just to say catch will be thinking of you tomorrow and sending all possible good wishes for things to go well. Stay positive and hopeful! xx

edinfirst · 04/09/2012 22:56

Fantastic news Jessie and fx catch that your scan goes just as well tomorrow. We will all be thinking of you and having everything crossed.

Someone was asking about heightened sense of smell-mine comes and goes but at times it is pretty much unbearable! It seems to only be, er, bodily smells for me-I get a headache just thinking about DH's running kit, which I have banished!

I am still am still quite bloated, but on this thread's suggestion have swapped from pregnacare (to Sanatogen) and it seems a wee bit better. May just be psychological-will have to check out the side of the packets and see what I'm getting less of that's making the difference.

The latest thing making me uncomfortable (they just keep on coming)! Is my tummy muscles. They've been a bit achy for weeks, like I've done a workout (if only I had the energy!) but are now also kind of tight, so I feel like I can't take a deep breath. I'm assuming it's just my muscles getting ready for things to shift, but it seems awful early for that (I know I usually like to be organised and have thing ready in good time but this is taking it a bit far Smile.

Anyway, night night all. Fx crossed for a minimum of toilet visits and vivid dreams for us all.

JessieEssex · 05/09/2012 09:04

Ooh - 10+0 today - whooppee!

CatchAsCatchCan · 05/09/2012 09:44

Yay, Jessie, that's great news.

I told myself I wouldn't post until I'd had my scan later this morning, but things took a turn for the worse early this morning. I woke up at 2:30 with awful, awful cramps, and then passed a massive clot. DH convinced me to go back to A&E because I was in so much pain, so we got a taxi. They gave me codeine (there must be a god...I swear), and then did a horribly painful internal (even with painkiller, I was sobbing on the bed). The gyn said my cervix was closed! Shock She couldn't really say if miscarriage was over or if it was only partway done, or if it was just threatened, so she suggested I still have the scan later to confirm. I don't know what to expect. My bleeding has all but stopped now. If I'm honest, and this is painful to admit, I'm kind of hoping there's nothing at all on the scan, because I want a break from all of this. Sad Honestly don't think I could take another round of those pains anytime soon.

Will definitely update with scan news, but suspect I'll soon be saying goodbye and good luck to all you lovely ladies. Your support has been amazing - thanks so much for all your kind words.

Lola06 · 05/09/2012 10:07

catch you poor thing, that sounds horrible! Hope everything is ok with your scan later and at least you'll have some answers.

trying good luck today. I've my scan today as well so know how you're feeling. So nervous and wish it was sooner as its no until half two!! Argh.

OP posts:
BonaDea · 05/09/2012 10:58

catch thinking of you and wishing you all the best for today.

JaquelineHyde · 05/09/2012 11:28

Catch you poor thing Sad what time is your scan? You will be in my thoughts all day. This may help a small bit but I have always found that when you are in pain and worrying and not sure why you are in pain the pain is always 100% more intense than it would normally be. Your cervix is still closed and that can only be a good thing so please hang on it there until there is certainty. Rest and be kind to yourself.

Trying and Lola good luck with your scans, let us know how they go.

Shattered and bloated at this end but no sickness or hyper sense of smell any more, I get all achey in my tummy and back towards the end of the day but that's about it.

No word from the midwife about booking in appointments but I suppose that will come more around 10 weeks, just thought I would have heard by now as I saw the Dr a week and a half ago.

7+5

aufaniae · 05/09/2012 12:07

Catch I'm so sorry you've had to go through this.
Fingers crossed for a good result at the scan today xxx

Jaqueline I saw the doctor at the beginning of last week. I got a letter this Monday confirming my scan (October 12th) but nothing about when I was going to see a midwife.

So I rang the GP surgery to ask as I have lots of questions, and don't want to wait till Oct. They said they'd get a doctor to ring me today, but a midwife rang late yesterday and has arranged to see me on Friday. She gave me the choice of hospital or home visit.

I have no idea if the midwife rang me in response to me ringing the GP (possibly not) but I reckon it can't hurt to give them a ring. (I imagine you're seeing the same team of midwives as me?).

8+1

Knittingnovice · 05/09/2012 13:38

catch a thinking of you, hope you get the news you want.
I hope every one else is feeling ok.
So told my GP on Monday, he was shocked and looked at the options for where I can give birth. Because of my history I need to have this baby at a different hospital to ds (& where I was booked to have dd, although I ended up in a different hospital for her as wherei was booked was full!) as they will have all my history on file. I might also be higher risk for this pg which I am a bit annoyed about as I really wanted to try for a home birth having spent so much time in hospital over the last year.
Am doing really well with not telling anyone, although the children know and keep telling people mummy has 2 Shock babies in her tummy, one is coming in October & one in June. Most people do not believe them, so there might be some shocked people when I do tell.

CatchAsCatchCan · 05/09/2012 13:42

Hi again, ladies. Unfortunately, it turns out the pregnancy is ectopic. Obviously gutted, and worried about what the state of my nethers will be in after all this is over with, but glad it was caught now and not later. I'm going to bow out of the thread now, but I meant it when I said how much all of your messages have meant to me over the past week. Y'all are great. Wishing each of you the very best as your pregnancies move forward.

Teapig · 05/09/2012 13:44

So sorry to hear you've had such bad pain Catch. Your cervix is closed so it may not end an mc. Hope your scan goes well today, thinking of you xx

Good luck with the scans trying and lola, keep us posted.

Teapig · 05/09/2012 13:50

I'm so sorry catch. Take care of yourself and stay strong. Take the time you need to recover and I'm sure you'll be on an antinatal board again before long.

Sending you big hugs xx

aufaniae · 05/09/2012 14:04

Catch I'm really sorry to hear your news Sad
Sending you hugs xx

Mama1980 · 05/09/2012 14:05

LikeCandy · 05/09/2012 14:09

catch I don't know if you'll read this, but you're in my thoughts xx

Hi all,
I've been to the doctor today with terrible back ache / pain in my abdomen & lower rib cage. Nothing they can do about it - apparently its just my hormones letting my ligaments get more stretchy?!
Whatever it is I can hardly move! Ouchy!
Still nauseated but not been sick for two days (crazy, huh!)

Anyone else got symptoms that come and go?
