We're on safari with the labour spotting signs... How long till the next baby arrives?

Pull up a birthing ball, sup some raspberry leaf tea and tuck into the 'big boy pineapple balti'. We're on the home straight!

Well nothing has happened since last night and contents of stomach seem to be processing at normal speed so maybe it was just dodgy fish n chips!

Going to fill up petrol tank today as it made me realise last night that we are being a bit silly leaving the car sat outside with the light flashing on the fuel gage!

I was saying to DP last night, It cant be it! IT just cant! I have not printed my birth plan off, my toe nails have varnish on them and I have no remover! the things we worry about !

Hope everyone is ok and some babies come soon!!

The3Bears · 11/08/2012 16:51

Anyone have any news yet, I am so fed up dp keeps asking if im feeling any different Hmm mum keeps mentioning it I just want to go away and hide :( so frustrating. Have been keeping busy tidying garden and washed all bedding but even im getting annoyed now.

How is everyone else?

WelshLadyCDF · 11/08/2012 17:12

I am fed up too Sad . 40+3 and no signs of an arrival, baby is large for dates so everyone said she'd be here early, feels so weird, it's like a phase in-between pregnancy and birth that I wasn't expecting.
It's uncomfy to walk so haven't been out for a while, I am so glad the Olympics is on.

MrGeresHamster · 11/08/2012 17:24

Welsh and 3Bears you both sound as fed up as me. 40+4 today.

Trying to stay as active as possible but I am so tired and heavy. I've loved being pregnant up until this stage. It's so demoralising. I am tempted to shout and scream at the next person who asks me how I am, or phones/texts/emails asking if baby's arrived or given me tips for bringing on labour or who looks at me sympathetically or who utter these awful words 'well, not long now' ARGH. Not seeing midwife again till Wednesday. I've even made plans for next week as I don't believe baby is ever going to come.

...now the sun is out I just want to wear some lovely sunny clothes (in anything but elephant size) and go and sit outside drinking gallons of Pinot Grigo.

...and the Olympics finish on Sunday and I'll be back to watching Jeremy Bloody Kyle. Angry

I'll join those in the fed up camp! 40+5 here! Getting a sweep on Tuesday. On a positive note I get to see my nephews tomorrow who are here on holiday so will be able to spend sometime with them before the baby is here :)

geekette · 11/08/2012 18:34

First weekend out of hospital. Still elated so no time to feel fed up yet. I do worry at every big kick that baby might revert to one of those difficult positions again...

Currently living off hope and gratitude and taking every day as it comes. .

richmondmum84 · 11/08/2012 18:55

Oh no, we are all overdue! 40+4 with big baby. Painful BHs and show for the last 2 days. Eating pineapples, spicy food, RLT, walking and bouncing on the ball even a sweep!!!

Whiteangel · 11/08/2012 18:58

Need some of your positivity geekette! 41+2 and feeling every minute! Been in a foul mood all day and don't know what to do with myself! Really want a large glass of wine to cheer myself up but I've been so good for a year now that I'm drawing on my dwindling will power not to raid the wine rack! If it didn't hurt so much to walk to the kitchen I may have already given in. Is misery a sign things are starting? 'it won't be long now' makes me want to punch people. I've dreaded being induced right from the beginning and hate having no control. This pregnancy started in such a medical way that I wanted it to end in a much more relaxed and natural way. 'It'll all be worth it' is another one that makes my fist twitch! Arrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhh!!!!

MrGeresHamster · 11/08/2012 19:05

Whiteangel I feel for you. I feel shit at 40+4 so can imagine how horrid you feel. My only advice is to have a glass of wine. I am very tempted myself If nothing else, you'll sleep well.

He everyone had a good day out yesterday. Had lunch with my gran, mum and dad and ds and sis. Then went to see my grandad with them except my gran and dad as my gran hates my grandad! Gran is my dad's mum, grandad is my mum's dad. So was quiet distracted.

Thought something was happening this morn as felt really achey and like I was getting my period didn't mention to dh tho. Went back to sleep after a while as dh let me lie in and woke up achey again but had a warm bath and it all went away.

Kept occupied by going to the park with dh and ds, had a good afternoon and went back to have a bbq but decided to go for the indoor option as it got really windy suddenly.

Dh's beer exploded as he opened it (no idea why as it had just been sitting in the fridge not shaken up!) It got all over me and the carpet and dh so now my whole flat stinks of beer which probably means the baby is coming tmw cos it will be very embrassing if the midwife comes and thw whole place reaks of beer!!

Still fed up here and only 38+4 but ds born at 38+3 so I feel like I am overdue!

Whiteangel · 11/08/2012 20:06

Just bounced all way round with Mo on my ball whilst eating choc icecream and am feeling a little more cheerful. Could hardly stand up afterwards though. Pelvis makes it really painful to put my legs back together so hobble around like I've just got off a horse! Really thought I'd have an Olympic baby. He better hurry up!

McBaby · 11/08/2012 21:54

Regular painful contractions for 24 hours following sweep yesterday morning ..... But nothing all day today. V fed up tired and frustrated. Sorry there are so many people in the same boat! 40+4 here today to.

richmondmum84 · 11/08/2012 22:27

Mcbaby- how regular are they? I have the same thing going on. Contractions are 10-8-10-10-14-18 min. Apart so very irregular but really painful! If this is false labour l don't even want to think about the real one. 40+4. Pain is quite down in the front, not coming from my back all the way to my tummy. Hamster- how are you feeling?

MrGeresHamster · 11/08/2012 22:44

Only the show here... having period pains and stitch like pains across my bump but not regular. Went for my walk and came home exhausted, but no sign of labour.

This is the worse part of pregnancy Sad

We are all getting there! Fingers cross! Wish you all quick smooth labours Smile

cupoftea123 · 12/08/2012 04:11

Hi all lovely and so entertainingly honest August due ladies. I signed up weeks ago but have been a reader rather than a writer, catching up with your posts during these sleepless nights is what's kept me going so I thankyou kindly.

My EDD was the same as yours Whiteangel I had no idea this part of the pregnancy was gonna be sooo hard. So like you all i've tried pineapple, hot currys, RLT, ball bouncing, walking, had a sweep (over flipping 48 hours ago and even though MW said it was successfull zero signs of imminent labour) sex (both varieties as DH informed me of the you know what being ingested through the gut being more effective research with the biggest grin, gosh not done that for a while Blush ) been rubbing clary sage and almond oil into my belly... but still no labour... Have i missed anything?!!

So on Weds i have a hospital appointment about induction which i too feel so reluctant to have (was hoping for a water birth at home). What DH and i have talked about is asking them for a scan to check if baby is ok and see what condition placenta is in, obviously if it's not great news we'll choose the induction but if all is ok i'm hoping to grab baby a couple more days to see if s/he want to come of their own accord. I was reading in one of the pregnancy books that some countries (can't remember which ones) give a two week due period i was just thinking that might have been easier to get my head round than this agonising waiting game.

Sending you all flowers Thanks whilst hoping i can fall back to sleep before the sun comes up.

cupoftea123 · 12/08/2012 04:16

forgot to say i'm 41+3 this morning, jeez, surely it's time now LO

Weekipper · 12/08/2012 06:33

C'mon babies!!!! Mine or anyone else's! Today would be a fun birthday date:12/08/12!

40+3

hamncheese · 12/08/2012 06:58

Sending laboury vibes to all who need them today!!

Ham and sand xx

PictureThis · 12/08/2012 07:04

Well today is operation eviction day for my baby. I go in later this afternoon for induction of labour (unit workload permitting). Bags are packed, just a few bits and bobs to add and musn't forget the camera. 12.08.12 is a great date for a birthday but I doubt very much he'll be out by midnight tonight.

Weekipper · 12/08/2012 07:32

Good luck Picture!

capecath · 12/08/2012 08:12

weekipper agree - DS is 10/8/10 so 12/8/12 would top that off nicely :)

Hope all goes well for you picture!!!

NeedlesCuties · 12/08/2012 08:16

All the best Picture and everyone else.

I'm only 38+2 but gearing myself up to have the baby soon. Pretty please! All the way through this pregnancy I've been positive that he/she will be born early, maybe at 39 weeks as DS was.

Have been getting the false start contractions that some of you lot have been having. Still haven't had a show, but am very very wet (sorry if TMI!) and have had a runny tummy for around a week (more TMI!).

Have a good Sunday everyone. DH is preaching all this month as our Minister is on hols. So I'm in sole charge of DS who likes to run around church before and after the service and shout, "daddy, daddy, me see daddy!" during the start of the service Grin Thank the Lord there is a creche he goes to half way through, means I get half an hours peace :)

Looking forward to having my own baby and to adding you lot to the Births part of the August list. Come on!

susiegrapevine · 12/08/2012 08:20

Good luck picture still no baby here and wanna scream and cry about it! Haven't tho! Feeling very overdue but only 38+5 arrrgggg so annoying when ds was 38+3 and wasn't even ready for him and thought he would be overdue as he was was my 1st. Come out baby I want to meet you!!!

woopsidaisy · 12/08/2012 08:52

Good luck for today Picture. Exciting times.

40+4 today, and still nothing. Do you think we will all go on the same day now? Grin
