Stealth I hope your DS has a fab first day at school.

JoJo I hope you feel better soon and that this is just a one off bad day!

MrsR I hope today is a better day at work. I have been feeling movement with this bean since about 10 wks which is lovely. In my other pregnancies I had an anterior placenta so didn't feel movement for ages.

Turkish I am feeling a bit like that too. This inbetween stage is horrid, I can't wait to have a proper bump so maternity clothes fit and I actually look pregnant. When I bump into people who don't know, I can just see them staring at my tummy! Makes me v self conscious!

Zoey well done for taking a well deserved sicky. I hope you are able to rest & that you feel better soon.

Congrats on good scans Rainbow, Gummi & Tea

Sarah your ebay bundle sounds fab!

Em white jeans to a farm?! Good luck! Grin

I have the knitty Gritty book too and it's fab. I have only managed to knit ds1 a wonky hat and a cushion cover so far. I am determined to knit something cute for ds4.

Has anyone got any of the Gap Always Skinny maternity jeans? If so, what are they like? They have 30% off everything at Gap at the moment so tempted. I like the idea of a nude bump band so that it doesn't show under pale clothes.

zoeymlucas · 06/09/2012 13:52

Well doctors done and I have an ear infection in both ears which is effecting my balance hence sickness etc- have ear drops and nose spray to try and help but have been to 3 chemists and none have it!
Now back in bed with a DVD and rocket lolly on doctors orders as apparently my blood pressure is very low (90/61) which means dyhdration- feeling a bit cheerier I am not just being feeble but am actually ill

JoJoBella84 · 06/09/2012 14:02

sheldon I'm also going with the wall stickers, ive seen a really pretty design in JoJoMamanBebe. It's called tree top friends and is very nice, I'm unsure it's going to match in with the sunflower yellow on the walls but I'm a sucker for autumnal colours!!

On the subject of crochet there is a new mag being advertised on the TV, might be worth any newbies picking up the first copy as you get a hook and some yarn and I'm sure it'll give the basics!!
I'm probably not even going to try!! I'm terrible at such stuff, Infact I have no idea why I'm do good at counted cross stitch. Not that I've done any in 5 years or so!!

JoJoBella84 · 06/09/2012 14:07

zoey my BP was 92/60 at my last appt and wasn't even mentioned to me. Just noted down! I know from my studies that a BP that falls below 90/60 needs monitoring as that is classed as 'low'.

Sheldonella · 06/09/2012 14:15

Ooh I didn't know JoJoMamanBebe did wall stickers, they are very nice. The ones I've ordered are these

zoeymlucas · 06/09/2012 14:22

If its below 100/60 they should get u to stand up if it gets better even a little it's fine but mine didn't t all - urs does sound a bit low though ESP for no reason I would watch that!

Good news for us all doctors said at this stage baby just takes sugar so need a steady intake through the day- medical reason to eat chocolate just what I need, lol!

JoJoBella84 · 06/09/2012 14:35

sheldon how do you create a link on here?? I want to add mine :)
zoey I thought it was odd that stuffing my face with sugar has really helped my dizziness!! This morning has been sponsored by full fat coke and haribo giant strawbs!!

zoeymlucas · 06/09/2012 14:58

jojo we can all not feel guilty now about the sweets- DH come to doctors so bought me cherry coke, cream cakes and haribo- glad he come in with me now otherwise he would of claimed I made it up, lol! Doctor said steady intake so keep going with the coke wouldn't want a sugar slump - purely for medical reasons :)

Jealous of everyone's nursery plans as I can't plan till we know what baby is, if a boy will move 2 youngest to bigger room and prob re do my jungle theme as I love it and looks fab and all stuff was new when we move in here in July! If it's a girl the boys will have the bigger room and baby will have the smaller not really a box as could fit 2 double beds plus wardrobe in easily I want girly and butterfly's and DH wants either hello kitty or princess! I like princess and can get butterfly's in but think hello kitty is more suited for 8 year olds?

So much to think of for such a tiny person! I havent bought a thing yet but will prob wait till after operation and scan to check everything's ok first as sexing scan is 27th Sept so will prob go straight to mothercare or next after that!

Has anyone used those things that you post nappies into before, as we never have and just wondering if they are any good?

sarahs999 · 06/09/2012 14:59

My blood pressure is always that low, sometimes lower. It's just the way I'm made. The important thing is if it's normal for you or not (same with pre-eclampsia - I had it ragingly but because it wasn't officially 'very high numbers' in their book they ignored it, even though the increase from my starting point was absolutely huge).

zoeymlucas · 06/09/2012 15:09

Normally I am about 120/80 I just checked my notes and last 3 have been around that mark

JoJoBella84 · 06/09/2012 15:12

zoey I agree with the 'Hello Kitty' being for older children! The nursery we've just decorated was bright pink with Hello Kitty curtains! I'm going with the neutral theme nursery, yellow walls and woodland theme. I'm getting the summer oak furniture set from Mothercare. Even though I hope to find out the gender at my 20 week scan!!

mandasand · 06/09/2012 15:30

Hello ladies - can't believe how much chat I've missed! Will try to catch up later but don't fancy my chances!

Been quite a big week - yesterday told my boss I'm preggers with twins and although it took about the first half of our hour-long conversation for the news to sink in he reacted really well, saying everything I needed him to say (the main thing being that he'll apply to our funding council to extend my contract rather than replace me during maternity leave - PHEW!). He kept saying how delighted he was for us, and phoned me again today to say it again! So I'm really, really relieved. Everybody important knows now ... so, it's real! Haven't done the big facebook announce yet. I'm saving that for after I've got my book to press as I sort of have a jokey way of linking them together.

Today I spent four hours at the hospital. I'm in the Silver Star (i.e. high risk) clinic, where I have a lovely new midwife and two really good consultants, one looking at my health and the other looking at the babies. Got to hear their heartbeats, which was great :-) Consultant 2 is going to write to the hospital where I had my uterine surgery 15yrs ago to find out what exactly happened. If it was a puncture then I will be having a c-section no question, as there's a big risk of the uterus tearing during normal delivery and that is, I'm told, Not A Good Thing. But good news is that previous uterine surgery in itself isn't dangerous for the babies during pregnancy, and the 12-inch scar on my abdomen won't split, I'm reassured!

Potassium is now just within normal range. They expect me to go underactive with thyroid (still borderline) but that can be medicated. And I'm nearly anaemic so need to take vit. D3. And I can revert to my old antihistimines (certirizine) for my urticaria which means I won't be so flippin' knackered all the time! Hooray!

Oh, except for the fact that yesterday I finished my day in London off with a trip to H&M on Regent Street. I had high hopes for their maternity dept, but it's absolutely crap! That said, I got some brilliant dark grey skinny cords with a lot of growing room for bump, but was hoping for cute dresses and nice tops - neither, pah! I'm sure I'll grow out of these cords soon but they are fab for now and it's nice to be out of the leggings!

Sorry for me me me post. Hope all the knitting and crocheting is going well!

StealthToddler · 06/09/2012 15:41

zoey do you mean the nappy bins for dirty nappies? If so yes and they are brilliant. Most of my friends have them. Stops smells getting out and when bag full just chuck it in the outside bin. We have a korbell which is great but I can only get the refills online which is a pain. Friends have the tommee tippee one which is also good.

Em2010 · 06/09/2012 15:43

Afternoon All,

manda really pleased to hear your boss reacted so well to your news!

zoey hope you're managing to get plenty of rest and feel better soon

stealth hope ds has a wonderful first day at school.

The wall stickers from jojo are lovely - you can get some of them (new) off eBay a bit cheaper so it's worth looking. I was so superstitious when I was of with ds, I hardly bought anything! This time it's so different though as we already have a house full of baby things and a loft full of newborn stuff! I've been buying things for this bump for a while and then just shoving them out of sight in the loft with the rest.

Well, good news ladies! I'm back from the farm and white jeans are (mostly) still white! Had a wonderful time and ds should sleep well tonight Grin

Em2010 · 06/09/2012 15:44

Ah yes, second what stealth said re nappy bins. We have the Angelcare one and it has been a godsend!

MrsRigby · 06/09/2012 15:51

Fuck it, I'm stopping by McDonalds on the way home for large fries.

tiddleypompom · 06/09/2012 16:19

Give us a frie rigby.

Great news manda.

I'm like you sarah - v low bp but usual for me so less concerns. The new nurse here did raise an eyebrow when she took the reading but one look at my notes & she wasn't worried. Tis cos I'm soooo chilled :o

Weekend approaching (ish) - any plans? Am still looking at holiday options for a few weeks time. Think we'll end up in the uk as we keep finding things to spend ££ on here (bugaboo donkey remains in the offing despite appalling price tag). Found a gorgeous B&B in snowdonia which would be stunning IF the weather is nice. Can we risk it...

P.s. thanks to whoever it was who recommended morocco a while back, so sorry I didn't acknowledge at the time. We went before DS was born and DH got so ill I think it put him off! Loved it though.

theTramp · 06/09/2012 16:28

Tiddles that was me - shame your OH got sick, it's a fab place.

Zoey - rest up, take your meds & enjoy being looked after for a bit

I'm shattered & have to hang about for a conf call, then home to head out & be hostess.. Argh! Why did I not think home & bed would be more fun?! Ah well, sure it'll be grand and MrM will have to wow everyone with his sparkling repartee to make up for my lack thereof.

So H&M not great. Good to know. I'm thinking of having a peak tomorrow & maybe popping to High St Ken to look at Seraphine.

tiddleypompom · 06/09/2012 16:34

Sorry tramp. Yes, fab place, fascinating & completely bonkers. The curtain between bed and bathroom at the road we were staying just wasn't thick enough in the end :o

(sorry for unsavoury image)

Good luck being 'with the mostess' this eve.

Gotta leave the new thread setting up to someone else I'm 'fraid. Am off to explore with DS in backpack & may not return before dusk (whereupon this thread will doubtlessly be filled). Onward Macduff (or something along those lines).

Yummy Macdonalds sounds amazing- you need a milkshake too rigby

Yes stealth that's exactly what I mean am glad someone understood my vague waffle, lol! Just never had one and with an 18 month old and newborn not liking the idea of running out to the outside bin for every nappy change as between them will be ALOT! Think I will look at one this time then :)

Glad you have had a fab news week manda

DoodleBugBee · 06/09/2012 18:00

Good grief - you've been busy ladies!

Zoey you're lucky you have been even prescribed ear drops for your ear infection - I have had a corker of an infection for 4 weeks now and the quack will only give me amoxicilin (sp?), hope yours improves soon, hearing in my left ear is like a distorted speaker - argh!

Tramp music therapy duly exercised - you're so right, worked a treat Smile

My rather smashing neighbour turned up this afternoon and offered to mow our lawn - I must have looked so frazzled earlier in the day! I was so grateful, our lawn isn't very big but it's the one job I do in the garden and I just haven't felt up to it - what a lovely man, and his 11 year old daughter came round and cut the edges. I made them tea and fed them cake. Restores your faith in people.

I ordered a pregnancy book from Amazon at the beginning of the week and haven't been able to open the box - just in case. Need to be brave and accept this is all very much happening...

Crochet - pah. No amount of useful youtube videos has got me past the casting on row. I'm resigned to not being a mum who crochets...!

Em2010 · 06/09/2012 18:53

Well white jeans may have stood up to the farm but I realt should have changed them before I cooked dinner and fed toddler....

doodle what a lovely neighbour you have!!!

I am so so so excited! Inspired by you lovely ladies I am signing myself up for a knitting workshop! I just need a rocking chair and a beautiful open fireplace (in sitting room with country cottage low beams etc) and the snow coming down on the fields outside to complete my vision. Unrealistic?!

sundaesundae · 06/09/2012 19:06

Em I want to sit in a rocking chair with snow on the fields and knit! My view is of fields, but I have neither a rocker or a fire, boo!

I am very excited about winter now!

Hubby and I have a week off for my birthday at the end of October, weds-weds, anyone think of a suitable break for a bumpy person at that time of year? I don't think I will feel like flying far, but will drive anywhere (I live in my car) and fly anywhere in UK/Europe.

Em2010 · 06/09/2012 19:16

Ooh sundae if you fancy sitting in someone else's rocker with an open fire then try the Rural Retreats cottages. I've stayed in a few, they are lovely! (would post a link but am on my phone!)
