Shock I think it's a varicose vein Blush Sad

Bellaboo123 · 20/08/2012 19:45

spotty If it makes u feel any better I've developed a skin tag 'down there' sooo mortifying! Oh the joys of pregnancy!Wink

SpottyTeacakes · 20/08/2012 19:49

I'm going to have to get dp to check, hopefully he will be grateful as it's the closest he'll be getting for a while Wink

Bubbless · 20/08/2012 19:53

now you see, i have a 'pet' reindeer (soft toy!) that ive had for years, and il talk to him all the time so will my DP when he thinks im out of earshot.. so why am i being weird about talking to a human inside me?!

spotty yeah, i think DP felt a bit like that after having to shave me, bless them!

i want to try and involve dp a bit more in the whole 'preg' thing, but not sure how? he comes to all the appts he can, been to both scans, feels bump move but.. i feel kinda sorry for him :(
he said the other day hes finding it hard to be excited because he doesnt ..know things?! ive been forwarding him the mn roundup and he likes it, and all of the shitty very helpful crap informative emails from the baby clubs at boots etc saying whats happening / whats growing in that week but.. anything more i can do?!

emilyeggs · 20/08/2012 20:38

I don't talk to my bump much, only when DH has pissed me off as bump is the only one around to listen to my side (and bump always see's my point and agrees Grin ). I'm glad all questions are open for discussion with us, before I found this thread I asked if when you have a water birth you deliver the placenta in the pool as I was worried it would fall out when I stood up (what with just being stretched open to deliver baby) Blush

ISpyPlumPie · 20/08/2012 20:59

Blackcurrents - that's really interesting. The reason I want to try hypnobirthing this time is because, although the active part of labour with DS was overwhelmingly positive, I didn't handle the earlier stage as well. This was largely due to being told that the whole 0-6 cm stage was "just prostin pains" (had been induced as DS was overdue so I got myself in a right state thinking if I can't manage this how will I cope when labour really starts? If I'd have known I was actually in labour I think it would have helped, and the rest of the birth was fine on TENS/G&A but it's great to hear that hyponbirthing helped you with the exact bit I'm dreading most!

I've got the natal hypnotherapy cds which seem good so far, but just wondering if I really should be doing the classes as well. I'd ruled it out due to cost but starting to think it could be money well spent. Has anyone just used the cds then gone on to find it really effective in labour?

Came in from work and had my customary nap and now I'm ready for the night shift...
bubbles I do admin, v boring. Took ages for me to decide when to go on leave, work really shitty at the mo so desperate to go but went back to wanting more time with LO.what do you do? What are your thoughts in terms of starting leave?
queen I had my first leak last week, occupational hazard...

WillYouDoTheFandango · 20/08/2012 22:04

Evening all! I'm not a bump chatter yet, I do tell him off though for kicking me too hard!

Feeling a bit weird today - low back pain, vomiting and nausea. Hopefully I can sleep it off tonight. Cardiology appt in the morning Confused

Cookiesandcream06 · 20/08/2012 22:10

Just a quick one queen yes to the leaks. It's not even a recent thing, it happened weeks ago !! And does now and again. You are not alone.
No don't talk to bump- didnt with DD either, I just feel weird! Plus I talk enough anyway so surely she's used to my voice by now?!? DD says hello to her and asks her if she's swimming etc!

pmgkt · 20/08/2012 22:35

Ok I have my scan in the morning and still can't decide whether to find out the sex or not

whatmess · 20/08/2012 22:40

Queen This was something I was going to bring up at my next appt. I never leaked with my first but for weeks now I have had this problem. It started when I was throwing up, imagine the horror of kneeling on the floor to throw up 4/5 a day and then leaking with each heave but not being able to move. I got to the point where if I felt slightly sick, I would have a wee first. I suspect I am not actually emptying my bladder when I go although I feel like I have. That would explain why I am back in the loo 5 to 10 mins after having just been.

So no solution yet, but you are def not alone.

whatmess · 20/08/2012 22:42

pmgkt get them to write it down and put it in a sealed envelope for you. That way you can make up your mind in your own time.

emilyeggs · 20/08/2012 23:23

Good luck pmg for your scan

emilyeggs · 21/08/2012 04:53

Stupid drunk cow down the road woke me up at 3:40 banging and kicking her front door trying to get in Angry. Obviously not working as no one has let her in and now I'm wide awake grrrr!

SpottyTeacakes · 21/08/2012 06:07

pmgkt good luck on the scan! Have you decided yet? What does your dh think?

MyDaydream · 21/08/2012 06:21

pmgkt good luck with the scan.
I got woken up by DP making a weird noise and couldn't get back to sleep because I have heartburn.
DP felt baby for the first time last night, although looked very unimpressed. When I spoke to him he said he didn't even think how big it was until he thought about it later and realised that he was feeling "a new human life growing inside me". Makes me wonder what he thought pregnancy was before that.

SpottyTeacakes · 21/08/2012 06:40

We all got woken up by someone's old banger in which the fan belt is going. So inconsiderate at six in the morning! You should have called the police emily!

Walnut8 · 21/08/2012 07:01

re hypnobirthing, maybe you do need to do the classes too - I used the CDs only together with preg yoga classes which talks about many of the same things, and found it pretty unhelpful when it came to the crunch. However, I guess you have to bear in mind that I was induced and as soon as my waters were broken I had contractions every 45 seconds, so I didn't have much time to get into the zone.

Leakage = yes. Didn't happen until much later with my first, but happening now whenever I sneeze. Keep doing your PF exercises and it will revert to normal afterwards. Personally if my DH had an issue with it, I'd remind him I'm growing a person inside of me FFS.

Shaving down there by myself - tried it two weeks ago and cut myself. Have resolved to go to a professional from now on ... but perhaps not until birth imminent?!!!

I miss H&M!!!!

Walnut8 · 21/08/2012 07:03

And good luck with scan pmgkt!

Cookiesandcream06 · 21/08/2012 07:26

Good luck at your scan Pmgkt good idea about putting it in an envelope. Are you any closer to deciding?
I can't remember the last night I had a good sleep Sad

knottyhair · 21/08/2012 07:30

Good luck for the scan pmgkt! Willyou, hope you feel better today and your appt goes well. Sorry to those of you with crap night's sleep Sad.

pmgkt · 21/08/2012 08:12

Dh wants to know. I don't cos I really want another boy and am not sure how to feel about a girl, but know if I didn't know then a girl arriving as a surprise will be lovely too. I already have 2 dsd's and just think it will be nice for ds1 to have a brother as well as his sisters. I also know I'm being silly.

Bellaboo123 · 21/08/2012 08:26

Morning,
I'm got a constant sharp stabbing pain down the right side of my bump, kind of like a stitch. Uncomfortable but not agony...what do u think it is? Or what should I do?

SpottyTeacakes · 21/08/2012 08:45

Bella I get this sometimes, I just put it down to stretching/pad position/braxton hicks

NaomiRuth · 21/08/2012 08:48

pmgkt good luck for the scan and whatever you decide. It's lovely seeing the little one again!

Feeling guilty for not doing PF exercises enough. Have downloaded app to remind me. Did pregnancy yoga DVD last night (Tara Lee) and slept deeper than I have in ages, no waking up! Amazing, hope it wasn't a one off.
