I had a full nights sleep last night, and I haven't been sick this morning. Fingers crossed this is the start of things getting better!

I'm home sick from work today and watching This Morning, and I was sure the wheels on the bus go up and down! Apparently they go round and round, good job I didn't waste my money entering that competition!

Morning ladies and apologies for being AWOL - just busy with work and totally knackered still. When does this 2nd trimester energy boost kick in? I'm so fed up of feeling so lazy and pathetic!

Wow so many messages since I last looked - godzookey if it makes you feel any better, I had to get my DH to do FB message delete as well as I'd not told work but after I did he basically told everyone and anyone he possibly could!! Lovely that he's so excited but I have lots of complications because of previous surgery so I'd rather he'd not told the WHOLE world! Still, it's his news too I guess! And very sweet that he's so stoked!

And does anyone else seem to have overactive bowels as opposed to under active??

anyone noticed that their bump is getting bigger I was slouched this morning and tried to sit up by bending in the middle and I felt pressure for the first time. I'm 13+1

DH RANT COMING UP.......

My DH was with me yesterday when I went to choose some maternity knickers, and some new bra's comfort all the way so I was looking at granny pants(on sale by the way £5 for 5 in a pack full briefs dark colours in Marks) and he said completely unthinking you're not going all mumsey and dowdy on me are you. Needless to say no knickers were brought and i stomped off to the car!!

He's told the work blabber mouth so she's been on the old bush telegraph ooh guess what and gossipping now I don't really care who knows this is happy news but I'm a bit embarrassed because this means everyone now knows not only do we bonk but quite a lot not sure why I'm like this but I am. The other thing is we have some anti baby friends who refer to everyone with children as a Breeder and I havent been able to tell them in person about the baby yet I think this is going to make it worse.

Creepy after you have your little one you will never make that mistake again - sometimes I wonder if these songs are learnt by osmosis! On holiday i even heard an Italian mother sing Wheels on the bus to her toddler!

I think it was a classic case of baby brain. The words are, or were!, imprinted in my brain from my niece and nephews. I was utterly convinced they went up and down for a good half an hour!

Eleda - I have somewhat overactive bowels too . This is a totally new thing for me because in all my previous pregnancies I have had horrid constipation but not this time. I prefer it this way any day!

Creepy - it's the children on the bus that go up and down not the wheels!

Boutique - my bump is massive and it feels funny if I bend over. I am all set to put on loads of weight - I am starving all the time and fruit just doesn't do it. In my previous pregnacies I have put on loads too, last time two and a half stone. I lost pretty much all of it and am generally quite small but I just can't stop eating when pregnant.

Newbie I have been thinking of you. You have been so positive which I found quite inspiring. I will be keeping everything crossed for you and saying a little prayer for you, DH and your baby.

And talking of putting weight on - I have to be on bed rest from week 22 so it's going to be a nightmare!! I will be as big as a house!!

Oh and going back to one of the earlier conversations about the cost of pics... I am so about the cost of everyones - mine were £10 for 4 pictures!

And talking of songs imprinting on your brain - does anyone know Tots TV? Well there's one that goes, "animal action is so much fun..." Singing it to myself at work gets lots of !!

Hello ladies

It's the weekend! I excitedly introduced myself on the first thread and I'm afraid I've only been a lurker since then. I've been slightly disbelieving that there's a little person developing inside of me. Anyone else had similar thoughts? It's becoming more real as we've got our 12 week scan on Monday when I'll be 12+1 so I'm really looking forward to that. Although I must confess that I'm slightly apprehensive about possible problems that might be picked up. How did you all feel before your scans?

Newbie - glad i made you smile (grin) and hope you had a successful shopping spree & got some glam new shoes!

Pitch didn't go so well, which put me off my stride from telling my boss, as planned to tell her immediately afterwards when we would supposedly be on a 'post pitch high'.

However was spurred into action when one work colleague i had confided in, confiscated my lunch until i went ahead - gotta love a bit of tough love!!

She was OK but felt she had to send an email to the 'Board' to inform them - i'm like really, seriously, isn't this my news to tell not yours?
AND she kept alluding to the fact that she had suspected as much and even mentioned her 'suspicions' to our CEO....not cool in my book!!!

As an aside from the temperamental bowels, i have become paranoid that i've developed really bad breath - anyone else got that, just starting to get really vile taste in my mouth half way through the day!

Breathed on DH who confirmed it... or may be it's just me and i need to get a new mouthwash??!!

hello everyone

mrsmallard welcome back! I am also pretty apprehensive about my scan. I Won't believe there is a real live baby in there until see it.

I have realised I am definitely getting fatter, my jeans were really tight on yesterday and I had to undo the top button when i sat down

I had a great time at the gig last night, soundgarden were great despite the pouring rain. I had to be talked out of joining in the moshpit and only really started to feel tired at the end. I luckily managef to get a seat on the tube home.

I had to do the hair bobble trick with my jeans last night whilst I was out with the hubby and his parents. I'm not sure if it was baby making them not fit, or the curry and diet coke belly... I'm thinking it could be the latter. I'm still in my pjs so haven't tried out the jeans today! I'm 14+5 and that's the first sign of clothes not fitting well anymore...

I am finding like last time that I have a flat belly in the morning and by evening I look 5 months pregnant. I'm sure a lot of its just bloating and food baby. I've graduated to proper maternity trousers for the most part but I can still get 2 pairs of pre-pregnancy jeans on with the button done up if I breath in and a massive muffin top

I've been doing the hair band trick for at least a week now and last night i went put for dinner and had to abandon the hair band too!

I got my tfl baby on board badge through the post yesterday, I'm going to try it out on the bus today.

godzookey i too have that sour horrible taste too and only just started about a week ago, have been constantly chewing gum !!

Pascha I'm the same - not much of a belly in the morning but mahoosive by the evening. Only have one pair of fat jeans I can fit into now, they're tight around the legs and arse and not just the belly, which makes me think I can't blame it all on the baby! I tried on some maternity trousers the other day but they were all too big. Hmph.

Are those who've had scans telling people now? We've started telling people and I'm doing it face-to-face with friends as much as poss. Still feel weird about telling people but will have to do it eventually I guess. OH emailed his friends. My mum has told the whole world. I've banned everyone from mentioning it on Facebook.

My friend told me you're not supposed to wear underwired bras during pregnancy - had no idea about that.

Tugs i think the bra thing is about comfort.. ive had to sstop wearing the underwire ones cos of the digging in and it hurt like hell... im in a lovely fetching sports bra type ensemble.... looks erm... stunning.

one for those who have 'been there n done it 2nd timers' the bubbles baby moving sensation -could it be described as similar to when your stomach bubbles n groans but without the noise and much lower.... blatantly where the baby should be?

They all say that but you can wear underwires. You have to make sure the bra fits correctly with the wire sitting on your ribs and not putting any pressure on the boob itself. Its to do with not interfering with breast changes due to increased blood flow and milk duct development during pregnancy. As long as the bra fits right, the underwire really shouldn't be a problem.

We are advised not to because most women are wearing the wrong size bra.

Well, with DC1 I didn't expand for weeks and weeks and weeks (so much so I couldn't wait for my bump to appear)- this time round it's a whole different ball game! Showing much sooner. Already in fat jeans and don't know how longer that'll last now (I'm 12 weeks).

Lora what you describe sounds just like baby movements. How exciting!
