No cramps or spotting today and felt much better so didn't go to dr, they only have half day at my GP surgery today so thought if I had any bad symptoms today I'd get an appt tomorrow.
Thanks for telling me that gummi I just dug out my pg book and read up about rhesus negative and it said exactly the same as you Grin
Is anyone else having pain when walking or lying on either side? My hip bones feel like they're on fire if I lean on them and where my backbone connects to my pelvis it feels like it needs to pop and hurts when I walk. I got hardly any sleep last night because of it all! Am I being an over worrying first timer? Wink

HermioneBoo · 22/08/2012 17:13

Oh and amazing news shield and turkish :)

KFFOREVER · 22/08/2012 17:16

Just saying hi. Havent posted in a while been too overwhelmed with everything. Had my booking in appointment today and have lots of bedtime reading to do. Thats if I stay away. My sickness seems to have come back again. grrr.

congrats to those who had a scan and seen their jumping been.

Turkish- are you really Turkish? (Its ok if you don't want to say im just being nosy).

pinkpeony4 · 22/08/2012 18:38

Great news Turkish & Shieldbug.

Zoey really sorry to hear about your hyper mobility. It must be good to finally get an explanation for everything and hopefully they can give you a good treatment plan for this pregnancy. I really hope the stitch lets you go longer this time. 2lbs is such a tiny baby. Were they both that size? How long did they spend in hospital?

I am another who loves the bake off. That raspberry cake sounds amazing. My sister gave me a reciepe for a coconut & mango cake which l

pinkpeony4 · 22/08/2012 18:39

Sorry on phone which is even worse than the iPad!!!

Anyway, going to try that cake, it looks amazing!

Tramp ds1 has a friend called Inigo. I love it too.

I hope everyone else is ok

lannyshrops · 22/08/2012 18:44

Cake!!! I have a cake bake-a-thon this weekend. The weekly bake, a birthday cake for a friend on Monday and one for the IT guys in work which was promised to them for doing some jobbets for me!

It's chocolate for the birthday cake, but open to suggestions for others...

Can't believe it's hump day today, Yippee!!!! Only 2 more to go untill a three day weekend. Bliss! Anyone have any nice plans?

HaitchJay · 22/08/2012 18:56

you didn't talk as much as yesterday!

Zoey- I have hyper mobility though not bad but some in my spine and my spinal didn't work with dd1 but did withdd3. He put it in lying down rather than bending over and said it holds the spine more stable. Might be worth discussing with an anaesthetist if you can ?

pipsicles · 22/08/2012 19:39

Wow, that sounds like a bit of a bombshell today, Zoey, I hope there are some options and treatment that will make your life easier, both in pregnancy and beyond.

Great news about the scan Turkish and your new niece? Nephew? shieldbug!

I forgot to mention earlier when talking about bras that I made the massive mistake last week of buying some beautiful Elle McPherson maternity bras, albeit for £5 each at Cheshire oaks (reduced from £41 each!!!) only to grow further, literally overnight only two or three days later, after I'd taken the tags out and worn them both! I should have known I would probably get bigger, seeing as I have done this all before, but no, I was too mesmerised by the pretty colours, sexy design and cheap price! Now we're back in Surrey and we're not planning on being back up there until after the baby is born :( maybe I could convince my MiL to pop in for me?!

All the NT scan talk has prompted DH and I to have a chat about how we feel about it all again. We came to the same conclusions as last time, but it was good to talk about it and know we both feel the same about our options and potential outcomes etc. thank you to all you lovely ladies for sharing your various views and attitudes - it has really helped us make a well rounded and (we feel) well informed decision.

Thanks for the cake! Yummy! I haven't baked in ages, and my regular baking sessions have definitely curtailed since DS being around! My favourite (and most time consuming) recipe is for chocolate beetroot cake. It tastes divine and always goes down well! Peach and raspberry sounds fab! I may have to look that one up too! Hungry for cake now!

Before I go, I had a bit of a milestone today...no nausea! Grin 11+4 and desperately hoping this is the start of a new thing! Fingers crossed!

Sheldonella · 22/08/2012 19:48

This is the peach and raspberry www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/11266/peach-melba-squares

confuddledDOTcom · 22/08/2012 20:48

Just going to catch up, thought I'd just say that I've had my 12 week scan which puts me at 12+1, same as the last scan, and nub theory suggests a girl!

theTramp · 22/08/2012 20:56

Blimey, excitement all round!

Funnylittleturkishdelight · 22/08/2012 21:31

Thanks everyone!

Another one for liking Inigo- very pretty and unusual!

And I'm not Turkish- but this little baby was conceived in Turkey on holiday (tmi? Far tmi??) and on our eight week scan was just a little jelly bean, and I said that he/she looked like a piece of Turkish delight! And now we just call the baby Turkish!

So sorry to hear about your hypermobility, Zoe. I hope that the pain relief will help and new treatments are being developed all the time and I hope they find something that helps and works for you.

Nearly all neausea gone now! I've been so luck that Mr Turkish has taken over the housework whilst I've been gagging at every smell- but I'll be glad to do some again so it's up to standard again...

How is everyone else's morning sickness?

Oh and I can't remember who asked- but my back hip also hurts!

sundaesundae · 22/08/2012 21:34

My hips have been VERY sore today, bit worried, I had quite a big hip op 18 months ago, but I was on crutched for over a year before hand and was pretty immobile.

I am still nauseous, boo! My boobs have massive blue veins but my nipples are smaller (TMI)

I have also had a bit of heartburn today, I never ever get this!

HermioneBoo · 22/08/2012 21:59

Hyper mobility sounds awful Zoe, is it manageable at all?
My hip soreness seems very minor now, I hope everything improves for you Zoe and Sundae
It's my bf 30th this weekend and we're going bowling - cue DH googling whether I should be bowling whilst pregnant and finding loads of horror stories, he's completely freaked out now and is finally listening to my advice to not believe everything he finds on google!

backwardpossom · 22/08/2012 22:00

Have just sat down for the first time since, well, I went to bed last night! Shattered.com... Sort of caught up, but have no forgotten what you've all said! DH's birthday today, so I cooked Jamie Oliver's chicken pie (from the 30 minute meals book) as it's his favourite, and one of my favourites too. We have cake now. Grin Work was exhausting, off to bed in a mo...

OP posts:
Funnylittleturkishdelight · 22/08/2012 22:29

Oooo backward, that chicken pie sounds soooooo good. I want a chicken pie so much now.

Did you get the recipe on his app? I have the 20 minute meal one, and some of the 30 minute ones.

confuddledDOTcom · 22/08/2012 22:32

Pipsicles, I?m 5?9? too and used to work for LTS. I was a little on the short side there but the best thing was the fit in the body even if I had to turn up legs on some trousers.

Yay for dildo cams, zoey! I?m not sure when they?ll start it this time. The first two was 20 to 24 weeks, last time was 16 or 18 weeks to 24 weeks. I don?t think I actually go many weeks in pregnancy after they start dildo cam without someone sticking something in my vagina! I get to 24 weeks, the scans stop and the contractions start with VEs or dry speculums (the gel stops fibronectin tests working properly) and that?s every 2-3 weeks usually Confused I have a Doula friend who has HMS, she?s suffered badly from that and PGP (which is another complication of the condition) I believe she has had natural births, if you?d like me to ask if she?s willing to talk to you, let me know. I have to have GAs too because there is nerve damage where the needle would go in so it wouldn?t send the signal to block off feeling. I?ve had two and decided I?d prefer to avoid it if possible last time and this time will be the same. Have you ever looked at Fibromyalgia? It?s another one that they think I have.

Hermione, sounds like you have PGP.

Took my eldest to my scan, she didn?t know I was pregnant before then and was rather reserved about the scan (she?s a diplomat) but once we got out of there and she realised that yes that really was a baby and I showed her the nub that shows it?s probably a girl she got really excited. We then went to see Brave with her similar age cousin. Guess what we?re calling the baby...

backwardpossom · 22/08/2012 22:47

No funny I bought the book a while ago - it's got some brilliant, easy recipes in it! A lot of them I'll never make, but it has been worth it for the few I do :) Night all x

OP posts:
theTramp · 22/08/2012 22:49

I have had no nausea for 5 days and last night it returned a bit and today it is properly back. I am thinking Jasmine tea and pasta are triggers. This means sticking to mashed potato and rice.

Gah.

Also the bloody fuse box has blown so we have no power. It will get fixed tomorrow, but this means no hot shower in the morning. I am not a happy bunny.

thank goodness I horde candels and tea lights.

Funnylittleturkishdelight · 22/08/2012 23:13

Backward I'll have to look it up as I love Jamie's recipes- so easy!

I have resolved to go and get some chicken pie tomorrow. I need it in my life! Gastropub dinner for me!

HermioneBoo · 23/08/2012 07:32

Thanks confuddled I just looked up PGP and it sounds very familiar!
I've not had much nausea at all the past couple of days, though I have read that it can disappear at 10 weeks only to come back with a vengeance so I'm eating like a horse until it comes back!

JoJoBella84 · 23/08/2012 07:46

tramp I have a similar pattern with my nausea. I feel fine most of the week now, but 2-3 days I still have a good vom!!
This morning is especially bad. Think it's the exam nerves... Will be back in bed by 11.30. This is not a good day for testing my brain :(

mandasand · 23/08/2012 07:56

Exam today, JoJo? Good luck! Thinking of you.

Turkish love the fact your baby was conceived in Turkey! Much more exciting and romantic than 'on one of our every-other-day shag me after which I'll stick my legs in the air' sessions at home, as is the case with us! That said, some of our TTC sessions were very good? Now, that's TMI no doubt!

Sorry to Zoey and others who have had crappy news.

Sarah I too have a v-e-r-y old black cape type winter coat from 1993 (!!!) which I occasionally dig out. It's useless on the bike so I rarely wear it, but it's going to be great for the bump (for a bit anyway - am sure I'll outgrow it! Thanks for the inspiration!

Feeling a bit weak and feeble yesterday and today. Partly because book deadline is looming and I'm nowhere close to finishing. Partly because, well, I'm just shattered. And partly because I'm just nervous of the scan and screening on Saturday. Been reading all the screening threads ? noooooo ?. why do I do that to myself? We don't know anything yet. Sigh.

Is there a slice of cake left for me? Don't mind if it's a bit stale. Be nice with a Brew

sundaesundae · 23/08/2012 07:59

Morning all! Good luck for your exam JoJo!

manda, there best be cake left, I want some too!! I am sure the screening will be fine,

Were your twins naturally conceived, do you have them in your family?

zoeymlucas · 23/08/2012 08:22

Thanks everyone for your support cheered me up up alot and in a much better place today, there are people alot worse and going through some awful things so in the scheme of things its not that bad and theres nothing I can do to 'not have it' so best to just accept and take it step by step.
Pinky my DS1 was 2lb and in hospital for 7 weeks and DS2 was born at 33 weeks and was a whooping 4lb 8oz (thats huge compaired to first) and was in hospital 4 days - needed no medication no oxygen or anything and was demand feeding in 24 hours of being born :)
Congrats on those starting to get over the sickness - its much needed and we can all turn into those radiant, blooming pregnany people we are suppose to be Wink
THanks for the receipe sheld cant wait to try it out - I love baking and even made my friend 100 wedding cupcakes the other week - however havent actually been able to make any since as its put me off, lol!
If you dont mind me asking sundae what hip op did you have done? I have have bi latural femeral ostotemies (and I cant bloody spell it).

NO confuddled I havent yet looked into any of the related illness's or other stuff - I decided to step away from Dr Google yesterday as I was making myself feel even worse so thought it best to go home have a melt down - nothing new with my hormones and then suck it up and accept it and look at it when its sunk in a bit more step by step rather than looking at everythng scaring myself to death and panic'ing. Got to love Dildo cam when you get to pick your condom , lol!! Luckily with my incompetant cervix my consultant dont let me have speculums when pregnant, so every cloud and all - he says as he scans me so often and knows me (was under him for previous 2 DC) he knows what normal for me so what signs to look for

Good luck onn our exam today Jojo I am sure oyu will be fine and will pass with flying colours x x
