We're on safari with the labour spotting signs... How long till the next baby arrives?

Pull up a birthing ball, sup some raspberry leaf tea and tuck into the 'big boy pineapple balti'. We're on the home straight!

Congrats gnomi!! And extra congrats for pushing out a 9-pounder - respect :P

Just back from consultant. Had a cervical exam and was told I am apparently 2-3cm dilated! baby's head right down and cervix opening up nicely. They have booked me in for induction on Tues anyway, but consultant reckons we'll be back in 24-48 hours! Yikes. Seems all on track for birthing centre so that is good news. All becoming rather real right now. Had a little cry in the car on the way home thinking how this is the last of time on my own with my little DS. But onto new exciting adventures....

Really hoping to push out this baby before DS's birthday Friday!!
Perhaps we're about to have a baby boom in next few days on this thread??

Off to have nice chilled lunch with Olympics.

richmondmum84 · 07/08/2012 12:27

Congratulations chic and gnomi!!! Smile so happy to hear that you are doing well. It's due date for me , mrgeneshamster and mcbaby... I was a bit nervous last night so l could only sleep for 2 hours. I will try to relax today.. Still there is not much going on. (TMI alert!) l had trips to the loo all night long, l suppose it's a good sign that baby's head is finally dropping! Does anyone know about Kingston hospital?

richmondmum84 · 07/08/2012 12:32

Capecath, congratulations!!! Great news! 2-3 cm dialeted already! Are you having painful contractions or are they just like having BH???? I am glad it's progressing so nicely for you. Best of luck! You will be a mummy soon!Smile

capecath · 07/08/2012 12:52

Thanks richmond :) Contractions not being painful at all so far, can feel tightening, but to me just feels like BH, and the usual uncomfortable feelings I've been having for past week or so - lots pressure down there, feeling sensitive, needing loo every hour... I did feel like I had proper contractions two nights ago but then those stopped. Oh well hopefully this one will come out nice and easy:)

The3Bears · 07/08/2012 13:04

Congratulations Gnomi Lovely name you've chosen were having that as this LO's middle name, well done for pushing out a 9lber aswell x

Wow capecath good luck, looking forward to hearing about your LO soon x

Im begining to get funny back pains when having BH's now had a couple last night and just been ironing and had a few, not had any back pain before whatsoever so wondering if it could be starting in the next few days Confused I hope so I only have 4 days til due date like vino and marmite Hope your both well, have you been having back pains aswell?

therumoursaretrue · 07/08/2012 13:38

Congratulations chic and gnomi Grin

richmondmum84 · 07/08/2012 13:46

richmondmum84 · 07/08/2012 13:48

Therumour, keep positive! Everything will be fine, they will take a good care of you and your baby! Wish you all the best!

tashaw28 · 07/08/2012 14:04

Congrats gnomi well done on a 9lb-er!!

Is / has anyone had a group b strep test? If so how early did it need to be done, I'm 38+2 and mw's not keen to do one but I want it!
Is it worth going private for?

therumoursaretrue · 07/08/2012 14:08

Thanks richmond was really upset earlier when they admitted me but feeling a bit better now. Wish DP was here...not due back from working away till tomorrow night!

Lovemarmite · 07/08/2012 14:25

Thinking of you rumours and hope all is good with you!

Good luck capecath sounds like all is great, hoping to have a not so bad contraction time of it and follow you!

Hi 3bears yes to the back pains, in fact the back pain is quite big today and lots of pressure down there as LO has dropped more so in the last two days. Last night I wondered if my waters had leaked as my liner was slightly wet and I felt a few gushes when I was sitting down in front of the TV. Bigger BHs over the last days but have stopped the constant boo-ing which is a relief. As this is my first, I don't quite know what to expect but have so far had a real rollercoaster of period type pains, lightenings, crying, evacuations etc but nothing yet to show. Although DH said, he thinks it's all happening more and more and so he maybe more tuned up to it than me. I'd love to know if my cervix has opened slightly as I really feel it's changing down there.
On a slight moan, my tummy skin is very sore now and the red marks are looking more angry and they're hurting tons more today, boo hoo!

Stinkyminkymoo · 07/08/2012 14:35

Congrats everyone on all your babies already Grin

I'm 39+3 and had no offer of induction or sweep or anything! Sad I'm getting a little bored and fed up though what I'd do without the Olympics I do not know I'm seeing the mw on Friday so I hope that if nothing has happened by then I'll get a little nudge... Smile

Fingers crossed!

Lovemarmite · 07/08/2012 14:55

Hi Stinkyminky
Me too 39+3 today (3bears and vino too)
I have a mw appointment next Tuesday and so far no mention either of anything.. I think they might if due date comes and goes though?

MrGeresHamster · 07/08/2012 15:24

Congratulations Gnomi

Rumours I had that scare last week and all seemed ok in the end. They were being extra cautious so hopefully same with you. Good luck and keep posting.

Ok so something 'happened'. Was out and went to the toilet, all seemed very wet. I wiped and my hand was wet (but not smelly) and I definately didn't wee on it. Walked home and on the way had a pain, like a stitch, which started on the right of my bump, moved over the top the then down the front. Lasted a while though, about 5 mins. At home now and the pain has gone but my whole bump feels sore. DH is back from work in an hour. Could this be it...? Eek bit scared now. Due date is today...

Stinkyminkymoo · 07/08/2012 16:07

Hi marmite!

I was hoping that some of the Olympic tension might help it pop out but no such luck Wink

It's just a waiting game I guess! I'm just getting bored now!

Ooh Hamster, that all sounds exciting! Fingers crossed for you!!

justine09x · 07/08/2012 17:15

sounds promising hamster!! let us know if anything comes of it, My friends daughter went into labour this morning and is well underway in hospital now and her due date is also today so looks like we might start seeing some due date babies??

I hope so i'm trying to pass the time xx

Vinolover · 07/08/2012 18:33

Sounds like things could be progressing nicely there Hamster :)

Good luck to you Capecath! Hopefully it won't be too much longer for you!

Hope you're ok Rumours!

I'm having back pain too 3bears but not too frequently. I thought this morning it was from the way I was lying but I had a lot of strong BHs at the zoo today along with back pain. I stupidly got all excited but it's completely stopped now :(

Time for a shower and a nipple tweak me thinks Wink

forgetfulmrs · 07/08/2012 18:59

keep your chin up rumours hope you dont have to stay in too long and get the all clear soon.

Well done Gnomi you deserve a medal Wink I pushed out a 9lb 11er almost 3 years ago, hoping this one will be smaller!

Wow cape thats brilliant. I have my consultant appointment tomorrow morning, if they tell me i'm even 1cm dilated I think i'll burst into tears right there and then! Fingers crossed something might happen for you tonight. Good Luck. You too MrGeres hope things progress.

forgetfulmrs · 07/08/2012 19:14

ps signet your post re your SILs baby has prompted me to put a neutral babygro in my hospital bag in case i'm not having a girl after all! Smile

its my anniversary on Saturday white so i've also thinking it would be wierd if baby was born on same day.

40+1 today had really bad backache and tummy tightening during the night. Got all excited AGAIN but wore off after an hour or so. Never mind, guess I can't rush it.

eightieshopaholic · 07/08/2012 19:18

Congratulation Gnomi and Chic

Well thought things had started today, in shower this morning and got very sharp pains in my back they lasted most of the day, eased off when walked about at work. But seems fine now . I have only had a few BH though the whole pregnancy is this normal??

39+3 today

Whiteangel · 07/08/2012 20:42

Dragged myself out for tea and it was lovely so glad I did. Put me in a better mood! Wedding anniversary nearly over so eviction plan back on course! Come on baby!

Weekipper · 07/08/2012 22:02

Congratulations Gnomi and Chic! Hope you are recovering well.

Lots of promising signs in these posts.

My aches and pains on Monday settled overnight and I was back to feeling a-ok this morning. Jason Byrne was hilarious last night but not labour inducing. Rhys Derby was entertaining but he was never in danger of inducing labour! So now I'll have to plan future activities. Think tomorrow we're going to head out for a curry!

Currently waiting on a Dominoes delivery where I've swapped my usual pepperoni for Chicken Mexican with chillies...

Good luck all those due 8/8!

tumblebug · 07/08/2012 22:21

Wow it's exciting on here - congratulations on the new babies, and good luck to everyone things are starting to happen for.

woopsi moving house so late wasn't ideal, but gave me an excuse not to do much (Dh is great, and lots of help) and it's done now and really love the house so all worthwhile. We've unpacked what we need, the rest will wait.

No signs of baby making an appearance any time soon. I'm getting more tired, but would ideally like a few more days to rest and sort some bits.

Having said that, that's exactly how I felt when waters went in the middle of the night with ds (at 39 weeks). So anything can happen!

Trying for a vbac, but not sure how good my chances are. I'm just hoping for a quick labour so we know quickly one way or the other (fully dilated last time, but back to back most of the time and he got stuck).

ishopthereforeiam · 07/08/2012 22:46

Congratulations Gnomi and Chic Thanks!

Signet - wow! I thought a boy would be hard to mistake on a scan(!) SiL must have had a shock!

WelshLadyCDF · 07/08/2012 22:51

There are 8 of us due on 8/8!
Good luck all, xxx
