We're on safari with the labour spotting signs... How long till the next baby arrives?

Pull up a birthing ball, sup some raspberry leaf tea and tuck into the 'big boy pineapple balti'. We're on the home straight!

Nel1975 · 06/08/2012 21:54

Evening all! Well since there is just over 2 hours left of today it doesn't look like my LO is going to put in an appearance on their due date!
Had a midwife appointment today but not getting a sweep until next Tuesday when I'll be 40+8, hoping their might be some action before then!
DH must have been so glad to come home from work tonight as I've been a bit tearful and not great company - getting fed up with the "any news" texts and Facebook messages.
Anyway - enough of my moans. Off to bed to see if I can find a comfortable position for the night!

ChicBabyP · 06/08/2012 22:18

Baby girl was born this morning, 6lbs 3oz, just perfect! Can't take my eys off her. All went well and I am smitten. She's been feeding well and sleeping a lot, you'd think she's had a hard tiring day!! Haven't slept much in last 24hrs so going to try and get some shut eye now. Will be back soon to catch up with everyone.

tashaw28 · 06/08/2012 22:22

chic congratulations!!! Hope your c section was ok in the end, looking forward to hearing more about your birth!

PictureThis · 06/08/2012 22:23

Ahhh congratulations Chic, wonderful news, any names? Hope you're feeling ok although you sound absolutely euphoric!

susiegrapevine · 06/08/2012 22:36

Chic well done have been egerly awaiting the next one! Yay sounds perfect. Hope you manage some rest.

forgetfulmrs · 06/08/2012 22:41

Well done Chic another baby for the list 6lb 3oz...I can only dream of a little dinky one like that. Lets see how many more we can add this week (me included please).

Thanks for sharing ham you must have been utterly exhausted. I hope you can get home soon.

Welcome newbies.

My DS asked me yesterday why the baby has made mummys tummy all blue and red! He was referring to the veins and stretchmarks!!! Its just lovely how a toddler speaks its mind. Had me and DH in stitches.

I had a lot of stitches with DS but still haven't gotten around to any perineum massage this time. I found lavender oil in the bath helps ease stitches and arnica oil/cream helps too. Another thing is to pour a jug of warm water over your bits while you pee...honest!!!

Signet2012 · 06/08/2012 22:43

Congrats Chic!

I had a midwife appointment today and baby is fully engaged she said. Baby was less than impressed at being prodded and has been making it known all night.

on another note SIL had her baby today too, was expecting a boy, from all scans and out came a girl! So she is currently nameless! With a blue hat bless her!
Both fine and well which is the main thing, another step towards me being about to be a mum!

frillylemons · 06/08/2012 22:44

Yay Chic! Congratulations!! Xx

Vinolover · 07/08/2012 06:42

Congratulations chic. I hope you're recovering well.

I'm afraid I'm another with my fingers in my ears with regards to Gary Barlow :(. I just can't bear anything like that at the best of times, let alone at this stage of pregnancy.

I'm off to the dentist today which should be fun, not!!! I hate going so much :(. We're going to a local zoo after so that should be fun and hopefully keep me from analysing every niggle! I just hope I snap out of my mood because I feel really cheesed off at the moment! The joys of late pregnancy eh.

Have a good day peeps.

Gan24 · 07/08/2012 07:03

Congratulations chic!! Lovely news!! I bet your baby girl is just incredible. Well ladies, pineapple, raspberry tea and nipple massaging did the trick and my waters broke like niagra falls at 4am. Thank god i wasnt in tesco!
Now at home having mild contractions and just waiting. Going in tomorrow morning if it hasn't happened naturally. Getting excited, I'll let you know.
Signet, that's v exciting about sil although just goes to show u never know! Bet that was a surprise!
Have a lovely day xx

geekette · 07/08/2012 07:18

Just seeing the Barlows' story. Oh dear. My heart goes out to them.

And Chic: Congrats!
Soon it will be raining babies!
Good luck gan! Sounds like you are next.

No new news to report from my holding cell..still doing OK and not climbing the walls yet.

Vinolover · 07/08/2012 07:29

gan that's so exciting! Hope it all happens really quickly for you. Keep us posted :)

MrGeresHamster · 07/08/2012 07:35

Congratulations Chic, how wonderful, hope you are enjoying your newborn cuddles.

How exciting Gan, let us know how you get on.

Still nothing here... starting to get well meaning questions from friends/family and starting to feel quite down about the whole thing. Sat here in tears now (probably hormones)... Just feel like I'm going to be sat here waiting forever. Sad

frillylemons · 07/08/2012 07:46

Oooh how exciting, Gan!

Nothing is happening here but I'm not expecting it to as an only (only? Feels like I've been pg forever!) 37 weeks today! Excited to be officially full term though Grin

Babyfrilly is moving like a break dancer this morning...is that still common at this stage? It's most uncomfortable.

Vino, you must be coming up to the 40 week mark?!

capecath · 07/08/2012 07:49

Congrats Chic!! Wow, so little, so sweet. Enjoy.

Oooo Gan so exciting! Envious. Hope all goes well for you....

MrsMiggins susie yep pooping in front of everyone was my biggest concern in labour last time, haha. Also didn't happen though even though I was absolutely convinced it would. Tear didn't seem to bother me much, was stitched up while chatting to mom on the phone. Perhaps that was the drugs hmm.

39+0. Heading in for consultant appointment today to get induction booked.

woopsidaisy · 07/08/2012 07:52

Ooooooo, good luck Gan!

I am not getting excited about it, but I may be having some pain across bump today. Probably not amount to anything.
Going to dye my hair today and do nails whilst kids in camp.

MrGeresHamster, have a . The wait will end soon. I know it is hard.

hamncheese · 07/08/2012 08:15

Ooh exciting!! How's it going mcbaby and gan hopefully good news soon!!

Congratulations chic yay for August babies Grin

Feeding sandy at the moment... In my own bed yay!! Milk has officially come in and all is happy and well in the ham household. Perfect sunny day for my man :D

Funny... We got home at 11.30pm and opened the door to the flat. All cats staring down the hall and sandy decides to squeal and then imagine four cats doing that cartoon like running on the spot with massive puffy tails and big black eyes before they scarper in four directions! Aw such a shame. They are now in the living room exploring all of sandys things to get used to the smell of him.

Hope lots go into labour today and have great births. Sorry if my story was scary I didn't think about it before posting apologies. Ok it was tough but it was still good, a natural birth like I wanted, epidural was a godsend, and managed to 6cm just cocodamol at home. I would do it again and again for him without a thought. You will all be brilliant I know it :)

Whiteangel · 07/08/2012 09:07

Well today is our anniversary. Don't want to spend the next 21 year's throwing birthday parties on our anniversary but I really want this baby out! 2 more days til sweep. 40+5

Whiteangel · 07/08/2012 09:08

Oh and congrats chic and good look gan. Sorry caught in my own little bubble of despair! X

MrsMigginslovespies · 07/08/2012 09:25

Congratulations Chic! Lovely lovely news!

Wow, good luck Gan! Keep us posted if you cna Smile.

Also lovely to hear you're home happily Ham. Your story wasn't scary at all, fear not, and actually, useful to hear. You did brilliantly too and am glad all is well.

Thanks too re pooping reassurance... Blush. AM really wierd about it. Possibly more so than the tearing. Yikes. But whatever happens, happens, and I just want the baby to be born safely.

Sunny here today. Might actually go for a swim with DH then some cake and coffee later. Our village is being voted for Britain in Bloom today and I'm sadly quite excited about it Grin.

Off for brekkie, have a good day all, (and good luck at the dentist Vino) x

The3Bears · 07/08/2012 09:36

Hope everyone else is okay, and cant wait to hear about next arrival Grin

Gan24 · 07/08/2012 10:10

Thank you loads for your messages! I'll keep u posted.
Hamster, I was getting like you sound now even though I wasn't 40 weeks but everyone kept asking me if id had any movement and telling me how massive I was (incidentally I measured the number of weeks I was so I don't think it was huge...I'm not small either by any means!) so it just really got me down. Don't forget hormones are raging and it's such an emotional time. white angel, your baby will be here before you know it, let's hope you get someone with a decent hand size to do the trick! Xxx

Gnomi · 07/08/2012 11:20

Hi all,

Congratulations chic, and good luck to whoever comes next!

Baby Benjamin was born on 4th August, 3 days early, weighing a huge 9lb, so my neighbour who kept telling me Id have a massive baby was right! Had to stay in hospital for 2 nights as had surgery to repair a 3rd degree tear but home now.

Off to join the post-natal thread soon! Live Gnomi

Lovemarmite · 07/08/2012 11:41

Congratulations chic! fantastic news x

Congratulations gnomi fantastic and yippee! to you x

Hope the LOs are doing brilliantly and you're doing great too xxx

Vinolover · 07/08/2012 12:08

Congratulations gnomi. Gosh, that made my toes curl thinking about you having surgery for your tear! Hope you're resting up well!

I'm 39+3 now Frilly which means he has 4 more days to be on time! I think he's far too cosy in there though.
I know what you mean about it being uncomfortable when they have fidgety days. It's nice and reassuring though :)
