kate 40 lengths is still a good effort, I did mine yesterday but had been doing a bit more previously. Have yo found it helpful?

I would do overtime but 1). Not much around 2). Literally impossible with childcare 3). I'm starting mat leave in 2 months and they didn't tell me the cut off date?
Also, to add to my rant, work underpaid me last month and took off an extra day for sickness, which doesn't help. And I'm having to take my physio appointment as unpaid next week so that's another £13 gone! Angry

Cookiesandcream06 · 05/09/2012 17:43

great Topshop do 120 denier ones in s/m
And m/l I think they're £10?
I am not bothering with a maternity coat it seems too much of a waste of money, I intend on laying and keeping my coat open (if it still fits over my fat flabby arms!)

Hello all, thanks for all your kind words and good wishes about my hospital visit. Have spent the day in bed at home with the cat and feel ok but I do get so despondent when I don't really feel well enough to be up and about. I was like this for a month at the start of the pregnancy with extreme nausea and I was hoping those days were over. I've also gone off my food again - nothing appeals and I can't face cooking. My husband is going away for 3 weeks soon and I am not sure how I will manage; my mum and sisters will take turns at the weekends to visit me but I'm dreading coming home to the empty house (apart from the cat of course) after work. And my husband has been so great doing the laundry, bins, dishwasher, litter tray, going out to get me food, while I've been feeling exhausted and under the weather.

SpottyTeacakes · 05/09/2012 17:54

I've got bugs!! In all my flour and sugar Sad so now I have to buy all new stuff and throw my cake away Sad

Secondsop · 05/09/2012 18:04

Gaah spotty I had them in my cereals too! The only things they didn't get into were ones that were fastened with those Lakeland plastic clips.

gilsbubbles · 05/09/2012 18:06

mydaydream after much searching I found a decent coat that will see me through the next few months. Waterproof with a removable fleece but most importantly plenty of room for bump.

Cookies I was thinking that but I don't think my coat will handle layers very well, I was a lot thinner when I bought it even if I took pregnancy out of it. I'm thinking maybe something big and baggy from Primark.

Seconds do you have friends you can invite round for the evening or go see people to keep busy. Sorry your suffering so much.
Spotty oh no, although at least you won't be tempted to eat it now!

SpottyTeacakes · 05/09/2012 18:12

Oh I like that gils

Stupid weevils! Do you think I should chuck out my open pack of pasta? What about my baking powder and all my cake decorating bits in the pots?

MyDaydream I've just gone for a big hoody from Primark, if it's really cold I'll put one of DP's zip ups over the top (not that they will do up!) but I can't afford to buy a maternity coat, I keep looking on eBay but no luck!

MyDaydream · 05/09/2012 18:23

Spotty I'd pull everything out of the cupboards for a really good clean and just check everything over as you put it back in. If it looked contaminated or only had a really small amount left I'd chuck it but if it looked fine I'd leave it, but keep an eye on everything for the next week or so to make sure nothing was hiding at the bottom, and give it another check before you use it. I wouldn't bother with pasta, but might be tempted to rinse before and after cooking with boiling water to make sure there's nothing on it.

My DP is such a skinny minnie that nothing of his fits!

SpottyTeacakes · 05/09/2012 18:24

We only cleared out/cleaned the cupboard on Sunday! Didn't open anything though. I feel like a can't be bothered with the cake now

Secondsop · 05/09/2012 18:25

Hi mydaydream, y I'm trying to arrange some friend visits also. I do like the onset of autumn so perhaps I can turn it into a positive by getting into a cosy routine of home, food that my husband wouldn't normally want such as curry, trashy tv, sofa and blanky, candles ,so that my return home in the evening has as much sensory pleasure as possible rather than feeling sorry for myself.

spotty, are they really called weevils? That's what my husband called them but I thought it was something he made up! How do they get into an upper cupboard, that's what I want to know :(

SpottyTeacakes · 05/09/2012 18:26

I think it's a generic term for tiny bugs?!

Secondsop · 05/09/2012 18:28

Is it! I'd never heard it before he said it. Mine looked like fleas :(

Clarella · 05/09/2012 18:48

Great - I'm primary sen so no help there, but I found some great maternity tights in h and m, thick grey cable ones.

Second, I can understand your apprehension. Are there any other friends you can schedule in to help? I spent Xmas with a pregnant friend whos DH was on call once. Keep checking in here :)

Oh dear bubbless I know exactly what its like esp in Sept. They do have a duty of care for you and your baby remember.

Spotty, I hate bugs in flour, so inconsiderate to procreate in precious cake ingredients! - pasta prob ok, id only chuck the stuff that definately has bugs (says the lady who went ballistic over disintegrated rubber). A small part of me would still eat that cake though.... extra protein?!

40 Kate?! Not managed that since 10 weeks!

Thanks for making me feel iabr (??!), i developed a terrible anxiety earlier on in pregnancy which hasn't abated about my body (thyroid) 'hurting' baby, slapped cheek carry on and lots of confusion about both. I'll quite happily eat runny eggs, parma ham, cut the mould off cheese, live in a building site for 6 months but occasionally an ocd button goes off in my head about random bio/chemical stuff that I can't control. Building dust and builders we cannot control! But at the end of the day, worse things can happen so i feel a bit unreasonable!

SpottyTeacakes · 05/09/2012 18:56

I was tempted to eat the cake! DP said he will make another one with me tomorrow night though, and it's an easy one just bung all ingredients in and mix!

Clarella · 05/09/2012 19:03

Oops cross post.

I think basically the eggs/ beetles kind of get spread in warehouses etc so theres always potential for them to pop up. Just keep an eye on the stuff in the cupboard for a while. Most beetles can fly too so don't know if that's another way they spread.

kate2boysandabump · 05/09/2012 20:34

Daydream It took me ages to learn to drive, I started when I was 17, then again when I was 22, then again when I was pregnant with ds1, but didn't manage to pass before he was born, then I started again after I had ds1 and managed to pass. All told it took me nearly 10 years Blush Good luck, I hope you manage it before your bump comes, you'll have to keep it updated.

Cookies The swimming has really helped, I'm sure it's helped to keep my pelvic joints in place. I was an absolute mess by this time with ds2, but this time I'm hanging in there.

Spotty Shock Never heard of that before, your poor cake Sad

Second Sorry you're not feeling so good.

I'm not bothering with a maternity coat. My winter coat is a trapeze shape, so it should stay done up. I'm not expecting to be that cold though, baby's are good heaters and I've got a really big umbrella. May have to borrow a waterproof from dh if it gets really cold.

I second the lovely cable knit tights from H&M and they're cotton too, much comfier.

I need to rant Angry My bunk beds which I ordered in July were supposed to come tomorrow between 10 and 2, perfect for the school run. All good, but no, today I get a text at 6:30 saying 'delivery is confirmed for between 2 and 4' !!!!! What!!!!! I was furious, so I phone and they left me on hold for 30 minutes and then said they couldn't change anything, but they'd try and get there before 3:15. I'm just so cross because ds1 has an OT appointment at 4 that I can't change, who can rearrange anything when you get less than a day's notice? And breathe.......... Thankfully my Dad is able to help out, but I feel bad for asking him as he has to take my mom to physio tomorrow and I know he needs a rest afterwards. I really hope they come in time.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 05/09/2012 20:55

bubbless I would put it on a necklace but necklaces have been annoying me too lol ah well I'll stop bring silly about it.

clarella that sounds awful I'd be pretty furious and I'm a slattern!

Kids went back to school today and had a great day thankfully. I've arranged for dd's teacher to release her without me being there so she can walk round to ds's classroom and meet me. Saves me walking so far Grin

mwahmwah · 05/09/2012 21:14

Weevils euch :( I'd still eat the cake, they're so tiny u'd not even taste them Grin... Proud mummy moment... Ds (who's 2 this month and is being tested for chromosome problems due to his lack of speech and walking) took his first steps unaided today! Appeared round the bathroom door on two legs, with the biggest grin on his wee face! I am literally bursting with excitement. Moments that make being a mummy worthwhile.

SpottyTeacakes · 05/09/2012 21:15

Oh mwah that's so exciting!! Well done to your ds!

Secondsop · 05/09/2012 22:36

Great news mwah!

WeeJo08 · 05/09/2012 23:19

Fab news mwah! And congrats to the newly mobile minimwah! Grin

WeeJo08 · 05/09/2012 23:21

PS I'd definitely still eat the cake Spotty Grin and a little bit Blush

Clarella · 05/09/2012 23:23

Oh mwah, that's wonderful! Am sure I've said before, my niece didn't walk till just gone two, just got distinction in her ballet exam, aged 7. You must be so delighted!

Id eat any cake right now, beetles or no. Funny what falls into acceptable ediblity. Beetles good, weird ancient crumbled decor bad.

Second swimming for keeping supple, was going to go till 'underlay-gate.' Priority for tomorrow at some point :)

PurplePidjin · 05/09/2012 23:47

Mwah, that's fab :o

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh am i being unreasonable or irrational? Dp has 2 jobs, got home from evening one at 11. I was asleep, had been for about an hour. We both have trouble sleeping, so it's a fairly precious commodity at the moment and I've been trying really hard to be quiet and not disturb him.

So, he comes in, light on, laptop on (with jingle, in my ear), yanks the covers away that I'm snuggled up to... And is now downstairs in a strop because i woke up and cried and shouted. Waking up having triggered a bout of heartburn so i had to take evil gaviscon.

Am i being unreasonable or irrational or am i completely justified? I'm now trying round 2 of getting to sleep, have hot milk but really just want a cuddle Sad

I was doing so well, this is my first emotional outburst in front of/at anyone!
