Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Barbeasty · 24/08/2012 16:25

Mine is (and was last time), but different departments/ locations.

I got to the interview desperate for the loo, and there weren't any in reception where I had to wait. But the lovely receptionist saw I was pregnant and let me go behind the desk. Not literally, but in their private mess room area.

Just got to see if pregnancy gets me a seat on the train. I'm getting an earlier one than planned, so not got one reserved. If it looks too busy I might just wait for an hour for the booked one... Platform is packed due to another delayed train so hard to tell.

Barbeasty · 24/08/2012 16:29

I give up. Tea and mumsnet for an hour it is.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 24/08/2012 16:54

Nutella I actually put it on overnight. This morning I was right as rain again!

I am normally one of the healthiest eaters you will ever find (bar the occassional treat) but I had morning sickness til 17 weeks and the only things I could eat most days were white toast, salt n vinegar crisps and MacDonalds! I am now managing fruit, veg and proper meat again. But my diet still has a long way to go before it gets anywhere near healthy baby is a chocoholic

I'm starting to feel the need to shop! I have been very restrained so far but I get paid next friday and may shower some of it on the baby and myself

PurplePidjin · 24/08/2012 16:58

I'm also a healthy eater, however baby requires daily içe cream (heart burn) so I've not been as good as I should!

I just bought teeny vests and a totsbots stars in Tesco :o

ellliebelle · 24/08/2012 19:36

Arrgh im having an ann summers party tonight and forgot to get any wine what with me not drinking ooops hope people bring a bottle

Cookiesandcream06 · 24/08/2012 19:42

Oh barbeasty and pmgkt hope it goes well for you.. I spent a lot of time cleaning up wee at this time!
Muffins sounds amazing pidj !!

I'm curled up on my actual sofa trying not to cry Sad nearly eaten a whole bar of Milka chocolate but is willing to share my last few chunks?! Sure the baby needs the chocolately nutrients?! Basically things between me and DP are so bad he's gone to stay at his parents house for a little bit. Whilst being pregnant and dealing with a 'difficult' 3 year old this really isn't helping Sad feeling so sorry for myself. Went out today and bought a load of baby bits (moses basket, vests etc) and raided H&M - thanks for the tip ladies.. Spent a small fortune though! Oops. Sometimes retail therapy is necessary .

mwahmwah · 24/08/2012 19:51

Oh cookies poor u and dp. What d'u reckon is the problem? Pregnancy defo increases the pressure so hoping it all settles soon for u both.

PurplePidjin · 24/08/2012 19:52

Wow, Cookies what a twat! Can you drop your 3yo off "to spend time with daddy" tomorrow, at least?

acjfluff · 24/08/2012 20:57

cookies that's really rough, I hope you're feeling better after the chocolate and you get some time to sort things out with your DP

utopian99 · 24/08/2012 21:14

cookies hope you're okay and chocolate is helping? Sending pull-yourself-together-man vibes to your dp..

Am halfway through customary marathon 5.5 hour drive to my parents and it has been chucking it down the whole way but i am mightily resisting caving in for a loo break, although had previously warned dh I'd be wanting to stop every hour... Feeling quite proud!

His sympathy baby is demanding mint aero, it seems. Hmm

emilyeggs · 24/08/2012 21:45

Had a row with DH, Sad over hand towels SadSad budge up on the sobbing sofa SadSadSad

Cookiesandcream06 · 24/08/2012 21:53

emily there is more than enough room for you but I can't promise there's any chocolate left In fact I feel pretty sick now! utopian hope you have a good journey, yucky weather. (anyone else notice how it was dark by like 8.30 tonight?! and excited that autumn is nearing?!)

Thanks ladies but yeh feeling pretty rotten, I did say it was for the best if he had a night away ( to think about his actions) but now it's another night and he wont be back tomorrow either so just left hanging to hold things together really. Now he's really angry at me and still hasn't apologised which I'm pretty livid about, and hasn't asked how I am. Grrr

I have been making lots of orders online to keep myself busy (pretty skint now!) but decided to treat myself to a crib and a moses basket, and hunted down a 15% off Mothercare voucher so saved £16 which was good. Come next week when all these purchases leave my account I am going to be mortified and be in shit but right now I really don't care.

emilyeggs · 24/08/2012 21:54

Just read posts cookies I feel for you I really do

emilyeggs · 24/08/2012 21:56

I dont even have enough for retail therapy Sad

itsMYNutella · 24/08/2012 23:45

Oh Cookies that sounds pretty rough. Feel free to moan and whinge on here and get it all off your chest! Or even send a PM if it helps to offload.
I went through a hideous break up, years ago total dicksplash of an ex and at the time just having someone or somewhere to offload was so important for my sanity I really do understand if you need to, also appreciate it is entirely your private life and I don't wish to pry. here have a brownie... I put white chocolate in too... But it doesn't seem to have worked Hmm should still taste fattening great :)

eggs I almost had a row today with DP because it was raining

We have friends staying this weekend, they are lovely and it's great to have them here but it means staying in German.... Got serious brain ache already so Shock am in bed before DP! But lovely to know he is enjoying having them here :o

Queenofsiburbia · 25/08/2012 06:32

Sad for all those who are having a bad time with dp's and Angry on your behalf. Hopefully they will feel the full hormonal force of all us MNers telepathically and make the required efforts to sort things out.

I am healthy eating... and unhealthy eating, IYSWIM. Theory is, if I eat plenty of fruit & veg (ok, more nectarines than green beans if I'm honest) I can also eat bags of maltesers, tracker bars etc. that way we both get what we need :)

I like the idea of a sympathy baby - although in my head it's a baby that offers Brew & Biscuit via your DP. Guessing that's not actually the case!

I am Confused about how pregnant I am. I mean I know I'm 25 weeks (+ a few days) but how many months does that make me? Do we have 10 months or 9 months pregnancy? In theory I'm 6 months & about to enter third trimester... Is that right?! It's just that people do [blank face emoticon] when I tell them in weeks.

Queenofsiburbia · 25/08/2012 06:33

YEAY to autumn btw!!! :)

PurplePidjin · 25/08/2012 06:43

I was 6 calendar months yesterday based on LMP of 24/2. I was also 26 weeks spot on...

knottyhair · 25/08/2012 06:45

Cookies & Emily, hope things get better with your DP/DH. Not sure who it was who said it but pregnancy really can increase the pressure on your relationship sometimes.

I'm also normally a very healthy eater, and like Queen, am continuing to eat plenty of fruit & veg etc but yesterday it was supplemented by 2 M&S sticky buns Blush. I'm taking DS to the cinema later and I'm pretty sure that Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia will be featuring somewhere. Oh well, I suppose it's all about balance....
Queen, I always think in weeks rather than months when it comes to my pregnancy. Everything I've read seems to say that the second trimester is 12-24 weeks, so I'd say you're already in your 3rd! And another autumn fan here! I always love the change in the weather, starting Christmas shopping, Halloween (we usually have a big party, not too sure about this year!), Bonfire night and Strictly!
On another rather embarrassing note, has anyone else got piles Blush? I think I may have developed one (very itchy in said area, but can't yet bring myself to investigate further). Didn't have them with DS so I'm not really sure. Can anyone recommend a good cream or whatever??

Clarella · 25/08/2012 07:25

Is it Autumn? Oh yes its cold and raining. But yeay!

Had two days of total numbness and quietness but seems to have helped, plus two hours of psychoanalysing a best friend's current relationship issues yesterday helped me feel part if the world again (there actually isn't a prob with him its the way every idiot before has treated her and she can't quite process the fact this one is great just emotionally a little clueless).

So so sorry to hear that cookies, kinda agree with pidg wtf is he doing going elsewhere?! But I know its prob not that straight forward. Hope you have been able to sleep and hugs in advance for today.Brew Biscuit we need a tissue and chocolate emotion.

Hugs and hope all better for you too Emily
Maybe we need a Costco run for tissues and Choc.

I had the rage about DH not understanding about why I've been so puzzled about car seats, he just bases it on price (totally ignorant about isofixes, age, weight, and which 'dont buys') and he also dared to question a new mattress for the cot we've been given .... v surprised that he has learnt to now tactfully say "what you think is best darling"(score!) (I think someone is giving him 'tips') - ironically after my ranting that his chosen baby seat was "all wrong" it's actually going to be the best.Blush

Hope interview (and journey) went well barbeasty, when do you hear? I know of a headteacher who was hired the day before her maternity leave.

Bizarrely for me I'm craving healthy stuff, esp hummus, cottage cheese, tomatoes, cucumber, oats, fruit etc but wonder if that's cos no kitchen/cooker etc. However on weds eve I HAD to have wotsits, quavers and cadburies for dinner. I seem to get it all out of the way at once and I'm ok for a few days!

Been very confused about that too queen, never realised it could be 10 months for some! I say the weeks and then the month version now, I was always one of the [blank face emotions] too!

Clarella · 25/08/2012 07:26

Oops massive post sorry!

Clarella · 25/08/2012 07:31

Piles - am afraid (after much investigation following evil pharmacists refusal to allow anything in pregnancy) its only really anusol and you have to keep going for a good week or so. I'd try the pessaries over the cream or both.

PurplePidjin · 25/08/2012 07:56

I heard that a cotton wool pad soaked in witch hazel helped, although I've had no reason to test it. Might be worth keeping any cream in the fridge, too?

knottyhair · 25/08/2012 08:16

Thanks Clarella and Purple Smile.

itsMYNutella · 25/08/2012 08:23

knotty oh dear... I'm sorry to hear of your ahem discomfort Blush hope you can get some cream for it!

When I came to bed last night I was shattered. Only problem with friends we have here is he is smaller than DP but can seriously hold his drink Hmm, DP not so much [eye roll]
DP came to bed hit the pillow. Asleep. Then bump woke up and decided to give me a really good kicking Sad for the 1st time ever! After having a really busy day yesterday I was not pleased. So I sang the "5 little speckled frogs" song - which DP also loves Blush and that seemed to do the trick Grin thank goodness

But I had an awful nights sleep Sad stupid crazy nonsensical dreams Angry kept waking up and tossing & turning. The only reference I can understand was the big house setting (been watching downton Abbey - now waiting for cousin Matthew to whisk me away...) the big cats (lions, tigers, panthers the works) I can't explain!
