knotty we managed to get ours off eBay almost brand spanking new for £50! Shock (that's why we bought it at 6 weeks gone! Lol)

cherry sorry about your dog, that's the hardest bit of owning animals IMO. And crying isn't going to hurt bump, and is completely natural, let yourself grieve.

As for classes I think nhs ones were supposed to be booked at around 18-20 weeks. Dunno about nct ones, I'm not bothering tbh as DH wouldn't go anyway and I don't need to be told how to push this one out/about the hospital/how to look after a newborn (and I have 2 very close friends who are breast feeding counsellors so ive got that angle covered too). I did find them invaluable for making a set of friends with dd but most people 'wouldn't mix' with me because they were so far up their own arses I was only 17 Shock

emilyeggs · 04/09/2012 09:18

so sorry to hear about your dog cherry. I still get upset about our family dog we had when I was young and my dad can't talk about her sometimes. They are like a member of the family Sad sending hugs and chocolate to the sobbing sofa

utopian99 · 04/09/2012 09:55

cherry so sorry about your dog, it is awful, and thinking of you.

friend will cross everything, let us know how it goes!

We have ignored nhs classes in favour of nct, mostly due to recommendation from others, first one starts next Tuesday evening. Am excited to learn a bit as this is our first and I still feel like we know very little; also a bit scared the cluelessness will show me up!

Back on the job issue, it's further complicated by me earning more than dh (not by much, but still), and us hoping to move to London where he would get a pay rise and we'd be getting reduced rent from a family member, which would change things no end. I still need to tell work something until I know if I'm not coming back though. Think smp is 6 weeks full + 33 weeks of minimum?

Cookiesandcream06 · 04/09/2012 10:15

Ahh! I've missed so much. Hope everyone has been ok.

cherry awful news Sad so sad. We have a rabbit and i feel like even she is part of ghe family. I can offer you some chocolate muffins I ate 4 yesterday Blush So definitely need to share.

bubbless good luck at going back to work, I hope you don't find it too hard.

Sorry to hear of those with SPD, I have a referral for physio with my sciatica, and I think I might have a bit of SPD mixed in this time round. Have found my sleeping pillow does help a little. Take it easy ladies and look after yourselves.

Customers at work keep asking when I'm due and look absolutely shocked when I say Dec.. Am I really that huge ?!

Clarella · 04/09/2012 10:28

So sorry about your dog too cherry, i always find that devastating. Big hugs.

been lurking, felt like poo last few days, I think I've worked out I need to ramp up the fluids again now, (eeek 28 weeks) I think I was suffering from low bp as a result of not enough fluids (probably thyroid coming down again too) over the wkend seemed could barely get out of bed without feeling dizzy. Better yesterday but having to drink a LOT! Still produced an embarrassingly murky sample for mw this morn - not even my first :/ am I the only one who feels pride in a nice clear straw coloured one?!

So sorry to hear about pelvic pain must be awful - hope those not getting support get answers and
support soon.

Ooo excitement friend! Hope goes well!

Hope today goes/ went well bubbless. I'm feeling very weird about not being there today. Trying not to think about it cos I will get upset (weirdo!) Make sure you drink lots of water , it'll be doubly hot with the nice weather and you won't be used to all the hecticness, and as I said above I'm definately needing more now.

Why the grumpy sofa queen? I may join you and glare at the top builder, the joiner and plumber may join us too as top builder isn't communicating with plumber, joiner, electrician etc and is resulting in major hold ups and everyone is getting pissed off now!

LOVING the new fabrics in ikea, tempted to make the evolotta one into curtains or something for nursery - first thing we bought for baby was this www.blueq.com/shop/item/229-productId.125846271_229-catId.117440758.html for the nursery so its kind of evolving down the 'white with splashes of colour ' theme!

FriendofDorothy · 04/09/2012 10:33

We now own a house :)

SpottyTeacakes · 04/09/2012 10:36

Utopian it's six weeks at 90% then 33 weeks £135.45

SpottyTeacakes · 04/09/2012 10:36

Wow Friend that's great news!

Clarella · 04/09/2012 10:43

Hurray friend! Bet you are soooo excited! Xx

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 04/09/2012 10:49

Yay friend congratulations

MyDaydream · 04/09/2012 10:57

cherry so sorry to hear about your dog.
bubbles your neighbours sound really lovely to give all that to you. And I wouldn't worry about sleeping, I can't sleep left I just can't get comfy on that side.
friend congratulations, how exciting.
Im not doing antenatal classes at all, it's one 90 minute class here and I just can't see how thats going to teach me more than everything I've read so far. And my mum never bothered and doesn't feel like she missed out either.
clarella that shade is really cool I'm loving the idea fabrics too, I'm thinking of making him a massive heap of cushions so when he's older and playing in his room he can collapse in a big squishy pile. And if we ever have guests and not enough chairs, I can just grab them then too.
Has anyone had a really wriggly, kicky baby and then just a total change? I'm getting worried about it because up until about 22 weeks I was feeling loads of wriggles and big kicks all day, now I'm lucky to get one big kick a week and feel any wriggles at all. I'm 24+5 now, I find it hard to contact my MW as shes out all day and I just keep remembering all the horrible MWs I spoke to at the hospital last year when I was alone, MCing and not knowing what to do so don't really want to call them if you think I'm being silly. Anyone else? Does it sound normal or should I do something?

WeeJo08 · 04/09/2012 11:16

Hello ladies

I've been lurking for a few days now - not really sure why! Feeling a bit down for no real reason whatsoever. Naturally I'm going to blame hormones Grin

Friend That's amazing! Such exciting news for you - have fun planning your new home Grin We had the estate agent round on Saturday so the house should (fingers crossed) go on the market next week. Was really proud of myself as managed to totally blitz the house on Friday (DH was so impressed and pleased when he came home) so it looked great. Makes me feel better too that I've at least started the (long!) process of moving by being pretty ruthless and throwing out loads of crap stuff we haven't used in a while.

Cherry So sorry to hear about your wee dog. We had to do that 4 years ago and I am still really sad when I think about it. Big hug.

Good luck to everyone going back to work and sympathy, hugs, cups of tea and chocolate to those suffering with hip pain/back pain/SPD. My back is still really bloody sore. Had acupuncture yesterday and I know that the effects won't kick in straight away but I was kind of hoping they would have. Hubby got me a back support for my desk chair so that is helping.

I did loads of list writing at the weekend so today I am going to start doing a bit of price comparison for stuff for my hospital kit. Not going to actually pack it for quite a while but want to start getting stuff for it (and therefore spreading the cost!) When do you guys recommend having it ready from?

Pram-wise we think we are leaning towards the Petite Star Kurvi. It's a travel system thingy. There seem to be some good deals on it. Not 100% sure whether to get the one without the car seat and then buy a Maxi Cosi separately or just buy the whole travel system in one go. (Because we don't plan on using the pram straight away.) It's all so confusing! Confused

Wow. That was a long one. This is why I shouldn't lurk!

CODwidow · 04/09/2012 11:25

Had mw this morning and all fine, measuring spot on for dates (25+6) so all good. Feeling well this time round so making the most of it at the mo Smile

Busy day today getting everything ready for back to school tomorrow.

SpottyTeacakes · 04/09/2012 11:37

I've put on 3kg so far. Got scan and consultant tomorrow always get nervous!

Clarella · 04/09/2012 11:43

My daydream, yes Ive had exactly that from 22 to 27 weeks, lots of kicks then a few days with very little or none at all. It's only in the last week I've been feeling movement every day - definately less when a bit bunged up though! It's not necessarily proper boots everyday, sometimes more like wiggles and squirms and I've started to be able to tell how he's lying and that seems to make a difference to what I feel. But I really don't think any mw would deny you a little check if you are worried.

There's more funky fabrics at clothkits (online) but tend to be a bit more pricey. Am with you on the pile of cushions! I actually like the faces one for a cushion.

Hope you feel brighter soon weejo, hugs x

Yes lurking = mammoth posts! Sorry!

Secondsop · 04/09/2012 12:57

Sorry about your dog cherry. Have a good cry, and remember how much happiness the dog had living with you.

Re classes, our local authority only has 1 evening class so we've booked NCT ( we're first-time parents so need a bit of extra help!).

Had to go to the hospital as I had a show of blood, but everything seems ok, but am resting now.

MyDaydream · 04/09/2012 13:34

WeeJo I've been feeling like that sometimes, just a few days where I'm meh. Hope you feel better soon.

I'm thinking of starting to pull my hospital bag together once we've finished our move and have it all packed for about 35 weeks, but I'll maybe give everything a sniff and wash at 40 weeks if it's got a bit musty from sitting in a bag for so long.
Clarella it's good to know you've been feeling the same thing. Funny though as soon as I posted he started wriggling around loads!

Thanks for clothkits, they have some really cool stuff. I need to get busy with fabric, I want to make his cot mobile and I've got a mini rocking chair I used to play with that needs recovering, me and my mum are going to give it a go with the theory "there's a video for everything on YouTube"
Seconds glad everything is okay, that must have been really scary.

2blessed · 04/09/2012 14:56

Hi ladies,
loads to catch up on, the chats are moving fast.
Cherry sorry to hear about your dog, pets really do become part of the family...
Friend great news! Do you have lots to do in the house? More excitement and I bet you're relieved. I'll be moving into a new flat soon and I'm beginning to get stressed about it all especially as its getting closer to December by the day and still no date to sign the tenancy - grrrr!
daydream I've been thinking about my hospital bag over the weekend and wondering when is a good time to get it ready by. Is 30 weeks too early? Currently 24+2
Hope you're all enjoying the sunshine, its gorgeous here wish I wasn't at work though Sad. Boss really annoyed me today, so had to go on a long walk and just kept telling myself I've got three months until mat leave Grin

utopian99 · 04/09/2012 15:05

mydaydream I was the same last week - really wriggly, strong kicks and then over the weekend and friday only the odd much weaker one.. Had my MW appointment this morning (she's friendly and puts up with my inanity) and she said it's probably just because he's turned so his legs are away from my tummy and more inwards, if that makes sense. Also, about half an hour after MW appointment he suddenly went loopy again, so you should be okay, so long as you are feeling something, rather than nothing at all?

secondsop hope you're okay and keep resting..

am horrendously anally retentive about planning but trying to hold off hospital bag until about 35 weeks, although have a list for me and a list for DH at the ready!

FriendofDorothy · 04/09/2012 15:23

We have lots to do to the house. It needs major drainage work, woodworm treatment, central heating, a new kitchen and complete decorating and carpeting.

It's going to be tight to get in before the baby is born!

Bubbless · 04/09/2012 15:54

spotty people like that are such idiots, you end up bending over backwards for them when they get stuck because your loyal and then get treated like shit in return :(

queen my manager at work is lovley, but my manager above her is a dick very... different.. man.. who believed that when i was signed off work (and actually in hospital!) with hyperemesis i must have been making it up because 'pregnancy is natural'...
oh, have some brownies- he will be jelous they smell amazing!

stacey im really worried about not making any friends because of my age :(
im quiet isolated as it is, and really really want to make some RL friends, but people look at me and assume im a lot younger than what i am (am only 20, but ya'know!) how bad was it? :/

clarella no pride, but deffinatly shame when it smells, i just want to run and hide!
you know what? today was awful, had a little cry when i got in just becase it was so overwhelming. theres another lady at work whos pregnant (only 4 of us in the kitchen!) who sat down for 10mins once an hour, regardless of what needed to be done, so i only got about 10 mins break all day because regardless of what work needed to be done she would go and sit down. legs and back and pelvis are killing me... shes only 20 weeks.. im 23 sulks

friend congrats! how exciting!!

daydream personally? id call / go whereever, and call them all dicks (inside your head!) make sure you get what you need, if treating you like shit makes them feel any better then they can crack on, dont let it affect you.. do what you feel is best for bump regardless!

sorry about massive posts atm!

WeeJo08 · 04/09/2012 16:12

My back, hips, ribs and neck are so sore, I have eaten a mountain of crap not very healthy food today, I work in an office of men so have to appear all capable and cope-y (when I am not feeling very capable or cope-y at all today) and I am really bloody unbearably HOT.

I actually just crawled under my desk for a few minutes to try and ease the pain. I just want to go home.

Sorry for moan.

EggsMichelle · 04/09/2012 16:43

Wow secondsop that must of been scary, but so glad you are alright. Get lots of rest and make sure someone else does your house work!

Iv raided a wool shop today and come away with an absurd number of projects, blast my need to dress Shrimpy in home knits!

I will have to look at those fabrics too, we have been given a second hand Moses basket which has a bit of a warn cover, so a new cover would be nice to freshen it up.

SpottyTeacakes · 04/09/2012 16:48

Nearly home time WeeJo Smile

How frightening secondsop glad everything's ok
