Oh knotty Blush I should read before I send! Silly iPhone!

MyDaydream · 06/09/2012 14:42

spotty hope your okay and it's just your nail you hurt (I assume nail rather than tail broken here).
After my worry about baby not moving around much the last few weeks he's not stopped today! Lots of big kicks up at the top of my tummy so feeling very happy.

WeeJo08 · 06/09/2012 14:57

For those of you who are as obsessed as me interested about baby's kicks Blush, I got a cool little app yesterday on my phone which has a kick counter. You can also put other bits and bobs on the app like your appointments, photos, etc. I don't know if Mumsnet maybe doesn't allow me to post it though? Let me know if you guys want the name of it and I will happily provide it :) Obviously I am not on commission or anything - though I wish I was!

SpottyTeacakes · 06/09/2012 15:28

My boss called me a baby because I couldn't open my can of coke ffs Angry I'd like to see how he'd cope if he had muscle wastage in his hands.

WeeJo08 · 06/09/2012 15:36

Spotty What about going away and shaking it vigorously, then going back and asking him to open it for you?? Grin

SpottyTeacakes · 06/09/2012 15:40

I should have done that! Never mind nearly home time!

itsMYNutella · 06/09/2012 16:15

emma I can understand the anxiety you probably feel. Have you got a doppler so that you can hear baby's heartbeat? If you really feel worried it might help! But Of course kicking away I'm sure means baby is fine!

I often get a kick in the bottom of the stomach when I lean forward (onto a table or to talk to someone) and I worry that I'm squashing the baby and it's telling me not to restrict it's play space :o

Clarella · 06/09/2012 16:18

Ah, I've just picked up the seuss in utero book honeymum recommended - very cute! I also got off eBay an amazing cookery book for whole family but mainly to get veg etc into kids but still please dad's appetite which I fell in love with at a friend's house called 'Hungry' - I've been particularly tickled by the 'wee-ometer' with a colour chart ranging from 'a night out with Keith Richards,' 'office party,' 'beetroot surprise' 'wee nirvana' and 'i can pee clearly now'. We're aiming for wee nirvana apparently.Grin

Hope nail and frustration ok spotty

EggsMichelle · 06/09/2012 16:23

WeeJo what's the app? I love playing with apps, I'm a bit of a app-a-holic!!!

itsMYNutella · 06/09/2012 16:35

Ladies, I'm off to a wedding next weekend and need a dress to wear. Can I please have your opinions?
I like either this blue dress or this black dress... and I think the black dress might look good with this belt

I wouldn't normally wear black to a wedding but I think I might get more wear out of the black dress... what do you all think??

SpottyTeacakes · 06/09/2012 16:39

Go for the black one Smile with the belt and matching jewellery

Clarella · 06/09/2012 17:06

Oooh yes black looks lovely. I never have any probs wearing black at a wedding, I always think you can have more fun with the silhouette in black (which that one will be) and can always be accessorised up or down and worn later with leggings etc :)

MyDaydream · 06/09/2012 17:48

I vote for black too, it'll get more chances to be worn over the next few months than the blue.
I just went to the bus stop without my purse. Waited 10 minutes for it to arrive and not once checked I had it. Knew I was missing something when I left home.

SecretCermonials · 06/09/2012 17:50

Hello... Can I join you?Blush Im pg with DS2, due 5/1/13 but I'm electing so will be born in Dec

SpottyTeacakes · 06/09/2012 17:56

Oh no Daydream did you get where you're going?

Welcome Secret do you know what you're having? Have you got a date for your cs yet?

SpottyTeacakes · 06/09/2012 17:56

Oops dS2 I see Blush

Secondsop · 06/09/2012 18:03

Welcome secretceremonials . nutella I like the black dress - I do think all bets are off for wedding dressing "rules" when you're pregnant because it's that much harder to find something that fits and that is smart, so I think a black dress is entirely acceptable and that one is very glamorous.

SecretCermonials · 06/09/2012 18:25

Thanks spotty and second Grin, yes were were told a boy at 18 weeks and then again at scan on tues 22+3 so hoping its right as ive washed everything haha Grin
Will find out ELCS date 26th november, but had GD with DS1, so if that develops (was clear at 18 weeks get retested at 28) will be close to 38weeks (worrying as thats very near xmas!!) if not its likely to be 39 ish weeks, or the third option is if GD develops but is held under better control, it will be between 38-39.

When are you all due? Are you on firsts or seconds? Sorry im totally rehashing and nosey

WeeJo08 · 06/09/2012 18:26

Nutella I really like the blue one, but I reckon the black one will get more wear so probably best to go for that one or buy both Grin I really like Seraphine dresses - I picked one up in their sale last week for £19 and it is my favourite dress now :) It's this one: www.seraphine.com/ruched-sleeve-jersey-dress-mocha.html

Eggs It's BabyBump Pro - I am quite addicted to it now! Think it's £2.49. There is also a free one but it doesn't have the kick counter as far as I could see.

Welcome Secret!

Clarella I laughed out loud at 'I can pee clearly now'! Grin

Heading to my first pregnancy yoga class tonight - actually really looking forward to it :)

SpottyTeacakes · 06/09/2012 18:32

secret there's a December stats list in the antenatal board, I can't link as I'm on my phone. I'm diabetic so feel your pain re GD hopefully you won't get it this time Smile

sorry i cant reply to everyone individually!!

havent felt baby kick at all today?
can anyone else only feel baby when they are sat down? :(

itsMYNutella · 06/09/2012 18:46

Thank you ladies!! I will be ordering the black one :)
also thank you weejo for the comment about their quality :) I might get that taupe dress too... hoping 16 isn't too big (it's the only size left on the website). They also have some violet tights on the website so I'm going to order a pair of those and see if they go with the belt. I'll try and remember to post a pic when I get dressed up for the wedding. The bride is a tiny slip of a thing and I got to see her try on her wedding dress for the final fit today, it was stunning!!

Oh and I have seriously considered buying both... I'll order the black tonight and sleep on it re: buying both :o

Also I know her wedding is going to be a very chic affair so I want to look my best :o

Welcome Secret and congrats on your boy! Fingers crossed for no GD. I had to have the sugar test on Monday...
...and now I realise I've forgotten to ring for the result ah well. Will ring in the morning. The drink they made me have was disgusting! And this nurse has given me a bruise from the needle :( think she jabbed a bit when changing vials... owie!

SecretCermonials · 06/09/2012 18:56

NaomiRuth · 06/09/2012 19:06

Hi everyone, just catching up with the chatter. Went to Norfolk for a few days last week, a lovely rest. We are moving house tomorrow! Can't wait to settle into our family house, no more renting!!

Congratulations to the other person who's moved house too.

HoneyMum21 · 06/09/2012 19:33

Hi all, sorry i've been MIA a bit over the past couple of weeks. Have internet back properly tomorrow :) so will be able to keep up! Just a quick question/comment about DHs - we've just moved and i'm going through trying to sort everything out and am finding loads of empty boxes from things like toaster and iron that we had at the old place. Why has DH brought empty old appliance boxes? I don't understand.
