Glad you are ok stunt and welcome osterley, jaffa and bright. Sorry to hear about your work coming to an end missmummy - is there much temporary stuff around you could get til you qualify for maternity allowance?

The comments on cats made me smile as I have just sat through a lecture by my mum on the dangers of cats with babies - it is my third child and somehow the other two have come through unscathed!!

Had an embarrassing time in a painting/decorating shop today. Discovered the corners near windows smelt lovely and musty (my smell craving!) and tucked myself into one to have a good sniff while DH was choosing paint. A helpful salesman thought I was inspecting a strip of wall paper and was trying to drag me away to look at it in a sample book. He was a bit confused when I answered "no, I'm just sniffing it!

NervousAt20 · 20/08/2012 20:02

NervousAt20 · 20/08/2012 20:04

Looking on eBay at the baby next stuff and there's so many things on there that I brought at the next sale and there selling for 2 or 3 times what I paid Shock will deffo be going again at Christmas even if the early start is a killer!

Brockle · 20/08/2012 20:26

I think everyone worries about their bump detective but you are in an excellent position being in your possession. I would definitely invest in some newborn sized clothes Smile

the pizza was scrummy. We made the bases before we left for the cinema so we just needed to pile on the veg when we got back. So good.

Brave was brill. The triplets definitely gave my DS's ideas Grin

Brockle · 20/08/2012 20:31

sorry profession not possession!

kirrinIsland · 20/08/2012 20:43

Great news DH and stunt

Welcome bright

Sorry about the tutoring missmummy hope it all works out ok.

I have 3 dogs and have more trouble stopping DD bothering them than I have ever had from them. She's just a bit rough and doesn't understand she can hurt them, but they are really patient with her and they have an escape place if they need it. The only thing I did to prepare them was to stop them coming upstairs weeks before DD arrived so they didn't associate the change with her, but they've been fine with it all - some people are just doom and gloom about everything!

I have the midwife tomorrow and I think they are doing bloods with this one? I don't mind the actual procedure, it's the taking a number and waiting for an hour or so that bothers me!

WaitingForMe · 20/08/2012 21:01

I think you sniffing musty corners has been the funniest thing I've heard all day daisychain!

mrswee · 20/08/2012 21:05

Hello all

I'm supposed to be on holiday this week but because myself and my other team member both got the top and deputy job of this new department, suddenly there is no one to do our old job. So I've offered to cover his shift tomorrow while he goes away on business for the new job! I do get paid extra so will help next month as we are totally skint with two mortgages to deal with.

Then I have to go away on Wed to see how this department runs down south. An 8 hour round trip on the train.. that's going to be fun! I have never ever been away on business before!

CandyPop · 20/08/2012 21:43

Thanks for the tip nervous just joined now .... I'm determined to not pay for anything full price re baby stuff :)

Peaky1 · 20/08/2012 21:50

lol@musty smell fetish! DP has been painting the nursery and I have discovered that I LOVE the smell of paint. YUMMY!

I came off the smug cheerful wagon today and had a shitty day involving trying to keep too many big personalities at work sweet and failing miserably. That and a £240 insurance excess bill when I got home because I had to get my whole windscreen replaced due to 1 small chip that I reported within days of it happening and they couldn't repair it. After a week of talking myself out of the cost of a 4D scan for about £120 I've just had to produce £240 from nowhere instead. Fucking cars...

Oh and cats? TAKE MY NEIGHBOURS CATS! I don't own any but our backdoor has a cat flap that has broken. Next doors cats like to come in and then discover that they can't get back out again through the broken flap so they get stuck inside. Scared the shit out of me waking up to a cat staring at me! Aren't they supposed to be clever and learn a lesson? Yes, I should get a new cat flap that locks (cheaper than a door panel) but I keep putting that off and so I will whinge instead. So there. Or I could just block it with cardboard. I'll put it on the to-do list when I can be bothered. Oh and they keep shitting on my roses in the garden...though that might be a good thing..I've no idea. Oh, and one of them sits on our outhouse roof and stares me out every day through the kitchen window...judging me...(yes, I do pull faces back at it)

Tomorrow will be a meeting with the work colleagues that are at each others throats. Somebody pray for me.

Positive notes: last week full time then only 5 weeks left of 4-day weeks until I finish, YAY! DP just bought me some malteasers, YAY!

Otherwise - meh to the world for one day. Must wake up in better mood tomorrow.

ValiumQueen · 20/08/2012 21:57

peaky consider yourself prayed for Grin and your fighting colleagues.

TheDetective · 20/08/2012 22:41

Do you think they did notice MissMummy? Sounds strange timing to me, but I'm not sure how the maternity leave thing works when not employed.

Having strong braxton hicks tonight, not painful, just making me feel odd and light headed when they come, as if my brain is being tugged as well as my uterus!!

I didn't have them with DS! Not a twinge til labour and wondered what on earth they actually felt like. Now I know!

Baby is so active all the time now. It's as active, if not more active than DS, and he was bloody active!! I do have a regular pattern, which I noticed many weeks ago now. It's guaranteed to move when I go to bed, and when I wake up. It is fairly active when I am on nights, and it is active in the evenings. It is active in the day, even when busy, but not as guaranteed as the morning/night moving! And yes, when I'm on my side it gets even more mental! Sometimes it feels like it is just walking on the bed. Very strange!

Ooooh, forgot to add earlier... went for a shower, and knobhead next door was having a shouted conversation with dickhead guy doing drive. 'SEE YOU TOMORROW, SAME TIME?' I admit to childishly shouting 'No fuck off and don't come back' Blush. 15 minutes later after washing my hair, he is still there having the same fecking conversation in a shouty manner. ARGHHHHHH! I didn't shout will you just shut the fuck up and go at that point. I think my language is getting much worse these days Grin

I went to collect a baby swing through an eBay local selling site tonight, and thank goodness it was local. It was in awful condition! It looked good on the pictures! I had to walk away. Took balls from me! Usually would just pay and kick myself!

Back to the search!

TheDetective · 20/08/2012 22:55

Sorry, I mean an employee, not employed!

TitsalinaBumSquash · 21/08/2012 00:01

I can't sleep tonight, such bad back/hip ache!
I saw the mw today and I'm measuring a week behind so nothing major.
Baby is kicking so hard it really hurts now, right down low. little bugger

Iheartpasties · 21/08/2012 06:16

I've been cuddling my friends 5 week old! It was so wierd because my little bump was kicking her!

DesperateHousewife21 · 21/08/2012 07:28

This baby has got a regular pattern now, seems to be mostly when I first get up (and drink tea and eat biscuits!) then it snoozes on and off allay with movements every now and then.
Then she wakes up in the evening and lasts for what feels like all night, think she might be nocturnal when she arrives.

Got to go down the docs for half 8 this morning because that's the only way they'll give you a same day appt, stupid overrun surgery.
For some reason the consultant yesterday didn't give me another prescription for aspirin and I forgot to ask about it so I've got to go to the docs to get it, even though they have nothing to do with my ante natal care so prob won't know what to give me.

izzybizzybuzzybees · 21/08/2012 07:59

That's annoying DH. My surgery you can call for same day appt but need to start at 8am. Better than going down tho. You would think they could just prescribe it rather than make you go in as surely consultant writes to gp after you attend?

I have clinic at 9am today, kinda glad its morning appt as hoping they won't have had much time to run late! Will need to pee on demand when I get there as I have no sample jar. Shouldnt be too much of a problem!

Hope everyone is well!

MissMummy1 · 21/08/2012 08:10

Okay ladies - just to add to the piss pot debate, I've been pee on demand the last twice as my mw hasn't given me one. Time to get militant and demand one??

Thanks for all your support. I still don't think they've clocked I'm preggers but after the behaviour of the kid yesterday -his closing statement to me "just fuck off and die" about summed up the evening (he's 8 btw..) - it's kind of a blessing in disguise I won't be doing any work for them again any time soon.

Financially we've always found a way to cope when we hit a bump in the road. It's just a bit scary that our outgoings are huge in comparison to our student days. .. And we will soon have a new tiny person to be responsible for too!

WaitingForMe · 21/08/2012 08:22

I had a lovely cuddle with my friends newborn a couple of weeks ago Iheartpasties and mine was kicking her loads. So cute!

I'm shattered this morning. Baby is moderately active during the day then for two hours last night was flipping and kicking really hard every five minutes. Did he take micro naps? I can't believe he was awake for two whole hours! I fear I may be one if the zombie mums of haunted expression once he's born as he seems constantly on the go!

Evilwater · 21/08/2012 08:48

Hello everyone,
For pee pots, I get a fresh one every time. If I didnt, then I would just nick one from work.

Went to the GP yesterday, for my 31 week appointment. I was late but so was my GP, everything is fine. She also agreed that I'm so busy at work that I don't feel him, she also checked the heart and that was fine to. My iron level was a bit low bugs he said that was fine. I also mentioned about my constipation, so she has given me something for it.

'!!!!!!!!!!! TMI !!!!!!!!
Well I took this stuff, and i those pains I thought was BH wasn't. It was my bowels moving, any way I did this MASSIVE poo. I felt so much better afterward and my son agreed too. I have never produced one that big! It was like the size of a prem baby.

Evil

DebussyHead · 21/08/2012 09:32

Sorry to hear abouy your contract ending MissMummy these financial blows always find a way of hitting you just before babies arrive! With DD1 my husbands business went bust just 4 weeks before she arrived and it took over a year for him to get employment. 29 weeks now and just found out our mortgage deal is coming to an end in Sept so our payments will shoot up by £300 a month unless we find another mortgage lender and good deal. argh!

I am shattered today. Slept very badly as my hips get so sore after about 30 mins of lying on my side and I cant lie on my back at all now so just spend whole night rolling from one side to another and occassionally getting up and walking about to alleviate the leg panins and cramps! I remember this from last time, its rubbish. Then in work 8am-5pm and have to pretend I am a competent, awake professional when in fact I want to crawl under my desk and go to sleep. Sorry for moaning. Thursdays are my day off so just have to make it to Thurs when I can cat nap with toddler during day (if she lets me!).

ValiumQueen · 21/08/2012 09:48

Congratulations on the poo evil I bet you feel a lot better after that.

Well, I did the school run this morning. DH came with me as it is the first time I have done it with bump and break. Felt a bit woosy and like a skittle trying to dodge little bowling balls, but I managed it without falling over, crying or being sick. P2 already! It was sweet seeing the little P1s with parents and grandparents and cameras and complete school kit. I will take my stick with me this afternoon. I had tightenings whilst walking, then cramp in my broken leg when I got home, which was quite amusing.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 21/08/2012 10:12

I'm feeling a bit low today, the though of 12 more weeks of being pregnant is depressing the he out of me, I'm in so much pain. Sad
I'm going to try and focus on weeks at a time rather than the over all time until d day.

horseylady · 21/08/2012 10:28

Morning all. Another none sleeper here too but that's because I didn't eat until gone 9pm and went to bed about 10.30 so I was sick :(

Really worried about dh, fil and sil. Think there's going to be a huge upset. One of fil friends phoned sil last night, I think trying to make her come down. She then called dh at 1030 as we were going to bed basically to try to make herself feel better. Dh and I are doing all we can, she's doing nothing, she's been off work for 5 weeks and not been to see him. I understand why, he's very demanding but she can't keep calling us asking us to do more. I just don't know what to do.

Iheartpasties · 21/08/2012 10:29

tits hugs for you.
