sophia, of your list for boys I like Arthur best. I prefer to go for the less popular names but wouldn't let it stop you if you love Oliver. Of girls, I like Edith and Nancy, think I prefer Edith which can be shortened to Edie which I like. Mildred is nice but a bit similar to Matilda maybe? Good selection though! We wanted Betty for a girl, but it's another DS this time.

ShellyBobbs · 15/08/2012 23:03

Stunt Thanks, that's the website I was looking for.

I'm just starting with the fed up of being big thing. Another 13 weeks to go...... have even washed all the bedding, quilts and pillows to see if that will help me sleep cos hubby is a sweaty stinker.

Oh and I have an acne arse, no spots anywhere else just all over my arse!

Iheartpasties · 16/08/2012 00:11

It seems just this week that I feel massive, it's like I looked down one day this week and thought to myself 'omg!', my belly is huge, well it sfeels huge and heavy and it's making me tired again. I love the bigs kicks I get now but it all seems to be going too fast!!

Evilwater · 16/08/2012 04:25

Thanks about the info about the mucous.

Thanks about the info about the mucous.

I have put on a Load of weight, and I don't want to stand on any scales.
I'm tired all the time, and my feet love to swell , and my back aches a lot.
So much for eating healthly, I just don't really want it and when I do there is fruit to be found.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 16/08/2012 06:24

Thanks dixie your faves are the same as mine. Am finding it harder this time is ood to had some impartial advice!

ValiumQueen · 16/08/2012 07:29

sophia I think Mildred is too similar to Matilda. I like Edith, especially shortened to Edie. Nancy is a contraction of Agnes I believe.

Oliver and Arthur are lovely. I wanted Arthur, but it got vetoed.

Those worried about money, remember little one will bring in a bit with child benefit, and there may be Tax Credits to be had. You can call them up when your wage drops and they can adjust payments so you have it when you need it. Both of the couple need to be working a certain number of hours on average. If on mat leave you are still classed as working. The SMP is not actually counted as an income in relation to tax credits which can make a big difference. It is worth making a few enquiries now.

applepieinthesky · 16/08/2012 08:42

sophia I like Edith but I'm biased because it is my late Grandmother's name. She was known as Edie.

For boys I love Arthur and think it goes well with your other childrens names.

Chunkychicken · 16/08/2012 08:53

Saw Dark Knight Rises last night - baby spent the whole film acting like a jumping bean!! Currently kicking me a bit as DD is pressed against bump, sat on my lap. Can they get jealous antenatally??!!!

No milk yet, although the odd drip/crustiness so its there, just very grateful its not leaking (like with DD!!) Lots of mucous here though Blush

Our garage roof is going to cost more to do now so saving up the £4k we need to get through my maternity leave is going to be VERY hard :(

Ladies at my yoga class are starting to have babies/get close to due date. It's really strange, because I only started going 8 or 9wks ago, with barely a bump, and all these women had big bumps already!! Now I'm where they were & they'll be new ladies joining soon too. It all feels a bit real now!!! Shock

Elizadoesdolittle · 16/08/2012 08:58

sophia I like all your names. DD would have been Oliver had she been a boy but I've discounted it now for this one. I do still like it (Esp Olly as a nickname) but it is quite popular. Having said that I don't actually know of any! I really like Arthur. Editih is my fave in your list of girls names.

I thought we had a girls name sorted but don't think DH is 100% happy with it. I think he'd go along with it but will need to discuss it further. As for a boys name, well we don't have any! We have a break just the two of us in Marrakech in beg of September so that will be a good opportunity to knuckle down and sort them out.

I've got a busy weekend coming up so going to have an easy day. I didn't get much sleep last night and I seem to really feel it now after a couple of busy days. Plus DH is off to Spain on Sunday for 3 nights so will be home alone for a bit next week. Will have to pack DD off to bed early so I can get some relaxing evenings in!

applepieinthesky · 16/08/2012 09:05

I fell asleep in the cinema when I went to see Dark Knight Rises Blush

I got barely any sleep last night because my legs and feet really ached. I felt like I had walked about 20 miles but I had been sitting at a desk most of the day. Anyone else had this? Is it where baby is laying or just because I?m carrying a lot of extra weight now? I have borrowed my manager?s footstool today at work so hope they won?t be so bad tonight.

27 weeks tomorrow so into the third trimester according to some and it is definitely starting to feel like it.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 16/08/2012 09:42

Thanks everyone, is good to have a bit of feedback as DH won't discuss until we know what it is so IMO that will be on DDAy!

I have just done a terrible thing. You know how your pelvic floor gets a little loose? Well, I was just walking behind a colleague sitting at his desk at work and I couldn't stop a little fart coming out! Blush

I AM MORTIFIED!

I am hoping he thought it was one of those shoe fartsGrin

FatimaLovesBread · 16/08/2012 09:47

Finally caught up on the thread and now i don't know what to write.

DH and I are no where near picking names, he keeps saying we've plenty of time. And I dont want people to know what we decided on beforehand so I suppose there's less chance of letting it slip. We'll probably write a short list and decide when it's here.

I've got bump ache today. Bent over earlier and got a sharp pain. Now it's a bit achey and I've got a bit of lower back ache. I presume it's having a growth spurt.

jaylee89 · 16/08/2012 10:14

well last night at 22:29 my sister had a beautiful baby girl weighing 7lb 14 oz and she is perfect. my sister was amazing and done everything naturally, she had few puff on G&A but didnt like it so never had anythig for the pain.

when i walked into the birthing suite after she gave birth she looked like she had just woken up i couldnt believe it she defiantly didnt look like she had just given birth. Shock

applepieinthesky · 16/08/2012 10:22

Congrats to your sister Jaylee Smile

We have a first and middle name sorted. Trouble is everyone keeps asking if we have chosen names and I have to lie and say no. I?m not a very good liar. I don?t like the idea of everyone knowing his name before he?s here though ? apart from you ladies of course Grin

We settled on Cassius weeks ago and have now decided on the middle name Yohan. Both are just names we love, there is no special significance. I like that both are uncommon but not completely unheard of. Yohan seems very appropriate given that baby will be born in an Olympic year as well.

I don?t particularly care if people don?t like it either so it must be the right name. It feels right.

MissMummy1 · 16/08/2012 10:35

Congrats Jaylee!

We've been sorted on a boys name for ages - like you apple don't want to tell rl people as most people we know are opinionated bastards incase we change our minds. You guys are different though, so if we're team blue he'll be Aulay Nathan (after fil) Angus (after my grandad and the area of scotland we loved when we conceived

MissMummy1 · 16/08/2012 10:36

Stupid phone!

jaylee89 · 16/08/2012 10:37

awww apple those names are lovely. i see what you mean about telling people the name you have picked out. there are quite a few people down my daughters school who are pregnant and ask me if i have any names i tell them no because i know they are due before me and some are having girls also so i dont want them to take my name lol. is that crazy?

me and DH cannot compromise on a name at the moment and it really is hard. we had a name picked out if it was a boy but not a girl (for the fact we were conviced it was a boy) but im sure when she arrives we will know exactly what names suits her best :D

(27+4)

ShellyBobbs · 16/08/2012 10:39

Congrats on the new baby :)

Well I've picked Effie Poppy for a girl (had to have Poppy due to the November remembrance) and Tommy (still thinking of a middle name) for a boy. Tommy is an old name on hubby's side.

Any suggestions on a middle name?

Apple I'm the same as you, I don't care if people don't like it either.

eversomuch · 16/08/2012 11:06

Haven't checked in here in ages and my DD now has the chickenpox so I don't have loads of time today, but did want to pop in and say hello.

Congrats on the new niece, jaylee. How lovely.

Wonderful to hear so many of you have decided on names. DH and I are still working on it. Boys' names are def harder than girls' names, I think. I have a couple of favourites that DH isn't crazy about and vice versa. Spent some time last night looking at the 2011 baby names statistics that were just released. (www.ons.gov.uk/ons/publications/re-reference-tables.html?edition=tcm%3A77-266770) With more than 6000 boys' names on that list, I figure there must be one that we will both agree on.

Otherwise, doing fine. Am 28+1 now; going for GTT on Monday bc DS's abdominal circumference is still measuring large. Other measurements seem average, so I suspect he just has the same appetite everyone in this family does and is eating like an army. At Tuesday's scan his weight was estimated at 2lb 11oz.

ShellyBobbs · 16/08/2012 11:17

Can't believe how much our little ones weigh already. I'm still finding it hard to believe that this one is bigger than a pencil Grin Although my aches and pains tell me otherwise as does my belly!

Chunkychicken · 16/08/2012 11:52

I've set my heart on a girl's name now but not sure DH is as keen and don't know its a girl, so feeling a bit Confused about the whole thing!! Have narrowed down to a few boys & girls names too though.

Congrats Jaylee lovely news.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 16/08/2012 11:55

I can't wait to see little one on the 4D scan on Sat, I really hope he's going to play ball and let us see something other than his back/bottom!

My DS1 & 2 are acting like they've been on speed today, so hyper it's slightly soul destroying how badly I'm coping with it. I think it's combined with the worry of DP's job. He's been headhunted by a v. high profile company but the job will mean a much longer commute so we won't see him much Sad but it will mean more money and it will look fab on the cv.

DesperateHousewife21 · 16/08/2012 12:15

Congrats to your sister jaylee

Ds and I had a nap on the sofa at about half 9, v early for him to fall asleep but that's what happens when he wakes up at half 5!

Going over to my sisters house today, need to get out the house it's far too dull!

applepieinthesky · 16/08/2012 12:58

I think it?s lovely to use family names but I worry that if I name him after someone in my family or DP?s family the other family will feel left out. Plus I just don?t like many of the names!

MissMummy I had never heard of Auley before but I like it. Cally is nice as well and it?s great that all the names you have chosen have a special meaning to you.
