Hi all thanks for adding me to list!! Smile

Got my scan tues, will be 13+2 hope im having nuchal fold but only mentioned blood tests

Hormonalhell · 12/07/2012 11:59

Allchik im leeds too!!!!

SpringFlowers · 12/07/2012 12:06

Hormonal - I'm 12+6 and finally am starting to have some days when I feel better for some part of the day. It's only in the last couple of days though so perhaps you are really nearly there. I'm hoping to go back to work next week as I think I'm probably able to do a 10 hour day (oof). It is lovely to hear the baby's heartbeating. I don't think I knew you were alone, how are you finding things today?

Hormonalhell · 12/07/2012 12:13

Hi springflowers Smile

today so far have felt ok, just had lunch n not feeling yuk yet but sometimes starts mid aft and lasts til bed time, just find one symptom offsets another tiredness brings on nausea then nausea makes me depressed, emetophobic too so that dont help matters.

Yes am on my own aged 40, baby's dad 'wants no part of it' his words

Hormonalhell · 12/07/2012 12:21

Names for girl i like - ruby, daisy, isabel, lola

Boys - not thinkng about til had scan!

DiscoDomina · 12/07/2012 12:22

Allchik i wouldn't be able to contain myself till 20 week scan to buy stuff if everything had been ok at 12 week that would be my green light! What about everyone else? I'm yet to get my scan date (they only arrange it after booking in appointment here and mine was only last week) I'm 11 weeks now so they've got a few weeks to get the date to me so they can do combined test. Would just like a date through at least!

I'm in the West Midlands Smile

Hormonalhell · 12/07/2012 12:25

Disco- i got mine about a week after booking in appt

DiscoDomina · 12/07/2012 12:33

Well it was last Tuesday i booked in so hopefully by the end of this week Confused

Hormanal do you hav other DC from baby's dad?

CreepyCrawly · 12/07/2012 12:36

Afternoon all. I'm home early from work today, suddenly felt really hot and sick in a client's kitchen and thought I was going to faint right there and then. I'm home now in my pyjamas, and going to have a sleep for a couple of hours.

I didn't sleep very well last night, I woke up with terrible pains under my right ribs. I eventually turned onto my back and they went. Has one else had something similar? Was it just everything being moved around for the baby?

CreepyCrawly · 12/07/2012 12:37

Oh, and by underneath my ribs, I don't mean lower down. It felt like it was actually behind my ribs. If that makes sense.

Hormonalhell · 12/07/2012 12:38

No i have 2 dc's to my ex husband we split last year, met baby's dad n was with him couple of months then just before i found out he decides to give his wife another chance( they split at xmas) he just didnt want to know when i told him Sad

Hormonalhell · 12/07/2012 12:43

Creepy - no not had that, could it be indigestion? How far are you?

CreepyCrawly · 12/07/2012 12:47

I'm not sure, I don't think I've ever had indigestion? Plenty of heart burn recently, I'm not sure if they're the same thing? Sorry if I sound super thick. I'm 13+4.

DiscoDomina · 12/07/2012 13:05

I don't mean to sound flippant Hormonal - but it's his loss then! You will be fine and your child will think you are the bees knees. I've never met my Dad and my mom raised me all by myself - she is one truly amazing woman who i have the upmost respect for Smile

BuntyCollocks · 12/07/2012 13:06

Hi all :)

Good luck for Monday newbie, I have everything crossed for you that all is well.

I'm in North Wales.

creepy you don't sound thick! I didn't realise I had heartburn last pregnancy as I had never had it before - had to ring my mum!

Names I like (notice I not we - as previously mentioned, DH has awful taste): Ruaridh, Austin, Arlo, Tessa, Seren, Sadie ... there are others, but some of them would out me massively if anyone who knows me is on here ;)

DiscoDomina · 12/07/2012 13:34

Will be thinking about you Mon Newbie

DiscoDomina · 12/07/2012 13:37

Has anyone heard from Brugs since last week when she mentioned she had a bleed? Hope she is ok

theboutiquemummy · 12/07/2012 14:21

Discodomina Check the list for Brugs not sure

creepycrawly I had that Dr said it was constipation you need a good clear out dear beetroot, water n senna did the trick for me x

Hormonalhell sounds like you had a lucky escape x

Brugmansia · 12/07/2012 15:54

Hello, still here. Thanks all for your concern. I've been on holiday this week with very limited internet access. The bleed last week was a one off and nothing untoward since. Scan is next Wednesday, so just going to wait until then.

I've already done one festival in early June. Fortunately the loos were fine and I wasn't feeling to bad. Having something to sit in, either a picnic rug, or I had a little folding tripod stool, was the most important thing. I'm probably going to another at the end of August. The festival I was at is very family friendly and there were loads of children so I spent lots of it daydreaming about what it will be like next year with our own little one with those cute baby ear defenders on.

CreepyCrawly · 12/07/2012 16:44

Thanks bunty and boutique I'll have a good 'clear out' and see. It only lasted a few minutes last night and haven't had it since. Feeling really unwell today though, soup for tea and an early night I think. I'm taking tomorrow off work too.

Which festival did you go to in early June brugs? Was it Volksfest?

CreepyCrawly · 12/07/2012 16:48

bunty I love Arlo and Sadie. I suggested Arlo but my DH said no. I think we're settled on Joseph or Nancy.

I'm in Westest Wales, Pembrokeshire

SigningGirl · 12/07/2012 17:35

Thanks to whoever added me to the list... I forgot to say I'm 28 and I have my scan tomorrow (Argh!)

Having had a scan 2 weeks ago when I had an implantation bleed, I've seen baby already (kicking about like a little footballer - I'm betting on a boy) but didn't get to see baby for long and the sonographer didn't do anything beyond confirming a heartbeat (at least not that she told us).

It is nice reading this thread, esp as this is my first, and seeing other people in similar situations having similar experiences.

Names - I like chloe and isabelle if it is a girl, and Joshua and Christopher if it is a boy. My husband has a rather... traditional middle name, and we are currently in discussions about whether we would use that. Hmm

godzookey · 12/07/2012 19:44

Evening Ladies,
Signing I love Josh and Chloe too, I also really like Zach and all the kings' names for boys, Charles, George, Henry etc!

How is everyone today??? - my MAJOR grump for the day, sorry, appreciate that's all i seem to do is DH against my wishes, putting the news on fb for my MIL, in her excitement to announce to all, which would be fine in theory, if it weren't for the fact that I haven't told my boss yet, and i have colleagues from work who are my friends on fb.

DH claims that because most of his family and friends are in Canada, it's the easiest way to share the news - my response is that a private group email would work just as well but no, that would be too rational!!

I had a major shit fit about that, got MIL to delete post immediately - we have a big pitch on tomorrow morning and thought best to get that out the way before telling my boss. Am really nervous about that actually, as we're not particularly 'pally' - she is younger, thinner and snr to me - and i'm obviously just jealous HAHA!! :).

Thought i'd break the news in quite an aloof factual way without getting too excited/emotional as i might with friends or do you think I should just go for it and hope we share a 'hug' or two??!!

AND wierdly, one of the guys i work with and he's not even in my immediate team has guessed - he has a young kid of his own but apparently the fact i was off yesterday - are scans generaly on a Weds i ask myself, not drinking AND he mentioned that he had noticed my boobs had got bigger too - creep!

So only a matter of time before the cat is out of the bag anyway

OK, rant now over- PHEW!!!

newbie6 · 13/07/2012 11:14

Hi godzookey - your post made me chuckle which is what I need right now so thank you! Just to be clear, not laughing because your DH put it on FB but chuckling at your comments about your boss, hee hee! I love the name Zach too by the way and if all goes well with us, we would call a boy Zachary, probably shortened to Zach unless he was in trouble :)

Hope your pitch goes well, sure it will and my advice would be to just act like you normally would when you tell your boss? If you don't really get on then you might find this will be something that gives you both a reason to speak more.

Either way - am sure all will be fine and even if your boss is skinnier than you, just remember your pregnancy will make you even more gorgeous :)

x

MamaMary · 13/07/2012 11:36

Creepy, I've had pain under my ribs, heartburn, and cramps. It's to do with everything moving around as your womb expands, as far as I know. And your digestive system slows right down.

I also find I feel a lot sicker (i.e. nausea) when I'm tired. When I was on holiday I almost thought it had gone away, but now if I'm tired it's as bad as ever.

Godzookey I know what you mean re the big 'announcment' we've just told family so far and although I'm now 12 weeks and have had a scan, I'm still reluctant to tell friends for some reason. Mind you as I'm already showing I don't have much of a choice!
