Stupid, stupid, stupid phone. Sorry, didn't mean to post twice Blush

NobbyD · 20/08/2012 14:38

Afternoon all. I am now at that stage in the day where I think I have eaten enough for the nausea to subside and be able to function normally - so mumsnet it is Grin.

backward I too pee at least once a night, if not two or three times. I am hoping that wears off quick as am just so tired! DH resorted to sleeping in spare room as got fed up with me waking him all the time.

Kirsty ditto with the hair. It's so very embarrassing. I have it coming up on my belly again. Last time my bump was like a big hairy ball. It's very embarrassing when you have to lift your top for scans Blush. Think it'll be another ds for me too!

Zooey does sound like a comedy fall but glad all is ok!

MrsR Sorry to hear having troubles with ds's. I am def finding I have a shorter fuse with my ds. He is actually such a good boy I never need to get annoyed with him but with me battling nausea through most of the day, just him taking so long to put his socks on irritates me. I am sure once passed this slumpy period the ds's won't seem so much hard work.

Hermione I too am rhs negative. I had an injection last time and one after delivery (I think - I was a bit preoccupied to remember!) and this time it's not been mentioned.

Things in my camp are well. Still fighting off the nausea with eating horrendous amounts of food. Clothes are definitely tighter - going on hols next week (only to Wales, no where exotic) and all my holiday gear is a tad on the tight side!

Scan tomorrow so I can finally know the EDD. My app and midwife maintain its 8 March but I am thinking it'll come back much later than that tomorrow, which won't help with my hope of the nausea wearing off soon!

MrsRigby · 20/08/2012 15:00

Aaghhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa I can't use the downstairs bathroom because there's a wasp flying around in there. I'm going to have to use the upstairs bathroom until DH gets home.

zoeymlucas · 20/08/2012 15:05

LOL cant you just swat it? I am allergic to wasps so have to admit I run like a little girl when one is in a mile of me my defence is that little critter could kill me

shieldbug · 20/08/2012 15:20

mrsR put a little jam in the bottom of a lidded container, leave it in there, wait for silence, go in and put the lid on. Actually at this time of year wasps aren't at their most aggressive so you're probably ok anyway.
Here's a thought- give one of your ds the instructions and let them get on with it- keep them occupied for a while Grin. On further reflection, perhaps not!

tedmundo · 20/08/2012 16:25

lexi and newyears .. Wonderful news on your scans. Only 5 days until mine and I just want an A OK about it all too. FX FX FX

MrsR .. DH and I have both confessed we are worried what people will (privately) be saying about our decision to have number 3. Our boys are full on, confident, bossy leader types and pretty much dominate proceedings at parties / meet ups. Not the clinging to mummy types that seem to be the norm in our group! I try to see them as spiritied, but I know others (including me sometimes) see them as right little bollox.

BUT .. Self confidence is so, so important and your boys seem to have it in droves. And that will be invaluable to them in later life. It is easier to control a larger than life personality than it is to try to build up a shy type in adulthood. And that is a psychologists view, told to me when I voiced my concerns!

PS Bin the pens. That'll learn 'em!!! Hahahah!

tedmundo · 20/08/2012 16:26

And no advice on the wasp situation ... I *^%#ing hate them!

Em2010 · 20/08/2012 16:38

MrsR Hope you've sorted out that wasp. Can you send one of the boys in to open the window so it flys out? Not long 'till they are back at school now....

Yay! Happy news for scans today. Glad to hear of dancing beans.

Oh Zoey really sorry to hear about your incident. Hope you're feeling better and getting plenty of rest... and that you've managed to get the blood out of your white trousers!

Not much to report here. Absolutely shattered and feeling slightly sick. Don't know what i'm doing at work really, i'm neither use nor ornament as the saying goes....

Been getting very stressed, first because I paint my nails all the time and then last night, after i'd done my normal Sunday coat, I stupidly looked up the nail polish on Google and found out about all the birth defects and other horror stories that nail polish chemicals can cause. Good old dh pulls out his ipad and does his own research, which is basically that most of the nail polishes I use are free of the worst chemicals and that the quantities involved in the nail hardeners were so small as to probably have no effect whatsoever.... didn't stop me worrying though.... Then I started worrying about my parents. My father has a degenerative disease and dm is his carer, but it's really getting her down at the moment. Added to this they are in the process of moving house and to quote dh, who is in the trade, 'they are getting absolutely stitched' at both sides of the chain. Sorry to go on. In good news though my bf who was having ivf called the other day to say it's worked!!!! I am so thrilled for her. Hoping it's a good omen for your DB Tiddly.

tiddleypompom · 20/08/2012 17:00

Lovely news em (about your bf), my db and sil find out tomorrow so fx... Sorry to hear of your dad though, and your DM being so tired, it must be such a tough job but one for which I have the utmost admiration. Your news will no doubt be helping their spirits.

Am sitting in the sun on a hill behind the house. feeling shattered and sick but lucky and happy. No wasps here but many many moles under me, if the hills are anything to go by...

Lexiindisguise · 20/08/2012 17:18

Everything crossed for scans still to come!
Ems I read about the nailpolish and hair dye too as I am such a girl where it comes to beauty treatments. As your DH says a lot of the chemicals have now been removed; and also any studies showing risks tend to be for hairdressers & manicurists etc who handle and inhale these products all day, every day - quite different to the amounts the average person would be exposed to! So hope that reassures.
Sorry to hear about your parents...sounds really tough, so awful that they are getting stitched up too :( People can be awful!

Just had a hard conversation with a good friend who has had 2 miscarriages - she guessed I was pregnant and I've just had her crying about how unfair it is - I feel really guilty and don't know what I could have done as ultimately I can't hide my pregnancy much longer but I really didn't want to upset her so much.

MrsRigby · 20/08/2012 17:19

Not having the best of days here in the Rigby household.

First there was inkypengate;
Then there was waspgate;
And now I give you sugargate.

Yes, I'm making a lovely soup (usually it is, I can't vouch for tonights little effort) and instead of the 2 teaspoons of sugar it calls for, I have added 2 fucking tablespoons. Tablespoons I tell you BlushAngry

To add to all this, the boys have really done a number on the house and I just haven't got the energy to clean at the moment. There is also a bit of washing up to be done, but if I dissapear to the kitchen for 15 minutes christ knows what these 2 little demons will do to the place.

Suffice to say, when DH gets in, he will not be impressed.

JoJoBella84 · 20/08/2012 17:29

mrsR can you ask them to tidy or will that not be helpful??!

MrsRigby · 20/08/2012 17:30

zoeymlucas I have never been stung by bee or wasp and intend to stay that way. Besides with a bit of luck I can watch DH get stung tonight and then I really will be LOLing Grin

There's just something about other people getting hurt that makes me immensly happy. I'm fucked up, I know.

DH once broke his big toe or something and asked me to call him an ambulance. I stood at the ambulance saying "DH is an ambulance, DH is an ambulance". I almost wet myself. I never did call him an ambulance.

On another occasion, in work, they were showing a health and safety video of people getting accidentally electrocuted, slipping and being hit by filing cabinet drawers etc and I laughed so hard I fell of the chair and I'm ashamed to say a little bit of wee

Funnily enough they've never shown that video since.

Also, I've almost given my nan a heart attack (she's dead now - nothing to do with me) by jumping out of a blanket chest when she was just waking up and shouting boo.

I might also have put my brother in a suitcase, zipped it up and thrown both him and it down the stairs.

MrsRigby · 20/08/2012 17:39

shieldbug a little bit of wee has just come out Blush Grin

I must confess, once a wasp came into the living room and I left DS1 in it and closed the door. I walked back in after 5 minutes as I was worried DS1 might escape out the window (sash windows in this house), but thankfully the wasp did instead.

MrsRigby · 20/08/2012 17:42

em2010 no window in the downstairs bathroom, which does pose the question, how did the fucking thing get in in the first place?

MrsRigby · 20/08/2012 17:47

Shit, I've just read em2010 post about nail polish. I had a pedicure before finding out I was pregnant and it never occurred to me. I shall be asking DH to bring some nail polish home with him tonight.

Bollocks, bollocks, bollocks.

When I first found out I was pregnant I had a dream that I killed my child.

MrsRigby · 20/08/2012 17:49

JoJoBella84 they don't do anything I ask them - where is the crying emoticon?

MrsRigby · 20/08/2012 17:50

Er, stood by the ambulance should read, stood by the bathroom door.

pinkpeony4 · 20/08/2012 18:37

Lexi & newyearsday congrats on good scans Smile

mrsR glad you are feeling more positive. I have days with my boys where I feel I shout all day. They go to bed and I just feel horribly guilty about how awful I am. Talking to friends shows me I'm not alone and it's just that they can test patience. I bought a fab book which has an excellent, common sense section on discipline based on age. I can't remember how old your boys are but it's for children under 6. It's this one Three day nanny it has really helped me a lot and made me feel a lot more in control.

Sorry that I can't do any more personals but I am away this week and typing this on an iPad which I find really hard! I had a call from the midwife today and they have booked me in with the home birth team. All appointments are at home which is a first for me and a million times easier! There are 3 midwives in the team and you get to meet them all. Close to your due date they have a tea party for other home birth mums due the same time! It's my first home birth (all being well) is anyone else planning one?

Hope everyone else is ok. Looking forward to hearing more scan news. Whose next?

pinkpeony4 · 20/08/2012 18:38

Ps. I have highlights and pedicures and have done throughout all my previous pregnancies too. I am sure that the risk is v low.

MrsRigby · 20/08/2012 18:54

pinkpeony4 DS1 is 4 in November and DS2 is 2 in October. I'm planning a homebirth this time too. I tried to have a homebirth with both DS1 and DS2, but unfortunately my contractions weren't strong enough and the midwifes were worried that they were in distress, so I ended up in hospital. The midwife I saw at my booking in appointment is a big fan of homebirths and thinks I'll have no problem this time though.

HermioneBoo · 20/08/2012 19:40

Thank you very much everyone for your advice re RhD- question, I have got a few pregnancy books so will do my reading tonight but it's always nicer to just ask someone isn't it?
I've been offered home birth but I'm really not sure I'd be happy doing that for my first, my local hospital is all brand new and I have a few friends that were really happy with how they were treated at this hospital. I think if I don't like it on the ward there's nothing stopping me coming home 6 hours after delivery, that's the only bit I'm worried about - sharing a ward with others when I'm sure all I want to do is come to terms with everything afterwards. What are your experiences?

MrsRigby · 20/08/2012 19:44

DH is now home and as predicted, is not impressed with the state of the place.

I regret telling him in a txt 'love you' now. Everytime I say it or act it, he is immediately nasty towards me. So now I rarely say it and he says it bothers him and keeps asking me if I love him. I don't know if I do any more.

Still, at least bastards 1 and 2 are in bed. No more of them until tomorrow Grin Grin Grin
