vq have now moved on to the millionaires shortbread ice cream and still no swiss.

This is a two fingers up to the GT I am having on Monday!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 11/08/2012 20:44

Ooohhh x post.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 11/08/2012 20:46

Thanks chunky I won't hurry to get it blown up then

Sophiathesnowfairy · 11/08/2012 20:52

swiss could be alls well that ends well, I think you are both wise to take it slowly.

I am glad you feel happier and I really hope it all works out for you all as a family. Sounds like the baby is tucked up cosy and warm and doing well so that is a great place to start from.

Xxxx

Chunkychicken · 11/08/2012 20:56

Wow Swiss drama drama drama. Good that you're feeling happier, glad he's owned up to causing the probs/his emotions got the better of him, think its prob best if you do both have some space to work out your issues & fingers crossed it'll all be settled soon!! :)

And thanks Valium. It was 10 totsbots plus various other nappies, plus bits & pieces (wraps, boosters, bin, liners etc) for £50. Not sure what variety of totsbots they were, as she didn't specify. Still not entirely certain about the whole reusable thing anyway, but thought that wasn't too bad price-wise.

ditsygem · 11/08/2012 21:09

nervous and Valium well done on your efforts filling up the last thread- I just read it to the end before moving onto here and it made me giggle Smile

Swiss I am so glad you are happier, and hopefully if it is meant to be you will work it out - just focus on keeping yourself and your DD and baby happy and healthy.

All this talk of ice cream really makes me want some, and there is some in the freezer calling me! but we have just have a chinese takeaway and my parents in law are here, so i think it will seem a bit piggy if I eat it now!

ValiumQueen · 11/08/2012 21:11

chunky so long as petrol and time do not push the price up too much I guess that is a fair deal, and it sounds as if it will give you a chance to try them, and if they do not work for you, you could sell them for about the same money. A selection is good as no nappy suits every baby. With washables you do not use nappy cream, so that is another expense saved.

swiss good to hear promising news, but be sure you are doing it because you want to, not because of what the psychic said. You need to follow your gut instinct and be realistic, especially as you are now on medication, which can impair judgement sometimes. Take it slow, and if he really means it he will do what it takes.

I want ice cream. Bad. Grr.

ValiumQueen · 11/08/2012 21:13

ditsy blame the baby!

rowingdowntheriver · 11/08/2012 21:19

swiss, that does sound positive. You must have been going through an emotional roller coaster these past few weeks. I hope everything works out well for your family

Peaky1 · 11/08/2012 21:25

It's great that you're happy with the way things are going Swiss. I really hope it works out the way you want it to Smile.

VQ - how will you be making your wipes? Detective got me thinking before about packet wipes and I'd like to look at all the options. I was very tempted by Cheeky Bums at the baby show but I ended up shying away from a decision.

mrswee · 11/08/2012 21:29

Hi all. wow another thread. I missed most of the last one!

I have been busy preparing for my interview for running the new department. My interview is monday.eeeeek.
Jesus, finding something to wear to an interview at short notice when you are heavliy pregnant is a total mare!! Specially when you don't get much time away from the toddler in your life.
Finally nailed it this morning and found a smart outfit which has made me feel more confident.

Had a consultant appointment on friday to go over all the tightenings.. I have an 'irritable uterus' matches the rest of me then! no surprise there! She said that if it causes me problems towards the end of my pregnancy, which is can do, then they would consider inducing me at 38 weeks... if I was suffering. I'd rather not do that but maybe I will be glad of it at the time.

wish me luck on monday, I am worried that the pregnacy elephant in the room will make things akward! The thing is I have to set up this department and I only have 3 months till I go off!

swiss lovely news, hope all goes well, I am sure it will.

ValiumQueen · 11/08/2012 21:36

Still at the planning stage. I was thinking of initially cutting up old towels and hemming them, and see how I get on. The fleece liners that come with the Little Lamb nappies are lovely and soft, so I may try and get something like that. I don't think it needs to be anything fancy. I don't like the feel of microfibre as it sets my teeth on edge. I might actually make my own fleece liners, and use the LL ones as wipes, as I find they crumple up and do not contain poo well. Lovely and soft, but with a less fluffy fleece the poo kinda peels off. These just absorb it. Yuck!

Passmethecrisps · 11/08/2012 21:48

swiss I am so glad you are feeling better and more positive. Whatever caused it you have regained some control which is what really matters.

Really need a wee but the cat looks so comfy curled up on my knee

MissMummy1 · 11/08/2012 21:51

Great news swiss - hope everything works out for you and all your hopes and dreams for your family come true xx it's amazing what a little time and space can do to make silly men think and realise what they're throwing away!

DH and I have possibly finally just come up with a girl's name! It's a little quirky and made up but I love it and the best bit is it was his idea!! We've had a definite boy's name agreed almost from day 1 but have been struggling like mad to think of anything if we're team pink.

izzybizzybuzzybees · 11/08/2012 22:25

Marking my spot :-)

StuntNun · 11/08/2012 22:29

Swiss taking a break and trying again seems a very sensible thing to do. I have a volatile relationship with my DH and we have had our tough times over the years but pregnancy is definitely one of the worst times relationship-wise. There are no rules, give it another shot and see how it goes. Fx for you both.

Detective I read that there was a growth spurt at 27-28 weeks so that could explain sudden weight gain.

I bought a bar of chocolate last week which was to be melted and used as decoration on a dessert for a dinner party. Dinner was postponed. I have just discovered that most of the bar was gone! DH had scoffed almost all of it! What it meant was that I finished the last of it. Pretty tasty. Funny how much more of a sweet tooth I have now. Mind you, I still don't say no to crisps I just eat chocolate as well Blush

I ended up buying a couple of new items of maternity clothing today. I thought I was done but not so sure. I bought two dresses from new look weeks ago (one is on Facebook) which I thought would be fine for work. I am now not so sure as I think they are a bit thin. I ended up with a pair of plain black trousers and a black wrap style dress. Both a but more my usual style. Usually at work I am all suits and heels - kids are going to see a different side to Mrs Passme next week!

horseylady · 12/08/2012 00:03

Omg how much talking lol!!!

Shattered but more comfortable after baby shifted himself from wherever he was sitting right in my right hip to somewhere more comfortable!!! Makes riding, standing, walking, sitting much better!! It just went pop and a release of pressure!!

Pram ordered by the mother :) so pleased with what we've gone for and the colour should be in store in 8 weeks!! Just need mattress, Moses stand and blankets!! It's all coming together!! Some
Someone is finally coming to take the bed so we can sort the babies room out and that's about it!!

Swiss - glad you're sorting it out. Just take your time and don't do anything because someone else said it! I'm sceptical of these types of people at the best if times, more so as people tend to go to then when emotionally vunerable and they can feed off it. However, that does not stop me wanting you and your dp together so I really hope he's scared and needed space. Big hugs!!

blonderthanred · 12/08/2012 00:11

Glad to hear your positive news Swiss. It's a testing time for any relationship and you need the support and a bit of stability.

Never even knew there was a Nappies section - just spent ages looking. How did I not notice Products before? A whole new world. That is interesting to read thanks. There were really good offers at the Baby Show on those, Tots Bots and others. Liked the fact they didn't have a cutesy name although I realise that's not the priority here!

Baby has been doing twisty triple somersaults with pike all evening watching Tom, Mo, Usain et al. Do you think it'll get excited any time it hears the Chariots of Fire theme after it's born?

GTbaby · 12/08/2012 00:17

Argh tight tummy again tonight. Just did a quick walk around tescos!

Glad ur happier Swiss Smile. Take it slow n try to talk honestly about everything.

H is doing my head in. Baby naming topic. Very long to explain. But I just wana bash him over the headAngry.

Iheartpasties · 12/08/2012 00:54

My word the thread moves fast when a new one springs up!

I cannot think about Chrimbo yet, I normally ordewr online and get it delivered to the UK so I'm not too worried. There is a possibility my ma and pa will be here with us in oz for Chrimbo day so we'll see.

Swiss I'm happy to hear you are happy and that is the main thing.

I'm not too sure if I will do disposable or re-usable nappies this time. I have a few in the cupboard, I will dig them out and think. I will most definitely be using re-usable wipes though! I'm tempted to make my own, I will have to google.

Iheartpasties · 12/08/2012 01:15

Rennies are my best friend, I have sick coming up the back of my throat all the time.

DebussyHead · 12/08/2012 02:55

Gosh this thread moves so fast I can't keep up! Just marking place Smile

SwissArmyWife · 12/08/2012 06:55

Thank you ladies, I wasn't sure about the psychic reading either, but my mum recommended her as she's had a fair few readings from her in the past and they've always been spot on. So I thought why not?
I'm just keeping an open mind at the moment, but am hoping we will be a happy family by the end of the year.

All this talk of reusable nappies is making me want them again!

horsey which pram have you gone for?

mrswee good luck with your interview tomorrow :)

I can't believe we're in august already!
I'm 27 + 2 now and growing steadily!

DesperateHousewife21 · 12/08/2012 07:29

Omg I can't keep up with all these posts!
