It's Wednesday! Happy Hump Day everyone! Lovely and sunny here today again.

Clarella I happened to see that about the November thread as well - I haven't gone in to look at it yet...don't want to get scared! Are the Mums and babies who were early okay?

Elliebelle I am having acupuncture for some back pain but not SPD...so not sure if you mean me or someone else...? So far I haven't felt a difference but I have only had one session so I need to give it a chance to work I guess!

Seconds Glad you and Mini Seconds are okay - just take care of yourself today.

Spotty Glad the scan went well...any more pics?

Got my work to fix the cable on my monitor so that I can raise the screen up as I don't think it was helping that I was looking down at it - also got them to order my footrest today too Grin Should arrive next week.

We are planning on going on a babymoon at the beginning of November...thinking of the Cotswolds as we've never been. Does anyone have any recommendations of where to stay? Think probably we'd prefer a hotel as there's more chance of it having a pool (I plan to spend most of my time floating!)

SpottyTeacakes · 05/09/2012 12:47

Sooo bp was 98/50. Baby is estimated 1lb 7oz Grin still has a fat tummy!

Had a plus of protein in my wee so they've sent a sample off and I might need antibiotics obviously a bit of a worry after the pre-eclampsia last time but just wait for the results I suppose Smile

SpottyTeacakes · 05/09/2012 12:48

Oh and no didn't get any more pics they only give them at 12 & 20 weeks but she did a nice close up on the screen of his face

PrunellaDeVille · 05/09/2012 13:13

weejo early babies on the november thread were twins and all doing well - spent too long checking that one out a few days ago Blush
...and do come to the cotswolds it's lovely here but where to go really depends on your budget, there are some splendid hotels but the best ones are extortionate.

FriendofDorothy · 05/09/2012 13:32

I scared myself shitless that I realised I had reached 25 weeks which is when my little cousin was born weighing 1lb 110z. She is now a fit and healthy 22 year old!

knottyhair · 05/09/2012 14:00

Just had horrendous attack of heartburn whilst shopping in Waitrose. Had to glug Gavison straight from the bottle as soon as I'd paid the cashier Blush.

Clarella · 05/09/2012 14:15

Sobbing quietly on my sofa waiting for DH to come back, such a wimp - I was having a nap and the electrician went in what will eventually be nursery but currently store room (chuck it in) and also all my work papers, art work, books pram etc, piled everything up even more than already was , yanked up the carpet and ancient lino layers and the most awful ancient underlay which disintegrated into dust when you touch it so all stuff covered in the horrid fine I don't know what's in it dust and all my stuff, including the pram I can't believe they didn't ask/ tell us nor even put a dust sheet down. Just feel utterly ocd about that weird dust and at end of my tether its just everywhere but I'm going to have to clean it off all my things but I don't know what is in it. I've been worried enough about all the plaster and mdf dust but upstairs was out of bounds for the builders so felt safe, though total chaos with stuff piled everywhere. Desperately trying not to have a melt down but I just want to howl but the men are everywhere :( probably just hormones. can't leave without having to see them.

Had to rant to stop a howl.

It's just all in the carry cot :( so sad.

Clarella · 05/09/2012 14:21

Sorry.

Glad things are ok with you spotty and seconds x

minipie · 05/09/2012 14:30

Oh clarella Sad that sounds utterly poo and depressing, feel free to wail and rant. I had brick dust all over the house recently when builders knocked a hole in the wall and didn't even bother to shut any of the bedroom doors Angry so I know how miserable it is. I am sure once you have got it cleaned up it will be fine though, just a real pain to have to do that. Can you take things out into the garden or hold them out of the window and shake the dust out?

EggsMichelle · 05/09/2012 15:08

Ask them for one of their masks, at least then you are protected and Hoover EVERYTHING. My dyson is my best friend when ever dad and DH decide to dismantle my house!

itsMYNutella · 05/09/2012 15:24

Has anyone seen my motivation? I thought I left it under a sofa cushion but when I checked it wasn't there... But I'm still mooching on the sofa... Need to get in the kitchen and get tidying... Got people coming for dinner...

WeeJo08 · 05/09/2012 15:40

Woop! Grin Spoke to the doctor on the phone this morning and she is happy to write me my Fit to Fly letter for our holiday in 2 weeks. She just asked me some questions about how my pregnancy has been, etc and said she would write the letter next week and I could just pick it up. Happy :)

Mind you, the shine was taken off it somewhat as a stupid arse colleague asked if I was "nearly there" and when I said I was due in December he said I was "enormous". I just stared at him and then said "Nope, measuring perfectly for dates actually" Told hubby about it and he called him all sorted of names...which was obviously very immature but it made me feel lots better Grin Then hubby Skyped me later and said he had bought a wee something for the baby...don't know what is but I'm excited to find out later :)

Clarella I would be really cross about that too :( Scream into a pillow? Better than screaming at them which is probably what I would do

Nutella Maybe you'll find my motivation when you find yours....

Bubbless · 05/09/2012 15:45

clarella thankfully, on the other hand, all of the teachers have been really nice and supportive! was kinda worried as they all taught me when i was in school!
trouble is, if something isnt done in time in the kitchen we will have 900 hungry kids, 150 hungry teachers, and it will all fall to me.. so as much as id love to just go and sit down- i cant because it leaves us short staffed in the kitchen as shes fart arsing about!

have a brownie and some of the other things people have to offer, sounds horrific, tbh! i dont think your over-reacting.. WHY was the builder in the room that was out of bounds ripping up carpet?! i think this is the main question (unless ive misread it!)

eggs ive had a lot of 'oh should you be carrying that?' i reply with 'probably not,but noone else offered...'

spotty this stupid lady is finishing on 1st nov, so not too long to put up with her for, it will be okay once shes gone!!
oh, and i also thought you had ordered some kind of DIY steriliser!!

pmgkt that would be lovley, but if you mapped us all im in a big empty area! i have already looked at where everyone else is, i may as well be living in australia Hmm

laura i think the 4D scan sounds good, but only if you can afford it.. if not.. the baby wont know it hasent been viewed in 4d?!

nutella im going to go with my instincts as much as i can, if they are changing the 'rules' so often they clearly have no idea whats going on either!!

second so glad your better, didnt want to worry you so kept out of it but my mums friend had a stroke in her pregnancy, she is all fine + her baby is totally fine, but still... worrying :( glad your okay! [hugs]

stacey ive got my promise ring on my necklace i always wear, maybe an idea for your wedding ring? keeps it near..

sorry! hold the phone! i can eat stilton now?!?! i

Cookiesandcream06 · 05/09/2012 16:12

clarella would be equally as annoyed!
Glad went well spotty
bubbless sounds like a rubbish start back at work for you .. Look after yourself please! And I know what you mean, I got such stares in the playground today for being by far the youngest mum there, no one spoke to me, everyone was really 'mumsy mum' and I looked too out of place Confused

Right.. I have a rant/question coming on..

Realised today that I don't qualify for Mat pay through work. Apparently cut off is £107 a week, and I literally earn £105 or something ridiculous. I know you can still claim MA but this just seems so much more effort and I'll miss the 6 weeks full pay -right over Christmas as well when obviously I'll really need it. It makes me feel like theres no point in even working, as apparently if you don't work you get the full £136 and I won't Sad DP is on a pretty low income and I'm having a money panic as my income is going to be so low Sad

Is anyone else is a similar situation ?! Last time I worked full time and it was all so simple.. It didn't cross my mind it would be so complicated.. Phoned my personell and payroll and both were hopeless/useless utterly crap

Cookiesandcream06 · 05/09/2012 16:14

Oh and bubbless I've been struggling at work this week on my feet and it's just a busy shop never mind a kitchen. Take my hat off to you. I've given my mat leave date as the 4th Nov.. Now just a count down! remember you can always go earlier if it's going hard.. Just need 28 days notice

Cookiesandcream06 · 05/09/2012 16:16

Ahh didn't mean to send..
Swaddling- I watched Midwives and just thought why on earth has they put her in that stupidly warm hat inside?! And she was literally mummified in that swaddle! I would still do it (with a thinner blanket and no hat also!) but not even the midwives could do it so DD1 couldn't escape from it- such a wigglebum!! (still is!)

SpottyTeacakes · 05/09/2012 16:31

Cookies I only just earn enough to get SMP. MA will be the same as if you did qualify for SMP. You will get 90% of your earnings for 39 weeks, that's what I'll get as my weekly earnings are less than the £135 SMP. I hope that makes sense Confused

SpottyTeacakes · 05/09/2012 16:47

I just made a cake, the easiest, yummiest sponge cake. Got to wait until Friday to eat it as it's for a colleagues birthday. I couldn't even lick the spoon!

Clarella · 05/09/2012 16:51

Thanks, sorry, sorry, sorry, calmer now, not before taking that to quite a different level indeed of which I am now trying to see the funny side - of needing the loo but refusing to go back up stairs (men all over landing) so DH suggesting a coffee shop but me hyperventilating (about the dust) while trying to walk there and not wee. So we went back to brave the loo (better than weeing myself) then DH has just driven me about whilst I've bawled/hyperventilated about molecules of ancient 70s chemically underlay and lino getting into baby's delicate lungs from the carry cot. Previous owners into layering ancient decor.

Actually DH pointed out most people would have gone ballistic, irrespective of a random OCD attack, as we had no idea they needed access there and they didn't ask me. I just always think I'm the one being unreasonable! I just didn't want to make a scene cos they're all actually finally trying to get finished, and the electrician is really young. (so wouldn't get pregnant madness) I think we've buggered the dyson with plaster dust etc but I'm going to get new filters etc and nuke the pram before nuking everywhere else when I can.

I've been reminding myself I like mud and I can wash everything within an inch of its life (once we've been plumbed) Im just trying to get out of this depression/anxiety thing and just want to be on my own at home now, no random men and the knowledge that its ok forget to hide the pile cream in the bathroom.

Just sitting in a car park now waiting till 5 to go back to house Blush

Ffs, the pram is second hand anyway, god knows what's been on it! Febreeze, at the least!

Just realised underlay is probably rubber based, which goes dry, crumbly and hard anyway. And is sort of natural. [double Blush ]

Was that an aibu attack?

MyDaydream · 05/09/2012 16:54

seconds glad your out of hospital. Take it easy.
Stacey no wedding ring here, but I had to take the ring off my middle finger a few weeks back because I was worried about it getting stuck since it was getting harder to take it off.
Clarella that sounds awful, I admire you for not breaking down, I don't think I could have helped myself.
Cookies hope you figure something out with the money. Is it too late to pick up a couple of extra hours to puts you over the allowance. I'll get the full amount since I'm not working, but would much rather have been working for the last few months, we've not had money coming in for ages, and I'm still a month away from being able to claim MA.
Went to the library today and checked out my life in books, only got ones about childbirth and driving tests!

kate2boysandabump · 05/09/2012 17:22

Second Hope you are feeling better.

Clarella YANBU! That's terrible, to just go and make a mess over someone's stuff like that.

Bubbless Sorry you had a rotten day Sad

Cookies Can you try and get a bit of overtime to put you over the threshold? I think you still have a few weeks to fit it in, but I could be wrong.

Daydream Are you learning to drive?

My right pelvic joint has been sore today, but I still managed to walk to school this morning and then drove for the rest of the day. I managed my swim at lunchtime too, only 40 lengths though, a bit down on last time, but I was pushed for time. Feels lovely in the water, but so heavy when it's time to get out.

GreatExpectation · 05/09/2012 17:29

Hi ladies- any secondary school teachers in this group?

Also, not that they're necessary as yet with this sunny weather, but has anybody found some good maternity tights? I'm a bit disappointed with the Seraphine ones. They're ok, but not particularly thick. I'm a bit of a tight obsessive!!!

MyDaydream · 05/09/2012 17:40

kate yeah, thought it was about time I stopped relying on busses, started when I was 17 but need to redo my theory test, which is on Friday, then hopefully pass my test before I'm too big to fit behind the wheel.
Great I've not been wearing maternity tights, instead just getting bigger sizes. Tend to stick to Dorothy Perkins ones since they have great colours.
What's everyone doing for maternity coats? Can't bear to spend £60+ on a coat for one winter but would like something to fasten over my bump when it starts raining regularly.
