Morning all and welcome to Trixter. I am one of 3(me and 2 younger brothers), so 3 seems to be a good number (but ask me after I've pushed No.1 out!). DH and I have talked about it a bit and concensus at this stage is prob more than 1, but wait & see.

Also, having any more would mean that we actually have to have sex Grin something that's not very frequent at the mo. Not so much tiredness, as I'm feeling pretty good now, more not really bothered (my body seems to think it's busy growing a baby). Also DH has been falling asleep on the sofa every night this week whilst I bustle about cooking and cleaning (he's not normally a 50s throwback!), due to major stress at work as his boss is off sick and DH having to pick up the slack.

Cor loads to catch up on! Welcome Trixter! Smile

Went to see the midwife on Tues and they couldnt find a heartbeat. She was very calm about everything and said that the baby was prob wriggling around too much for her to be able to pin it down. I was gutted as I havent heard it on that machine yet, and although I know she would have sent me off for a scanif there was anything to worry about, it would have been nice and reassuring to hear it. Has anyone else had that, where the midwife couldnt get the heartbeat? I have had lots of movement since, so am assuming everything is ok.

I'm soo envious of you girls who have kept nice and trim (Kayzed... you included Grin!) I've put on a good one and half stone ish by now. (Aggie.. we must be carrying a huge amount of water!!!!)People are still saying its all quite neat, but the scales tell another story! DH informed me that my bum has got bigger! I'm doing three lots of exercise a week, in an effort to keep mobile, but am also eating loads of goodies! Blossom.. your food intake looks remarkably similar to mine!

Kbaby... LOL at glazed eyes nipple thing. Mine dont seem anywhere near as sensitive as some of this lots!Grin I'm hoping this will mean I can breastfeed like theres no tommorrow! (although lately they are sticking out a lot, when I could do with them staying calm!)

Mummyzena.. Kbaby and I are both from South Wales!

HC.. Know exactly what you mean re keeping the erm garden tidy! What on earth are we going to do when its nearly birth time? I'll be going into hospital looking like an ape! There's no way i could ask DH to help out!!

bumpybel · 09/03/2006 09:45

PS Good luck for tommorrow Wallace. Smile

entropy · 09/03/2006 10:30

Hi everyone. glad everyones scans have been Ok, (hope you get your tomorrow Wallice!) 13 days to mine, not that I'm counting!!

would just like to add my name to the too exhausted for sex club... DH was getting annoyingly frisky poor thing, so I invested in a double sided pillow for me and a very addictive online computer shooting game for him. seems to have made us both very happy for now Grin

Wallace - Good luck for tomorrow

Thanks to everyone for the Chickenpox advice. I'm going to have a bloodtest done on monday just to make sure that I'm immune. That way the headteacher will let me leave the art cupboard!! Looks like I'm going to be as I had it when I was a kid but because of where I work say it's probably best to check it out. As for shingles, I'm not protected from that but have been told it won't harm the baby, just make me really ill.

Would any mind if I have a bit of a rant? I came close to punching one of the men that I work with. He told me that I was as big as a rugby player this morning. That I looked fat and disgusting and it's horrible to see. Luckily I didn't have the knife in my hand that I use to prepae the children's fruit with. I've put on just under a stone so far and felt quite proud of myself for not indulging too often (the odd bit of choccie ice cream doesn't really count, does it!!). He just got right up my nose. In the past, he's said that my morning sickness can't be as bad as I was making out, that I was putting it on. That it's not fair when I was told not to move tables around in the classroom, I shouldn't be at work if I can't do my job properly. I wouldn't mind but he's a trainee and I've been doing this job for over 5 years now (through the 3 miscarriages). Sorry for ranting there but I do feel a bit better now. I think I might have to have one of cook's puddings today for lunch.

IamBlossom · 09/03/2006 11:57

Puddy - What a complete arsehole. I'd tell him to shut his mouth if he can't say anythng constructive or helpful, even if he delivers his gems in a "jokey" way. How dare he make personal comments like that, or cast aspersions on your ability to do your job! Seriously, tell him to get stuffed, or put him on here an I'll do it. If I were you I'd get back in the art cupboard with the head teacher, sounds much more agreeable, and perhaps career enhancing ? :)

Re lady garden trimming - I started a thread on that in the Childbirth section called "Did anyone have it all waxed?" or some thing like that. i thought about having my bikini line waxed for last time and never bothered but I think I might this time, and go for a full on Hollywood, although someone from this thread (Algach) did say she has come a cropper with ingrowing hairs afterwards which has put me off a bit.....might go for her suggestion of an electric shaver, and give it to DH to have a go, although that is unlikely to help with his ardent mood.......

Bumpybel, that sounds like ideal weight gain, no too much not too little, and if you are exercising that much that is great! You have inspired me to go to the gym at lunchtime today. Please don't worry about the heartbeat thing, I have heard that with lots of women the baby is just too mobile, and if you have felt movement then that has got to the best reassurance. When the midwives start to check you can hear them put on their reassuring voice and start a conversation with you about something random to take your mind of listening out for it in case they don't get it so that shows you they must have to deal with worried mums all the time when they can't locate it for normal reasons.

don't worry poppet.

Bloss

MummyZena · 09/03/2006 13:06

Hi All, Scan yesterday was not complete due to naughty bump being in the wronge position, have to go back in 2 weeks, not worried, just nice to see the little person bouncing around inside, I hope everything goes ok Wallace tomorrow.

Puddytat My DD had chicken pox over Christmas when I was in my 1st trimester, I was a little worried!! anyway the advice I was given is that they cannot do anything unless you actually develop the virus, go for the blood test and go from there, try not to worry. As long as your medical professionals know you have been exposed they can give you the advice you need.

Take care all, MummyZena

puddytat99 · 09/03/2006 13:12

Mummyzena -hope when you go for your next scan, your little one will have moved around for you to see more clearly.

Annie29 · 09/03/2006 13:56

Hi All,
Good luck with scan tomorrow Wallace, and congrats on yours Mummyzena. Bumpybel my midwife couldn't get a heartbeat last time at fourteen weeks so she sent me for a scan and all was well. I'm sure if she was worried though yours would send you straight there too, so try not to worry too much. As long as you can feel baby moving, I'm sure all is well.
I have my midwife appointment tomorrow 22 weeks.
Welcome Trixter Smile, my DS is nearly 11 months now and he has his 8 month check up tomorrow!! Efficient or what! He actually had one at 8 months as well, but for some reason they called him in for another two weeks ago, then cancelled it, then sent another one out... So I'll take him along anyway, it's a good excuse for a day off.
DH just sent me a video of him going from crouching to standing all by himself without holding onto something!! I'm so proud, but gutted I missed it in person.

Oh and I'm disgusting, I haven't done any trimming of any sort downstairs for about a year now... I know I know Eeeuw. Haven't been swimming or anything though, so nobody knows. Oh except everyone on the internet now...

And even though I said 'NEVER AGAIN' after DS, I feel sad sometimes that I might never be pregnant again after this. How quickly we forget. Hmm maybe I will have another one, we'll see how this one turns out!!
Dunno how much weight I've put up - not much I don't think, but I'm bigger than last time round for sure. Hoping I don't go wide this time, last time it was just straight out front. Was a boy though, this time it's a girl. Hmmm.

So many posts I can't keep up! I'm 20 weeks today...hooray :)

puddytat - can't believe that somebody would be rude enough to say that!

MummyZena - you must have a wriggly little one. Quite nice thta you get another scan :)

Thank you all for the good wishes for tomorrow - it means a lot to me xxxx I'll let you know how I get on - I phoned the hospital today just to check that the consultant was not still off sick, and he is back so I should get it this time!

pinkdolly · 09/03/2006 16:54

Hi everyone,
Am with you guys on the trimming thing, although am sort of coping it is getting difficult. Trying to see around my tum.
I must admit that i'm a bit of a whimp and wouldn't even let DH do the job for me (i'd rather be hairy!)
Both my DD's were in my room till they were 6 months old, then they went into their own.
I plan to do the same with this one, although at the moment my mum occupies our 3rd bedroom, so that might not be doable.
MummyZ - I think your'e lucky to be having another scan, i'd have one everyweek if i could.
Puddytat - Some people just dont have a clue, when I was pg with DD1 I was working a heavy job and had to cut down on some aspects. The chap I worked with was horrid, and said I shouldn't be there if I was incapable of doing my job. This despite the fact that I had carried him for months due to him being a lazy twat, and stoned most of the time. In the end, after I couldn't take any more insults I reported him. You shouldn't let him get away with those horrid remarks. You know your'e good at your job and he is just trying to make you feel bad. No way would I let anyone talk to me like that. If he does it again report him. Big higz and dont let the twat stress you out.

Twirl · 09/03/2006 19:20

Hello, you miss a few days on mumsnet and you then spend an hour reading all the news! Puddytat, report him! That kind of person makes me so Angry. Congrats to everyone on scans etc, mine is tomorrow so I'll spend the evening anxiously biting my nails thinking of all the things that could possibly be wrong with the baby.....

Wallace · 09/03/2006 19:28

Me and you both twirl, my scan is at 10am so at least I get it over and done with - what time is yours?... good luck xxxxx :)

AggiePanther · 09/03/2006 21:25

Blimey -I can't keep up!
Welcome trixter :)
Good luck with your scans wallace and twirl.
Puddytat Angry at your colleague - I think kayzeds advice is spot on.
bumpy - I think feeling movement is the most important thing -mum knows best :) Oh and yes I agree it's probably water retention (well known fact that pies contain huge amounts of water)
Hi to everyone else - I've forgotten what else I was going to add, there are so many of us now -is it one due every day in July yet?

Trixter · 09/03/2006 22:42

Thanks for all welcome messages-
good luck to all with scans coming up-
HC made me lol at trimming_ have thought about going to a salon-but dont know if they'd be ble to heave everything out of way long enough to do it IYSWIM! My due date is officially 19/7 but i have had to have 2 prev CS(1 emergency -pre-eclampsia and 2nd wanted a natural one desperately but i went 2 weeks over and they wont risk inducing) so (dont want to risk things)I am booked in to have another on 14/7 which seems v.wierd-I know its a boy -dd1 v.v,pleased-and i know when he'll be born! just dont know what he'll be called!

deblaca · 09/03/2006 22:45

good luck ladies with your scans

deblaca · 09/03/2006 22:51

Morning ladies

puddytat99-can't believe what a male chauvinist pig you work with-gggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Angry-he really does need reporting. ((xx))

Good luck to all of you scanners. ((xx))

MummyZena-my little terror was being a nuisance at the 20 week scan but luckily the sonographer managed to get the vital measurements. ((xx))

I remember saying never again when in labour when the lady serving the meals laughed at me. But here I am again and if DH has his way I will be here again in a couple of years. His face falls when I say this is the last one-hmmmmn-could try and get a new car in a couple of years if he really wants another. Grin Truth is I always wanted 3 but I'm not telling him that!

Feel quite weepy today. DD was dry at nursery yesterday then in the afternoon she kept wetting herself and has done this morning just before I took her to mum and dad's. She knows to use the toilet but chooses to forget. I just can't keep up with the washing and it got to me a bit. My dad met me at the door in floods of tears and bless him, he isn't very well at the moment. Hormones!!!!!

My DH would happily give me a trim and edge so looks like he will have to-I don't think I bothered when I had DD but must do this time as I had a mirror up at the end of the bed so could see everything. Blush

Have 2 early PG tests left over so just for fun I did one-it is still a real stomach churner when the 2 pink lines come up-sad aren't I?

Right, must put the washer on again and do my usual pile of ironing.

HC - Sorry to hear that you're feeling a bit weepy today. I hate those days. Sending you a big hug. It would be bigger but I'm sure our bumps would get in the way. :0

You'll all be happy to know that I reported that 'very nice man' yesterday. He made me laugh when I had to work with him this morning as he was very quiet and did everything I asked him to do first time, without moaning. Which is a first, as he is very work shy as my Mum would say. He thinks because he's one of the only 2 males and only 20, among lots of females, all late 20s and beyond, he can use his boyish charm to get away with work at times. Thanks for all your support and advice. If he starts again, maybe I should just introduce him to you lot. I'm sure that would do the trick!!! :0

Wallace · 10/03/2006 12:31

Good for you puddytat.

Poor you HC - sounds like hard work xxxx

My scan went really well. Everything looks fine! Was warned beforehand that the consultant doesn't like to chat(and screen was turned away from me), so spent the time in dead silence memorising a Tweenies alphabet poster... I had to do something to keep my mind from analysing every "hmmm" from the doc Blush

He gave me a good look at the baby after he finished, and there were some really clear bits. Saw the mouth opening and closing, and the tongue. The printouts he gave me weren't that good though, but never mind. :)

Couldn't see whether it was a girl or a boy either Grin

MummyZena · 10/03/2006 13:11

deblaca I am having a lot of kicks now but for weeks I have been having bubble like feelings, its not wind I promise, it is the bump on the move Smile

Good news Wallace, yes not fair that you cant see the screen when they are doing all the measurements but glad you had a good look at the end.

Potty training, nightmare, my dd not ready yet, sure I will have 2 in nappies at this rate, maybe we can crack it in the few weeks between giving up work and bump arriving Grin
