Hey girls! Very quick one! Welcome newbies (sorry not to name check but on phone and far to difficult and brain like sieve!)
Went to in laws last night and had a look at all the stuff sil had donated...can't believe it....baby gym, bouncer, stairgates, monitor, sitty ring thing, toys, light weight buggy, sling, bath chair, top and tail bowl, cot...we were in baby heaven!!!!! It's helping us out so much, I'm kind of speechless today! It's staying at the pil's for now but just knowing it's there makes me all warm and fuzzy!!! :-) eeek!

Sil also told me about mn so I think she deserves some extra special thankyou presents for that alone!
I'm 12+1 today and feeling wonderful!!! Can you tell?! I'm been considering doing some excercise (used to gym 3-4 times a week before pg) which must mean I'm turning the corner?!?! Just ordered a new Pilates pg DVD and wish it was here! Might have to contentyself with a power walk, its a beautiful morning so prob a good idea! Hope everyone starts to feel better soon, esp those with ongoim health problems < love and hugs to all>

turkish what about some a line dresses? Will still feel like you if your a dress kind of lady?

So so happy, hope I'm managing to spread the love to my fellow marchers :-) xxx

Hello marking my place on shiny new thread. Sorry havent been on in a while, busy, busy. Can't believe we are on our 4th thread already. Madness lol.

So 4 more sleeps until my scan at 8.30 on Thursday. Equally scared shitless and totally excited. After scan dropping DH at work (they only gave him an hour including journey to hospital and back) then will get train to work and have an hour to go through how i will tell my boss. Worried about that too but should be Ok.

Not been sick but still feel sick and boobs still tender.

Cleaned the kitchen cupboards yesterday, very rewarding. Today Im sorting boxes of photos from the spare (soon to be nursery) into photo albums. Need to start clearing stuff at least.

I plan to take 6months mat leave, i get 18weeks at 90% pay so that's quite good but any longer and money will be tight. I only plan to take more if bean is very premature, which hopefully not. My Bf had her 1st at 24weeks and is still in hospital 3months on.

Anyway enjoy your bank hols, it's raining here! X

Morning Everyone!
Re maternity clothes Turkish, I'd recommend having a look on eBay for makes and then seeing the styles different companies do iyswim. I can't think of any companies that are like body con dresses right now but there are a lot of wrap dresses at Boden. I've bought a couple of items off eBay but tbh I've not been impressed by the quality, there seem to be quite a few bundles that are stained and have holes in. I get quite a lot of my wardrobe from eBay (addiction to Howies and Boden that my salary won't cover new!) and I've been a little disappointed by the maternity offerings.
8 days til scan, morning sickness has died down and now just a background icky feeling that gets worse if I get hungry. Went out for friends 30th birthday last night, bowling (which made me ache Sad) and a gorgeous pizza - potato and taleggio pizza - potato on pizza is divine!

pinkpeony4 · 26/08/2012 08:20

Good Morning!

I have an Isabella Oliver black wrap dress from ds1 and it has been my smart pregnancy staple for every pregnancy. So comfy. I also have some amazingly comfy black trousers from them too. They were very long when they arrived (& I am 5ft 8) but I just got the dry cleaners to take them up. Turkish they have lots of body con style dresses too. I found a lovely website for occasion dresses too called Tiffany Rose. We have a wedding come up so it will be nice to have something smart to wear. I think it has a good re-sale value on ebay too.

I also live in an area of SW London that is full of maternity and baby shops. It's known as nappyvalley!!

Manda Fantastic news about your scan Grin how lovely to be seen every 2-4 weeks. Are they identical? My friend had amazing care when she was having her twins. She even got a private room for 5 days in hospital after they were born.

Lanny How lovely to have so much baby stuff given to you. I have told my sister she can have all of mine after this pregnancy. It will be nice to clear some space because all of our storage is filled with baby clothes and equipment!

Well it's still very weird here with no little boys. Managed to sleep until 7.30 this morning which is amazing for me! Smile We went out for a delicious meal last night after a day of doing very little. Going to go out for brunch today. Very excited about going to collect the boys tomorrow but need to make the most of being able to do very little today I think!

Have a lovely Sunday.

Funnylittleturkishdelight · 26/08/2012 08:31

Lots of lovely news this morning!

lanny that is great to have so many lovely baby things! What a lovely SIL you have!

sunny I was so scared too but nothing is more wonderful after all that worry to see your baby waving at you in the monitor- just hold on, only a few more sleeps!

hb I think wrap dresses are the way forward- great shout

pink I wish I could wear trousers but I just hate them. Thank you for the posh dress tips though! Everyone loves a posh dress!

Off to price up maternity stuff today at the discount mamas and papas close to us- need to start a budget!

theTramp · 26/08/2012 09:27

I third Isabelle Oliver recommendation. Every pregnant friend I know has one of their wrap dressed and swears by them. Apparently they cope with your growing bump so no need to buy anything else.

Im off to do some shopping today. It's a bit early really but if I don't get some comfy trousers, bras and shirts that fit over boobs i'll go mad. Not much needed, but at least a pair of jeans. You should see how excited MrM isn't about coming with :)

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 26/08/2012 09:30

Hi all and thanks tiddley on setting up the new thread. Welcome to new ladies, ooeee I used to live in South Yorks, in fact was down there year having my hair done!

Great news on scans ted snd manda!! 14 days til my scan. Oh my god the time is going so slowly.

Got ILs stopping and all my clothes, including pants etc are in the room they are stopping in, so am lying in bed waiting for them to bugger off downstairs so i can actually get dressed!!!

DH wanted to tell them the news last night and I said no. He really pissed me off cos he told me that we shouldnt tell anyone, including my best friend, especially after what happened with MMC last time. But now his folks are here, he wants to spill! But I put my foot down and told him they will have to bloody well wait this time like everybody else. With DD, we ended up telling them really early as they are dairy farmers and drink milk fresh from the cow on the farm, and i obv couldn't do that when we were up there, so they knew when I was about 7 weeks. Why should they always get to know before any of my blimmin family, just CID he can't hold his own water. His argument was that we won't see them for a while after this, so won't be able to tell them face to face - Same as everyone else thenHmm. Sorry for rant, just gets on my nerves that it's one rule for everyone else and a different one for them....

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 26/08/2012 09:32

Please excuse typos!!!

theTramp · 26/08/2012 09:34

Ethel - he just sounds v excited. I understand why you're annoyed but it's quite cute when you think about it. He wants to tell his Mum he's going to be a Dad!

By the way awesome haul from SIL. how fab is she!

Funnylittleturkishdelight · 26/08/2012 09:59

Ethel I can understand you feeling annoyed, at least he agreed and you will both wait.

Am googling wrap dresses now! I need five dresses I can rotate- I'm dreading the kids noticing and asking questions! Wonder how long I can get away with it for...

tedmundo · 26/08/2012 10:00

lexi and manda wonderful news on your scan / nt results. So pleased for you.

Welcome to all the newbies. Don't let the speed of the thread put you off! I only name check on the iPad as it is impossible to scroll back on the phone! On my phone I just me me me post! Haha!

pipsicles .. I love that your DH calls us your girls. My DH just looks a bit worried and ask "what are you telling them now??"

lanny .. I can feel your warm glow from here. That is super kind of your SIL and what a massive help it will be having all that stuff already. She sounds like a SIL worth having, bless her.

backwardpossom · 26/08/2012 10:19

Funny I went back last week (Scotland) and I've been wearing leggings/tunic combinations, mostly! I find after lunch the worst as I get quite bloated and look about 5 months gone! I ended up telling my HoD on Thursday as I thought it looked really obvious... she said she never noticed though!

I woke up this morning feeling MUCH better. Grin Dare I hope that I'm over the feeling shit stage? I'm 12 weeks tomorrow...

sundaesundae · 26/08/2012 10:27

possum I am 12 weeks tomorrow too and I feel much better as well... trying not to let it worry me ahead of first scan on Wednesday morning! my norks are still sore, but I don't feel so bone tired or sick.

scubastevie · 26/08/2012 10:54

Hi everyone
Sorry I know I haven't posted for ages and don't regularly post. I always read the thread and catch up on all the news though, I have just been so so sick and the meds they gave me made me feel so drowsy.

backward and sundae I'm glad you said you are feeling better. I'm 11+3 today and dare I say that yesterday and this morning I've been a bit better

mandasand · 26/08/2012 10:58

Hey everyone - thanks for the scan congrats! Had a bottle of 1% Waitrose cider last night to celebrate and I swear I have a hangover this morning! Back down to earth today and back at the desk, writing, bleurgh.

Tramp that vegan dinner sounds absolutely lovely! Your friend is very lucky!

You got there at last JoJo?! Hope you have fun sitting in the new house!

Thanks backward I signed up for the Boots parenting club and will look forward to my free changing bag! (And the spam?)

Vivee my scan date came forward by a few days, but I don't know what\s typical. I guess it may depend on how predictable your cycle is? (Mine was all over the place as I'd just come off long-term contraceptives.

Lanny that's great! What a lovely SiL! One of our mates has said she'll get her old stuff back from her sis, and we've already got three bags full of little boy clothes from them in the loft.

Em I looooove Betty's! Both of them in Harrogate are lovely :-) Blimmin expensive, but nice for treating parents and MiL.

Pink The twins are 90% probably nontidentical as they are in separate sacs with their own placentas. This is the safest kind of twin to have as they are independent and won't steal resources from each other (which can be very dangerous). I love this - think it's just like having two siblings all at once! Remind me of this come December when I'm as heavy as a singleton pregnancy with two more months of growing to go!

Ethel stick to your guns! DH texted me from work the other day to say he was going to phone his mum because he couldn't wait any longer (he was waiting for the 12-week scan). I put my foot down, saying it's our news to share together, and so he waited and it was great that we both phoned her yesterday and hear her excitement. She and I haven't been getting on that well this past year or so, so I think DH and I are hoping the babies might smooth things along. Certainly she emailed me twice last night, so things look to be on the up.

ted that's exactly what my DH does! But he loves hearing all the reassuring, helpful advice etc that comes around.

I got an Isabella Oliver dress for a tenner on eBay and it's nice. Very skin tight, so for comfort I'd probably wear a cardi with it, but I think it's going to be great for winter. It's not exactly what I'd buy if I was in a shop, but it's smart and will be absolutely great for work. The shop assistant in JLewis the other day recommended Boden. She said she got away with buying just a few pieces - they wash so well that they looked new the whole time.

theTramp · 26/08/2012 11:24

We're off for brunch in 7 dials & then some cheeky shopping. MrMs not looking too thrilled by prospect but the walk will do us good. I'm wearing one of my loosest a-line dresses today and it just scraped over the boobs. Am also wearing fire box red tights. Who's going to notice a bump when there's v long v red legs on show ;)

Scan is booked for Friday 7th & flights to Belfast to tell MrMs family for Saturday 8th. Going to try to get baby bro out on Friday eve to tell him he's to be an Uncle. I know it's tempting fate a bit but sod it, positive thinking!

Loving all the clothes advice ladies.

Em2010 · 26/08/2012 12:55

Morning All, just a quick post - i dont think i have any bump! ivam supposed to be nearly 13 weeks! please can someone reassure me that this is ok?! I'm home alone with ds and spring cleaning and getting really stressed out about the flat tummy! Sad it's not like I have any spare padding for it to be hiding under either Sad

Think I am just getting stressed cos scan is upcoming. Sorry for the me,me, me post.

Sunnymeadows · 26/08/2012 13:54

I've got the voucher for the changing bag but you have to also buy a pack of pampers too. They sent me vouchers with a 4 week date, won't use them coz it's too early to buy wipes etc just yet. Oh well x

HarrietJonesPrimeMinister · 26/08/2012 14:07

em just means you still have stomach muscles Envy

theTramp · 26/08/2012 14:55

What Harriet said Em. Colous me jealous. I've web shopping & my belly is all flab :( Not the time to diet or stress about it though.

So bra - I'm no longer 34DD I'm now an E or F cup. Flip
Me! Weird thing is I don't look that boobalicious - I think it's just a case of being bigger. Anyway, crimminey. Still 7 new assorted colour bras from John Lewis now mine and sooo comfy. Bliss!

theTramp · 26/08/2012 14:57

Web shopping? I've no idea

Sunnymeadows · 26/08/2012 15:34

I've got the voucher for the changing bag but you have to also buy a pack of pampers too. They sent me vouchers with a 4 week date, won't use them coz it's too early to buy wipes etc just yet. Oh wel. Ps Im sitting on the beach and it's lovely x

shieldbug · 26/08/2012 16:14

Great news about scans. I'm still awaiting my first on the 10th Sept (having moved from the 3rd Sept massive). Seems so long away.

Everybody pretty much knows about my pg now; it's impossible to hide it when my bump extends beyond my boobs and I'm blatantly in maternity clothes. One of the church ladies said "hello" to me in Tescos the other day and didn't look at my face, but at the rather evident bump, so I gave her a cheery hello in return and sailed on. A bit mean, since she was obviously dying to ask, but to be fair, I was actually in a hurry.

Re bra size, I've no idea as i just whack on my mat ones from last time, but I know they're big cos of dh's face whenever he looks at them!

em no bump is perfectly normal at this stage; the rest of us just have weak abdominal muscles/ twins/ fibroids. In my case, I'm hoping the scan shows it's only 2 out of 3! Don't think I've room for 2 beans in there.

tramp pack plenty of waterproofs for the 8th, although I'm sure you're used to our delightful weather over here!

Wonder if I can persuade dh I need an Isabelle Oliver dress?

Funnylittleturkishdelight · 26/08/2012 16:27

backward I wish we could wear leggings but my place is really strict- it has to be office wear, which in these situations really sucks.

em I don't have a proper bump at all- I'm 13+4 and just have huge boobs suddenly (whereas before they were tiny) and as I always wore really tight clothes NOTHING is going to fit.

Must get back on ASOS- did a huge order then stupidly put the wrong code in at the end for my card, and it rejected it. Stupid stupid stupid!

Em2010 · 26/08/2012 17:21

Thanks for all your reassurance ladies! Very comforting although I'm not sure about the tummy muscles!!

I took ds bra shopping in mothercare this afternoon. Stating the obvious but two year olds and bra shopping do not mix. Additionally I have evidently been under the allusion that I was a 32 B but it turns our after much huffing, puffing and sweating that my trusty bras have probably just stretched beyond belief in the wash. I was foxed by the sizes and am going to have to go to a proper bra shop and get measured up!

turkish wrap dresses are lovely and so comfy but a word of warning: they don't hide much!!

I love my boots changing bag!!! But think I might push the boat out this time and get a cath kidston one.

Hope everyone has had good Sundays. Hooray for bank holiday tomorrow!
