We're on safari with the labour spotting signs... How long till the next baby arrives?

Pull up a birthing ball, sup some raspberry leaf tea and tuck into the 'big boy pineapple balti'. We're on the home straight!

No deliveries here either. Although my bump is way lower down and is very heavy and looks like massive a rugby ball. 39+6
Due tomorrow but my hat off to you ladies at 40+ weeks and at this stage, I didn't realise when I was at 38 weeks it could get even more uncomfortable! but at this rate, I'll be finding out 40+ about how much more I can take?!

Had another episode of LO having manic movements whilst in front of the Olympics last night and then some small amounts of gushes - not smelling like urine and so maybe I should call the mw?
I think I've had strong BHs for a couple of weeks but over the last two days whilst really upset, I noticed they'd all gone until I started to relax last night. Perhaps I had a lot of fight or flight hormone that stopped anything for that time?

Now please mother nature work your magic on our August group for more babies please!

MrsMigginslovespies · 10/08/2012 10:48

Ah Picture am sending Thanks and hugs for you at this time. Hope you're ok today.

Thanks Hamster, will give it a go again on my front, just find that boobs get really sore as they're hard and big, no matter how I try. But it does help.

Had a crap sleep as needed the loo a lot then was wide awake and hot at 0600 so got up, had some cereal, then fell asleep randomly on the sofa where DH found me at 0830 and sent me back to bed again! So feel bit better now after copious rounds of tea and toast and off to town for some bits later. Realise I'm getting my sweep on Mon not Tues. Eek! Bump feels much bigger and I'm lumbering around now, esp as he seems to lie a lot on old scar tissue which can be painful. Hey ho. Come on babies!

ALso, quick question, but what have you packed as your going home outfit for you to wear? I don't know what to pack, oddly! x

forgetfulmrs · 10/08/2012 11:05

Morning everyone, no delivery here either (40+4). Did have BH for about 2.5 hours last night but yet again they wore off. I know we can sound like a real bunch of moaning miseries here sometimes but it doesn't half cheer me up to know other people are in the same situation and feeling just like I do.

My positive for today is to clear the washing pile completely and also the ironing. Thats the idea anyway.

Then this afternoon taking DS to the river to meet some friends, think I better take a folding chair as if I sit on the grass for too long I doubt i'll ever get up!

Surely someone is going to produce a baby this weekend, we're experiencing a baby drought Smile

frillylemons · 10/08/2012 11:09

MW just came out and everything is fine with me. BP is normal and baby's heartbeat is good. I, however, am tired and ache and have sickness and a loose tummy! Lush. On the upside, DH is off today and we are going to go and sunbathe by my parents' pool. Lush. I need to just do nothing! MW said it could be the start of something or it may be nothing. Hopefully it's nothing - I have my baby shower tomorrow!!

miaboo · 10/08/2012 11:13

Morning all
spent all day yesterday feeling really poorly, wanted to be sick but couldnt and stomach and back were really hurting, TMI! Sorry but really felt like a needed the toilet but just coudnt go until about 7pm and then fit lowed like water regulary till about 7pm this morning! Blush
My bump across the top was really painful and baby was really moving so much it hurt me! I know he was head down but wondered if he had broke loose and was having a good swin around!
This morning I still feel really drained but not in as much pain even though stomach still hurts :(
38+3

Whiteangel · 10/08/2012 11:25

Oh dear you two! Hope you feel ok for baby shower Frilly! I'm a little bit crampy this morning but nothing that feels like contractions. Going to try another little walk later but it really hurts. Hope it isn't hurting him being wedged in my pelvis, can't be very comfortable poor thing. Anyway, better put some clothes on. Plumber coming to install our downstairs loo today! Hopefully that is what baby has been waiting for!

frillylemons · 10/08/2012 11:27

Sounds like things might be moving along for you miaboo!

MrGeresHamster · 10/08/2012 11:36

I'm still in bed Blush

DH is making me breakfast in bed, midwife due in 2.5 hours.

My positive for today is that DH put on a load of washing including two of his very smelly dressing gowns. I am lying in bed watching them dry on the line... bliss. After the sweep I am considering getting DH to take me out for a long walk followed by supper somewhere nice.

I think we must all have the 'Hilton of wombs' and that is why there are no babies. I agree with whoever on ipod so can't check said that at least we are in this together. I reckon though that once the next one comes, we'll all start. The motto for today should be 'Once you pop you just can't stop!'

justine09x · 10/08/2012 11:46

37 weeks today so she's officially allowed to be born :)

I'm sooo ready for her but judging by everyone else I'll still be sat here in 3+ weeks googling discharge, diarrhea, braxton hicks, whether 3rd babies come earlier plus any other non existent signs

Sigh, want her to come this week whilst kids are away!!

I'm liking the once u pop u can't stop, I looked at due in July thread and they were same as us and then there were loads if babies all at once so here's to hoping especially for all u overdue mummies.

Picture - sending you some Thanks hope you're doing okay x

Once you pop you just can't stop! Love it!

Miaboo know how you feel! My bump is so sore that I had to ask DH not to touch and I love him touching it normally! Olympic baby last night and she got into a kick boxing episode which made my bump shake violently for what seemed like ages! Can't wait to meet her feet, they must take after her daddy!

My positive for today has already been washing the swaddles and shortly will pick some sweet peas to make the house smell nice, even though it needs a really good clean Wink

frillylemons · 10/08/2012 12:32

My positive for today is that DH has a day off, the sun is shining and we are about to bask(sp?) in it by a pool, my mum came to see the nursery and loves it, we are going with friends to a BBQ tonight. Positive thinking!!

justine, my dsis was on that July thread :) she had dd1 on the 12th July Smile

capecath · 10/08/2012 12:33

MrsMiggins I've packed a nursing top and bra and just going to wear some maternity jeans or joggers. Plan is to be comfy! Don't think my shape will be going straight down to regular clothes right away hmm.

DS's birthday today and the sun is shining! So happy not to be in labour and at the mo doesn't look like they'll be sharing birthdays :) Just been for a nice walk with DS, had cake and coffee and we'll be hanging out with DH this afternoon.

white hope your sweep turns out to be more successful than mine (so far)... I was just settling in to be overdue but then consultant got my hopes up!

It does surprise me how many people do go overdue, it really does seem to be normal. Just read a statistic the other day that something like 95% of people give birth between 38-40 weeks but that seems way too high to me!!

(39+3)

frillylemons · 10/08/2012 12:34

picture Sad I'm so sorry you feel poo at the moment. It must be so horrid. Sending you love and Pringles (once you pop...!).

Pringles for everyone!! Grin

Lovemarmite · 10/08/2012 13:01

MrsMiggins I'm going to take maternity leggings, a top I can find that's clean and covers my bum Wink, flip flops, maternity undies and a pair of dark sunglasses!

capecath agree that figure seems too high, LO come tomorrow please!

OK just noticed this and am I the first to use it??? Torch

Whiteangel · 10/08/2012 14:03

Our plumber is trying to out drill next door's electrician! Good job baby isn't here and trying to sleep! Should have a second loo soon! I want Pringles now! Wish it was as easy as popping off a cap! Come on baby, we even bought you a soft close seat so you don't trap your fingers!

tumblebug · 10/08/2012 14:36

We have internet! worst thing about moving house has been the 2 weeks with just my phone...

Sorry everyone who's overdue, or just fed up and feeling rough. was hoping for lots of baby news. DS was born at 39+2 so think I'll be really grumpy if I go over this time.

No real signs of anything happening, although maybe more than when I had DS - I had a contraction last night which hurt a little (different from BH). Only one though! Saw midwife this morning (38+4), head is 3/5ths down - again more than DS ever was I think.

So feeling quite cheerful, but I would actually like a few more days as grandparents are all away and we still haven't thought of any names!!!

Weekipper · 10/08/2012 14:36

40+1

Thanks for answering my silly question, I did wonder if I was clutching at straws.

Anyway the sun is shining and all is calm here. I'd like to think one of us will open the Pringles soon! I'm ready to start looking after and worrying about a baby in my arms, on the outside of my body, instead of in there where I can't see!

Since Monday's mild excitement I feel fine and everybody keeps commenting on how well I look so by that I take it if I was soon to labour I'd look a bit peely-waaly! (pale)

hamncheese · 10/08/2012 15:28

woopsi it's the haemorrhoid that's sore. Everything else is a bit achey but much better. Got to the docs and got exactly what you said and it's really helped so far thank goodness!! I can sit again which sandy is happy about for feeding :)

Just for info about post delivery body I've found my swelling almost all gone one week on. Still can't get rings on but shoes fit again. Also, I was worried as my thighs and bum were massive and I thought I'd put on a lot of weight there but must have been water again as its away. Also the supposed cellulite there is gone too hmmm. Belly is getting there still a bit jellyish but shrinking, just a wee pot belly now. So 8 days on and I feel good. Hoping you all get yours soon nd start the same body recovery!

Took the wee man out in his sling for the first time today which was brilliant. Happy sunny baby times!

ishopthereforeiam · 10/08/2012 16:14

wow frilly hats off to your sis! And enjoy the baby shower tomorrow - hope you have a fab time!

love did you call the mw? sounds like it could be your waters breaking?

mrsm for my going home outfit I had what I wore into hospital Hmm! Black leggings, black t shirt and a blue and pink cardi... I think it was poppy who said before it's best to cover all bases and have clothes that wouldn't irritate you if you have to have an emergency c/s (or also if you have to have stitches after vbac) which I thought was fab advice and on that basis took nighties rather than pj's and remembered this time that I would not bounce back to pre pg size immediately (as my tummy took a while to deflate entirely and def not overnight!)...

fairtradelu · 10/08/2012 16:29

Raspberry leaf tea really is vile. Has anyone come up with any ways of consuming it so it doesn't taste so gross? I am struggling to have a cup a day at the mo.

Still no symptoms here so I think DH's birthday wish of having LO arrive on his birthday (tomorrow) is not going to happen. Still, I'm not too uncomfortable at the mo, although hearing you say you are taking baby out in the sling is making me feel tres jealous ham!

37+4

Weekipper · 10/08/2012 17:18

fairtrade someone somewhere mentioned drinking RLT iced was more pleasant. I haven't tried it but maybe worth a go.

Ham thanks for the post-birth body info.

mrsm I found it hard to pack what to wear cos I have limited options of things that fit me and I'm trying hard not to buy more. Settled for black leggings, black nursing vest and grey maternity hoody to cover ex-bump! Also despite being a pjs girl I've got nighties for hospital but also a tankini if I do go in pool. Although might not care what I'm wearing by that point.

NeedlesCuties · 10/08/2012 17:24

fairtrade way upthread I said that drinking RLT iced is the only way I can stomach it.

I boil water as normal, let it cool down in the fridge, add some ice and a splash of dilute raspberry (or whatever flavour you like) juice then drink it through a straw.

It isn't the most delicious even like that, but it is much better than drinking it hot.

MrGeresHamster · 10/08/2012 17:54

Sweep done, cervix was high and closed so she doesn't reckon it'll make a difference. This baby is in for the long haul Sad

Just been out for a long walk but it's so hot and I am exhausted. Can't believe I've got another 9 days of this to go. Sad
