Just because you said about sugar levels Smile

EggsMichelle · 08/07/2012 08:42

I think it was me wibbling on about sugar! Yesterday I managed 6hrs of the pub crawl, and failed to find any appletizers or a bar that knew how to make a virgin Mary! I did however refrain from even a sip of alcohol, even when I burnt my mouth with tobasco sauce! And my horrible neighbours did not wake me up with music last night!

My plan for the day is position myself infront of the TV until Wimbledon starts, watch Wimbledon, then refuse to move off the sofa until bedtime!

JoJoB77 · 08/07/2012 09:30

Morning all Smile

I could do with some advice/opinions please. I have what i think is pain under either side of my bump which i am putting down to the ligaments stretching. Its just that kind of feelkng iykwim?

But i also have some pain in my (aham) fanjo bone, right in between my legs. Mostly when im walking or getting up from sitting down. Any ideas if this is more than just general stretching/aches & pains or am i just being a bit of a wuss? I dudnt have any of this with DD so totally new experience!

gilsbubbles · 08/07/2012 09:37

Totally exhausted after 4 days looking after my 13 yr old nephew.....how on earth will I find the energy to look after a baby full time Confused

PrunellaDeVille · 08/07/2012 11:16

jojo i've heard of a few people suffering from pelvic girdle pain, i think the areas you describe might fit this???

JoJoB77 · 08/07/2012 11:32

Hmm yes Prunella i was worried it might be that or SPD [worried]

Will see how i get on this week. Luckily i am doing not a lot today (apart from looking after a lively 15 month old!) but i am back to work tomoro so will see how things go.

Bubbless · 08/07/2012 12:08

jojo- ive had this!! and i thought it was only me!! i went to my doc and he said it was just all of my muscles stretching but i had the fanjo pain too.. i spent the best part of a week with our only hot water bottle (in the shape of a hedgehog, my dp named Harry...) between my legs... dp spent the best part of a week laughing at me!!

i know this may sound stupid but where can me and dp go to look at a large range of pushchairs?
we are mainly interested in looking at the mountain buggy swift, uppababy cruz, petite star kurvi abstract and the musty evo... but i dont know anywhere that i can go to look at them!!
any ideas?!

Barbeasty · 08/07/2012 12:19

Bubbless do any of the manufacturers have stockist lists on their websites? Otherwise check the websites of a few big stores (john Lewis, mothercare) and see if they stock them, or search for smaller local specialist baby stuff shops and see what they have.

Gilsbubbles you won't be pregnant, and a baby doesn't talk back or move under its own steam. It gets harder as they get older (delightful start to my day as DD took her nappy off and did a poo on our bedroom carpet), but it's a relatively gradual change so you sort of keep up with them IYSWIM.

SpottyTeacakes · 08/07/2012 13:15

Yeah go to John Lewis. I don't know anywhere that stocks the Mutsy Evo though. That's what I'm getting Smile

Bubbless · 08/07/2012 15:24

spotty- i think it was you i stole the musty evo idea from! aha.
thinking about going to kiddicare but its a 2 hour drive from where i am!!

tried looking on the websites barbeasty but they are fecking useless struggling to find the info i need!
phoned john lewis to see which store near me stocked a range of pushchairs and the man at customer services had no way to find out.. helpful!!

had such baby brain this morning i put my dp's passport into the bin bag and threw it out.. trying to put off rummaging through all of the rubbish in the communial rubbish bin with 5 other houses all using identical bin bags to try and find it!!

Barbeasty · 08/07/2012 15:43

If you phone your nearest John Lewis you should be able to ask to be put through to the baby department, and you can ask them direct and I think you can make an appointment with them for someone to show them to you.

Maybe have a look at the icandy website which does have a good stockists list, and then contact any fairly local stockists to see if they have the ones you actually want to see.

SpottyTeacakes · 08/07/2012 17:07

Kiddicare sounds like a good idea you could make a day of it Smile

I'm back from shopping at West Quay. So tired now. Got some really nice maternity jeans (grey skinnies) and some other bits from New Look. I'm not normally a fan of new look but they had more choice than other shops and I really do love the jeans Grin

Had an argument with dp because we went to nandos and he was moaning about having to order (I didn't want to go up because my hips were hurting and we had done lots of walking) anyway I wanted chicken in pitta with chips and a side salad and he got me chicken in a wrap with chips and coleslaw! I know I'm over reacting but I'm still Angry Grin

itsMYNutella · 08/07/2012 18:47

Spotty I understand the disappointment! I learned German as fast as possible to be able to communicate and order my own food exactly how I want Wink although there are still many things I miss and others which would be considered weird Angry
Ho hum..... perhaps I will squeee in an England trip before the bean arrives Hmm

SpottyTeacakes · 08/07/2012 18:50

Where abouts are you from originally nutella?

emilyeggs · 08/07/2012 19:38

Hi ladies, not been on hear for a few days, I've been in pain, not severe just constant and dull with a few shooting pains Sad had a bit of bleeding today (light brown and not too much but worried) got a scan tomorrow at the Princess Royal EPDU. Heard a heartbeat today at the emergency doctors but he wants me to get it checked out further. just wish the pain would stop

emilyeggs · 08/07/2012 19:39

To help me keep my mind off it I have been looking at the oyster pushchair, any views?

SpottyTeacakes · 08/07/2012 19:42

Hope everything is ok emily sometimes the position of the placenta can cause bleeds (I think) so that's probably why they want you scanned Smile

Wrt the oyster I think it's meant to be quite good but I'm no expert. The people on the pushchair topic are very knowledgable though, list your requirements and they will instantly tell you which one to get!

emilyeggs · 08/07/2012 19:59

Thanks spotty I think the doctor said something like that, just glad I heard its heat Smile. Gonna go and look at car seats now.

pmgkt · 08/07/2012 20:00

is it just me or is the range of unisex clothing really bad at the moment. I just want to buy something so that i can say i've started but i cant find anything cute at all. It seems that everything is geared towards everyone knowing what sex they are having before birth (although we will be finding out too i think) but at 15 weeks I just want to start nesting (spreading the cost as we sold all ds1 newborn clothes)

minipie · 08/07/2012 20:02

Hi Bubbless apparently all stockists of the Uppababy Vista except John Lewis will have the Uppababy Cruz - should be in stores in a couple of weeks. Not sure about the others I'm afraid!

emily the Oyster is also on my shortlist, it gets v good reviews. Mutsy Evo is similar (a tiny bit wider) and better quality build/fabrics according to some of the gurus on the Products board - but fewer places seem to have it in stock.

Can you tell I've been doing pram research Grin

I've also had some stabbing type pains today and a little tiny bit of bleeding - going to call midwife tomorrow. Hope you are ok.

SpottyTeacakes · 08/07/2012 20:03

pmgkt I'm tempted to just buy a lovely winter cardi in white from mothercare, dp wouldn't let me though!

pmgkt · 08/07/2012 21:11

Me and dh looked in a couple of shops like m & s as there is no baby shops where we were. I feel a shopping trip coming on.

Bellaboo123 · 08/07/2012 21:18

Emily and mini pie hope all is ok and you feel better soon.

I agree rubbish selection of unisex clothes so boring! The best I've seen has actually been in tescos!

Urgh lying on the sofa with indigestion blrgh - don't want to go to work tomorrow Sad

itsMYNutella · 08/07/2012 21:28

Spotty I was born in the very noble Croydon, then grew up near Peterborough (another very fine place) moved back to London and lived there for another 9 years and moved here 20 months ago after meeting my man in New Zealand.... All pretty normal really :)

pmgkt I also wanted to buy some cute but unisex stuff and the selection. Here was, well, crap!

itsMYNutella · 08/07/2012 21:31

Although Spotty I often get asked of I'm from holland or Denmark. Apparently I speak German with a slight accent as if I were from Holland... Probably not helped by me cycling everywhere Hmm
