We're on safari with the labour spotting signs... How long till the next baby arrives?

Pull up a birthing ball, sup some raspberry leaf tea and tuck into the 'big boy pineapple balti'. We're on the home straight!

Hello all,

Just a wee wave to you all and hoping your days have ended better than they started! Had my hair cut today and got so hot when she was blowdrying it! Also went swimming with DH which was lovely, but almost couldn't get out of the pool as the bump felt SOOOO heavy! It was nuts.

Frilly, sounds promising! Oooh, exciting!

Love you must post as much as you want to. It's a crap thing that's happening and we're your friends on here. So rant away, don't bottle it up.

My positive for what's left of today: have a relaxing night and enjoy the lovely sunshine that's finally here. 39+1 today!!

Hugs to all x

NeedlesCuties · 09/08/2012 19:11

frilly your show shows just like the one I had a few days before DS was born :) Sounds promising!

(37+6)

frillylemons · 09/08/2012 19:14

Thanks Smile

Needles, how many weeks were you?

NeedlesCuties · 09/08/2012 19:23

I had DS at 39 weeks exactly, so I must have been around 38+5 or something like that. He was born in Feb 2010, so I can't quite remember, but it defo was a few days before he was born :)

eightieshopaholic · 09/08/2012 19:27

Sounds like most of us going over!! and had enough!!

Had my mw apt today, asked her to check how engaged I was she said 4/5th I asked if this was good she said bump still seems high so thinks will go way over!! great!! I have consultant apt next wed when will be 40+3.

On a positive note its my last day at work tomorrow, all I had from boss today was can't believe your leaving you always said you didn't want kids!! Real funny with me all day oh well one more day oh and she's organised a nite out for the 24th of Aug and can't understand why I have said not going arrhhh!!!

hamncheese · 09/08/2012 20:08

My bump was still really high up until when he was actually emerging and was only 1/5 engaged when I went into labour so here's hoping it doesn't mean you will be lots over eighties

Come on babies!!

Anyone who's had before... Any advice for 1. Hemhorroids that are ridiculously painful and don't ease with anusol hc 2. The feeling as if the whole of down there is going to fall off. It's bad and I can't sit for long which is making it problematic for feeding :(

eightieshopaholic · 09/08/2012 20:31

Thanks Ham

My partner has bought me a exercise ball tonight, do you sit on or bounce on??? also how high should your knee's come.

Operation eviction is on, apart from the sex side partner says too pregnant and as consultant said last week she could feel baby's head this has freaked him out lol!!

susiegrapevine · 09/08/2012 20:42

Ham no tips for the bottom end but if you are finding it difficult to feed sitting. Lie on your side on your bed. Lie baby on his side next to you and latch him on. Very relaxing way to feed especially at night time as you don't have to sit up or hold onto baby, he will be safe on the bed even if you dose off for a bit. Hope this helps.

Vinolover · 09/08/2012 20:50

Marmite you post and moan away. I'm sorry to say but your mother really does sound like a horror! I cannot believe she kept that information from you!

Frilly that does sound very promising, especially coupled with period pain and back pain :)

Eighties I really don't think it makes too much difference with how engaged they are because my first was as far down as he could possibly get and I was still induced with him!

I have my sweep tomorrow and I'm so worried she's going to say she can't do it becuase I'm not ready etc :( Must be positive!!!!

justine09x · 09/08/2012 21:13

omg frilly so glad u posted about this mucus thingy lol, well I had a tax rebate this week and kids are with family for a week ....woohoo!! anyway me and dh went into Birmingham and I went to the loo and had same thing, Ive had a lot of discharge in last few weeks but this was definately a lot more than that sorry for TMI, it was kinda like if u have a really really bad cold and u blow u nose it was rather grim!!! I live in hope would be sooo nice not to worry about kids being here during homebirth so please baby come this week!!

Last baby came at 38 weeks, and I am officially 37 weeks at midnight lol so please say it was my show!!!

MrsMigginslovespies · 09/08/2012 21:21

Eighties, I bounce, roll about and also just sit on mine. Your hips should be higher than your knees. I've also seen that if baby is under your ribs as mine is, you can go on all fours and sort of roll your top onto the ball. I find this not that comfy as my boobs are in the way, but I can see how it would open up your back and ribcage for more room. Enjoy bouncing!

MrGeresHamster · 09/08/2012 21:26

MrsMiggins the boob thing can be avoided by rolling the ball into you do that your boobs are flattened rather than laid on. Wink

Needles hope you are feeling better now?

Lovemarmite your mum sounds worse and worse by the minute. Hope you're ok? Sounds like DH is v supportive which is fab. Def try and ignore now and concentrate on your lil one like you said. Some people are just not worth agnonising over, even if (unfortunately!) they're related or your mum!

Frilly any update? Sounds like all is kicking off!?

Weeki - When my waters broke with dd it was a trickle and I couldn't really push more out. Then after 4 and a half hours all of a sudden it was like a balloon burst and the water just exploded all over me Blush

Hoep you;re all surviving in this heat?

MiniPopsMum2012 · 09/08/2012 21:48

How's everyone's bumps doing? Hope you're all coping ok in the heat.. :)

MrGeresHamster · 09/08/2012 21:48

Overheating... and overcooking!

I've taken on Sloth like tendencies in this weather, everything is either done slowly or not at all. I'm still waitng for my nesting instinct to kick in....it had better hurry up, I'm being induced Sunday night. I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed and short tempered if I'm honest. I'm missing my Mum desperately and had a bloody good cry in the bath tonight. She was with me and DH when DD was born and had she still been here she would have been with us this time too. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea to have their mum with them but it was right for us as DH gets a bit giddy with blood. I anticipated feeling like this but I thought I'd feel it more afterwards.

Anyway enough of the moping, I hope tonight's the night for at least one of you and there's some baby news tomorrow.

woopsidaisy · 09/08/2012 22:46

Hi ham.
Can I recommend Proctosedyl Ointment and Suppositories. They work really, really well. I feel your pain!Wink
Lying on your side is great, but it took me a few weeks to get the hang of it. Hopefully it will settle down soon. Keep an eye out for prolapse/infection, which can make you feel very uncomfortable down there too.

woopsidaisy · 10/08/2012 07:35

Morning all, hope everyone slept better than I did! Smile

Was thinking that this will probably be our last weekend as a family of four, as DC3 to be induced next Friday. No sign of them coming before then. DSs are so excited.

Who is going to be next to have LO??? My BFF had her first yesterday, a little girl. She is back in my home town so can't get to see her yet, but hopefully get a good natter with friend today.

Better head off to get DSs ready for camp, and tidy up. Cleaning lady comes today-yay!

Have a good day all, and someone have a baby-please!Grin

40+2.

NeedlesCuties · 10/08/2012 07:48

Sending a >hug< to Picture. I can imagine that would be hard for you.

Ishop I'm feeling lots better today, no idea what was wrong with me the night previous! Thanks for asking :)

Someone close to me had her first yesterday, by ELCS, baby weighed 9lb 11oz >faints< Both mum and baby doing well.

(38 weeks today)

hamncheese · 10/08/2012 07:59

Thanks susie and woopsi I've done some lying feeds ok but he finds it hard to get a good flow and wakes soon after obviously not getting really full. Still is useful and nice all sleeping in our bed as a family.

Was so sore I couldn't sleep this am despite the tiredness argh. Going to the doctor for it today thank god maybe they can just numb the thing it's so bloody sore :( oh well I guess I can't complain it's no back to back labour after all Wink

ishopthereforeiam · 10/08/2012 08:50

needles 9lb 11 Shock! Someone at work had a 10lber on just gas and air(!)...

Picture Thanks x

woopsidaisy · 10/08/2012 08:50

Sorry if this is too intrusive ham-obviously you don't have to answer. But is it the haemorrhoids or your perineum that is so sore?
I had a haemorrhoid that became thrombosed after DS1. It was so painful! MW who came to house was lovely and said get Proctosedyl-but use the cream and suppositories. Was such a relief. I have a supply in already for after this one! Grin
Oh, and DS1 was back to back-and 9 lbs 7oz! So I had recently experienced severe pain-the haemorrhoid was still up there on the pain scale!Blush

frillylemons · 10/08/2012 09:24

Morning all!

Not much going on here, ishop. I had a lot more BH last night than before so it'll be interesting to see if I still get a lot today. The BH I had in bed seemed painful and seemed to happen when I rolled over Hmm odd.

Re big babies and gas and air, my big sis had her second and used just G&A and she weighed a whopping 10lb 6oz Confused Grim!

MrGeresHamster · 10/08/2012 09:30

No baby here... 40+3

DH still at home with cold and I managed 4 hours sleep. Another bad morning... Sad

OP posts:
Whiteangel · 10/08/2012 09:33
