Here's a new link for us all to chatter on

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Sorry to hear that secondsop, did they give you any explaination? Hope you're ok and resting up.

[Brew] weejo and bubbless and a comfy cushion on the sofa for you - I can't work out which is worse, all male work place or all female; some women can be just as 'grin n bare it don't make a fuss you're not ill' as men.

Bubbless, that was exactly what I was afraid for you. Can you two time it so that one of you sits then the other right after? However I know what its like in the chaos esp in first few weeks. we never get breaks at work and not even lunch breaks for the first term as so many kids need support at lunch and there's never enough people who know how to deal with the behaviour (distress related) so all hands on deck, gobble on the go. I usually spend September completely dehydrated.

Friend, I feel for you but it does make you get stuff done with a baby deadline! Get a priority list sorted pronto! Praying plumber makes some stuff work tonight.... ;)

Midwife was good today, got the next batch of bloods done. Still getting dizzy spells though bp was 110/60 ( bizarrely proud of my bp!) Oh and measuring bang on again for dates, she said there's always a little growth spurt around 27/28 weeks, which had happened last week so no need to worry about looking 'neat' or 'small' for 7 months!

Clarella · 04/09/2012 17:43

Brew !

EggsMichelle · 04/09/2012 17:54

Clarella that tea mug looks like it has a blue cannabis leaf on it! I'm sure that's not advisable for us.

I got told off at work today by women for carrying too much, but when I suggested they helped me, they stopped moaning! Bloody women!

MyDaydream · 04/09/2012 18:24

2blessed I'm planning to start thinking about it around 30 weeks with all the good intentions in the world to get it packed by 35, but it won't be finished until a mad rush round an hour before I go to hospital! I'll probably do it in stages rather than all in one go really, just chuck stuff in as and when I get it, then once labour starts I'll repack it to make sure I've actually got everything I need.
Bubbles sorry to hear you had such a crap time at work, you need to stop thinking about work as much and once she's finished her ten minutes just say "I'm just going to have my sit down now", or just go to do it. Her pregnancy is no more important than yours.
I feel better about baby now a few people have said theirs has gone quiet too. I've been for a walk round town and now I've sat down he's having a little kick. I see my midwife next week, I think I'm just going to try going on some nice walks as he gets kicky if I exercise then sit down.
WeeJo hope the working week improves for you too.
Eggs I think MN are all for getting high with the cannabis leaf tea and the olympic 'torch' Torch!

Secondsop · 04/09/2012 18:29

Hello, they couldn't see any source for the bleeding so we don't know what caused it. There hasn't been any more since then. I have, though, just had an episode of numbness on my left hand and also on the left lower side of my face. Rang them and I need to go back in tonight to be assessed again. It's one thing after the other! Can feel the baby kicking away so he seems ok though.

SpottyTeacakes · 04/09/2012 18:31

I've just read there's a house inside my mummy to dd, it's so lovely a nearly cried!

MyDaydream · 04/09/2012 18:36

Seconds I hope everything is okay with you when you go back.

PurplePidjin · 04/09/2012 18:55

Bubbless, i think I'd have resorted to "is it my turn yet?" with a very pointed Hmm face, but then I'm a passive aggressive bitch like that Blush

Seconds, fingers crossed

Does anyone else watch Hollyoaks? Is it me or does Nancy look about 7.5 months gone - she's bigger than me (27+4)!!

SpottyTeacakes · 04/09/2012 18:59

Bubbless sorry you had such a hard day, the next couple of months will fly by and remember you can finish sooner!

secondsop hopefully it's nothing, good that they're getting you in though.

I got told my baby is going to be really big today but some random man Hmm when I told him I'm not due until end of December.

Received my steriliser today and the baby wrap/sling thingy is waiting at the sorting office for me, can't get it until Saturday though!

WeeJo08 · 04/09/2012 19:13

seconds Hope all is okay when you go back tonight, thinking of you. Feel very guilty for moaning now! Will keep everything crossed that they figure things out quickly & it isn't too stressful for you.

Home now & hubby is taking care of dinner & doing the washing up. :) Think pain might actually be caused by the new back support thingy as my back is probably not used to being in the right position! Oh well, it's important I persevere. Hubby very insistent that I speak to work tomorrow about getting my screen at the right height, get a foot rest, etc - says it's "their bloody responsibility!" He's funny when he gets all protective (and lovely :)) He's right too!

Tonight is going to be all about a lovely bath, nice food and The Great British Bake Off Grin I LOVE autumn TV! So excited about Strictly starting in a few weeks...might start a Pregnant Lady Strictly Appreciation thread!

Sorry for being a many old cowbag earlier & thank you for cheering me up :)

Clarella · 04/09/2012 19:19

Oh secondsop, hope all is well, that sounds worrying xx

Giggling at the mug and torch, has reminded me that the pregnant bride at the wedding where everyone was pregnant questioned whether cannabis was an effective labour pain relief (its been a tough few months sorting a DIY budget wedding and doing up a house, plus baby has a cord problem) (she wasn't serious!) I think the conclusion was overwhelmingly no but I can't remember the specifics as to why.... it wasn't legality though!

MyDaydream · 04/09/2012 19:26

I can't wait for the Bake Off, I have a bit of a crush on James, he's just lovely! Unfortunately for DP he's going to have to wait for his dinner when he gets in because I'm not missing the end just to cook for him [bad girlfriend emoticon]
It does make me jealous I don't have a Kitchen Aid or the creativity to think of all those yummy things.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 04/09/2012 19:28

bubbless it's much easier once the baby's there and there's a common ground. So people still judge but tbh they aren't worth the hassle! Just be approachable and smile a lot, they'll soon be falling over themselves to be your friends!

Whoever said about 'there's a house inside my mummy' it's a beautiful book! Both my kids love it (even when I'm not pregnant).

second that doesn't sound like much fun but fingers crossed all is ok.

DH out tonight and I nearly cried when he left which is ridiculous. But got told today he's going away to Bangalore at the end of the month for a week so I'm not very happy!

ellliebelle · 04/09/2012 19:29

Omg friend that is a lot to do, you must be a brave woman Smile

weejo and others sorry to hear you are in pain, I've been lucky so far and can only really say I've been uncomfortable. Maybe I'll be lucky and not get too much back pain (although I broke my back in a fall two years ago so am dubious)

On my way home now from what seemed like a mammoth shift! Be glad to put my feet up.

emilyeggs · 04/09/2012 20:29
