Any word on when they will be able to see you catch ?

Hope you've got some good reads on the kindle in the meantime.

Still waiting, Lola. They've taken blood and urine and said a gynaecologist will come, but it's been about an hour and a half, and my bum is going numb! Suppose you have to laugh, otherwise you'll cry... Too nervous to read, hence me baby sitting this thread like crazy. Grin

Teapig · 04/09/2012 13:06

Hope they see you soon Catch and you get reassurance.

Having a mini freakout here that I just unwittingly eat mayonnaise. Just had a sandwich which I thought was mayo-free and then right at the end I realised it had mayo in. It wasn't even a small sandwich but a big stonking baguette. Has anyone else unwittingly eaten anything that should be off the menu?

enjay0811 · 04/09/2012 13:40

Thinking of you catch hope everything goes ok with the scan and they don't keep you waiting too much longer! Xx

enjay0811 · 04/09/2012 13:46

Hi teapig I grabbed a hand full of peanuts the other day and shoved em in my mouth without even thinking then had a mad panic like I'd jst poisoned the bump! All ok tho, since I had my dd 3 yrs ago they've (Google and babycentre!) decided there's no proof tht eating or not eating peanuts prevents or causes allergies.... I think tht as long as you're reasonably happy the mayo has been kept well refridgerated etc it'll b fine.

Cadmum · 04/09/2012 13:49

Sorry for never being around. I try to read the posts every other day but I am being a single parent in a new country as dh is away for 10 days.

Thinking of you catch. I hope you get some answers soon. Hello to everyone else. I have a scan on Monday morning when I will be just over ten weeks. Stressful but silly sinceearly scans have always been fine for me. I am sick, exhausted, sore chested and constantly eating so that is a fairly good indication that things are as they should be.

Secret confession: I really hope it is twins. I love even numbers but I don't think I can do this again... I may have to deal with 5 dcs. (Realistically, I know it is not possible that it is 2 as I felt too tired to function when expecting twins. Ah well. I can dream until Monday.

MrsSimkins · 04/09/2012 14:18

Thanks catch as long as its just bit of sensitivity on my head then I can cope with that I just don't want to harm the baby. They do often use a toner as it sometimes goes a little golden but as i only short roots it shouldn't need it.
teapig my midwife said that mayo is fine if its a branded one (i.e. heinz, hellmans etc.) but to steer clear of homemade mayo. But as my mum keeps saying - they ate everything, drank and smoked through their pregnancies and we all turned out fine, so a little mayo shouldn't hurt.
Whats this about nuts though???? I hadn't heard about not having those?
x

CatchAsCatchCan · 04/09/2012 15:20

Thanks for the kind thoughts, ladies, they mean so much. Have just got home from A&E. The gynaecologist was lovely, and really sensitive and encouraging. Unfortunately, all he could tell me was that my cervix is still closed (so I guess I'm not actively miscarrying, which is positive); the blood tests don't say much in isolation. The visit wasn't a wasted effort, though; he changed my scan tomorrow to the EPU instead, saying that the department where I was originally supposed to have it may not have had sonographers who were properly trained to do an early pregnancy scan. I'm glad I didn't just show up tomorrow and find that out on the day!

Anyway, I'm still bleeding (and it's changed in quality again; a bit more liquidy now, to the point where it's showing on my pad) and still having cramps. FX that tomorrow's scan shows a heartbeat and that little one is just attempting the ultimate fake-out on me, but I think after all this bleeding and pain, I'm ready to accept the idea that it's not meant to be just yet. We'll see.

Teapig, if it was store bought mayo, it should be fine - they use pasteurised eggs. I'm afraid I was a bit of an idiot a couple weeks ago; we had friends over and I made an aioli to go w/ asparagus, all the while telling DH that I couldn't eat it. As soon as we sat down to dinner, I completely forgot, and plopped a healthy dollop down and ate it all up! I'm sure you'll be fine, is what I'm saying.

Lola06 · 04/09/2012 15:33

Oh Catch there is nothing worse than not getting any answers. On the positive though the closed cervix is a good thing. Not actively miscarrying is surely something to cling onto. With the bleeding and cramps so far I would have thought it would have shown by now.

Relax tonight and try to look after yourself. I wouldn't say you are out just yet, it's amazing how many stories you hear of people bleeding either all the way through or having really heavy bleeds with cramps and baby is just fine.

Remember - PUPO!! So sorry you're having to go through this though. Keeping fingers crossed tomorrow gives you some lovely news and you see a strong, healthy heartbeat. x

CatchAsCatchCan · 04/09/2012 15:45

Aw, thanks Lola, you're so sweet. Smile Hold on... think I just have something in my eye...

Anyway, will keep you all posted.

MrsSimkins · 04/09/2012 16:08

Fingers crossed for you for tomorrow catch Like Lola said PUPO! Try your best to relax tonight and then it'll be scan day and you'll hopefully see a cheeky little heartbeat in there knowing its messing you around!

HaveALittleFaith · 04/09/2012 16:53

Sorry to hear its no news yet catch, hoping the scan tomorrow shows a thumping little heart!

Mama1980 · 04/09/2012 17:34

Fingers crossed for you tomorrow catch, I will be thinking of you x

Teapig · 04/09/2012 17:56

Sorry you didn't get answers Catch but good news that you will definitely have a scan tomorrow. I really hope you get to see a little heart beat and your bean was just messing around. Stay strong x

I'm not going to panic too much about the mayo. I don't know if it was shop bought or homemade, it was from some fancy place that I won't be going back to. I can't seem to find a sandwich in London without bloody mayo in it at the moment. I'll have to be more organised and bring a packed lunch to work from now on.

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 04/09/2012 18:29

Oh, catch! Fingers crossed that you get a reassuring little wave on the screen tomorrow! Could the liquidy bleeding that you're having just be a combination of the spotting you've been having and watery CM that most of us have experienced recently?

Got my booking apt for next Wednesday. Unfortunately it's another apt in working hours, so thats the 4th time I've had to take time of work because of this pregnancy and medical appointments, folk at work are going to guess before I have a chance to break the news at this rate!

steph2412 · 04/09/2012 18:43

Got everything crossed for you catch hope everything goes well tomoro!i have my booking app tomoro and ill be 8+1 so hoping it wont be to long for the scan x

CamelKnees · 04/09/2012 18:57

Evening all

catch glad the gynae at a&e was understanding - it makes all the difference doesn't it? Will be keeping everything crossed for you tomorrow.

No news here. Still feel shite. Still chanting PUPO PUPO PUPO to self like a crazy person. Oh and nearly fell asleep on the loo today at work! How is it possible to so tired?????

7+1

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 04/09/2012 19:25

Some one please tell me that this over sensitive sense of smell goes soon. I can't stand it.
We have moved home recently and this house still doesn't smell like our own, and it makes me gip! I've bought air freshness, but they're just as bad. It's getting to the point that my own clothes make me feel sick because of the fabric conditioner we're using. Bad smells are horrible, but 'nice' smells are just as bad. Why can't everything just have no smell.
Bring back the hayfever!!!

EssexWelsh · 04/09/2012 19:28

Well first day back went well...til about 4.30, when I had to run out of a meeting with all of senior management and projectile throw up in the Headteacher's toilet! Wonder if at least 1 hasn't guessed yet?! Still feeling awful, first major headache today, I hope to god this ms ends at 12 weeks, please don't let me be one of the 'few' that get it for all 40!

Dandelion75 · 04/09/2012 19:51

Poor you catch - what a day. Glad that A&E were sympathetic and helpful though, and sounds like they have made sure you will be seeing someone who can really help tomorrow. Good luck - will be looking out for your update x

teapig - I've eaten loads of mayo. It's fine as long as its from a jar, as it's all cooked and pasteurised. I'm constantly eating stuff and then thinking hmmm, was it ok to eat that?! Seems to me that there is someone somewhere who has a reason why you should avoid every food in the world while pg, but I'm ignoring everything except the NHS website.

Big news in our house today - its confirmed I can eat Boursin cheese! Hooray! Grin Never normally eat the stuff but at the moment all kinds of cheeses are on the menu at every meal. Found myself nibbling a Babybel on the bus to work at 7am yesterday morning Blush

Bit the bullet and bought a pair of size 14 work trousers today - they fit ok. Ow bdonate snug and won't last long so god only knows how I've been cramming myself into my usual 12s Confused

angeltattoo · 04/09/2012 20:01

Keeping everything crossed for you here catch, closed cervix is good, hopefully the scan be will fine and this time tomorrow all will be well.

Increased MS here, now vomming a lot more...when, oh when, does this end?!

EssexWelsh · 04/09/2012 20:30

Just caught up on today, good luck for tomo catch, I had quite a bit of bleeding around same time as you, so do stay PUPO!

Giddypants · 04/09/2012 21:11

catch hope all goes well for the scan tomorrow will be thinking of you and sending you some positive vibes x

Was feeling really full and sick last night, got up this morning and dry heaved for 10 minutes, had to go into work for a critical care update, mid chest compressions I nearly vommed all over resuscitate Annie and had to make a quick get away to the loos, luckily everyone at work knows and took the piss more than anything, said I'd killed poor Annie!
Went to see my friend's 2 day old baby today, 7lb something, but he looked so small!!! Can't believe in 7 months or so we will be having one of those to take home! Scary thought Smile

Rivergirly · 04/09/2012 21:15

phew finally caught up - been too knackered the last few days to even look at the laptop - I don't remember being this tired this early before!!! Maybe its the fact I already have 2 children, its the end of the long summer holidays and I had to go back to work today!!

The proposal (for those that were asking) was not particularly romantic but was sooooo unexpected that it was good enough for me!! I was just washing up in the kitchen when he came in from work all excited as he had a surprise for me, ordered me to remove the marigolds and there he was on his knee in my kitchen, ring in hand!!!! We had gone from him being 3 weeks earlier completely unsure that he wanted another child to being sooo excited about it and on his knee!!! He's not the sort of man that makes a commitment easily so I know that he just couldnt wait for the "right" moment.

Anyway, on another note Catch I hope all goes okay for you - I bled with both my first pregnancies for a week or so each and my boys survived. Fx.

I have to confess that I have just purchased my first pair of maternity jeans and they are so much more comfortable - now I really need some work trousers too - anyone got any ideas where to shop - the only place i could find in the nearest city to us was Mothercare but I am a shorty so the trousers are never any good to me!!!

wishfulthinking1 · 04/09/2012 21:17

Just had a quick catch up on the thread.

catch - will be thinking of you tomorrow, won't be able to post until the evening, but know that you'll be in my thoughts - fx it'll all be ok.

essex - I told my head, I haven't vomited in her office yet! But she does keep giving me secret smiles when I see her in the corridor!

teapig [passes the prune juice] you'll have to share it- I'm still it regular yet and I'm SO gassy! I swear I look like I'm 4 months pg this evening, so so bloated- trapped wind- what a delight!!!

Got my booking in appointment after school tomorrow- looking forward to getting scan date. Haven't got my maternity exemption card through yet. It arrived about a week after my first dr appointment last time (with truly shit timing it arrived on the day I began miscarrying!!) Will ask midwife about it tomorrow, I think I need something more medical to help with me irregularity problem- its really starting to become painful, and I dont want it to get worse!!

dandelion damn you for mentioning Boursin!! Now all I can think of is it's creamy garlicky goodness! I'm off to the shops tomorrow! Have you seen the advert for the new one? Can't exactly remember what was in it, but I do remember watching the tv ad and thinking that I HAD to have some!!

Xxxx

9+2!
