We're on safari with the labour spotting signs... How long till the next baby arrives?

Pull up a birthing ball, sup some raspberry leaf tea and tuck into the 'big boy pineapple balti'. We're on the home straight!

wow mrsgere fab news!

off to get ds' passport done today woohooo! Not that he'll be off anywhere in before he's 4 months old (made the mistake of taking dd to Dubai when she was 3mths - so NOT a holiday)!...

MiniPopsMum2012 · 15/08/2012 11:31

rumours sorry you're care's not been great, hope you can find the complaints stuff and make a complaint. :(

Good luck to everyone with baby-stirrings. Looking forward to reading about more babies very soon. Sprinkling you all with sparkly labour dust.. :)

MrsGeres Excellent news and great to hear more positive!
I'm at that overdue but when? stage so really happy you're now on the way now.

3bears know how you feel about the calls etc to see if LO is here. I have my mum emailing me a lot at the moment (even though we've not sorted out our barny from last week). The emails are getting very tiresome as they're the same and I feel like sending a bounce back of "No news" so I don't have to look at them anymore Wink.
Had my 40+2 appointment on Monday with mw and wasn't offered a sweep then but next week is an option, or if I really wanted one beforehand, it seemed possible.
DH said I would be truly rubbish at having a sweep as he witnessed my effort at an internal examination on Sunday afternoon and how I was shaking before, during and after. The mw at the hospital suggested I could have a sweep there with gas and so perhaps that might be an option.

miaboo hope you can get a holiday sorted before school starts, sounds like a great thing to do!

My positive today is to be relaxed, watch a film and sit on my ball for a while, stand up for longer and tear up my to do list which had some ridiculous things on it e.g. dig up the potatoes, yeah like I would be out there with a spade now, hee hee.

MrsMigginslovespies · 15/08/2012 11:44

Morning! All going on on here today. Just a quickie from me to say went into hospital last night at 1045 as stitch was really sore. Did lots of monitoring etc, bloods and eventually begged to go home at 0100. Now going back in for more monitoring but baby is fine. They think stitch is possible old scar tissue and adhesions but need to check. I'm also at least 1cm dilated which is good as sweep must have done something. But a way to go yet. My dad is desperate for baby to come today as it's his birthday too! Willmkeep you all posted and am sending good baby vibes! Xx

justine09x · 15/08/2012 13:20

loving all the good news, hopefully u wont need the induction hamster

I have good news too just spoke to my own midwife after yesterdays shennanigans and she said she is happy for homebirth to go ahead even if I go into labour in the next few days (hospital said I would have to go in) I just said i'm not moving and thats that unless there is some complication i'm staying put. She said that is my right to do that and everythingis still booked and they are all aware that I had a previous quick birth and if I ring in to the community midwives they know to get a move on :)

had some cramps and loose movement TMI lol, thought it could be start of things, but reckon its the nasty iron tablets kicking in so yukky!!

therumoursaretrue · 15/08/2012 13:28

marmite good idea about talking to the GP. Mine is generally very good and would probably be a good starting point. I just feel like I'm being given completely conflicting information all the time and as I've a DVT and PIH my care is being coordinated by 2 different consultants which just seems madness.

Update though, things may be improving! I saw a registrar this morning who couldn't understand why I haven't been given an induction date yet (was told I'd get a date as soon as I hit 37 weeks). He agreed with the haematologist who felt I should be induced sooner rather than later...and spoke to the consultant obstetrician so I should have a date for delivery this week!

Thats is, if I don't go on my own first; just had a sweep which brought on my show and I'm 3cms dilated so I've been admitted now for observation as BP is slightly raised again.

Nightfall1983 · 15/08/2012 14:20

Hi all,
38 week midwife appointment today (I'm 38 + 4) and all is well. Baby is 2/5 engaged, which is nice (was 1/5 last time, slow and steady does it) and she said my iron levels (from 36 week bloods) were "impressive". Next appointment will be at 40 + 4 and she actually asked me if I'd like a sweep then - so a bit different to some of you. I said no, as I want baby to stay in till 41 weeks (1st September) if possible and she agreed to do one on the first week-day after that so all good :-)
RE the annoying "any news" calls/texts: this is why I haven't told ANYONE my due date, I've said it's "the beginning of September" to everyone so no one will be bothering me until the last few days at worst (would be induced on September 6th) Grin it's been odd being so evasive when people ask but I'm glad now that i did...

geekette · 15/08/2012 15:12

rumours really sorry you are going through the mill. My kudos to wsh for realising I was in distress after obtaining multiple opinions on my proposed elcs and assigning me the consultant of my choice! I wouldn't have been able to stand what you have been through...

I am now 39+1. Sweep booked for Friday and looking forward to natural labour albeit a bit complicated as babe is back to back... damn fibroid.

Not getting constantly asked when I am due. Thank goodness. That would drive me insane. The few questions I get annoy me already...

tashaw28 · 15/08/2012 15:23

Lots of lovely news everyone, congrats on the boys picture and lamb, and good luck to all the swept ladies Wink
I did feel a bit off yesterday but annoyingly feel fine today, grrr. Tomorrow will be the most pregnant I've ever been as both my others were early, so am really expecting something to happen in the next couple of days!
Has anyone out there had the group b strep antibios before? I've heard they can make u nauseous and that worries me as I'm so sick phobic!!!

eightieshopaholic · 15/08/2012 15:31

Hi guys quick post our little boy was born 8.41 am 7ib10 all good with baby long labour but so worth it.

frillylemons · 15/08/2012 15:36

Congratulations picture, lamb and eighties!! So happy for you all Grin

All well this end although BH are getting stronger and been quite painful. I also had my 38 week appt today and baby is 2/5 engaged Smile

The baby is soooo wriggly at the moment which is lovely but rather uncomfortable!

MrsMigginslovespies · 15/08/2012 16:21

Wow congratulations Eighties on your baby son! Lovely happy news am so chuffed for you!

Got back earlier from hospital again after more observations etc and a 2nd sweep that was MUCH better than Monday's. Turns out, my consultant is notorious for being thorough hence the agony. Today was much more like a smear. So here's hoping things kick off a bit and I catch some baby dust! 40 weeks today! Can't believe it! X

justine09x · 15/08/2012 16:44

Congrats eighties Another lovely arrival, things are Definately hitting up on here just need some girls now to even things out, I would volunteer, but dh contract came to an end so he's been at home but is going to start a new job tommorrow so I'm actually wanting baby to stay put now lol :)

justine09x · 15/08/2012 16:44

Hotting*

The3Bears · 15/08/2012 18:25

Well it would seem im in labour Grin saw midwife who examined me and I was 2-3 cm already and stretchy so she did a sweep and sent me to hospital for monitoring afterwards as babys HB dropped a little, back now and all is good have been having contractions they are getting stronger and had a bloody show so going to have a bath and try to relax, getting nervous now :)

Congratulations eighties Grin

capecath · 15/08/2012 18:33

And we have another boy to add to the list! Noah Alexander was born yesterday (14th) weighing a healthy 8lb1oz and a tall 58cm, 4.5 hours after my waters were broken. He is beautiful and latching well already. Wow, I've forgotten how painful it all is since DS1!! Lost a fair amount of blood with cervix bleeding, so needed fluid replacement and iron, plus had to be cut and needed suction cap to help get him out which was really awful. Thought I was going to die. Oh well, glad that is all over and now we get to enjoy:) So thankful for a little bro for our DS!

MrGeresHamster · 15/08/2012 18:38

Wow congratulations Eighties and Capecath on your boys. It looks like the August babies have started coming.

...once you pop you just can't stop!

susiegrapevine · 15/08/2012 19:20

Congrats eighties and capecath babies galore!

Baby defo been much lower today and causing a few pains but don't wanna get too excited. Keeping my fingers crossed.

capecath · 15/08/2012 20:14

Thanks :) Meant to say, was in the birthing pool for an hour which was really fantastic. But my body was asking to get out so I listened to it... think I was getting to hot. Managed with just gas&air in the end - love the stuff!

Congrats eighties, picture (looks like we have the same day!) and lamb! hang in there everyone else, not long now...

geekette · 15/08/2012 21:09

congrats to all the new mums! news coming in thick and fast now. :) so who is next?

ishopthereforeiam · 15/08/2012 21:49

Yayyyy 80s and capecath fab news and welcome to the lil lads, Thanks and large Wine for you both!

cape is the suction the ventouse or sth else - and hope the episitomy wasn' too bad - had a 3rd dg tear after dd (not this time as had c/s) nd just wanted to say make sure you rest and take care of yourself so you can heal well. ps - in the same boat with the bf although got a bit less painful after about 10 days or so although I did contemplate stopping after about 4 days!

Come on over to the post natal thread which minipop linked to further up.

rumours sounds like things are progressing!

Stinkyminkymoo · 15/08/2012 22:19

Hi guys! I'm thrilled to announce that my beautiful baby girl Emilia was born today at 12.12 this afternoon. Will post details but am knackered and trying to work out breast feeding!! Grin

X

forgetfulmrs · 15/08/2012 22:28

Congrats picture lamb eighties Capecath and minky pop pop pop pop pop!

I'm being admitted in the morning for induction, apparently they'll try and break my waters and there shouldn't be a need for a hormone pessary or gel seeing as I was 2-3cm dilated when I had my sweep last week. Eek! am pretty scared. Was a bit emotional putting DS to bed this evening.

All the best to the rest of the ladies who are being induced/swept/just hanging on. Doubt I'll get a wink of sleep tonight Smile x x x

MrGeresHamster · 15/08/2012 22:30

Yeay, congrats StinkyMoo... there is a lot of popping going on!

Fingers crossed, legs open, labour dust for all!

I've a question...constant lover back pain. What do you say? I'm still getting lots of BH and baby very active but the back ache is constant. Going to have a Fybogel as could be constipation? What do you think? X
