We're on safari with the labour spotting signs... How long till the next baby arrives?

Pull up a birthing ball, sup some raspberry leaf tea and tuck into the 'big boy pineapple balti'. We're on the home straight!

Richmond contrwct

McBaby · 12/08/2012 08:58

Ricmond contractions were 10 mins apart for a few hours the 8 and 5 mons apart for 6 hours - spoke to hospital who said to wait till 3-4 mons apart and then come in. But the. They started getting further apart .... Now have been 10- 20 mins apart for last 24 hours! All painful and uncomfortable!

Loislane78 · 12/08/2012 09:14

Keep checking in to see how everyone is doing; distinct lack of babies!! I reckon they're all just waiting until after the Olympics closing ceremony :)

Being induced on the 19th at 39 wks and happy to wait as just finished work and need a rest next week. Got a sweep tomorrow so we'll see how that goes.

Watching with excitement! Have a great Sunday everyone :)

Good luck picture Thanks hope it goes really well x

Had some really touch and go painful period and back pains yesterday and felt odd and sicky, bad tum etc for a few hours and then bounced on my ball, went back to bed, had shower and felt a little better later that day.
Now joining the overdue posse today! 40+1

More babies so the queue goes down please!

richmondmum84 · 12/08/2012 10:43

Good luck picture Smile

Mcbaby- Mine is same just less intense at the moment. They are more frequent and painful at night. Sad

Lovemarmite · 12/08/2012 10:51

Richmond and McBaby sending you some of that labour dust and hope it comes on for you.

McBaby · 12/08/2012 11:02

Have taken paracetamol which seems to take the edge off but wake up each time but did rest last night. Also used the tens wheb they were five mins apart which seemed to help a bit. It would be good to know how long this stage lasts!

At sweep on Friday they could feel the baby's head through the membrane, soft cervix which had started dialating etc and it has dropped more since then!

MrsMigginslovespies · 12/08/2012 11:04

Good luck Picture! Hope it all goes really well for you today and thinking of you. I've got my sweep tomorrow and can't help feeling a bit nervous now! 40 weeks on Wed and it's all a bit overwhelming at times now. DH is sweetly so excited, as am I, but am also bit nervous. Not had any more periody cramps etc but baby still feels very high under my ribs and it's mkaing it hard to breathe or slump on the sofa! Hey ho.

Hope you all manage to have a nice Sunday and enjoy the remainder of the Olympics. WIll miss it when it finishes tonight, must say. But the Great British Bakeoff starts this week, so not all bad Wink x

richmondmum84 · 12/08/2012 11:21

Marmite- thank you so much for your kind support Smile

richmondmum84 · 12/08/2012 11:29

Mcbaby- it seems like things are progressing for you. It shouldn't be too far. I don't know if I am progressing, l won't know what exactly is happening with my body until I see midwife on Wednesday. Might call them tomorrow and beg for helpSad.

Vinolover · 12/08/2012 11:58

I've had my baby :). William was born at 9.35 last night, on his due date, weighing 7lb 14oz. He is just absolutely beautiful and I'm utterly in love!

It all started on Friday when I visited the midwife for a sweep. I mentioned his movements were still really slow and she sent me to the hospital again to be monitored. When I got there the midwife wasn't happy with my measurements because they were on the small side and I was referred to see the registrar. He scanned me and saw my fluid level was very low and the blood flow from the placenta wasn't great so induction was the way forward. This was started at 2am but only really got me to 2cm and any contractions I had didn't last very long so after a very long day yesterday my waters were eventually broken at 6.50 last night and I was 10cms by 8.30! Eventually I was given some gas and air and he popped out an hour later :). (must have been all that RLT!!)

I haven't had a chance to look back through the recent posts but will have a nosy later when I get home.

Labour vibes to all the over due ladies!!

Congratulations Vino!Smile what a lovely news!

susiegrapevine · 12/08/2012 12:22

Congrats vino a baby at last!

Just popped on to say just had some bad news that my grandad has been admitted to hospital after a funny turn. My mum just rang so am now waiting anxiously to hear! For those of you that didn't know before he went in a while ago and was waiting for a bypass but I think he had been over doing it lately!

At least vino's news has cheered me up a bit.

The3Bears · 12/08/2012 12:32

Congratulations Vino Hope your enjoying lots of snuggles :)

No baby here still :( the more I wait the more nervous im getting, anyone else?

susie Really hope your grandad is okay, sending you lots of hugs x

MrGeresHamster · 12/08/2012 12:45

3Bears I know how you feel... It's like the elephant in the room, even when I'm on my own. DH goes back to work tomorrow and I'm scared that I'll just spend the day in tears. I can't get anyone else to spend time with me as they are either at work, have young children and anyway it would mean explaining to them how I feel. ...and that feels wrong to do. Everyday gets harder. I'm bigger, in more pain, less mobile and more down. ...but then I haven't given up on the idea of a natural labour, but on the horizon (and getting closer) is this medicalised approach which I've fought so hard to avoid. I was so convinced I would be early. I'm starting to feel like a failure. Sad

Congratulations vino Thanks lovely names and so pleased for you x Wow, just for you, here's a lovely bubbly Wine

MrGeresHamster you are so not a failure at all! Big hug to you x

3bears I know how you feel too. Every sign I am thinking, is this a sign and then it's not...! grrr

I have a TMI question: I've just had a big evacuation, second today and it felt like it was my body determined to get rid of things (sorry, this is real TMI!). But I also had a lot of fluid that came out that did not feel like pee, I wish I'd try to stop the flow but didn't and it just felt like it drained away. It really didn't feel like it came from my where pee comes from and it made no sound at all as it came out. No smell and nothing on the toilet tissue. Has anyone had this too?
I have a mw appointment tomorrow morning and will tell her but I am a bit confused.

The3Bears · 12/08/2012 13:18

You are not a failure mrgeres I can imagine how you are feeling it's horrible im only 1 day over so you must be so fed up. Can you not go for a little walk close by or something tomorrow to keep busy, please dont stay in and be upset.
Dp is working tonight and tomorrow so i'll be home alone with ds but im quite glad as it's a bit less pressure, it's the questions that get to me 'any changes' etc my mum is round the corner aswell so may have a walk round just to get out for a bit.
Dont rely on having any signs aswell as this is what annoyed me with last pregnancy and that just started out of the blue in the middle of the night, so there is hope. I really hope something happens soon for you x

forgetfulmrs · 12/08/2012 13:33

Congrats Vino well done. Finally a new baby. I hope I feel just like you whenn I hold my little one.

Hope the pain becomes a bit more manageable or at least progresses into something "real" for you McBaby!

Good luck Picture

I had a bad day yesterday, it was our anniversary but I so didnt feel like celebrating. My piles Blush have come back with a vengance so i'd had hardly any sleep. No labour symptoms, 40+6 and just had enough. Wanted to lock myself away in a dark room and just cry!
Anyway, just b4 bed last night I decided today would be a fresh start and I would be more positive. So have walked all round Tesco this morning with DS and DH to get plenty of shopping in. Got some washing in the machine and am about to make up the babies crib. I'll be induced on Thursday if nothing happens by then so i'll have a new baby by next weekend.

Hope everyone else has a good Sunday, more baby news would be excellent so I can live vicariously.

Big hug to all those in the same boat as me, c'mon ladies we can do this! It's a test of our endurance and mental health!

ishopthereforeiam · 12/08/2012 13:35

Yayyyy well done Vino Thanks CONGRATULATIONS!

MrsG - you are def not a failure by any means, you've spent 9 months nurturing your lil bubba and keeping it safe.

Love please please please call your mw! If teh first one was a lil bit of waters breaking this could be the big gush. Once your waters go, they usually like to check and get baby out within 24 hours as there is an increased risk of infection so don't be shy and give them a ring today?

Good luck tday picture

all well here with ds, he seems settled in despite the fact dh and i are using the living room as a bedroom and sleeping on sofas as it easier for me to get up and feed in the night than in bed (post c/s). Other than that, all recovering nicely. DD was playing up a little bit for the last week (I think b/c I couldn't pick her up etc) but have managed to bend a bit and give her some big cuddles and she seems more like her (still cheeky but less naughty) self.

Here's to some more babies soon Wine

WelshLadyCDF · 12/08/2012 14:28

lovemarmite , agree with I shop, call your midwife ASAP and describe what happened. Don't panic, just get some advice,
Good luck,
