Thanks flowery that's a really good list. I can hardly remember anything from last time and ebayed a lot of newborn stuff so need to start again!

If anyone does end up bottle feeding then you will need at least 6 bottles, formula, bottle brush and a steriliser (I prefer cold water sterilising but it's a personal thing)

sheldonella I get those pains too, something to do with ligaments stretching apparently. Hope you're ok now!

Well, I need to get on with my day. If I can't get dh off his iPad soon I may ram it somewhere unmentionable.

Sheldonella · 27/08/2012 09:13

pips I had been up since 630 and had breakfast. I can't mumsnet on an empty stomach (or do anything else) :)

Ooh, 3 days until my scan!

backwardpossom · 27/08/2012 09:23

DS is a pain in the neck. He cried and cried when I left him at school this morning... he only does it for me. When the childminder takes him, he goes in no bother, but when I take him he goes crazy. GRRRR!!!! Why?!!!!

12 weeks today, scan next week. 7 days to go...

theTramp · 27/08/2012 09:27

& I think I am up early at 08.30am :)

Quick Q - anyone feel like their stomach is being stretched? I appreciate that this sounds daft, because at some point it will, but at 10+ weeks I thought that was unlikely. I'm not sure if it is gas related (not something I usually suffer from, bit like heart burn which I had for the first time recently & honestly I thought I was in serious trouble) or if it really is stretching. It isn't the most pleasant sensation - bit like when you stretch up for something and slightly over stretch and your stomach muscles have a moan at you.

I'm reading my pregnancy and fitness book and I feel exhausted just reading it.

Oh and thank you for the newborn lists, really helpful.

FloweryBoots · 27/08/2012 09:27

Anything after 6am is a lie in in this house! but at least DS normally gtes up 6 6.15 now. not liek a few months ago when it was any time after 5am!

Pips I'd love to get a bedside cot this time round - DS spent so much time in bed with us and I fancied one last time but DH didn't and the one I like is £££. So, we got a nice, solid oak none the less, cot on sale in M&P, which was still a lot in my opinion so now I really don't feel I can justify another! Oh but I want one of these: www.nctshop.co.uk/NCT-Bednest-Bedside-Crib/productinfo/4364/

They don't look that big though so I bet you end up still having to buy a bigger 'normal cot'

DS is still in his cot. He's never tried to climb out so there's no need to move him out of it excpet we don't want him to still think of it as his by the time we need it for the next one. On holiday last week he got quite excited by the 'big beds' in the room we said was his so we never put his travel cot up and he slept in a normal bed and was fine. So, think we'll have to bight the bullet and bed shop for him soon.

FloweryBoots · 27/08/2012 09:27

oops, think this will make the link work

zoeymlucas · 27/08/2012 09:31

Oooh sheld is it you that's my scan buddy 8.30 on Thursday morning? My second one is 9.15, lol!
I would love breakfast but the thought makes me reach, I can't normally stomach food till about midday at mo at which point I am starving marving!
I have fallen in love with the iCandy peach but really not sure budget will allow, mum said she would help and DH said something about selling one of my mulberry handbags that I don't use and cost £900.00- but that sounds painful!!!!!

Glad some people are turning the 12 week corner and starting to feel better I am hoping I will be one of them as will be 12 weeks wednesday

FloweryBoots · 27/08/2012 09:32

Oh dear, I've put one on my ebay watch list. £150, no bids, 1 day to go. There's no way DH will go for it.

sundaesundae · 27/08/2012 09:35

Morning all! flowery thanks for the list, too scared to look at it properly just yet though :o)

sheldonella I am having lots and lots of stretchy ligamenty pains again, I seem to get them for a few hours every few weeks. Definitely not womb (i can feel my fundus now) so I am not too worried.

possum I'm 12 weeks today too, and still feeling sick and my norks are sorer than they have been for weeks! So no magic 12 week feeling better yet!

jojo my bladder is picking up pace, I seem to need the loo when it isn't as full as it once was, if that makes sense. And every blinking night I have to get up for a wee, it is very annoying!

I feel very fat too! My maternity jeans are too big, my normal ones do up but are uncomfy, I might buy a bump band, but desperately trying to wait till after Wednesday scan, I feel like the only person who hasn't seen a midwife or had an early scan or anything. Still petrified of a MMC, I don't think MN helps as it seems like most people have had a sad experience so it makes it feel more likely, but I guess in reality the people who have had a sad experience search out support.

Back to feeling fat, last night all I wanted was Burger King, so I know I am not helping myself. I need to start meal planning and having healthy snacks around now the nausea is easing a bit. I am still beyond exhausted so exercise is not appealing, I am hoping i can start swimming or aqua as my energy improves a bit.

Sheldonella · 27/08/2012 09:38

zoey Mine is at 11. I'm still very nervous about it despite having my private scan. I will be 12 weeks exactly I think. We can only start feeling better from now on, surely. Also, sell a handbag?? Noooo! :)

Funnylittleturkishdelight · 27/08/2012 09:43

flowery you are such a star!! Armed with your list I will attack with a calculator!

HarrietJonesPrimeMinister · 27/08/2012 09:44

Was going to do a list but flowery beat me to it. I'm v much a minimalistic baby shopper and would have done a similar list.

We are waiting for planning permission to do some work in the house(listed building) and then will be able to clear dd3s room for her to move into. We need her in a bed so baby can have the cot.

Sunnymeadows · 27/08/2012 09:45

zoey i have urticaria (itchy skin from allergies) and some people develop it in pregnancy. Unfortunately for me i had it before but fortunately (touch wood) it seems to be getting better atm. Anyway before pregnancy i was on antihistamines, had to give them up when trying and my gp won't prescribe me them whilst pregnant. But i have discovered E45 itch cream. My sister uses it for her ezema (sp?) and i use it for urticaria. It works well and doesnt harm bean. I was buying from boots and now have it on prescription. Just a suggestion to give you some relief x

JoJoBella84 · 27/08/2012 10:25

Grumpy post alert.
After another night of very disturbed sleep and waking up feeling nauseous this morning (it took me an hour to eat a slice of toast) I am officially fed up. I cannot be bothered to get back on an overcrowded train for 6 hours, I can't be bothered to pack an overnight bag. I have NOTHING in a suitable colour I can wear to the funeral tomorrow. As everything is too tight or old and scruffy.
I want some energy, I want to feel 15 weeks pregnant -- I'm in my second trimester I should be feeling healthier and happier :(
I can't even have an afternoon nap on the train as for some reason I don't have a seat reservation! If I have to stand for 6 hours I won't be happy.
Grrrrrr. Where is the glow? The energy? The generally being happy and excited about being pg??!

pipsicles · 27/08/2012 10:26

Sorry if I caused offence Sheldon! 6.30 is NOT a lie in at all! I hope things settle down for you soon.

Not many cribs on eBay atm - problem being they are usually collection only, so have to be local. I can't remember where you are Flowery, but there are a couple on preloved and gumtree, which might be worth a look? I'm aiming for no more than £150...

pipsicles · 27/08/2012 10:30

JoJo I'm sorry to hear you're feeling blue :( It seems you have a lot on your plate right now, in addition to being one of the unlucky ones who seems to take a little longer to get over the first trimester pains. Can you perhaps schedule yourself in a day, or even just a morning, afternoon or evening when you can do something just for you? Perhaps a nice long soak in a bath with a book, or anything else that might help you take your mind off things and relax a bit? I hope things improve soon. ((hugs))

Funnylittleturkishdelight · 27/08/2012 10:44

Oh jojo I'm so sorry you feel so poorly still- it will get better!

Hope everyone starts to feel a bit brighter soon, we'll all be blooming lovely in no time, I'm sure!

flowery bedside cot sounds great and I totally understand why you'd want one. I have no room in our bedroom at all, so just a Moses basket (and not sure that will fit that easily to be honest) and pray for a lottery win.

Sheldonella · 27/08/2012 11:23

No offence taken at all pips :) I'm totally sure my definitions will change totally next year!

Oh JoJo I feel for you. I get up about 6 times in the night now to wee, it's getting silly. I hope your journey runs smoothly. Can you sleep on the train?

lannyshrops · 27/08/2012 11:49

Morning all! Hope most of us are well today? For those who are not lots and lots of love and hugs, especially jo Jo. From what I can gather you are being super amazing managing to do what you are doing, I'm sure it will get better soon xxx

Thanks for the list flowery Will write down for reference

JoJoBella84 · 27/08/2012 11:54

Thanks ladies, just having one of those days I guess! In general I feel do much better than I did in the first few weeks - I should probably man up and get used to a disturbed night's sleep!
sheldon a nap on the train may not be possible. I don't have a seat reserved (no idea what went wrong there) so if it's as crowded as I'm expecting it to be I'm in trouble!! I might stuff some pillows down my top and pretend to be more pregnant!!!
pips a me day would be lovely. In fact, just a day planning the nursery would be lovely. I want to collect paint samples and feel like I'm contributing to the house repairs somehow!!!
turkish fx for that bloom soon! I need my energy levels back, I've felt really unsociable this past two days with the IL's visiting and I've just taken myself off for naps and had to occasionally get away from the general madness of it all.
They really are fabulous and supportive... But if my heads not in the right place I find them to be a bit of a strain and need regular time outs to keep a sense of humour!!

Re bedside cribs: I would love one but it's a definite no no as baby will not be in our room at night. In fact it's quite likely I'll be getting an angel care monitor with breathing sensors (can anyone rate them?) as the OH can't be disturbed every two hours with the work he does (would be unsafe for him to work tired or fatigued). It's more likely I'll spend the first few months in the spare room!!!
I'm buying my Moses basket tomorrow. An old school
Friend is selling hers with stand and blankets for £15. I can't turn it down really :) I've been offered a loan of one for free but as I'll be 400 miles away from the person loaning it, it's going to be difficult giving it back when she needs it!
I've also been handed down a nappy bin (apparently it seals everything away whiff free), a pink bumbo, oodles of bottles, a steriliser (even though I'm hoping to BF), rocking crib, I'm hoping for some hand me down clothes and I bought a baby carrier from eBay :)
I'm still spending about £500 on pram and car seat and about £550 on nursery furniture though. I have a lovely big squishy arm chair for BF!

JoJoBella84 · 27/08/2012 11:57

Thanks lanny not exactly sure what I'm doing BUT the thought of being super amazing doing it is a wonderful thought ;)

zoeymlucas · 27/08/2012 13:06

Hi Jojo I had an angel care monitor with DS2 and I couldn't be without it, really gives u piece of mind even though he was in my room for 7 months!

Ds1 was 12 weeks early and had apnoea so used to stop breathing so we had a hospital one for him so with Ds2 I couldn't imagine being without one as it really made things feel safer and let me sleep better - it's the one thing I couldn't be without and would defo recommend it :)

Thanks for the tip on the E45 cream have sent DH out to buy some after he threatened to tape oven mitts on me to stop me scratching, lol!
Having a nice day with DH having a chilled day eating rubbish , he even made home made Belgium buns for me.

Em2010 · 27/08/2012 13:11

Ah jojo hope things pick up for you soon. I have down days they are horrible and you have such a lot on your plate at the moment. I really admire do many of you ladies coping with so many challenges. We have the angel care monitor and it is fab! I really recommend them. The only downside is if you forget to turn them off when you pick baby up, then the alarm goes off!! Sounds like you've got a good booty put together already though!

Feeling really sick here today. Need to go out with dh and ds but can't get off the bed... urghh!

JoJoBella84 · 27/08/2012 14:08

I found a seat on the train with all the leg room and right next to the loo!! It's in the disabled area but I dare any train conductor to try and move me :)
I'm probably going to eBay the baby monitor as I can't afford the £90 new price. Am I right in thinking there are different versions? Any better than others?
