Good luck with the last few scans! Is that it after today? It kind of must be, I've got my 25 week appointment tomorrow, being one of the earliest in the month...

Bella, it sounds like stretching ligaments but if in doubt ring the midwife :)

Shock
JoJoB77 · 21/08/2012 08:53

I had that pain yesterday Bella although it wasnt constant, more upon walking. I guess it was stich from exerting myself too much.

Re leaking. Yes i can also admit to this Blush it happened later with DD but with this one it started much earlier. Sneezing & coughing definitely requires mindful clenching beforehand. I just try & keep up with the PF & hope it resolves itself after the birth.

Good luck for your scan today pmg

JoJoB77 · 21/08/2012 08:55

Wow how lovely of your MIL tooffer that kind of money purple Smile

itsMYNutella · 21/08/2012 08:56

Morning all.
So happy today is a bit cooler! Slept a bit better last night. Seem to have a habit at the moment of trying to lay on my stomach which means I'm leaning over awkwardly in my sleep and am really hurting my back :( but it's too hot for extra pillows... Hmm
Tried to get DP to feel baby kicking last night... But he claimed he couldn't feel it and he isn't very patient. Need to explain that baby (thank goodness) doesn't spend the whole day kicking my insides! Ho hum... Otherwise all good here.

Oh and Bella I get similar pain, and agree with Spotty, I usually put it down to stretching too.

itsMYNutella · 21/08/2012 08:59

Damn extra page didn't show up till after I posted... Damn! Congrats Pidj so lovely of your ILs to help you guys out! Hope there is little bit left for you to enjoy and have a little treat :)

SpottyTeacakes · 21/08/2012 09:03

Wow pidj how lovely of her, what a relief for you!

Nutella DP feels kicks in the evening when we are laying it bed, he just rests his hand on my stomach, a cold drink always helps too (dp can get a bit carried away with the poking Hmm )

I never do my PF Blush word of warning to those firs timers it's so, so weird when you've had the baby and for a few weeks days afterwards when you 'squeeze' you pf absolutely nothing happens it's the oddest feeling and can be embarrassing if you have wind, there's no stopping it!

PurplePidjin · 21/08/2012 09:23

I think she'd given up on him ever settling down, he's the eldest of three and BIL and SIL both have children!

Dp does the same as Spotty's, just cuddle up with a hand on the bump and he can feel the wriggles :) One of the random junk baby emails mentioned that baby's heartbeat might be audible to an ear on the bump, is there any truth in that? Is it worth a try? My placenta's at the back (is that anterior or posterior?)

Clarella · 21/08/2012 09:41

Morning all

Thanks for your kind words yesterday mydaydream, I'd written a reply then phone died :/ and lost it.

Good luck for scan pgm!

Wow amazing news pidg!

Stitch - quite a few of us have mentioned that on the right side - I seem to get it when walking quickly on hard surfaces eg in town. That's where I get sharp pains if I get up awkwardly so put it down to that.

Yes the leaking - went through a bit of a heavy discharge week last week and sometimes seems as if a little wee is stuck which then gets squeezed out when I walk about after going to the loo :/ trying to remember my pfes but also crap!

Stupid cankles.

Clarella · 21/08/2012 09:46

Starting to feel like this lovely lady :)

kate2boysandabump · 21/08/2012 10:07

Good luck pmgkt whatever you decide Smile

Clarella You're only starting to look like this? I'm there already! Don't have hooves though...

Bella ligament pain perhaps? There's so much stretching it's hard to tell.

Pidjin That's fantastic news! So which is it to be doing up your place or moving somewhere new? I'm joining you in dreaming of a beautifully decorated nursery. DH is pleased it doesn't need decorating, but seemed a little put out when I mentioned new curtains, surely he realises Daleks are not suitable for a newborn Hmm

I've been swimming this morning, I did 50 lengths and am now having to have a little rest Blush It feels lovely in the water though, you get a good reminder you're pregnant when it's time to get out and the weight comes back to your bump.

JoJoB77 · 21/08/2012 10:28

pidjin my DH could hear DD's heartbeat when he put his ear to my belly so it was true in my case Smile my placenta was posterior (at the back) last time too but is anterior this time so i doubt he will hear nothing but maybe the whooshing of the placenta.

We're packing to go to Cyprus tomoro for a week. I just checked the weather, its going to reach 40 degrees. Just hope i can cope with the heat, a toddler & a bump! Worse things to complain about tho Grin

SpottyTeacakes · 21/08/2012 10:31

Envy JoJo

SpottyTeacakes · 21/08/2012 10:32

Sorry Grin have a lovely time! Be careful in the heat too!

emilyeggs · 21/08/2012 10:45

Got back to sleep at about 7 in the end, woke up at 10 and now feel like I've come out of a come. I was thinking to call the police spotty but would have woken up DH, anyway I can't complain too much as I was no angel in my early 20's Hmm

How lovely purple Envy

itsMYNutella · 21/08/2012 10:46

Pidj & Spotty it was evening and I was laying down but DP kept moaning that he couldn't get comfortable... he is a massive winger sometimes!
And moaned that he couldnt feel anything. Ah well. He will one day.... Probably

Ah well. We have a week off together next week... Need to figure out what we want to do, at the moment we have nothing planned Hmm I've tried but DP is still a bit stressed I think.
Have a lovely time Jojo! It's been 35 ish here the last couple of days and I honestly thought I was going to melt!

Oh and a question about sleep suits for mothers in the know - a lot of the ones I've seen here (Starting at about 10? for 1 Shock) don't have buttons round the legs.... Now I would have thought that would be essential? The other options are a zip that goes down one side of the suit down to one foot... My concern is that this means almost totally undressing bubba in the night for every nappy change... Any opinions ideas welcome! At this rate it'll be bulk orders from the UK.

SpottyTeacakes · 21/08/2012 10:56

Oh Nutella they don't sound very practical at all. Next deliver to Germany free of charge apparently? Also saw a thread in 'living overseas' about good shops to order from, I'm sure you know more about it than my but I think even with a delivery charge (Mothercare £10) it will be cheaper than the ones you can get!

HoneyMum21 · 21/08/2012 11:06

oooh, off mumsnet for a day and so much to catch up on!

That's lovely of your MIL Pidj, that must be a lovely suprise.
Good luck for scan PMGKT

I'll second (or third, or fourth) H and M regular clothes - i've got some nice long stretchy tshirts and have my eye on a couple of long sleeved ones at about £8 each they're reasonable and wearable after too (if they get stretched they're nice pj tops!)

I chatter to bump a bit when i'm on my own and DH loves to talk to him. He's been reading him stories most nights since about 14-15 weeks. Mostly dr. seuss - there's research that suggests the rhythm of things like that are soothing and then when they're out they can recognise the rhythm and find it reassuring. There's a lovely one (available on amazon) called 'Oh baby, the places you'll go' - it's a reworking of the original 'places you'll go' specifically to be read in utero. It;s lovely. :)

Many things i've prob missed, sorry,

itsMYNutella · 21/08/2012 11:17

Thanks Spotty... I was wondering if I was being daft... But I ordered (couldn't resist) a London theme baby grow from Maman Jojo bebe and it was as expected with poppers down the front and round the legs. Made perfect sense. We went shopping yesterday (failed a bit really) to a large ish baby store here and I was Shock at the prices, and the total lack of multipacks Hmm and we only saw one or two sleeps suits with poppers round the legs. The rest seemed to undo down one leg or zip from the neck to one leg.
I'll search for other shops in the area and see what I find.

Honey those books sound very sweet. I'll have a mosy on over to amazon too later :)

itsMYNutella · 21/08/2012 11:20

They were like this but with zips

HoneyMum21 · 21/08/2012 11:24

Ooh Nutella - they look like a lot of hassle. Can someone in the uk do a big shop of cheap sleep suits for you and send them over?

SpottyTeacakes · 21/08/2012 11:55

Dd had a few like that and they were find when she was a bit bigger but lots of baby's hate getting dressed and nappy changes so I think it would make things worse for them.

2blessed · 21/08/2012 12:00

oooh! HoneyMoon have just had a look on Amazon, I have to get the book althought don't know whether to buy the in utero one or the original Confused. Was never a big Dr Seuss reader beyond cat in the hat, no particular reason. Me and DP both love reading so this will def be purchased. Thanks

HoneyMum21 · 21/08/2012 12:12

:) the in utero one obviously has limited use but it's had him kicking and it's really sweet - will go in his memory box after he's born :)

minipie · 21/08/2012 12:15

Nutella do you have M&S over there? They seem to do both kinds - the cheaper multipack sleepsuits have the poppers up both inside legs, whereas (bizarrely) the more expensive single ones have the one-sided thing like you describe. link

itsMYNutella · 21/08/2012 12:28

Thanks everyone! So glad I'm not just being weird about it!
mini sadly there is no :( M&S in Germany but totally agree how bizarre that the more expensive ones are the awkward ones!

Going to have to ring the small bro and his girlfriend. I know they'll get the job done Wink I also know girlfriends mum would be happy to help (she has experience, her other daughter lives in Oz and she has to send tampons etc regularly) right then. What will be my next lost in translation problem :o
