Aaah TheTramp I love that song!
Morning ladies. Bright and sunny here but I have a terrible headache - been getting them a lot. Having a green tea and trying to pull myself together at work.

Sheldonella · 06/09/2012 09:39

Thanks tramp. DH says the same thing :) Love the sound of your outfit - I love coloured tights. I have berry coloured ones on today.
Lexi I have started getting headaches now too. Not bad ones, just annoying. I think we have this to look forward to all second trimester!
Something else on the tonic - I read that the first choice malaria treatment for pregnant women is quinine anyway so trace amounts should be safe.

Lexiindisguise · 06/09/2012 09:50

Sympathy, Sheldonella, it's horrid isn't it? Am also so breathless, going up two flights of stairs at work makes me practically unable to talk - feel so unfit but again, I understand this is normal for some people! Pregnancy is a weird old thing.

Em2010 · 06/09/2012 09:51

Aibu to wear white (maternity) jeans to take a toddler to the farm Grin ?! bit of a wardrobe crisis here and I need to leave or I'll be late!!

Chefette · 06/09/2012 10:14

Well they'll never be white again Em but I hear you get great washing Machine dyes these days.......... Wink

Chefette · 06/09/2012 10:16

Oh and by the way Envy at everyone's weather, it's very dark, grey, and rainy in Aberdeen and 7.5C on the car temp thus morning Angry !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

JoJoBella84 · 06/09/2012 10:16

Urgh ladies, after a whole week of no vomiting I've had two rough mornings and there is no milk in the fridge for a soothing cup of tea :( I don't want the nausea to last much longer. Especially if I'm having surgery... Vomming with stitches does not sound very pain free! Grrr.
On a more positive note I got out of bed at 6.30 to let the oh out for work and the first thing he said was 'wow, what a bump'!! I like that :)

sarahs999 · 06/09/2012 10:26

Hello everyone, hope we're all well today. 80 degrees it's supposed to be here today. I appear to have worn my jeans. Whoops. Still my legs are so pasty and hairy I wouldn't be getting them out today anyway. Shock

Woke at bloody 4am this morning, tossed and turned for a couple of hours and then got up to roast vegetables for tonight's veggie lasasgne. Burnt half of them. Sigh.

In good news, I received that ebay bundle that the nice seller had put some extra stuff in - it's fab! Wearing one of the white shirts today. SUch a difference from the other bundle. It had been freshly laundered, properly packed and the woman's taste was really good. The only thing was that she'd listed it as 10-12 in size, but most of it was 10, which I only am on a very good day and with the wind blowing in the right direction. Thankfully most of it was tops as size 10 bottoms would never fit, but the denim maternity 'mini' turned out to be fab and not mini at all - just above the knee - so will be staple wear this winter, I can see, with tights and boots. Also fab Seraphine shirts, a nice breton top, a black dress (very clingy and will only be wearing it when I have a proper obvious bump or I just look like a piggy pie eater) and a couple of other things. Happy bunny. Went through my wardrobe last night and got rid of the things that aren't going to fit me now for some time, and hung up all the new stuff in their place. Along with my two IO dresses I'm sorted except for thick cardis and a pair of jeans (normal jeans are still OK with a bumpband, for now).

Anyway sorry to go into forensic detail of my wardrobe. But happily it's all black, white and blue too, so perhaps a few jaunty scarves to add a bit of colour.

MRs R, I second everything thetramp said so eloquently. Rise above. Don't sweat the small stuff.

Re reactions, I've had a few funny ones, but I'm kind of braced for it because of my age and the big gap between DS and this one. Had a few disconcerted looks and 'oh'....., had a blatant 'how old are you?' which I thought was so rude I just said 'young enough to have a baby, thanks'; and the 'was it planned?' which I got this morning. I'm hoping that now I've told a mum at school the news will spread and people can get thier negative reactions out ofthe way and then present me with their best game face when they see me. That's the plan, anyway....

zoeymlucas · 06/09/2012 10:31

Well have finally taken a day off sick- haven't eaten or drank anything in 2 days well nothing stays down and feel like some has put knives in my ears then spun my head round on them! So going to doctors at 11.30 as I can't carry on like this and they wony operate next week if I am ill and I need it done- plus being violently sick as I am with internal stitches sounds painful!!!!!

Who is at gaga Sunday as I think I am going sat and Sunday - will be working one and watching one in the box they give my company- well that's if I am feeling better as right now getting dressed seems to much for me!

sundaesundae · 06/09/2012 10:43

I am going to GAGA on Sunday night, hubby bought us Unicorn Highway package tickets for our first wedding anniversary. Gulp, they were apparently bloody expensive and we have no idea what to do about parking as it seems tricky!

Sorry to hear you are so poorly, I am getting awful headaches (got one currently that feels like my scalp is compressing my brain) but nothing in comparrisson you poor poor thing. I hope you feel better!

peanutMD · 06/09/2012 11:00

Some one slap me now please!!

I am 14 Weeks today and in keeping with my no buying until late stages I have now bought a breast pump (£6.24), I'm going to view a Wilkinet carrier this week (£10) and came rediculously close to buying a Huggies newborn kit from Asda (£3)!

I have a funny feeling my resolve isn't going to last much longer... I already have a 6 year old so should really have learnt from last time Hmm:o

Sheldonella · 06/09/2012 11:03

peanut I would slap but I've been thinking about buying a moses basket I saw in the sale yesterday! I know it is too early but I can't resist a bargain so I completely see where you are coming from. I'm not even sure I want/need a moses basket!
So but slap me back please :)

JoJoBella84 · 06/09/2012 11:06

peanut and sheldon I've already bought a Moses basket and stand 2nd hand inc blankets £15) and a baby carrier (eBay £10) oh and painted the nursery. I am buying no more stuff until after surgery though as I don't want to jinx myself :s

Sheldonella · 06/09/2012 11:11

That's it, I'm going to look at it again on my lunch break. Jojo I've also started painting the nursery and have some cute wall stickers on order.

GummiberryJuice · 06/09/2012 11:27

GummiberryJuice · 06/09/2012 11:29

Vivee74 · 06/09/2012 11:45

Hi,

Hope everyone is having a nice sunny day.

Loving the chat about knitting/crochet. Have made booties, cardigans and rugs for everyone else since I was 10, so looking forward to making some for my Deliah (not out chosen name, just one to stir my religious brother when we tell him). Hope it's a girl as I already have three rugs and two cardigans I've made, but could never give away. Not got more bits on the go including a nursery rhyme cross stitch which I hope to finish.

Ordered some dressed from Isabella Oliver yesterday afternoon in their sale. They arrived at 7:20am this morning, look great but swim on me. Think for the next few months I will need a smaller size.

Have a good day and good luck to those with scans.

peanutMD · 06/09/2012 11:46

So glad its not just me!

I have a Moses basket in my lift FILLED with all my hand knitted cardigans and unisex babygro.s, vests and my lovely pram quilt and my Fisher price rocker/bouncer chair :o

OodHousekeeping · 06/09/2012 12:05

sarah how olds your DS? I've 9 years between dd2 and dd3.

sarahs999 · 06/09/2012 12:22

He's 7, soon 8, Ood. Did you get the same thing?

Lexiindisguise · 06/09/2012 12:25

Not just you guys - I bought a second hand quinny Buzz off a colleague; have wrapped it up in bin liners and put it in the loft! Also are being given a mamas & papas cot bed for free by a friend so that will also go in the loft. Just too good to pass up for superstition's sake!

I got a maternity tea dress from ASOS which swims so I grabbed a length of thick black ribbon to use as a belt; it looks OK now and should do me for a while I hope.

As for crochet, I am full of enthusiasm but as I only picked it up this week I think the poor Little Bean is going to have some wonky blankets and hats to use! Made with love though I guess :)

StealthToddler · 06/09/2012 12:44

Hi All
Big day and feeling very proud and very teary - DS1 started school this morning. He looked so grown up and yet so little! His little brothers came too and he ran to the bus very excitedly. Only looked a bit nervous when meeting his teacher properly, and then ran off to play. DS3 made a break for it to try to stay and play with the toy castle, but their nanny then had to take DS2 and DS3 off back to the bus to get DS2 to nursery for 9am and I had to scarper to work.
Also have finally told my team about this pg - don't think it went down well at all with the reaction one of open mouths and then "oh crap"...none had guessed which I was sure they had seeing as I have been a real shade of green for 3 months and absolutely exhausted.
Off to my scan this afternoon - any other scan buddies today? I quickly read through some of todays posts (but am at work so was very quick!!) and couldn't see anyone else???

Sheldonella · 06/09/2012 13:02

I went back for the moses basket but it was gone Sad. Oh well, my fault for not snapping it up yesterday.
Aww Stealth, I'm sure your DS will have a lovely day at school and can't wait to tell you all about it when he gets home :)

Sheldonella · 06/09/2012 13:03

Ooh, and good luck for the scan!

OodHousekeeping · 06/09/2012 13:04

stealth aww

sarah not really , there does seem to be a lot of bad reactions to pregnancies on here though.

All my reactions have been either ' I knew it' or ' knew you'd be next' , I don't seem able to surprise people!
