oh dear horsey chin up, you know you are doing the right thing.

Passmethecrisps · 12/08/2012 13:02

Aw no, horsey Sad

It's for the best but I know how tough it will be.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 12/08/2012 13:15

horsey how sad making. Big hugs.

MrsWee good luck for tomorrow. I got a new job just before I left on mat leave last time and had my interview when I was enormous, they can't hold it against you. They can't even ask you if you are pregnant Grin. Anyway, hope it all goes well am sure you will look fab.

Baby hardly moving today, but had some twinges after an ice cold water. Is slightly worrying, but am seeing midwife tomorrow morning so will see what she says.

I get all kinds of different strength kicks/punches and I haven't a clue which bit is beating me up! Not bothered really so long as its happening. The bigger ones have started to make me giggle cause they take you by surprise don't they? I was resting a magazine on my bump last night to read and it amused us to watch it bob up and down, haha.

I'm in the ribs camp with you Horsey. The kicks are just below my boobs! I keep wondering how high the uterus must be now (28 wks) and the organs that are starting to get squished. No wonder it's getting harder to bend down and pick things up on the floor! It's not like I can squish the middle bit anymore. I look like a right loon dropping stuff and taking about 3 attempts at different angles to tackle the manoeuvre, lol. I don't feel big enough to have to struggle with these things yet. It's going to be an interesting 3 months...

horseylady · 12/08/2012 16:46

Peaky - totally understand that!!!

She's gone :( I was good and didn't cry!! Actually several people had perfect timing today so I couldn't spend too much time with her and get upset!! I still own her so will pop over in a month to see her.

Just bathed my two disgusting dogs!!! They smell nicer but they've shed another dogs worth of fur and I daren't keep washing for fear of them going bold!! I only bath then once or twice a year and shove them under the hose or nearest stream the rest of the time but I might do it more often! It's just such a trauma!!

DesperateHousewife21 · 12/08/2012 18:08

kissy oh really? We're hopefully going to win a britax buggy on eBay tonight (major finger crossing!) so wonder if that car seat is the one which is compatible, don't suppose you can link it on here or has it got a name I can search for?

TheDetective · 12/08/2012 18:16

I'm still 8lb under my pre-pregnancy weight, but I'm overweight, so I don't need/want/have to gain weight the same as someone who us under weight, or a healthy weight for their height!

I made bad choices with DS, so I am being stricter on myself this time. I literally have put nothing on til 26 weeks. I still fit in all my normal clothes, although I have 3 pieces of mat. clothing, and a couple of floaty dresses for comfort. I'm not huge, but I don't have a non existent bump either! It isn't at that cumbersome stage yet, and can still move as normal. The only things I have a problem with are turning over in bed - but I've had that since 6 sodding weeks?!! And occasional shoe putting on!

To be honest the shoe thing was a pain in the butt pre-pregnancy Grin. I wish I could just let it all go and eat what I want :( but I've always told myself I won't do it this time around. I went from 9st, dropped to 7st, then weighed 13st at full term, but put the vast majority of weight on in the last 6 weeks!! If my memory serves me correctly, it was about 2 stone in 6 friggin' weeks! And the worst thing was, I didn't look huge, barely looked pregnant til 36 weeks! Then after I couldn't shift the weight from 11st. Never got below 11st in 10 years :(

Oh, as for knowing where baby is. I have't a clue. It's much harder to palpate your own bump it seems! Blush I also don't get rib kicks yet! Most movements are around my belly button, or below, or internal to the sides and back. Oh, and the butt kicks! They are bloody uncomfortable! I think this baby is still on the smaller side.

Ooops, epic post!!

ValiumQueen · 12/08/2012 18:23

Wow detective, that was some weight fluctuation in your first pregnancy!

Your baby does seem a bit small. Or perhaps he just likes lying sideways.

TheDetective · 12/08/2012 18:42

Don't I know it!! I didn't stop vomiting til 20 weeks, but as soon as I stopped then the weight just crept and crept up, because I was clearly underweight. I think the less you weigh, the more your body seems to put weight on in pregnancy!

I don't think it is sideways... it doesn't feel sideways, but I'm not sure if its bum/head down, but was head down on friday... Considering DS was 8lb5, I figured this one would be bigger. But, different partner - so that has probably affected things somewhat. I'm thinking this one might be 6-7lb?!

Bump is to the front, I don't look pregnant from behind yet Grin It's not spread to the sides lol!

kissyfur · 12/08/2012 19:00

Yes dh21 we had the Britax Vigour 3 + travel system for DD and had the Britax car seat that went with it, don't know the exact name tho and can't look at mo as it's in the loft, sorry. We bought it in 2009, not sure they make that buggy anymore but we loved it, hoping to use again for this DC (if we can get away with not having to buy a double) Is that the buggy you are hoping to win? We couldn't have an Isofix base when we bought the travel system as had an older car, the base just fixed in with the seat belt and then you just clicked the car seat in and out with a button on the handle if I remember rightly Smile

Chunkychicken · 12/08/2012 19:57

The Vigour is now the B-Smart. Love our one (3 wheeler bought in 2010) & we wanted to get the seat base for DD but it didn't fit our Ford Focus properly. Hoping that the car seat is still okay for this LO & then will use the buggy with a buggy board and we're probably going to get the Smyth Dimple Duo tandem just in case.

DonnaDoon · 12/08/2012 20:16

Loads of rib kicking here...loads of heartburn ( Rennies are my best evening friend ) I am definately bigger than my other pregnancies got a feeling this ones going to be a whopper...even my own Mother asked me today.." How come your so big this time ? " !!!! I mean...How rude ? Not funny. I would rather a big bouncing baby as long as its healthy and all that. Rant over.

DesperateHousewife21 · 12/08/2012 20:25

kissy the buggy on eBay is the Britax B Dual, absolute bargain really hoping I get it.
I think though we're going to go with a maxi cosi car seat and base as its not hugely important about it going on the buggy.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 12/08/2012 20:38

eom are ot go near the scales till after birth. I have had 2stone to loose after every pregnancy and so hope it will be no more this time.

I have a big bump, but I can not for the life of me workout which way it is. Unlike the othe pregnancies I can't feel any hard bits that could be backs or head or bums. All the movement is just above my left hip Confused. This is why I was asking about the ball as it feels to me like it is possible traverse and posterior, I think I have that right.

Roll on tomorrow I may have some answers.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 12/08/2012 20:39

That should have read "I dare not go near the scales....."

DonnaDoon · 12/08/2012 20:42

Pssst Do Not Go near the scales....I did today...2 stone up already :( As from tommorrow only fruit after 6 pm instead of salt and vineger crisps, choccy biscuits etc

kissyfur · 12/08/2012 21:00

Hope you win it dh21! Smile

What buggy board are you getting chunky?

I am a bit scared to go near the scales now, can feel the weight creeping on! We took DD out to a park today and it was so hot I had to go have a sir down in a cafe, had a little cake bar thing from honeybee bakery and after I'd eaten it I saw it had 474 calories in it! Blush How does that many calories get in one tiny cake bar!?!

DesperateHousewife21 · 12/08/2012 21:09

Woop! I won the buggy for 180! Costs over 300 to buy new with all the kit I'm getting with it and it's only been used for a couple of months so in great condition Grin

ValiumQueen · 12/08/2012 21:11

Well done DH21. Hope you are very pleased with it.

Passmethecrisps · 12/08/2012 21:26

Hooray on the buggy win dh. Sounds like a great deal.

Am sitting with a hot water bottle on my back. Have had one in bed the last couple of nights. It's really too hot for it but needs must.

Back to work tomorrow - last 8 weeks! What a thought!

Chunkychicken · 12/08/2012 22:27

Got a Revelo Kid-Sit kissyfur as it has a little seat on it, is quite narrow & fits the buggy perfectly!! :)

Weighed myself. Shouldn't have. Feeling HUGE. Admittedly weighing oneself late at night is never good, but if I continue putting on weight at the rate I have over the last fortnight, I will have put on over a third of my body weight during the pg. That is most definitely NOT good. I doubt I will continue to gain the weight at that rate - if I gain half as much again in the next 13wks as I did in the first 26wks, that would be a bit more reasonable (although more than 'average') and the same as I did with DD. Can't even claim it was all baby either - it was quite a lot of cake-based gain there Wink

kissyfur · 12/08/2012 23:05

Thanks chunky might have to get one of those too - they look great! Grin

izzybizzybuzzybees · 13/08/2012 00:51

Great news on pram DH!

On the weight front I weigh the same as I did at booking appt at 8 weeks! I have a BMI of 32 so not great to start with! My kicks still very low down usually on my bladder which isn't so fun. Loving our downstairs loo just now as peeing loads and bad SPD is no fun. I have an overactive bladder anyway so nights I am usually up 3/4 times when not pregnant and now its way way worse!

Iheartpasties · 13/08/2012 03:45

28 weeks tomorrow! I cannot believe hor fast it is going now. It scares me! I seem to have loads I want to get done before this little one arrives but the time is getting shorter and shorter!

I can't wait to meet them, but sometimes when dd wakes up the night and I feel so tired I do think to myself, better get used to this feeling! I am hoping breastfeeding goes better for me this time. Who knows.
